Teotihuacan offers a delightful culinary experience, featuring traditional Mexican dishes bursting with flavor. The restaurant boasts a welcoming ambiance that complements the delicious food. The friendly and attentive staff provides excellent service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
The Service was amazing, the food outstanding, the Drinks delightful. We had Pescadeo Acapulco which was upgraded to a Red Snapper. It was fantastic and so very tasty. Then the child's meal was a quesadilla which was a nice portion ( it was boxed, eaten later) hubby faijita platter. It was our first time there and WE WILL BE GOING BACK! Thank You Teotihuacan Resturant for a fabulous afternnoo. Also our server, cant remember her name..but her catch phrase when asking for anything was "FOR SURE,FOR SURE"❤! She was adorable❤❤❤
Wow... super great service since entering the restaurant, the temperature and ambient inside was perfect. As soon as I picked a table they brought me chips and hot sauce (Green and Red) with great flavor... My water with lemons was great Not chlorine flavor at all. 👍🏼😃 They brought my food in about 10-12mins... I asked for a Grill Chicken Brest (Tuesday Plate) with sizzling onion, bell pepper and Mozzarella Cheese cooked to perfection, accompanied with Charro Beans, Red Rice with vegetables, Pico de Gallo and Handmade Corn Tortillas... The Waitress that attended me (Anayancy) was always checking on my table... thanks. I will definitely come back with my Family... this is what makes a restaurant inviting. -Guillermo Jr.
I had a very enjoyable experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and served hot. The complimentary tortillas and dipping sauces were very fresh and a great little appetizer before the meal. If you've got some free time, head on down to this restaurant for a reliable; fresh meal.
The food is always Amazing and the service is always friendly and quick! We meet here often with family for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
The food in queso was just fantastic. For it being busy we got served pretty fast and sat pretty fast
This restaurant serves more of a traditional style menu. The Fajitas are very good. I preferred the beef type. The wait staff is magnificent. They kept our chips and salsa full. I really loved the atmosphere. Everybody was so friendly and nice. They greeted us on the way in, and they bid us farewell on the way out. This was my old neighborhood when I was young. The old Variety Boys Club is across the street from it. I highly recommend this restaurant. I applaud the management on their hiring practices. I’ll be back. Thank you.
Ok the reason we gave a 5 star is was the food it was delicious of course if you dont like crowded places dont go on the weekend go during the day before 7 but it's worth it and for the pokemon go players this is good spot with a pokestip and a gym but good places good food and nice staff
You don’t have to drive to San Antonio for great Mexican food. Houston has plenty of excellent Mexican restaurants. Teotihuacan is one of them. Their food is excellent. So is their service. Serving portions are very generous and the prices are more than reasonable. If it wasn’t so far from my home, I would eat here at least 3 or 4 times per week.
My favorite restaurant, hands down. I’ve introduced several friends to this place and it never disappoints. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything here that I didn’t like. My go to plate is always the Silvia (see pic below) before then I always had Pollo Del Mar which is also delicious. For large parties we always come here. The wait is never long even though they are always busy. Vegans stay away. When it comes to the vegetarian menu make it’s very limited but make sure you order the white rice and black beans to accommodate your vegetarian needs.
We loved our food. We went during lunch time when it was chill. Our waitress was attentive and kind. Food runner refilled our drinks and bussed our plates when needed. I didn't drink, but saw several customers with really good looking margaritas! ..The kids found a small metal twist tie in their basket of chips. I'm sure it was an accident. Other than that everything was good.
Found this place by accident. We were starving and googled places near us! So glad this came up. Little pricey but huge portions and the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. Wish there was one closer to us. Next time near Houston this is a must stop!
Stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday and was very impressed with the staff and food !! The waiter was very professional and fast!! He catered to my sons and entire table as if we were family !! The food was very good and fresh !!! Will definitely be back again for lunch as well as a Margarita!!
Sunday Lunchtime was pack with people, but we were able to get seats once we set into the restaurant. We order the La Chely which came with one chicken fajita enchilada verde and one beef fajita quesadilla. The beef fajita was very good. We also ordered the Cancun shrimp. The shrimps were absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection and the sauce that came with it was amazing. We were giving tacos and nachos. We also ordered the Mexican dough to try as a dessert. It’s a puff pastry that is empty in the middle with sugar and cinnamon sprinkled on the outside.
My fav restaurant ever! I’ve grown up coming here since I was a little girl there’s even a plate that has my name! “La Chely” Lol but I always order the pollo poblano!!
I ordered over the phone for take-out. The beef fajitas were tender and flavorful. It came with tons of onions, shredded cheese, cream, fresh guacamole, chips, salsa, rice, and beans. They included 8 flour tortillas, which seemed house made. I ordered and drove to the restaurant. My food was ready in 15 minutes. If you want quality, affordable fajitas, and you live near The Heights, Two is it.
Food tastes delicious! Great variety..Oh my I left so full! And to top it off they had sopapillas ! Soo good and sweet 🥰 we had a waiter that was kinda rude but honestly the food was so good I didn’t even care ! Also I got coffee and it was also great 👍🏼 5starsforthefood
My husband and I have been regular patrons of this restaurant for over 15 years. The food and service are consistently good. On this visit I shared the Pescado Acapulco with my husband who ordered a seafood enchilada. The Acapulco had shrimp, and crab and is in a delicious garlic/ cilantro sauce. Our server Raul was friendly and efficient. Great wine pours with no extra charge and plenty of food left over for another meal at home!
Teotihuacan is one of those rare gems where the food is always consistent — hot, fresh, and served fast. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the staff really goes out of their way to make you feel like family. If you’re a regular, they recognize you and treat you like royalty. If it’s your first visit, you’ll still walk away impressed with the attentive service, the little details, and the bottomless refills. I’ve brought friends and family here many times, and everyone ends up loving it just as much as I do. If you’ve never been, you need to try it. And if you went once in the past and had a less-than-perfect experience, give them another shot — everyone has an off day, and this team will always make it right if you let them know.
Everything about this establishment is amazing , from the atmosphere, service & most importantly the food. Excellent salsa & chips. The mixed azteca fajitas are a must filled with flavour & spices. The spinach enchilada’s also superb. The house frozen margaritas are spot on. Highly recommend. I’ve been here multiple times since & as always never disappoints, again highly recommended 10/10.
I’ve been to this place at least two dozen times (and that’s a conservative estimate). I’ve had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this place. I love it. My friends love it. It’s, in my opinion, the best, most authentic TexMex I’ve had in this state. The service is friendly and fast; the atmosphere is fantastic; the prices are great; and I’ve never had to wait for a table, even though I’ve never made a reservation. Some of my favorites include: the Monday fajita and Friday suizas lunch specials; the cafe de olla for weekend brunch; the frozen house margarita; and the salsa verde (and chips). But you really can’t go wrong here. Do not miss this place when you visit Houston.
Very good Tex Mex food just a few minutes north of Downtown Houston. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were reasonable. Many meat, fish and vegetarian options to choose from. Upon sitting down you are immediately served ice water, chips and both a green and red sauce. The red sauce is warm and has some nice spice heat to it as well. The chips are crisp but a bit lacking in flavor. The food is fresh and flavorful and served in large enough portions to satisfy a larger appetite. The skirt steak is tender, well prepared with a lot of flavor. The tacos and enchiladas are some of the best that I have tasted in Houston. The homemade tortillas are wonderful. If your dish does not come with them it is worth asking for a side order to eat with your rice and beans. My only disappointment was the beer that I ordered. The bottle was cold but the accompany glass with lime were not chilled and left me with a warm beer after I poured it into the glass. My companion's strawberry margarita was very tasty and served well chilled.
Stumbled upon this restaurant with my family and food was delicious!! And also the drinks 10/10 Ruth our server was so sweet!! Thank you would definitely recommend to everyone 🖤
The food was reasonably priced and delicious! free tortilla chips and sauce and refills too so good! underrated
Teotihuacan Mexican Cafe is hands-down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, the inviting aroma of fresh tortillas and spices sets the tone for an amazing meal. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive — you feel like family from the start. I ordered the beef fajitas, and they were perfectly seasoned, tender, and served sizzling hot with all the fixings. Their house-made salsa and chips are addictive (seriously, you’ll need a second basket), and the margaritas? Absolutely top-tier. Strong, flavorful, and generously sized. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming. Whether you're stopping in for a casual lunch or a celebratory dinner, Teotihuacan delivers every time. Highly recommend — this place is a Houston gem!
My first time here and I wasn't disappointed. It was early so I had breakfast. I had the Huevos Rancheros plate which included 2 eggs cooked your way, beans refried, a side of chrispy potatoes, your choice of ham, sausage links or patties and one tamale. It was served with hot, freshly made corn or flour Tortillas. It was all Hot n Delicious. The service was excellent in which the server would come by every few minutes to check in on me especially drink refills. Waitress was Friendly n Courteous and the restaurant was spacious n spotless. A Great choice to eat or drink. Highly recommend it!👍😀
This place was so delicious!! Great vibes, friendly service, and amazing food. I got the chilaquiles rojos and it was so good. A crazy amount of food and all of it hit. Nice beans, great potatoes, tender pork, runny eggs, and the best part of course the crunchy + saucy chilaquiles. Tamale was also very nice. Everyone was so nice and the horchata was also nice and refreshing. I can’t wait to come back!!
Everything was delicious. We went for a weeknight dinner and it was pretty crowded and lively.
This place is so delicious! The service was phenomenal and there is a happy hour M-W with $4 house margaritas
Amazing food, fantastic presentation service was great quality of food was delicious
We want to give a big thank you to our waiter, Raul Ortega, for the amazing service yesterday on Valentine’s Day! We know it’s one of the busiest days of the year, but everything was absolutely awesome. The service was great, the food was delicious, and we were in and out without any issues. Thank you so much for making our Valentine’s Day special! ❤️🫶
Had a great experience here! The fajitas were flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the chaparra sauce had amazing flavor. The grilled shrimp with garlic was incredible — definitely a must-try. The queso flameado was excellent, and you can really tell the flour and corn tortillas are homemade, which made everything even better. We also loved that the top-shelf margaritas were included in happy hour — such a great deal. Huge shoutout to Miguel, our waiter — he was very attentive, and he even discounted our regular margaritas without us having to say anything when he noticed we weren’t totally satisfied. That level of service really stood out. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!
My wife was recommended this restaurant by a coworker, and I’ll be honest — I was a little skeptical at first. This is Houston, and Mexican food has serious competition here. But wow… we were completely blown away. First off, our server Miguel was incredible. He was extremely friendly, professional, and very attentive. Especially for a younger server, that level of service is honestly hard to find these days. Super polite, smart, and on top of everything. The food was extremely fresh; you can taste it in everything, from the rice to the beans. Nothing tasted pre-made or old. Everything came out hot and full of flavor. We also took advantage of happy hour (all day today!), and the margaritas were absolutely worth it. Definitely pay the extra couple of dollars for the top-shelf (not sure the exact name, but trust me) — they were outstanding and a huge step up. Between the great service, fresh food, and solid drinks, this place is now officially on our regular rotation. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stumbled upon Teotihuacan Mexican Cafe while in Houston and it was such a great find! We were close to an appointment and craving Mexican food, and this place did not disappoint. We ordered a shrimp dish and cheese enchiladas — everything on the plate was so good. The proteins were flavorful, and the beans and rice were just as delicious. We’re from Washington State and it was about 76° on 12/10/25, so we asked if we could sit in the outdoor seating area even though it was empty. The staff said yes right away and were so kind about it. They kept checking on us throughout our meal, which I’m sure was a little extra work since we were the only ones outside, but they were attentive and welcoming the whole time. This is a great place to dine — flavorful food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. We’re really glad we found it and chose to eat here, and we can’t wait to go back next time we’re in Houston! 🌮🌯🍽️
The food is very good, with very large servings. Service is excellent. The noise level is a bit high. They are very accommodating of large parties without ignoring everyone else. All the servers were smiling and patiently answered all our questions.
Absolutely incredible! Teotihuacan Mexican Café serves some of the most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. Every dish is full of rich flavor and made with care. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making you feel like family from the moment you walk in. The portions are generous, the margaritas are spot-on, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Whether you’re here for breakfast tacos or a hearty dinner, you’ll never leave disappointed. Easily one of Houston’s best Mexican restaurants!
From the moment we entered the restaurant everyone was very friendly they were going to sit up at a table but they were kind to switch us to a booth... I had a Fajita Chile Relleno and it was yummy 😋, my mother had a 8oz ribeye and it was cooked to her preference. We will definitely be coming back!!
Excellent meal was had for a reasonable price. The menu is extensive. Carnitas were awesome and a generous portion. They offer homemade corn and flour tortillas. My companion loved the enchiladas so much that we had to wait until he ate every last one. No desserts this time. Definitely recommend.
Everything here is delicious! Originally, we attempted to go to Pinkerton but they were sold out. So we came here since it's across the street. I'm glad we did. Service and food was AMAZING. we order the parrillada and it came within minutes. Our waiter checks in often with us to. AAA+++
After visiting a doctors appointment nothing hits the spot better than some good authentic Mexican food that will fill you up with a hearty meal. We ended up getting there about 30 min before lunch but the waitress was kind enough to give us the lunch menu instead of breakfast. The food is delicious and you better come here hungry the food dosen’t look like a lot but it will quickly fill you up. You might need to loosen up the belt a few notches when you get ready to leave. The micheladas are also very delicious. Not to mention their daily happy hour Monday - Wednesday is 11am -10pm and Thursday - Friday 2pm -6pm so make sure to pay them a visit
The food was delicious and they have lunch hour specials during the week. Wait staff was awesome. Sea food can be better.
We went to brunch at this resturant yesterday and it was delicious. I took a star off because I'm Mexican and I really like spicy food and spicy salsa! The good was good but the salsa was to mild for my liking, however if you can't tolerate spicy food this will be great for you. Service was great but mske sure you come earlier than 12pm or after 2pm because it was busy especially on s Sunday. Will be Returning great great food the carnitas felt like moms on a Sunday morning.
⭐️ Food ⭐️ Atmosphere ⭐️ Service ⭐️ Price I used to love this place and its margaritas. But, I ordered the large house margarita on the rocks with salt and it tasted like dish soap. I don't know. I guess it's a good spot everyone should try at least once, but it seems to have lost its shine. Queso was good though!
$12 large margaritas, say less 😎 they were so delicious and they hit 🥴 Food quality is amazing. Ordered the fajitas and was not disappointedAll food was bursting with flavor. They do have a kids menu. You just have to ask for it Plenty of social distancing and covid measures in place. More parking in the back if you need it. There is outdoor seating available under a tent so somewhat weather friendly. The service was ok. It was not bad but it wasn’t memorable.
Teotihuacan Mexican Cafe serves Tex-Mex / Mexican food classics such as fajitas, carne asadas, grilled plates (parrillada), enchiladas and combination plates. The chips and salsa (served warm) arrived before we even ordered as did the waters for everyone at the table. As for the food we ordered, the cheese enchiladas were perfectly cheesy and the enchilada sauce had a nice spice - added heat though not too spicy. The enchiladas came with refried beans and rice and a small portion of chopped tomatoes and lettuce. As for the fajitas, the plate came out without sizzling and with seemingly more onions than meat (which is the reason for this score of 3). The rest of the meal was flavorful and we enjoyed our dinner overall. Am eager to try the lunch menu one day.
First time and no disappointment. Food was tasting great and Jose R our server was very helpful and kind. I love the outside benches , had to sit for a minute with my grandson. Faves for today : Parrillada Teotihuacan Wet burrito de fajita A really yummy guacamole to start We enjoyed a surprisingly tasty michelada 🙌 P.s. that little green salsa with the chips 🔥🔥🔥
Hey y'all! This spot is in my neighborhood so I eat here a lot. The food is good and I like the salsa. The service isn't always as prompt or attentive as I'd like but you can't have it all, I guess. They do have all day happy hour M-W so that's great but one day I went on a Wednesday and the waiter charged me $18, the reg price for a top shelf Rita. Since then - I don't order drinks. Period. I live close. I'll make my own drinks lol They do have TV's n stuff. Playing futbol and football and other stuff too. I'd rather have music myself. Which is why I gave them three stars. Either way - I do recommend this place often to people cause the food is pretty good. Cheers
First timers! The restaurant was recommend by family. The chips and salsa were great. We ordered a cheese enchilada with a soft taco and a mixed plate with chicken mole, chicken flauta, and chicken quesadilla. Both plates were good with the chicken mole being my least favorite. The homemade flour tortillas were excellent!
I came in on a rainy day and it was pretty busy. There’s tons of seating but it is a little crowded. I came in with a large party and the service was good and accommodating to us. The woman was very kind and helpful. I got a chicken quesadilla and it was light, flavorful, and delicious. The nachos were also very good. I had an horchata and it wasn’t super flavorful but it was refreshing for sure. My family got a quail dish, not the biggest fan but it was a new thing for us to try at a Mexican restaurant. Overall, not bad.
Customer service was great, food was plentiful and delicious. We ordered the fajitas with short ribs, steak, chicken, and shrimp. I think the tortillas were homemade and delicious. Chips and salsa didn't disappoint. The order was enough for 3 people to share, but the food could use a little more seasoning. I definitely recommend trying this place you are guaranteed to find something on the menu to your liking. The frozen margaritas were delicious also!
Service here was amazing. They were incredibly attentive and kind. The food was great! I had their caldo de res and my cousins got a fajita platter and they both tasted great. The rice wasn't my favorite, but it was flavorful. The tortillas here are also not my favorite, but they get the job done. The meat, however, was delicious, well-seasoned, and moist!
I visited this restaurant out of the recommendation of a friend. I read the reviews and the general consensus is that this place is amazeballs. I honestly don't think it was that great and I was really disappointed. My boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant around 1pm on a Sunday. There were people waiting out the door which is always a good sign for me because a poppin place means poppin food. Not so much here in my opinion. We did not wait long which was a pleasant surprise after seeing all the people waiting. The atmosphere is pleasant and enjoyable. It's a good place for lunch with the family or to get giant margaritas with friends. Our waitress was fast but very cold and aloof which is understandable in an extremely busy restaurant. I ordered the mushroom stuffed chile relleno and my boyfriend ordered shrimp cocktail and flautas. My chile relleno was delicious and very satisfying. The part that was really disappointing was the rice and beans. The beans left an odd after taste in my mouth that made me not want to finish eating them. The rice was cold, hard and definitely needed salt. My boyfriend hated his flautas as he stated they were also cold and unflavored. I would go back if its just for the chile relleno or maybe we just ordered the wrong things...but the abundance of people leads me to believe that there has to be something extraordinary on the menu that I definitely missed.
Service was great. Our server was attentive and polite. Meat was thin and with pieces of grease. Beans tastes like mix with canned beans. But they are good. The avocado with crab was good. Overall food was good, but I'll try something else next time. If you're craving steaks, this is not the place.
Took hubby for a bday luncheon here due to his co-worker's recommendation for authentic Mexican food. Entrees we ordered were La Paola, La Chely, and La Silvia. Waitress taking our order actually walked away while hubby was still asking for details on a dish, causing us to stare in disbelief. She eventually came back to take the order and checked on the table 2 more times while we were eating. Portions while huge, were just ok in taste but Tex-Mex, not authentic Mexican. Their complimentary chips and salsa though were fantastic and fresh. Best part of the meal, sadly. We got filled up on them while waiting for the main dishes to arrive. Unfortunately with moody customer service and so-so entrees, this place is just average.
Great food and margaritas, but their prices are soaring. Frankly I'd prefer to cut the portion size a bit over raising the prices.
Mid, had el Angel. Substituted the green sauce for red on the chicken enchilada. Meat was dry and the red sauce had zero flavor. The flauta was good though. The salsa they provided wasn’t hot but flavorful (red) the green salsa was creamy avocado (no heat) You’ll have to ask for a separate salsa that’s a $3 add on which was a sort of roasted jalapeño which was spicy. My girl ordered the tortilla soup. The chicken was shredded but over cooked so it was too firm. She ended up drinking the broth also weirdly enough it had mushrooms in it lol. Overall I wouldn’t come back.
I stopped in with family on a weekday night. Booth seating is a bit tight, but I think that's one of the charms of an older restaurant. Salsa l, chips and the Aquas were fine. I'm one of those types that judges a Mexican restaurant on whether they have Jamaica available and they do. It's not too sugary and not too bland, either. Service was very fun. The gentleman spoke joyously and fast. He was entertaining and added to the experience. Unfortunately, I forgot his name. Our entrees were delivered reasonably quickly, but this was sort of a letdown. My partner's chicken fajitas were a bit tougher than they should have been. The flour tortillas we were served were also off, both hard and oily. It honestly felt like they were made incorrectly or were made days before and reheated for us. I ordered the Pescado Nono. It was an ok dish, but nothing spectacular. In hindsight, I wouldn't order it again. The fish didn't taste special and it probably could've used another 3 min of slower, less heat cooking. Cooking fish too fast results in tougher meat which happened in my case. I noticed that the other members of our table also had about half of their plates leftover. So all around, the food wasn't well received. Great Mexican food is usually hard to find in Houston, as mediocre seems to easier to run into than it should be. Oh well, that's the way it be sometimes.
Overall, the food was good and arrived in a timely manner. The chicken was moist and well-prepared. However, my salad was served on a hot plate, which made it warm—not ideal. Fortunately, the waitress replaced it promptly and without any issues. I did have some difficulty communicating the problem to the server, as her English was limited.
I visited this place after reading positive reviews, but my experience was just okay. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made the overall experience better. However, the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly good either. It was just decent. I wouldn’t be disappointed if I ate there again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. The prices are a bit high, but considering the area, rent is probably not cheap. You could find comparable food elsewhere for less. One major disappointment was the fresh waters. They were not fresh at all. You could tell they were made using a powder or some kind of syrup. The flavor was almost non-existent, and the flavors that did exist tasted artificial. I asked for a tamarindo water, and it was awful. I asked for it to be switched to a lemonade, and it was just as bad. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend traveling to this place to eat. I would only recommend it if you’re nearby and want some decent but not great Tex-Mex. I don’t drink, so I can’t comment on the alcoholic beverages. Also, this place is very loud. I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want to have a quiet conversation.
It's a relatively affordable, authentic Tex-Mex experience in the heart of Houston Heights. I would say the pros are their fresh handmade tortillas are very good, their menu is on the cheaper end compared to most other sit-down Tex Mex places, and the menu is huge with lots of variety. The con I would say is the quality can sometimes be hit or miss but probably comes with the cheaper price tag. Still would come back! Their fajita meat was a bit thinner and not as juicy as I would've liked but still had good flavor Waitresses are friendly and ambience is great and authentic
Disappointingly average-ish food. It came highly recommended, so I was suprised. Maybe they were fooled by the nice atmosphere and the good, friendly service. The red sauce was good (spicy!), but the green 'salsa verde' a la sour cream was very meh. We (two people) had various enchiladas and tacos/fajita tacos. I hate getting cubed beef and chicken in fajitas. I can just imagine a big pile of it sitting in the kitchen going in everything... all the same. And indeed, the same cubes were in tacos, fajita-tacos and enchiladas alike. Yuck. Especially when both the beef and pork cubes (yes, pork too) were over cooked and chewy. When i order freaking fajitas i want strips of grilled skirt steak (or flank maybe, i guess)... strips... that's fajita meat! The Senorita Margarita at about $13 was seriously mediocre flavor-wise for the price too. House made flour tortillas were good. It's back down the street to Spanish Flowers next time.
Food was ok, service was pretty awful. We were seated in the back "patio" next to the small room that they have although there was plenty of tables empty in the main dinner. My waitress had to scramble between taking care of us a table of 3 and a kid and that party room. When our food came out only 2 plates were delivered to our table and the other 2 were left on the table behind us. I got up to get the plates while members of their staff saw me and did nothing (not my waitress) since my waitress didn't come back I got up to ask for a plastic spoon for my kid and before I could say anything to a waitress that was there she sent me to the front. I had to walk to the front and ask the hostess for one. Not once our waitress apologize for anything. Will Not Be going back again.
We went there to celebrate my son's birthday and the "free" birthday dessert was an small cub with only whipped cream... They added the 20% gratuity tip, we didn't know and tipped an extra 15% SO we left the place disappointed and leaving a 35% tip, that explains why was so expensive. After going there almost every weekend we won't be going back.
So I got my food to go third time I go over there and I get the same thing the seafood enchiladas and I could have sworn the last two times the enchiladas had cheese right because they're supposed to have cheese and I'm getting halfway through my food and I notice that there's no cheese where is my cheese???
Yesterday, I decided to take my family out for dinner and we picked this place. When we got there, it was pretty busy, so they seated us in a separate room. Shortly after, our waiter asked if we could move inside, which the hostess agreed to. He took our drink orders and then our food orders. When the food arrived, the waiter checked on us once and then disappeared. We didn’t see him again. There were no refills, no asking if everything was okay, nothing. I even asked two other waiters to find our server, but until then, he appeared. I was getting pretty annoyed, but I stayed calm! Finally, when he came back, I ordered a cheesecake, but it came out plain, without decoration or anything. As I started eating it, I felt something hard and metallic in my mouth. I pulled it out and, sure enough, it was a metal object. I had no idea where it came from, but I couldn’t even tell anyone since our waiter or anyone in charge wasn’t around until I got up from the chair a waiter passed by and I told him “Hey you might need to tell your manager that there was a piece of metal in the cheesecake” and walk out. I left feeling dissatisfied after spending over $140, and honestly, the service was awful. It was a huge letdown.
Ordered 1 lbs of beef and 1 lb chicken fajitas with flour and corn tortillas. When I went to review the food, the guy started taking things out and assured me it was all there. No pico de gallo, no corn tortillas, .75 lbs of beef. When I tried to call, they picked up the phone and left it there without saying anything. Busy tone for 30m+ after attempting to call. We are locals and have spent a good amount of money here, but the service is quite bad.
This place unfortunately is an antiquated establishment living off the reputation of days long past. $13 for Nachos that is literally just 6 (yes SIX)chips with beans, ground beef and cheese. $16 burrito. $14 quesadillas. It’s just not a good experience anymore for how much you pay. I understand why but the quality doesn’t match the price in my opinion.
If you are looking for authentic Mexican food I would suggest somewhere else the menu is very overwhelming couldn’t find my basic plates. Very bland food.
the other night i just order a to-go order, do not be so deceived by 3,000 review cuz the place didn’t even look so good as i suspected the design of the restaurant, there food was also not good! And I Only gotten a side of beans, it was HORRIBLE!! my husband n i love it but those beans were disgusting. One bite!, One taste it was like eating raw, out of date!, dog food. plus you can tell that they were from a can. they were not fresh beans i would recommend to go to gloria’s, there delicious and fresh. plus i felt unease, there were rude service
This evening we had a disappointing experience during our dinner visit. We arrived around 7:20 p.m. and were promptly seated. We each ordered a margarita, and although it took some time to place our food order, we understood it was a busy dinner hour. However, we began to notice that several tables around us—who were seated after us—received their food well before we did. When our plates finally arrived, our server immediately walked off to assist another table without checking on us. We had to call him back just to request water and and additional drink. Another employee noticed our frustration and asked if everything was okay. At that point, I requested to speak with the manager. When Alfonso, the manager, arrived, I explained that our server was not providing us with the same level of attentiveness he was giving to other tables. Basic service elements—such as offering water, checking on the food, or providing condiments—were completely overlooked. What was most disappointing was the manager’s response. After hearing our concerns, he simply said “OK,” turned away, and did not offer a clear solution or reassurance. Only after my husband spoke up did he say he would send someone else to help us. At that point, we decided it was best to pay for our two drinks and leave. As customers, we should not have to guess why we were receiving different treatment, nor should we have to push for the most basic level of service. We live only two blocks away and have visited this restaurant many times, but after this experience and the lack of managerial support, we will no longer be dining here. This visit was deeply disappointing and did not meet even the most basic expectations for hospitality or customer care.
I paid $25 for 2 tacos with some meat on them, for sure more tortilla than meat and half way cook rice, fake guacamole and cup of beans, definitely not charro beans, just brown beans... very disappointed and the place was HOT, and i mean the AC was broken or not working, NOT RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!
