Food is always tasty!!! I love e their green chili burrito!!!
Oh my goodness. I love this place. Their authentic flavors and wide variety of dishes on the menu keep me always coming back for more. I've been eating here for probably about 15 years now and I still love it. Try their tacos. Or their burritos. Try everything. If I had to choose between one of those fancy 30$ Mexican Restaurants or this place, I almost guarantee this place will taste much better and be more filling. Foodie life.
We eat there at least once a week...very often twice a week and have for years. Even sold George furniture at a great price. Food is excellent...wanted to order the $16.99 special..as we often do but our printer wouldn't print the coupon and they wouldn't honor it without the coupon...really??
Delicious mom and pop Mexican restaurant. Pretty inexpensive. Great menu options for small roadside type Mexican. It's a walk up to counter to order (or drive thru) place. I love tamales when done right and the ones here are super Yummy. Also loved my shredded beef taco and the rice and beans were great too. Came here off the recommendation of a friend and she was right about how good it is. (I would not recommend coming here if you're in the mood for chips and salsa - this isn't that kind of Mexican restaurant where you get free unlimited chips/salsa and theirs are just mediocre. Everything else is fantastic.)
Love George's! Best shredded beef tacos around. Love the tamales, Chile Verde, apple burritos for dessert. We moved further away, but still head down to George's at least twice a month. The red salsa they have is so good! Easy drive through makes it perfect!
Their salsa is awesome. Very unique. My only complaint is that the quality of food and service is hit or miss. If only they were more consistent.
Old school originals, George’s does it right. Large servings that are nicely priced and taste delicious. My go to for delicious homemade Mexican food. You will not be disappointed!
This place is awesome! We come here at least once a week for pick up. The staff is very friendly. The food is incredible with portions that are large enough for two meals, in my opinion. It’s a must-try and a hidden gem!
Food and service was good. Plenty of parking too!
There's a reason this place has been here as long as I can remember (40+ years) while many many other Mexican food joints have come and gone !!! The food is awesome, fairly decent prices, carne asada and ground beef is great, my favorite is chorizo and egg breakfast burrito with substituting the beans for rice and adding potatoes and cheese🤤(served all day) and the employees are pretty cool and personable. You definitely WON'T regret going here, best Mexican food around !!!!!
Solid place 10/10. but hours on google are wrong. they don't open till 9am on fridays 😭😭
Good place, the food and service is both pleasant. The atmosphere is good too, the music is okey. I got the Chile Colorado (#27) that was good 👍😊
Best Verde I have ever had. Been going here since high-school food still 2nd to none. Do yourself a favor try it you won't be disappointed
Good food and good prices. I am definitely going back. They have a good size menu.
I thought this place was good. Quick and easy. The wet Carne asada burrito is pretty good 👍
I've been going to George's for many years. My experience as a customer always leaves me satisfied. From the quality of food, friendliness of staff, and reasonable prices, they have a lifetime customer!! I am so grateful to them for their exceptional service to me as a first responder and staying open for me to pick up dinner after work during the covid pandemic when most restaurants and grocery stores were closed before I could get back home. Rodrigo, the mgr is exceptional and went above and beyond his duties to serve me, a customer a meal!! Please help to keep this small business open! You won't be disappointed!
The food here is delicious and affordable. I usually get the chili rellano and its only $1 more for a two item so why not add a taco. Drive through and dine in options available.
Amazing food and friendly service every time! Junk Smiths team love to have lunch at George’s Mexican Food , it is hands-down one of the best local spots in Huntington Beach! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — you can tell everything is made with care. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the staff treats you like family. Whether we’re grabbing burritos, tacos, or their incredible carne asada fries, it always hits the spot. It’s become a go-to lunch stop for our Junk Smiths crew — nothing beats a solid meal from George’s after a long day of work! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food with great vibes and consistent quality. 🌮🔥
I love hard shell tacos, good ones are hard to find. Other places taste & look like store bought corn shells. My sons Robert & Jake bought me some for momma day.
Best Mexican breakfast very clean and great service with a drive thru.
Excellent prices great tasting Mexican food Carne Asada burrito, Carnitas burrito, Carnitas Wet burrito

Stopped by to grab something quick. Servers not very friendly but the food was good. Real quiet.
It’s always a the mom and pops that taste amazing!!!This place seems to be underrated, Because the couple times that I’ve been here it’s not packed either They have fast service or not a lot of people know about it, ! but the food is so good.!!!! I highly recommend this place. It’s not too expensive and the quality and taste of the food is great. This place should be famous!!!
Been coming here for over 40 years. I always get the Carnitas Plate (way back in the day it was the #19). You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
For a quick lunch or dinner on the go George’s is a great little place to go. Been going there it seems like forever. Consistency good food is a staple in probably why they have lasted for so long.
I was working as a teacher in Garden Grove and happened to mention that we were looking for good carnitas. A Mexican aide told me to try George’s! The best around, she thought. We weren’t disappointed!!
Cozy, relaxing. Great food, always very affordable pricing. Nice drinks selection if u want a beer with your meal. Ample parking & sitting space. Always friendly staff. This place is a mainstay in the community. It has upgraded over the years ,& renovated but has never lost its charms, and I've been going there for over 40 yrs. My kids have taken over the mantle. Nice quiet spot for a date too.

I have two favorites here. The shredded beef taco and the chili relleno burrito. The beef in the taco is always on point and delicious. I love the simplicity and the shell is deep fried, but not overly greasy. The chili relleno burrito only has beans and cheese in it in addition to the chili, so the egg and chili flavor totally stand out. It's Mexican comfort food at its best. Everything in it is always flavorful and melts in your mouth.
George’s - A staple fast food restaurant in HB. If you are interested in the quality of the food alone, I rate this a 3. However- the price is great, the service is fast, they never mess up AND it even has a drive through. It’s slightly above average from your normal fast food Mexican joint so I give it a 4 as is beyond expectation.
They offer takeout and drive up window. Food is pretty good and freshly made. Large menu with many choices including burritos and breakfast plates. Salsa bar offers 3 kinds all good. Longer wait for food then usual fast food chain restaurants. Need to program TVs in seating areas better for sports.
Overall a good place to get reasonably priced Mexican food that is great tasting. The tamales are available all year long. They are yummy!
A small hole in the wall mom and pop restaurant that does mostly take out. And the food is good and fairly plentiful. I notice Huntington Beach police officers ordering from there too so you know it must be a good place.

Food is really good. Burritos are big and they're generous with meat inside burritos. Salsa is not so good. Its watered down with a lot cumin. Main reason for 3 stars is drive thru and inside service is super slow. If they fix 2 things wrong I mentioned, they could be the place Huntington Beach goes for Mexican food. My honest opinion
No Al pastor. I asked for spicy salsa and it’s not spicy at all - AT ALL, like it’s not even hot it’s just sweet. Great price though
Ordered tortilla chips nachos, they are served on paper plate 🤢 comes with american cheese, meat, guacamole sauce, pico de gallo, which made them wet and made the plate rip. 🪦 😅 also order tacos, which came with nothing but spicy sauce, no lemon no onions or anything that goes on original tacos. The cashier had no customer service skill and seemed annoyed. Flavor of food was not there, gave it a 2 ⭐️ because i was starving. Place is empty at 2:00pm.
Food is decent, comes in small portions though. The real reason I won’t be coming back here is because the guy taking orders at the drive thru was extremely rude when I told him he got the order wrong. If you can’t do the simple job of taking orders then at least be kind when you mess up. It’s a shame because the women seemed so kind. Sorry, lost my business.
Every single thing that I got was subpar for a Mexican restaurant like this- Del Taco has a better fish taco than George’s. From the dry and bland ingredients to the empty Assad burrito - I’m more than disappointed. If you order it, a salad burrito with no onions just know all it comes with is beans and meat, nothing else. Even the plain cheese quesadilla was so pathetic. The only thing here that was good was the french fries everything else was dry and bland or soggy and I don’t even want new food I just want a refund- $40+ for a burrito- taquitos, cheese quesadilla and fries with drink. Wow!
Order the rolled tacos the menu says 3 but only got two, also says it come with rice and beans but none were given. The portions are way to small to justify the price. There was no customer service at all. Will not be coming back
Super disappointing. I got a taco and a side of beans and rice for $8.99 this looks like it came from a kids meal. Look at that porportion. Especially for a Mexican place. Tasted ok nothing special but overall very disappointed. Come on George's! You can do better!
What is this? My dad ordered a carne asada burrito instead we got a wet grease dripping ground beef burrito. (Not the first time btw) He ended up throwing it away. It’s sad to see another family favorite restaurant go under. Well time to scratch George’s off the list. *sigh
Very dissapointed with the size of the " super tostada" it should be a mini tostada instead, is not that expensive but for the size now I think it is, I can fit it on the palm of my hand , almos 8 dollars dont fall for the price or the picture in the menu, btw Im still hungry

It was ok food, also don't fall for the $1.00 Chili Reno to go with combos, they don't. Kinda can see it as a false advertisement on their menu.

After being a loyal customer of 25+ years I'm officially going to stop spending my money here. The employees are great and most of them have been there forever, but the owner is going ruin this once great restaurant. The fact you can't get a reasonable amount of salsa for a burrito without paying extra is absolutely appalling, a total deal breaker. It used to be crowded all the time but since the removal of the salsa bar it's hardly ever busy. The owner needs to bring back the things that put George's on the map like the salsa bar and take the masks off the employees so customers can interact with human faces again. Until there are changes✌️
Horrendous place! Paid almost $13 dollars for bland, dry and hard taquitos a combo with a tiny salsa with no flavor and a disgusting oily rice... Do not come here! NOT RECOMMENDED!
Update March 2023: these were the saddest tacos I have ever seen. We’ve been coming here for over 30 years and these are the most pathetic tacos I’ve ever been served. Truly disappointing!! April 2022: Probably one of the best deals in town. We always order the same things. Chorizo and egg burrito for breakfast. #21 combo plate for dinner. Their chorizo and egg burrito is simple but delicious. Eggs, chorizo and refried beans in a flour tortilla. It’s exceptionally good with their salsa! A #21 plate is 2 shredded beef tacos with beans and rice. Most local HB folks know about George’s. It’s been here for years!
Came here 3 times b4 I left a review. The food is a D the portions suck and the quality of the food also sucks. Got a burrito last time and it looked like a kids size burrito. This time I got the beef flautas... man do I regret coming here. They look like the frozen ones from a grocery store. Never again...
Just went there today thinking it’ll be good cuz of these reviews on here. Boy was I disappointed 😞 seeing the prices I figured portions will be small but that was okay with me, was just expecting it to be good. My pork burrito (didn’t want beans on it) had nothing in it but pork and green sauce. Pork tasted unseasoned. Just plainly boiled. Carna asada was super chewy and not the best either. Tacos had boiled chicken, unseasoned it seems like 😳 but don’t let me get started on the “quesadilla” that resembled a burrito more than a quesadilla. Wasn’t good at all…and again, BOILED and UNSEASONED chicken. Who does that?! I’ve never not like real Mexican food before. Couldn’t finish it, even tho it was small portions…shoulda gone to chronic tacos 💔
