Ruby's Surf City Diner is known for its excellent views from the pier. The lobster roll and fish and chips are popular, though some find it pricey and inconsistent. Service is generally friendly, but some found the food too salty.
Tip: Go for the views and try the lobster roll, but be aware that some dishes can be inconsistent and potentially too salty.

After a long week working away from home, I went for a walk and found this pearl at the end of the pier. Very nice tasting oysters nicely presented and paired with their own brand mexican lager, while sittning by the window and seeing the sun dropping out of the sky and into the sea. In the background, great music from the 80ies. Great service too, prompt and friendly. Will recommend friends to go here!
An amazing view of the world's largest body of water. The staff there were friendly and helpful. Visiting this place made my trip to California even more enjoyable. Looking out the window and seeing hopeful fishermen alongside visitors who were simply there to see the water while enjoying a delicious meal was quite an experience.
The oysters here are seasonal, and they keep the best that they can. When I came, the Virginia’s were perfect. Lobster roll with butter is pictured and as good as it looks 10/10 all lobster flavor. Big shout out to Phillip for excellent customer service. Glad to see something exceptional at the end of the pier again in Huntington Beach.
As everyone has stated in the reviews, the lobster roll is excellent! We had the butter sauce and it was premium! I prefer the natural taste of the lobster without any added flavored sauces. We also had the clam chowder and coleslaw salad. The clam chowder is the New England style base, but has its own unique flavor and contents. Lots of chopped clams. That soup was excellent too! The coleslaw was actually very good too. Not overly mayonnaised. For drinks, we had the strawberry lemonade. The food was excellent and I highly recommend eating there. View from the restaurant at the end of the Huntington Beach Pier was awesome! Also know that they charge a 3.5% Service Fee on top of the 7.75% Tax.
As visitors from the Bay Area for the 14U travel baseball tournament, NCS Orange County World Series, with our team the Titans, our kickoff team dinner at Broad Street Oyster Company on the Huntington Beach Pier was simply awesome! From the very beginning, Jenna, the Events Manager, was a delight to work with. Planning a group event for 30 rowdy baseball players and their families, with unpredictable game schedules, can be a challenge, but Jenna handled everything with grace and patience. Arriving just before sunset, the view from the upstairs of the restaurant took our breath away. Absolutely stunning! Alex, our onsite point of contact, was incredibly hospitable and kind, managing our chaotic group of energetic teenage boys with ease and a smile. The food? Amazing! The seafood tower was a showstopper – a beautiful display on vibrant, mismatched, brightly colored Crow Canyon splatter enamelware, perfect for our seaside setting. The fresh kettle chips for the caviar service, jumbo prawn cocktail, and those briny little bivalves were all exceptional. And there was something for everyone: from burgers and fish tacos to mouthwatering lobster rolls. Every single dish pleased our group, and not one bit disappointed. We wholeheartedly recommend Broad Street Oyster Company to anyone visiting Huntington Beach. If you're lucky enough to book a party upstairs, do it! You won't regret it.
Broad Street Oyster Company is an absolute gem nestled at the end of the Huntington Beach Pier. This coastal culinary oasis effortlessly blends the laid-back surf culture with an unparalleled seafood experience. From the moment you step inside, the vibrant atmosphere and ocean breeze create an intoxicating ambiance. The raw bar is a seafood lover's paradise, boasting an impressive array of oysters that are as fresh as the morning surf. Each variety offers a unique taste sensation, from the delicate and briny to the creamy and sweet. But the menu doesn't stop at oysters. The lobster roll is a must-try, with its generous heaping of succulent lobster nestled in a buttery, toasted roll. The fish and chips are equally impressive, with flaky white fish and perfectly crispy fries that are the epitome of seaside indulgence. Pair your meal with a refreshing craft beer or a glass of crisp white wine, and you've got the perfect recipe for a coastal escape. The attentive staff adds to the overall charm, ensuring every guest feels like a local. Whether you're seeking a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a lively gathering with friends, Broad Street Oyster Company delivers on all fronts. It's more than just a restaurant; it's a Huntington Beach experience that will leave you craving more.
Excellent food, atmosphere and experience. It’s located at the end of the pier, so great views of the ocean from every seat. The service was quick and everyone working there was friendly. The food was great. I had a simple fish and chips, but next time I’ll try the lobster role!
Two words - Lobster. Roll. We loved it so much we went back the next day!! Seriously delicious lobsters roll and very fresh. I think the bun is a brioche type of bread and it’s so satisfying with all that butter lathered on it. We also go to try the clam chowder which was a more home style-take on the chowder. It was good but not a traditional clam chowder. We also heard great things from someone in our party that had the fish and chips. Altogether, just a great spot on the pier and worth the trek down to the end.
The oysters were fresh and the warm lobster rolls were amazing. The views are also nice. Service is good but you have to order at the counter instead of full table wait service. Definitely worth the walk to the end of the pier.
We recently visited Broad Street Oyster Co. in Huntington Beach and were thoroughly impressed. This new spot, right off the Huntington Beach pier, offers an incredible seafood experience. The lobster roll, with its fresh lobster and warm butter, is a must-try. The shrimp cocktails and fish tacos were just as delicious, and the ocean views added to the whole experience. The vibe here is a perfect mix of laid-back beach and upscale dining. It's a great place to enjoy fresh seafood while soaking in the beautiful scenery. Broad Street Oyster Co. is a standout in the Southern California seafood scene, and we highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
Okay, this place is stinking expensive. So if I'm going to spend $140 to feed my family it better be freaking delicious, and it better be a cool experience! That happened here where the food was phenomenal! Fish tacos were freaking delicious and the clam chowder was on spot! Then add to that sitting in my chair while I eat, watching the massive waves crashing around! Even the music playlist fit perfectly for what we were doing!

The food was amazing! Great quality lobster roll (in the roll you get the claws and knuckles!) And the fish and chips were to die for. Crunchy with the hit of lemon from the zest on it. Definitely worth the trip! Oh and the views are spectacular!

The lobster roll is delicious. We're definitely order it again. It's a small spot at the end of the pier. A little pricey but still good food and it's casual so that's cool. Love the view
The food was really good - memorable. The problem were the service was OK and the portions were quite small. The lobster roll was great, but it was teeny for $25. That was not as big a deal as the mushroom roll, which was also tasty, but there was hardly any mushrooms. I know mushrooms are much cheaper than lobster, so I don’t know what’s up there. It was $1 more to add fries instead of chips, which was strange. The view is amazing and almost worth whatever you pay in food. I really liked the 80s/90s theme! Not kid friendly but they can be there. This place should be about a 4.3.
Quite the satisfying bite, but the price as you could imagine was not realistic. More reflective of the upkeep to this establishment than the flavors of ocean to plate.
Scenic spot at end of pier (formerly Ruby’s). They make great use of the view and have comfortable seating, but pricing seemed excessive for decent but uninspired food with counter service. Lobster roll had large chunks of crab meat on buttery roll. Fine if that’s all you want, but we felt Disneyland’s $14 version was better than this $27 version because Disney adds some flavor and texture complexity to the lobster mix while this one was just lobster, butter, and roll. Disappointed in the calamari steak. This is basically an upsized version of the standard heavily breaded, thin, rubbery calamari served with marinara as an appetizer. We were hoping for the more tender, thicker, lightly breaded version you find at some nice seafood restaurants. Cole slaw was very basic and a disappointment at $5.

Great experience with ocean view . Location cannot be better . Definitely scope of improvement in food and services . Very nice place with lot of scope and can be much better managed which can help grow the customer base .
The food here was not that good. Tried the clam chowder was not good. Couldn’t even finish it, had fish & chips the fries were good, did not like how fish tasted and was salty, had lobster roll was good. Very over priced paid over $100 for that. Would definitely buy a drink and go upstairs for the view only. Would not come and eat here. Not good very good and very expensive.
Such a cute restaurant with amazing views and beautiful decor. Unfortunately the food just didn't pass for me. It's insanely salty. Like eating a whole packet of salt. It is not edible. We never waste food but this one had to go. How sad for the price. Food needs improvement, really hope it turns around bc I've been excited to have a restaurant open at the end of the pier again after years of it being vacant.
This place is located on the end of the pier, so you have the best view in Huntington Beach. Sunset here is spectacular and a must-see. Food is fresh. However, it could have been delivered better. We got the oysters in half shell and the lobster rolls. Oysters are fresh and served with mignonet sauce, horse radish, and lemon. But I wish there's a little more that they added to the sauce to add more flavor, I've definitely had better somewhere else. The lobster rolls are a little overcooked as they were chewy. But the view is priceless.
Being a foodie from the east coast, I had high hopes for the lobster roll. ordered a lobster roll, coleslaw, and a beer. The coleslaw was definitely wanting. Very bland, almost bitter. Ended up only taking a couple bites and not finishing it. Would not recommend... The lobster roll was alright. Not as "lobster-y" as I was hoping, though. It was good, just not sure worth the $30 price point. Can't beat the views though!

Great location at the end of the HB pier, and I had lots of hope for it this afternoon, but I wasn't terribly impressed. The young man who took my order was very helpful and friendly. As far as the food and drinks though, they will ONLY make the drinks exactly as they are written on the menu. Once I placed the order, I went to enjoy the beautiful view upstairs, and although there were only 4 other people in the entire restaurant, every table was covered with dirty dishes. I ended up cleaning off a table myself to sit at. Once the Caesar salad arrived, it was good, but pretty small for a $17 salad. I would have liked some pepper on it, however, there was none to be found or seen anywhere.
The oysters are very expensive and the accompaniments are mediocre but the view is cool. The lobster role is dry and flavorless. The cavier snack is a ripoff. I would not recommend this place. It’s very expensive. And the food is less than mediocre. Avoid.
Lovely views, interesting tourists, only 2 large tables downstairs that fit 6, the rest are 4 tops or 3 tops. The aioli is a masterpiece, the tartar sauce is great, the burger was tasty, the fries are perfectly crisp & seasoned, the lemonade and Arnold Palmer were sweet & refreshing. The service was uninterested. Maybe I'm spoiled by an actual full-service restaurant like Ruby's, but this whole self-seating, order/pickup counter, stand-up-to-go -ask-for-every-little-thing like napkin refills at our table, go weave through the families to self-serve cups of water, remind the staff we need bus service at our table because there's still plates and cups there from the last party... It was all a lot of self-labor, and taking into account the price point: it wasn't worth it. We couldn't even get our table cleaned off with a rag. We had to go ask for napkins and clean it ourselves. We were only given 2 sets of silverware for 4 people and 4 plates. We ended up sharing silverware because after getting up 6 times in a row to go grab things, I was done. I dropped my knife at one point, and legend has it..... the knife ran off to go find a spoon and make a nest under the staircase.

In what world is this lobster roll world famous, i dont know how they managed to make a delicious lobster tasteless , aint bad because it doesn't have any taste is like eating white rice , also shrimp and fries shrimps seems like they are like bag frozen ones , yeah the view is great but other than that is shame , water is free
