Everything on the menu was delicious 😋 I highly recommend the oxtails. Drinks were great dessert was great and the staff was excellent. The owners daughter knows the ins and outs of the menu and her recommendations are not to be taken lightly!
Have been coming to this family-owned business since they were located in Queens. Rudy and his staff are great, food is amazing. Thanks for the great time. THE REYES FAMILY.
This is our favorite Cuban restaurant in NY. The food, drinks, staff and the owner are amazing. My wife and I have supported this business since they were in Queens. They are a little far from us now but we always look for opportunities to go back.
The waitress was super polite and knew exactly when to come and service the table. The food was exceptional. Would highly recommend. Felt like I was eating at someone's home.
If you want truly authentic Cuban food you have to come here. We’ve been coming here since it opened. We travel from Queens that’s how good this place is. The place is the definition of consistent. You know you’re getting a great meal and you’re leaving full. I’m excited for the New Hyde Park location to open. Thanks Rudy.
Wonderful place! Great Cuban Sandwhich for lunch. Reservation necessary for dinner. And try the Mojito! Not too sweet but very dangerous.
This place is by far your best option for Cuban drinks and food on all of Long Island.
Best Cuban food I’ve had in NY. I’ve been coming to this establishment since they were in Junction Blvd as a kid & they are even better now! It was sad to see the old one go, but the new location delivers on all cylinders. My go to as of now is the Vaca Frita w arroz moro, *chefs kiss*. Anyone looking for that homey feeling and delicious Cuban comfort food, look no further.
First time here at Rincón Criollo - service and food was fantastic- loved the atmosphere- definitely will come back - everything was delicious but most of all the family feeling Rudy gave us. Thank you for such a lovely welcome to your restaurant - in abrazo - Mandy and Jaime ♥️
I had never been to a Cuban restaurant before, so we went because my cousin recommended it. I didn't know what to expect, but was confident I'd find something new to try. The meal we ordered were recommended and everything was delicious. The owner came to our table and greeted us. He was extremely pleasant. There were 6 of us and the staff was very attentive and friendly. If you want to try something different this is the place, right on Jericho Turnpike east of Rt. 110 on the south side.
This place is absolutely fantastic. The food was delicious, the service was so good the waiters were super attentive and very nice. Live music was fun and enjoyable. I'm definitely coming back
I am so glad this fantastic restaurant opened up here! Rincon Criollo has authentic Cuban cuisine. The food and service were excellent, as were the cocktails. I also loved the atmosphere. This is an intimate space, so it wasn't crazy loud and noisy. We had a variety of dishes: Ropas Viejas, Rolled chicken with cheese and ham in a delicious sauce, grilled chicken, and flounder in garlic sauce. No one rushed us, we had a great time. I would definitely return!
Great little Cuban place that we have been going to ever since it opened. Great authentic food with many choices. Service is always terrific.
A real gem of a restaurant. Service is great. Food was delicious and the portions were big. Drinks were strong and the price was right. I was really happy with my experience last night and will definitely be coming back here again.
This is the place to go if you want Cuban food! Jessica was great and I enjoyed her service and professionalism! Highly recommend to anyone who wants Cuban food!
As always amazing staff, food, and atmosphere. Garlic sauce a must. On point mojitos, and the new yuca croquettes are amazing. Roasted pork, oh baby... awesome. Also a must ropa viejo, Triple D , 2 time stop.... Guy doesn't kid.. if you haven't gone to either one of their places... you are missing something special. Rudy and Esther are an awesome brother and sister team and have grown this family owned business to something thst would make any family proud of.
Really delicious food across the board. My kids loved it. Service was friendly and on point. Will definitely visit again. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Tasting authentic Cuban flavors with every bite. You immediately feel like this will become your favorite spot to enjoy great food and drinks. From the tantalizing first bite of their delicious empanadas to the moro and lechon, every savory dish you can crave. Their flan for dessert is always a great choice and don't forget their signature Cuban Cafe. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Thankfully it’s far from where I live, otherwise I’d probably end up eating here every night. This place is a must-visit destination with excellent food and wonderfully attentive staff. The quality and flavor are outstanding, and it’s simply impossible to be disappointed with anything you order. I highly recommend it!
I have been looking to go here for a long time and finally did last night. Well beyond expectations. Esther was amazing making recommendations and had awesome energy and aura. All of our meals were fantastic with drinks to match. Dessert unbelievable. Between the service from Esther and her staff to the drinks from Darlene 5 stars is not high enough. They hit on every level. I will be going back with family, friends and coworkers and should be a blast for happy hour.
Food is always on point. I’ve never had a disappointing meal here. This is my go to spot for Spanish comfort food
The staff here is super friendly and they make sure you feel like you are at home. After telling the waiter it was our first time he assisted with what was good to eat an what sides we're best with what you ordered. He came over numerous times to check on us. The thing that was impressive was given extra rice to take come plus we were given a free shot. If it's your birthday they make it a celebration when they sing Happy birthday. Food here was so good. It's a must try place.
Excellent Cuban food, I have lived in Huntington for years and have passed this place so many times, and have only recently tried it, really great restaurant.
If you want the best food in Huntington/Long Island come here!!!! The food here is so delicious and they have the best service and great people. The only thing is that sometimes you have to wait a little but it's fast and you will be glad when you eat their food. (ALSO when its your birthday they have the best celebration ever) Best Place Ever
WOW. That's all I can say! Ok I'll say more... Everything that touched my lips was fantastic. The schredded beef was amazing, the smoked pork chops were off the chart and the chicken with garlic sauce was moorish. The staff was personal, friendly, helpful and fun. Rudy was great... Made everyone feel at home. We ended with the tres leches desert that was ridiculously delishous... Don't share that one... Topped of with a smooth rich Cuban coffee and surprise kiss... You'll have to go there to get one.
Such a welcoming place. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. It’s not easy going out to eat with two babies but they made us feel comfortable, like family. The food was amazing!! The oxtails were delicious and the vaca frita was divine! Definitely recommend and will definitely be going back!
Their Vaca frita and ropa vieja are amazing. Great cocktails too.
So delicious great atmosphere and amazing food everyone is super nice and friendly
10/10, my grandmother whom was born in Nicaragua loves coming here. Feels like home to her and the dishes and snacks are amazing.
If you’re looking for amazing food and a great atmosphere this is the place for you. Taste like grandma is in the kitchen! Not to mention it won’t break the bank. Highly recommend this is our new favorite restaurant in the area.
The menu has foods that some other Latin restaurants don’t have; for example, Galician Potage/ Caldo Gallego, which is a soup whose ingredients include ham hocks, collard greens and white beans; smoked pork chops; liver strips; and guava shells with cream cheese. The alcoholic drinks are potent. I had the passionfruit mojito, which was made with unsweetened passionfruit and rum with a high alcoholic content. The drink was so strong that I had to take some home with me to consume at a later time. I highly recommend Rincon Criollo. It is the real deal!!!
Absolutely delicious food. The vibe and the service made you feel like you were in for a warm homemade cuban meal — and that is exactly what it was. I’d come back here regularly
We’ve been loyal customers of this restaurant for over twenty years, and it has never once disappointed. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted like family. The staff goes out of their way to make every visit special—remembering names, favorite dishes, and always making sure you’re comfortable and cared for. The service is warm, attentive, and consistently outstanding, making the dining experience feel like more than just a meal. The food is truly the star of the show—authentic, flavorful, and made with care. Every dish is a testament to traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients, whether it’s a comforting classic or a seasonal special. You can taste the passion and pride in every bite. After two decades of visits, we can confidently say this place is not just a restaurant—it’s a tradition, and we’re grateful to be part of its story.
This place has a proud heritage, excellent food, and is run by a very sweet family dedicated to excellence. I am in love with this restaurant. If you love Cuban food, you gotta go here.
Highly recommend! Food was spectacular and service outstanding. No need to go to Cuba, just come visit Darlen and Esther for great food and an amazing time 🍷
Food and service were excellent. Reminded me of a few places in Miami that I used to go to. Highly recommend!
Everything about this restaurant screams Cuba! The decor, the atmosphere, the staff and most importantly the Food! There is outdoor seating providing the full flavor of Cuba with the checkered table cloths, tropical plants and more.
Was introduced to this restaurant when it was in Queens, loved it. When I heard they relocated to Huntington was very happy. Consistency has always been the same from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. Just on customer service alone as soon as we walked in and the owner greeted us and recommended the frozen lemonade for my son, he said dad this place is great. Food was on point. Definitely recommend.
Food and drinks are fabulous - this is coming from a girl who grew up in a Cuban household eating lots of Cuban dishes. The staff is also wonderful and fun to be around. Sitting outside with live music is also a real treat you should try to plan your night out around. Wish I took more pictures but we started digging in immediately!! All the meats were just so tender 😋
I like trying new restaurants and have always had a good experience with Cuban food. So, for my grandfather’s 82nd birthday I decided to take him here. The staff was very welcoming and our waitress, Camila, was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped made my grandfather’s birthday special. I hope to be back again soon.
Raul was an excellent waiter very nice, entertainer, funny, helpful etc. food was delish, we ordered Ropa Vieja, chuleta de puerco & filete de puerco a la plancha! Everything was delish & perfect, drinks on point! Raul def was the best part of our dinner. Thank you Raul for your amazing service & personality! We appreciate you. No pics of food hehe so apologized for that. We were too hungry lol
Went to the Huntington Station location. Great atmosphere. Food was authentic and delicious 😋. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Loved it, will definitely go back.
This Cuban restaurant isn't just a meal, it's an experience. Stepping inside feels like stepping into a bustling Havana street. The walls are adorned with Cuban scenes, and the tables and chairs transport you straight to a local cafe. But the real star is the food. Portions are generous, and every entree comes with two sides – and what sides they are! The rice and beans are perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the fried yucca is a revelation, especially with a side of their garlicky sauce (trust me, garlic lovers, ask for it!). The flavors are as authentic as you'll find outside of Miami. I've even been to Miami for Cuban food, and this place stacks up! (My Cuban friends say it’s authentic!)they used to be in Queens, and I'm excited to try this new location in New Hyde Park. If you're looking for a fun, flavorful, and authentic Cuban dining experience, look no further!
first time that I'm here..what a nice place! sat outside and in times of Covid it was still very nicely decorated ! family owned and operated as we were told by one of the owners.. food was fantastic full of flavor! having lived in the Miami area for many years this was actually a awesome treat.. even the coffee tasted authentic and delicious 😋 I don't live anywhere near here (about 2 1/2 hours away) but having been here for a little exploration of Long Island.. this might be a reason to drive up here! so in conclusion- a great place with delicious food and super friendly staff!
Amazing experience! Food is delicious and authentic Cuban! Wait staff are fun and lively. A great time. Be sure to get a reservation, small dining area. We enjoyed our meals so thoroughly we did not take pictures. The ham croquettes are a must! The Ropa Vieja was delicious as was the Vaca Frita with plantains or Moros y Cristianos.
Everything we’ve ordered since we’ve been going the last few years has been delicious, food, drinks and desserts. Very friendly staff. Lively atmosphere especially when you’re celebrating an occasion like birthdays. Wish they had a location closer to Selden. We travel to the Huntington Station location because it’s worth it.
The food, the service are both impeccable. Have been on Long Island for 18 years and this is the best Caribbean food on Long Island. The people are amazing. It's been 10 years my husband and I have been coming here and it never fails to put a big smile on our faces. They're amazing
This place never disappoints. The food is great and the drinks are also impressive. Just tried their passion fruit mojito for the first time and it was delicious. I'm a return customer and will continue to be.
Rincon was an iconic place to visit in Queens (Junction Blvd) throughout its history there— I was sad to see It close there but I’m so glad they are able to continue serving amazing dishes and build a beautiful new legacy. This restaurant is a MUST for great Cuban cuisine! Worth the trip!
I came in here expecting an authentic cuban experience and that’s exactly what i got. A1 food and service. Shrimp with spanish sauce and the oxtail were incredible. Don’t hesitate to go here for lunch if you ever pass by the area.
What an awesome place! Went there for a surprise birthday party for a good friend of mine and boy did I enjoy myself. The staff was super friendly, even though my kids were annoying everybody. I danced with the waiter, enjoyed great food, they provided great music and a great environment. First time at a Cuban restaurant and I would definitely go back for dinner in the future.
How the heck had we not been here before I do not know. Best criollo/Cuban food on the island. I'm from PR and this was just like from home. The owner is amazing, as was the staff. The sweetest bartender makes great cocktails! You know they mean business when the Carajillo Martini starts with freshly brewed espresso shot. The oxtail was perfection. As were the moros, maduros, bistec, bacalaitos, tamales, flan de Coco, 3 Leches, TODO!! Pics suck as we were too busy having fun and enjoying the amazing food and hosts. Can't wait until my dad visits from PR to take him there. 😅
A blast from the past!! As a child I grew up eating at their original restaurant in Queens. It is great that all these flavors and service has transferred perfectly. You know that scene in Ratatouille where the critic remembers his childhood? *That* is exactly what it felt like for me.
Went there for dinner friday night, the staff was very courteous and friendly, the wait was not too long, the place is a little small, it gets crowded, excellent food, very extended menu, good drinks, lots of choices , the service was fast they really do a great job, is was a pleasure to eat there.
Food was ok. I wouldn’t say it’s bad, just not my cup of tea. Has beautiful outdoor seating. Staff was very friendly.
The staff were EXTREMELY nice and service was great. WeI had the Roast Pork and Pork chop entrees that came with yuca fries, rice and beans. Both of us felt that we liked the taste of pork chops were heavily salted. The coffee and Flan dessert was very good. If I did return I'd tell them no salt.
Cute Cuban restaurant with a comfortable feel. Solid 4 stars. Would go again. Dinner was a family affair and the chaos of a random eight person party showing up did not slow them down. Bread promptly devoured and the plantain chips with garlic sauce also disappeared in moments. Croquetas were not my favorite, the inner texture always throws me off. Chorizo, beautifully done. Overall the dinner was a success. The best meal hands down was the smoked porkchops followed by the vaca frita. The fried pork was a bit well done and was the least favorite of all along with the tostones which were too dry to eat. Oxtail was juicy and the deserts were sweet and disappeared faster than I could find out what were. Lechon assada was flavorful. tender, and moist The hot chocolate dip for the churros was amazing, I'd dip almost anything in that and eat it! Natilla was a sweet custard treat, a real compliment to dinner.
Fave spot to celebrate all things good with my husband. The manager and head servers always welcome us and make sure to get us a table, no matter how busy they are. Often there is authentic, live music. Top reason I come here is the Coconut Mojitos! Complimentary after dinner liquer wraps the meal up perfectly. Only wish is that they expand.
Food wasn’t too good, small portions and didn’t taste fresh…..The dishes only come with one side and don’t include a salad or anything like that… A bit expensive for what they offer.
I went with a group of 8, there was another large group and the dinning area was mostly full. The food was ok, but the kitchen could not keep up with the orders at all. It took over a half hour from the first app to the last app to be delivered to our table. The entrees were the same.... like I said the food was ok, but there was no consistency. There were 2 pork chops in one order, one was way over cooked and the other was slightly under. The special small tamales changed in flavor, dryness, and over all spice level through out the tables order. Overall the food seemed rushed and lacking depth, I can only assume this is because the kitchen was being overworked at the time, since they have a lot of great reviews. Even our waitress seemed to have trouble keeping up with all her tables, though it did seem that she was trying to. I would give this restaurant another chance if I was in the area, but not with a group larger then 4 at a time. Plantains were the best part of the meal, and the chorizo when cooked fully was also very tasty!
Not a "bad" meal but not a repeater for us. We had a reservation for 8, arrived early, and still ended up waiting for our table (not a huge deal). When we eventually sat down it took a while for someone to come over for drinks (they really tried to push the alcoholic ones) and then even longer for the food to get ordered. The sangria came (a 32 oz "full carafe" for $30) and kinda just tasted like watered down wine, but maybe that's just their style of sangria. The food eventually came out (an hour after we sat down) and was just kinda "lack luster" like someone forgot to season stuff. The service was pretty solid and the staff was very friendly. The food was pretty decently priced for the area and to give them credit, had a very diverse menu (not your generic Mexican restaurant menu). The atmosphere inside the restaurant was a little chaotic, as it's a very small & packed dining room so it was loud, paired with live music coming from the bar side. Parking was a little creative but probably not an issue if they aren't super busy. Like I said, not a bad meal, but perhaps the previous reviews set our expectations too high.
The food was good, but for the amount you pay, it's not worth it. I am from South Florida, and here you get a vaca frita with three sides and a decent amount of la vaca frita for $15-$17. Here, are not so many two sides and not much of a vaca frita for $30 plate. Had mojitos and they where alright. Maybe I am spoiled but I will only stick to eating Cuban food in South Florida.
Poor first experience. Placed a take out order. Gave them 40 minutes to make a Cuban sandwich and sweet fried plantains. 30 minutes late. Ignored me the whole time, then gave me “extra napkins” like that makes up for it.... and didn’t bother to thank me for my patience or patronage. Cuban was OK. Flavor was pretty lame. Plantains were delicious but for $6 they gave me literally 4 pieces. That’s ridiculous. Nice ambience inside and I bet they have some truly good food. But as a first experience, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back.
Very bad services by my server..the others tried to help because my server was doing something else (chatting with other employee) came just one time after the food came, almost at the end .Food is nothing wao. Not Cuban flavors at all..Just the black beans had flavor..
Check your bill. A built-in gratuity right on the bill plus recommended tip in addition. Not a customer friendly practice.
Not very happy with the food. The ropa vieja was very salty. The arroz moro was super dry. The service was okay. I guess rincon criollo is just not the same anymore. Today was our last day ever eating there again.
Hello my Google friends, I'd like to say a couple of words about El Rincon Criollo in Huntington at 16 West Jericho turnpike in Huntington station, to begin we had a birthday party 4 my godfather's guardian angel -ochun there on Monday the 4th of November, a verbal contract was agreed upon for the event, and although the wait service was outstanding, and the waiters were very attentive to all of our family members and Friends, and the food was magnificent, the service that we were provided was not what was agreed upon at contract with the owner. The food was not enough for everyone to have their good fill, the drinks promised we're not received, the beers we're completely overpriced by the owner, although he had regular price of beers on a board behind the bar, an ice sculpture which was ordered was turned away by the owner when it was being delivered without notifying anyone from the party, which were there setting up, and at the end of the night when it was time to settle the bill, the owner tried to over price, and go back in his word, after having set a price at the verbal contract meeting, we believe this is why he didn't want anything in writing. I believe and find that to be very disrespectful, and unprofessional. This location should not host parties or events. They should stick to only their walk-in customers. Unfortunately although the food is wonderful, the owner Lacks professionalism when it comes to contracts, his word is less than valid, and his attention to his paying clientele, is appalling. He has a good demeanor about him, but I believe that that is to mask his greed. My family and friends have never been treated this way at a restaurant, especially when they're holding an event for us, which good money is spent on, I would not recommend this place for hosting any events, parties, or anything that is over 4 to 6 people... And the funny part is, that the owner kept expressing how surprised he was that we were able to get over 60 people there for the event on a Monday, as he said he has never had a good Monday in his location. And that Mondays are very slow for him, and he can't express how much he appreciated us. To show appreciation you have to show professionalism, honesty, and integrity. Needless to say some people need to learn manners, and how to run their business properly. I am totally boycotting this place, and will continue to post a review on Yelp and any other social media at my disposal. To much money was spent, for this to have gone the way it went. And although most of the people that attended were not informed of all this drama on the evening of, I'm letting you all know now. Don't go back there, unless you're ready to get screwed. Love you all, thank you for listening or reading, and I ask you boycott this place as well, as a show of support.... And share on your page as well.... Let everyone know, so this doesn't happen to them
This was easily one of the worse meals I've ever had. I ordered the Sunday Chef Special (pork, rice and beans, and yuca) and everything looked and tasted old. The pork was dry, shredded, and with onions as if someone just dumped them on top, the rice and beans were clumped together and dried out, and the yuca was pale, waterlogged, and completely unseasoned. Nothing tasted fresh. The entire plate seemed reheated and thrown together with no care. For something called a Chef Special, this was shockingly garbage quality. The waiter was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately good service couldn’t make up for the trash food.
