Opinions de DQ Grill & Chill Hyde Park
We were very happy to find a DQ in Hyde Park. Mom had been wanting a buster bar and it was perfect timing.
First time there in years, food and service were very good. Price was reasonable for what we had.
They are fast, convent, tasty and I just love the size of the mini Blizzard and their chicken basket with white gravy!!!
Best cheeseburgers ever , the onion rings are massive and the chocolate milkshake I could have 1 every day 10 stars customer service is also the best
Cashiers are always friendly and helpful. Food is always hot an fresh. I will continue to support them
We went for a quick meal and ice cream. They had a great meal deal. So many choices to chose from.
Come on, it's Dairy Queen. Only had a blzzard.. Delicious! Carmel Cheesecake Ice Cream
We usually go through the drive thru to get ice cream. Usually quick service. (Local)
Every visit goes according to plan
Great place me and my dad went there and we loved it better then most fast food restaurants
Love the flamethrower burgers. We usually make it an office lunch excursion. Needless to say, post-lunch productivity is way down.
Great friendly staff. Always clean. When it's busy, drive thru location can be a bit of a traffic jam! All in all, I mean, who doesn't like Dairy Queen !!
It's Dairy Queen..... they're always fantastic!
You can't find anything wrong with a Dairy Queen. Except maybe that there's too much to eat! This Dairy Queen is in an optimal location, and service is good.
I would go to this establishment for a "blizzard" in the middle of a blizzard!!! Lol, I have been a fan since my childhood and consider myself blessed that this place to eat is still around to be enjoyed even though there aren't as many thereof as there were 30 years ago!!! Long live Dairy Queen!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice and friendly young kids work there, and are an asset to their business. Gives them a good image. You really don't see that to much these days. I always use the drive thru.
Generally not a problem ,but tonight 10.36 for fries n shake n the Fries 3 hours later my stomach from the Soaking greasie fries ,they tried to revive !!! Shame on you !!
Kaitlyn has made my Ice cream visit so much better then any other ice cream stand I have ever been at.
I can’t say enough good things about the service I received from this Dairy Queen in Hyde Park. Long story short, I thought I ordered an ice cream cake from the Wappingers store online for my daughters birthday. Come to find out they don’t even take on line orders and we’re beyond rude and disrespectful. I even had an email confirmation from the Wappingers Store confirming my order. Now, I didn’t have a cake for her birthday. Any good parent knows what a disappointment that could be for a birthday party! My husband then called the Hyde Park Dairy Queen and they made a cake and had it ready for pick up with such short notice! They even took special care when making the cake because we have a peanut allergy. I can’t thank them enough for saving the day and I will always take my money to this store to support a business who will go the extra mile! It is so appreciated!
Best chocolate shakes ever! They still make them using mixers, not pre made. The choices of ice cream products is great. Char cooked burgers are also banging. Gotta love the DQ. Highly recommend.
Archie Handsome, our Labrador loved his pup cup and some vanilla ice cream
Cute little spot with great ice cream. Employees are cool, foods great
the best dq ever food is fresh to order ice cream always on point service is wonderful
When me and my hubby want a nice treat we come to DQ baby!
A nice spot for a quick treat or fast food type meal. Take out or eat outside at their metal picnic tables under the eaves. The $7 meal deals are amazing. You get either 3 large chicken strips with your choice of dipping sauce or a cheeseburger with all the fixings. Value meals come with fries, a medium-sized fountain drink, and your choice of sundae all for $7!
My childhood fav place never disappoints. So happy to visit each time I visit my mom in Pok.
We really went to use our free Sunday coupons that we get. We get their chicken and cheeseburger baskets all the time. Good ice cream and good food.
We love Dairy Queen ice cream. Tgis is the only reason to visit. The food options are limited. Lack of a public restroom meant a frantic potty search for our lil one..
The Dairy Queen is great! The staff is usually young people, but they are usually very cheerful and willing to help. The food is really good, we like the honey BBQ strips. But it's the ice cream that wins it all, it's usually very good. Some mixes aren't quite as good, but even the bad ones taste good. Highly recommend.
I've been going here since I was a kid and now can share the experience with our 3 year old son! We ordered some food and some ice cream and all of it was great! The caramel fudge cheesecake blizzard was delicious as well as the blue raspberry slushie! Our son loved the chicken bites and the double cheeseburger was just how my husband likes it! I had a crispy chicken sandwich which was also very delicious. All of the food was hot and prepared when we ordered it. The staff was very friendly and made sure our order was correct. Will definitely recommend to anyone and of course will be returning!!
Icecream, milkshakes this time. Yummy. Last time burgers fries and onion rings. Delicious food great service.
Surprisingly good food and great ice cream. Pretty fast friendly service at fair prices
What can I say? DQ it's DQ! The ice cream, Sundays and food is great!
Wish they'd given us our total when finished ordering, it was a bit of a $urprise. 🫣 But it tasted excellent!
Their ice cream is a little pricey. But their lunch specials that included Sunday are fantastic and a good value
The food is as good as always, but their prices are getting a little out of hand... it was $60 for 3 meals and a small blizzard each.
Small menu for lunch but very good burgers. Have to ask for condiments. Staff was nice. Clean.
The Hotdogs are amazing. They just need too add coleslaw to their menu. Cause coleslaw on a hotdogs is just delish.
Great icecreme at a fair price. Always busy. Service is just alright. They often close early even if they see you walking towards the window.
Dairy Queen it's nostalgia for me. I like that they use fresh strawberries not that gelatin garbage that another place uses.
Very good as always. Only adverise double stack burgers but o ly wanted one patty. He said sure but charged me for and got me a double anyway
Great ice cream and really good cheese burgers.
Their blizzards are great. They also have good food. There are tables w/ benches to sit at. A few tables are away from the building by some tree's for a nice shady spot. This DQ also has a drive thru. DQ is located in historic Hyde Park. The Franklin D. Roosevelt home & library and the Vanderbilt mansion are not that far from DQ. And if your just looking for a quiet place to enjoy your ice cream you can drive down to a small park by the Hudson river. The old Hyde Park rail road station is there.
Ice cream and sundaes are delicious and the service is great but please and thank you would go a long way staff had no manners
Very quick turn around time on my food and very pleasant staff. The parking lot can be a pain to get out of but not a detractor from the experience
If you like soft serve ice cream dairy Queen place to go. Also good selection of food items.
It is very expensive but the ice cream is so damn good. The food is a notch above your typical fast food but isn't even remotely memorable. The ice cream leaves me entirely conflicted. I want to rate lower but the peanut butter cup blizzard I just ate has assumed control of my being.
Even when there is a line it moves quickly. It's reasonably clean most of the time. Their Ice cream isn't really ice cream but ice milk so it's a little less creamy and doesn't stick to my tongue so much and that's how I like it.
Great place to grab a quick bite to eat and let's not forget the ice cream. The staff always friendly and make sure your order is made fast and correctly.
Chili dog and fries and lemonade. All cooked right. Staff friendly. Would go back. Love their peanut buster sundae!
Ice cream is OK. Just expensive. Over $6 for a blizzard. They close early too. Kids wanted ice cream at 9.10 on a Thursday evening and the place was dark. Small outdoor seating area available.
Dairy Queen has some of the best soft serve ice cream. The vanilla and chocolate ice cream tastes the way ice cream should. We have tried other neighborhood ice cream shops and the ice cream does not taste as good. The blizzards and milkshakes are delicious. The service is good without having a long weight. They also serve burgers, fries hot dogs, etc.
No indoor dining on a brutally hot day.
Basically it was interesting to learn that the good was quite good and when we returned for ice cream, it was extremely disappointing, rather watery and quite expensiveCarvel did a much better job very creamy. Staff was very nice
The workers are great AND friendly! Line moves fast! WARNING ⚠️ The cookie dough flavor tastes absolutely awful. Whatever you do, Do not get the cookie dough! Otherwise enjoy!
Great place to go hang out and get ice cream. They have a decent amount of outdoor seating. They also have a drive though but I believe the machine is broken because any time I try and order the individuals working can’t hear me and I have trouble hearing them. It is incredibly hard to communicate with the staff through the drive through. They do have a gluten free/ vegan option which is awesome! One of my favorite spots to visit in Hyde Park during the warm weather.
Shakes and desserts are great, food is ok. Prices are high compared to Holy Cow ice cream.
They got our order wrong and took so long we didn't want to wait to have it fixed. The food we did receive was tasty.
Hard to read the menu board. No public restrooms. Ice cream was cold and tasty.
Just a tip... when a customer requests ketchup and mustard "ON THE SIDE"....for fries and maybe a little more ketchup is desired on the burger... that doesn't mean add all extra ketchup and mustard on to the burger itself!
My Small Summerberry Cheesecake Blizzard Treat was only ok because I expected fresh berries in it - not the frozen berries I got. DQ needs to get with fresh, seasonal fruits that are being sold in local markets.
It's been a while since I've been to a DQ, and compared to my local ice cream place, it's quite expensive, and the ice cream is no better than my local (non-chain) place. No thanks!
It's good for a quick ice cream. Prices are a bit high for what you get. If you want a good ice cream for your money, go to Eveready next door.
The food is perfect, but every time I go there I get the chicken basket and no matter who's working it's like a sin to ask for both honey mustard and gravy...heaven forbid I want both!
pot smoking kids at the table next to us outside- the girl inside said "i really cant do anything about that". is yuck- do it at home- I dont want that smell near me
5 stars for the staff, they couldn't be more friendly or attentive. I haven't been to DQ in years, this reminded me of why, expensive mediocre ice cream. Wasn't worth the calories or cost for my taste.
Had a pleasant visit. Ice cream was very good, social distancing protocols observed adequate outdoor seating. Recommended it as a place to start returning to "normal".
Been coming here for years, always hot food and seemingly fresh. However they told me today that they no longer offer juliuses. That was the highlight for coming here. Would have gotten 5 stars for a quick food restaurant if they did. Bring back the Orange Julius!
It was fine, expensive but it was alright actually. I m not sure I'd go again only because it was a little costly. $7 for a Blizzard is just a little bit for my taste
If you're hungry for some ice cream, this is the place for you. They have cones, cups, sundaes in many different flavor combinations and you can order it as big or small as you'd like. If you're looking for a meal to eat before your ice cream then I suggest that you go somewhere else first.
I had a blizzard which was good but expensive.
Stopped by for a couple of blizzards. No Reeses Pieces, so settled for Peanut Butter Cup. Also ordered Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie Blizzard. Watched it being made. They put green mint flavored syrup in it... eewwwwww! And didn't mix it up real well, so syrup was floating on top. Cookies had no flavor, so may not have been REAL Girl Scout cookies.
I ordered a peach cobbler blizzard. It tasted like cough dough, not cobbler at all and canned peaches (including the corn starch) will definitely not order that again. My order was quick, line was surprisingly short for a hot summer day. Tables were clean.
Decent ice cream and fast food, ordered at two completely separate windows, so you have to transact twice to order a burger and sundae (due to the 'Rona, it seems). No dine-in, but there is al fresco seating, most of which is sheltered. Friendly, efficient staffers, and well-maintained facilities. You get a number and are called to the window, like the DMV... except with a bit more tender loving care. Across Route 9 is a motel, in case you need to crash into a ice cream-induced coma. The drive-through is constant, so if eating on site, order no sprinkles on your ice cream since it'll be garnished by the hydrocarbon exhaust crystallizing on your dessert.
I was just at the hydepark store ,I wanted a 6 piece chicken strip basket ,the girl said i could not have it due to a chicken shortage, but allowed me to buy 2 four piece baskets,in which I think made no sense because I only needed 6 pieces ,can you explain the stupid in this thank you .
No indoor dining area. No Senior Discount. No refills on soda. No bathrooms. Thought the burger was on the greasy side. Haven't been there in awhile and more likely than not, will not return.
The food was bland and unsatisfying for the price. If you're going to spend this much on fast food, make the trip to Five Guys -- the shakes are better there too.
They messed up our order a few times Can be a little costly Food is good though Icecream is very watery
Popcorn shrimp basket was so-so, crispy on the outside but not so much on the inside. Fries were ok, the only really good part was the root beer float and they forgot to give me a spoon which took me a few minutes to get because they were busy. I know it's only fast food but $12.50 is a lot for a blah meal.
good ice cream. expensive. slow service even with a lot of employees behind the window. all but 3 were incredibly rude, one of the girls threw our ice cream on the counter while i was asking one of the other employees about lids for our ice cream.
I enjoy frequenting Dairy Queen. The food is good for the most part and the ice cream is always good. With that said, I have to speak about my experience today and in prior visits. I pulled into DQ just wanting to get some take out thru the drive thru. When I pulled in, we were the only car in the drive thru. I male voice came over the speaker. I placed my daughters order first and then placed mine. I had to repeat my drink choice (coke) 4 times. I had had to correct him on mine and my daughters orders. He wanted to give my daughter a flamethrower burger, and mine was off by a few details. After the corrections were made, we pulled up to the window. Where we then sat for 13 minutes. We ordered two burgers and a fry and cheese curd with drinks. At no point did anyone say it was going to be a little while, no one apologized for the wait. As a matter of fact, I was just handed the bag and looked at strange when I opened the bag to examine the order. In the past my orders have been messed up and I wanted to double check. Order looked good enough to leave. We returned home to only have my daughters burger be wrong, but mine was wrong too. No napkins or sauces were given or asked about either. I wasn’t going to drive back. In years past I’ve never had this issue with our local DQ. This spring / summer, it’s happened 4 times. Your employees were not over whelmed with customers, it was me in the drive thru and a older couple eating outside at one of your tables. Please speak to your employees about customer service. I wouldn’t have minded waiting if it was communicated to me. I’ve had many pleasant experiences at your DQ but after a few times now, I felt the need to speak up. This is the first review I have ever written. Hopefully that alone says something.
Just ok. Tried the new cotton candy dipped cone. Really hard to eat because inside was melted and shell too hard to eat through. $4,75 is a little pricey for a medium cone that is smaller than most small cones at home made stands.
This afternoon, I ordered a large Mint Oreo Blizzard at this location through the mobile app. I picked up my order in the drive thru. Upon tasting it, I realized immediately that it was strawberry flavored and made incorrectly. I returned to the drive thru, showed my completed order to the employee, and the employee agreed to remake the order. Before my order was remade, another employee came to the window, I showed her the completed order information on my phone so that she could verify my order, and she asked for the incorrect order back. I stated that I already tasted it and asked why she wanted it back. She states that she is going to throw it away and that she couldn't provide me the correct order without receiving the incorrect one back. When I asked her why she would rather throw away the product that allow me to keep it, she said because she couldn't give me two Blizzards and only charge me for one. I asked for the manager and this employee told me she was the manager. I asked to speak to the owner and she asked why as if the answer to her question wasn't obvious. She would not supply contact information for the owner of the location, closed the drive thru window while I was speaking once I gave her the incorrect product back, and returned to the window with the correct order. I'm leaving this review in the hopes that the owner of this location reads it and takes corrective action with the staff. It costs the restaurant nothing to allow a customer to keep incorrectly prepared food rather than throwing it away which is why no restaurant I've ever been to has asked for the food back in such a situation. Throwing away food a customer could otherwise still eat is the equivalent of intentionally throwing the customer's satisfaction (already damaged by not receiving the correct order) in the trash. When someone asks to speak to the owner, that person should receive the contact information for the owner not a childish attitude in response. I would be happy to communicate with the owner to follow up. Thank you.
The mini blizzards I ordered weren’t served upside down and they were all watery and melting very quickly and also bland in taste and expensive. 5 dollars for a tiny cup. I complained to someone who seemed to be a supervisor and she replaced my mini blizzard but she had kind of an attitude and then she slammed my mini blizzard on the metal counter almost making the cup fall down to the side. Very unprofessional. Highly dissatisfied. Save your money and go somewhere else.
They didn’t give us the 4 blizzards we payed for. Somehow gave us a random milkshake. And also didn’t give us the 2 drinks that came with the meals they gave us. Crazy.
Worst experience! Completely messed up our order and when we went back to get our correct order then still didn’t get it right Also they gave us such an attitude when they screwed up the order.
If I could do a negative number I would .FOUR times in a month I stopped for honey bbq chicken .No sauce EVERY TIME. No coming here anymore. Rather drive 25 minutes to Parnassus .
Lovely place but toppings are far from what I’d expect or have experienced at other wonderful Dairy Queen establishments
The rudest workers I have encountered. They were not helpful AT ALL. I was given an attitude as soon as I came to the drive thru. It is as if they were forced to do this job. Will not be returning.
8 bucks for two medium cones that were the size of a small cone, better off going to grocery store get a half gallon for a third of the price... don't waste your money...
Blizzard was not frozen nor was it served upside down. Asked about it people said they don't do that anymore for service poor customer service very high price for not getting what you want
I wish I can give less than a star, second time our ice cream is melted, the car in front of us added to their order and of course our Ice cream on the side is melting while they make the other customer item. I said it's melted and the cashier respond was I just made it, and I saw it setting on the side. Asked for extra napkins and she said I can't hear you, I repeated myself twice then she still can't hear me, I had to raise my voice, for her to hear me, then she's questioning why I'm I screaming!!! Not nice and not helpful staff. Will never go back to this location.
Today 4/4/18 I ordered a mini blizzard (turtle).. what I got was not cold.. all chocolate and the consistentsy of soup.. I asked what happened because I could not hold the blizzard upside down? The reply was we don’t honor that guarantee here. I said why? Reply was we just don’t. I said 4.00$ is a bit much for this.. not even 4 ounces of chocolate soup.. no response. I’ve been going here for over 30 years it is way out of my way.. everything and the service included was always consistently good. Until today.
Maybe I am used to DQ Texas, I have been to a ton there. They all have bathrooms and don't have a tip jar. I got both combo meals and ice cream for my family and we spent time there eating and had to rush out to find a bathroom. At least get a porta potty DQ Hyde Park.
Went there for ice cream with my son. 2 small cones cost $9 plus. Was the smallest possible cones ever. Was barely few bites each. I did order a small not a kiddy cone. For $5 each ….come on people. Freaking rip off.
The Dairy Queen in Hyde Park is the worst restaurant in New York state. Rude and deliberately forget orders if you are someone of color. And when they "fix it" they don't even call out to let you know that your food is there. It just sits there until you guess that your food is ready. I witnessed the change in how they speak with myself and a family of whites. Forget the fact that I am half white. They do not see it there. After spending 60 dollars for my twin sister, because that's what she wanted for Mother's Day, we are met with disdain and disrespect. I will never ever go there again to order food.
