Opinions de Chinese food Indio
Definitely a hole in the wall in a not so great part of town. Once you're inside it's fine. The food was fantastic and the portions large and a great value. Very busy little place. Definitely recommend 👌
The best Chinese food around and the give you lots. The pork in the fried rice seems to be pretty dry at times but other than that I love the place. Im a meatatarian and always order my food with no vegetables and they are always eagar to please. Great folks, great food, good prices, what more do you need. Oh yeah cold beer. They got that too.
The service is great always has and continues to. The food is always hot made to order, very fast service and fresh. Never had an issue! Thank you Kowloon staff you guys are my favorite spot to hit with my family!
Absolutely delicious. Portion is amazing and make sure your super hungry 😁. Service is very nice and on task.
Very old and very nice, I swear this place is amazing and can feed you at lunchtime and still give you enough leftovers to stuff you around dinnertime. Also I love the paper table mats there showing you what animal you are based off of your year.
Cool service good prices best Chinese wonton soup Coachella and Indio I think the best Chinese food of Coachella festival of 2024. The lunch specials under 10 dollars from 11am to 3 pm every day Tuesday closed .Wednesday open until Monday to from 1030 at 9:00 pm..thank from familiar rockherz..
First time visit, excellent food. Will return again. Big Bang for your Buck. We had lots of leftovers for take home. Very quick service and very fresh food.
Sesame chicken and the chicken lo mein were great My favorite was the sesame chicken though I would definitely recommend very delicious hot and fresh would have taken a picture about me and my wife were pretty hungry considering we had just driven nine hours definitely recommend going here
Very quick service and attentive waiter. Definitely recommend!!! The fried wontons and egg rolls. Light dish but filling! 💯/💯
Great place food is tasty and taste fresh @ fair price ..
Best Chinese restaurant in the Valley. Hands down fresh and Hot.
Best Chinese I've had in years‼️ small modest restaurant, family owned got delicious food ready in mins
Huge portions usually mean food not to good? WRONG!!!!!!!! This food was sooooo delicious, and will definitely be back
Got take out today, hot and sour soup, and shrimp and snow peas. The food was absolutely delicious. This will be my new go to place.
Best mom and pop's restaurant in the valley! Good portions. Great customer service. Authentic cuisine!
Best Chinese Food place ever! The food is very delicious! The people are very friendly and attentive to your needs. Definitely a place eat at if you haven't already.
Feels like home. Love the people and the food is terrific!
Been coming here since I was a child. My number one spot for Chinese food in the entire valley! Dine in is a little old school, i love it because it takes me back but i know most people are surprised. Regardless the food is amazing and the customers service had always been great.
Food was very good and very fresh. There were lots of locals coming for pickups. Outside of building was a little dingy but inside is beautiful. If we lived here, we would be returning customers.
Seriously the best chinese food in the valley! Large, tasty quantities for an affordable price. Kowloon is truly a hidden gem! Highly recommend!!
Can't complain at all. Portions are huge and prices are great. It's definitely not the fanciest looking place but if you there because you hungry and want a fresh Chinese dish, get ready to get your feast on and be satisfied. Friendly staff. Everyone that was eating there seemed to be regulars so that's a good sign! Definitely a great hole in the wall type vibe since it's a small location with about 8 tables you can sit at. Would definitely recommend to any Chinese food lover! They bring out your food Instantly
Best Real Chinese restaurant in Indio you won't be disappointed
It's a hole in the wall Chinese place located next to a bar. I was there on a Friday evening and there were plenty of other diners. The food was pretty good, can't really go wrong with chicken and broccoli, and the portion was massive. I brought home more than I ate there and had dinner the next night, too! For $10! I'll definitely retun.
Lunch special is amazing! Over 20 plate options with your choice of steam or fried rice. Under $10!!! Seafood plates of course are more expensive. If you do not want rice you can get chow mein for a $2 upgrade. Also lunch special comes with egg drop soup, ice tea and an egg roll. Great value and the portions are generous! I always end up taking half my plate home for dinner.
Delicious !! Husband and I ordered the C8 Three Gems Plate,it was yummy!! a bit to many peanuts but overall delicious! It's a small hole in the wall restaurant and you could easily miss driving by on the main Avenue. We will definitely be coming in for more delicious food when in the area😁👍
Been eating here since I was in my mother's womb, literally. 30 years. My family and I love this place.
I love the food here and the staff is always friendly to me, sometimes they serve you in a rush but thats because that place is busy most of the time. I usually stick to my usual order so i can't talk in full about the menu, but i find that usually people find something they like and they usually stick with it. Update 2023: I have since moved from the valley and find myself missing the food from this place so i always come here when i visit, none of the food where i moved to matches this food's flavor 😭
This place has never disappointed us, we have ordered take out and dined in. The food is great and the portions are gianormous. The staff is incredibly accommodating for whatever your dietary restrictions are and the service is really fast and friendly.
Best Chinese spot in all the Coachella Valley. The orange chicken is unlike any other orange chicken you've had. Its red and not orange but it tastes like orange and the best orange chicken I've had. Their general Tsos chicken looks more like the orange chicken you find at other chinese places. Lo mein (any kind) always hits. The sweet crispy shrimp is always a banger. Portions are big and price is cheap. You're don't come here for the looks you come for the flavor. The staff is always friendly. Except for this one lady but she's not mean or rude just to the point. She's been like that since I was a kid. She is part of Kowloon. Kowloon has been around since i was a kid, and for good reason. Hidden jem in the valley. I moved to Texas 2 years ago and nothing tops this place. I come here everytime I'm in town.
The food is always delicious and it never fails to pick any plate 🍽 on the menu 😋 👌🏼
i luvv this place i’ve been going since i was little!! i love love love their food and the atmosphere! one of my favorite restaurants and i hope others come here! 🎀🐑
I love the food there it's so good I really recommend, idk what those people are on cause it was good. They might not know but that's real Chinese food, orange chicken is red cause it's REAL orange chicken not the ones panda express serve. But all I have to say is that it's super good😍⁉️😱🤗🤗
Wanted to eat Chinese food tonight. Reviews were good so decided to try it. What a nice surprise, food was excellent and lots of it. If you're looking for a high class place, then this is not for you. It's a hole in the wall but well worth it. Outside doesn't look great, but dont let that fool you. Service was great and we will be going back. Prices are very reasonable.
EXTREME value for money. The service was brilliant, the food quality was great and the food is so cheap. Highly recommend if you are in town.
Hands down, best asain restaurant I've been to. The prices are really fair, but the taste of the food is fresh and homemade, this restaurant is truly a hidden gem, my family will definitely be visiting again!
I'm originally from New England area. Some of the best Chinese food can be found there. I've lived in Florida and now In Tennessee and can never find good Chinese food. All of it is subpar to what I'm used too, until now! This was absolutely delicious. We tried several items and shared. Chicken Fried Rice, beef lo mein, beef and broccoli, Garlic beef, sweet and sour chicken and general tsao chicken. All of it was terrific! We actually ordered enough so we can fly home with it! The portion size is huge, the flavor is delicious and the prices were terrific! It's a must try!
people can say what they want but them Chinese hole in the wall spots be hitting different. them roaches be sizzling just right!!! I love me some Kowloons... grew up going here my whole life. they got the best deals , give big portions and the food is fire. they always feel like family!!
When you order food and eat there... it so much it falling off the plate....you can try to eat half of it and then get a box to go and it will fill that box up also... like 2 meals for the price of one....best Hong Kong style hot and sour soup... I cant even find this is la and in NYC it would be over $20
Great food, generous portions and good service!
This is a small restaurant in what looks like not a great area but doesn't matter. Food and service was excellent. Clearly a real sense of community here with customers as well as employees here. Food was really good and not the typical garbage you see most places. You get good food good service with great value.
This place is a little hole in the wall that tastes phenomenal. They still have a lot of things priced similar to pre pandemic times which is great on the wallet. You won’t be disappointed in the flavors. We have tried most Chinese places on the East Side of the Valley and this place so far is our go to.
Generous portions. Tasty dishes. Prompt and efficient service.
Small place. We had take-out. The ladies I met were great and the whole family liked the food—especially the vegetarian entrees (vegetarian lo mein and country tofu).
Food amazing what I would recommend is the eggdropsoup with fried rice
Best Chinese food in town! Had a lunch and the portions were huge. Served quickly with a big smile. Awesome!
We stopped by Kowloon in Indio on Christmas Eve for Chinese takeout based on Google recommendations, and it absolutely did not disappoint. This is a small, family-owned restaurant, clearly focused on takeout. We ordered a generous spread: handmade egg rolls, sweet and sour pork, spicy beef lo mein, Kung Pao chicken, white rice, fried rice, and cheese rangoon. Overall, the portions were huge—easily about 50% more food than we typically get from our local Chinese restaurant for roughly the same price. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, and the value was excellent. The standout dish was the Kung Pao chicken. It had the perfect level of heat, and the ingredients were noticeably fresh and flavorful. The lo mein was hearty and satisfying, the sweet and sour pork was classic and well done, and the egg rolls were clearly handmade, which made a big difference. The atmosphere when we picked up our order was very minimal, but the staff was warm and genuinely appreciative of the business, which added to the experience. For $60, we received three large entrées and an appetizer—enough food for multiple meals. If you’re looking for solid Chinese takeout, great value, and generous portions in the Indio area, Kowloon is absolutely worth a stop.
Finally tried this place for authentic Chinese food which most people don't understand doesn't have a lot of flavor because that is for you to add. This hole in the wall restaurant is affordable and what you'll find in a real Chinatown especially being a family business. The quality of food and service is so far the best in CV. We had the delicious hot and sour soup, Singapore noodles and combination shrimp. Portions are big and everyone took food home. They had plenty of regulars and we will be back!
@traveling_kupo Located this delicious Wor Won Ton soup in the city of Indio, California. Great place to pull over for some Chinese Food. The lunch specials are at a great deal, the soups are my favorite and the service is on point. Does get busy during lunch hours. But it is also the last great Chinese restaurant before heading east to Arizona, or South to El Centro, Mexicali area. A must try. lil parking, handicap access. But it is a must try location.
Very tasty love the customer service and the crew came out very fast. I do recommend and I will return
Hole in the wall you would definitely miss it if not familiar with the area but it’s some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Very generous portions and the food comes out quick. Largest spring roll I have ever had in my life also. They also provided complimentary soup.
Service 5 star FOOD 5 star Atmosphere 4 star Place has great service there quick to attend you, food has flavor and there is a lot of food, prices are vary low especially for the amount of food they bring out I recommend they raise there prices as I eat in the streets all the time and there prices are vary low, you can difinetly fill up and feed many with 2 or 3 plates, the Atmosphere how ever is below average if they change there lighting they would improve Atmosphere, place is a good spot to eat a lot with flavor and for a few bucks!! All in all it's a great place for a full quick grab and plenty of food!! Can't beat that!
Great food, good portions. It can get busy as soon as it opens. Especially on Sunday.

I think this is the best Chinese Food in the Valley. My friend recommended it, and we went together . While trying to decide, a steaming plate, of Orange Chicken, was delivered to another table, and my decision was made! My friend chose Mongolian Beef and we shared dishes. The chicken was crunchie and sweet, with a kick,. So good! The beef was tender, and well seasoned, with a savory sauce. Huge portions! Friendly service. My latest favorite !
Quite possibly the best succulent Chinese meal I have ever had!!! A succulent Chinese meal!!! Nice staff, quick service and the textures and portions were just unbelievable. Absolutely amazing. Definitely be ready to bring a box home .
driving thru from Arizona, some of the best chinese takeout food i’ve had in a really long time. exactly what i wanted, good size portions, fresh and delicious. i’ll probably stop on my way back to AZ, this is better than any i can get there
Expect lots of food and awesome service. The server was pleasant, served with a smile even though the place got busy she didn't show if she was overwhelmed. She smiled all the way through. Not very common these days.
My new favorite Chinese Food restaurant in Coachella Valley! They are fast and efficient and the food all tastes great! This place understands the concept of flavor beautifully! I can't wait to try their other dishes, I got the cashew shrimp today and it was Yummy! The Egg Roll was big and delicious, and egg drop soup also tasty! Yay!

Great food at any price but this place is inexpensive. Portions are huge. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 star is the place itself ( a dive Chinese resturant) but don’t let that stop you from trying their food. Delicious!
My favorite little hideaway restaurant! This place is a local favorite and always packed. It's tiny and tucked away, next to a small bar and hair salon. The portions are enormous! The to go containers are kept next to the cash register. And the prices are more than reasonable! Huge menu, also beer and wine. Don't expect fancy, just good food and service.
Enjoyed the very busy Kowloon Chinese storefront. Don't blink or you drive right past. Our orders are ALMOND CHICKEN AND KUNG POW CHICKEÑ. Huge pot of steamed white rice and served first a nice warm bowl of egg drop soup. Yes you get your fortune cookie and then pack up your leftovers to go ... at least two more meals at home! At $10.95 ea this is a good value. The place was filled with happy friendly families enjoying their Chinese lunch @ Kowloon!
This was our first time in Kowloon. The 4 star rating is for the tasty food. Egg drop soup best ever! The portions are generous (huge!). One order can easily feed 2 people. Prices are moderate ($10.50). You might call this place "a hole in the wall"... No ambiance! Because it was busy/lots of customers the noise level was high. So if you are not speaking to your spouse or significant other and want a tasty Chinese meal this is the spot!
Excellent cheap Chinese food! Popular for takeout. Their combo meal is only 50 cents more than Panda's express bowl, which is their lowest cost meal and you get far more food. My favorites is beef and vegetable in white sauce.
The food was plentiful and delicious. But the service wasn’t good. Perhaps they were just having an off night, but we had to get someone’s attention multiple times to ask for anything, they never checked in on us, and they forgot to bring us rice, which seems like it’s usually pretty standard.
Food is always delicious. Table setup is not necessarily always the best.
I had been avoiding this place because I didn't want to have another disappointing experience with Chinese food since I got to the valley. But I finally did, and I must say it wasn't a total disappointment. The fried rice and spicy chicken were the top dishes. Fresh and tastee! The barbecue slices were not as great. They were just pork with sauce, not really bbq. But the service was great, the two ladies working the front and serving were very friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are a good size. We were able to eat lunch the next day with the leftovers. Overall i was happy with this place.
Very good food clean place. The dining room is small but clean. You need to stop here! The prices are very good. The food so 🤤 yummy 😋. This time we had chicken chop suey with fried rice and fried shrimp with the dipping sauce 🤤 and the wonton. It's a yes every time!

Great food. Friendly service. Fair prices. However, very noisy. Walls are hard tiled so ambience is non existent. Still very well worth it for the quality of the Chines cuisine

Great food, the only reason I give it 3 stars is that the amount of meat in the dishes is significantly less. Now it's mostly vegetables, probably due to the higher cost of beef and chicken these days. I guess that's the 'new normal ' everywhere now, but it's disappointing.
The food is good. I'm a regular customer BUT!!! They really need to clean up that place. It's dirty!!! The ice tea cups are already filled up so who knows how long they've been sitting on counter. So if the visual to customers is filthy dirty can you imagine the back🤷🏼♀️
I hope the owners see this and that it helps them improve their business. With that being said at the moment I do not recommended it. The food has a bad taste. Orange chicken is red and has an orange on top of it. It doesn't have a good flavor and it's whatever I suggest adding more sweetness. They give you some vegetable soup before the main meal so yeah that puts a plus in service. The place looks cramped and not will decorated. They have Christmas lights and a bunch of chairs. The restrooms are far way and the mans restroom is next to the boilers right next to the back exit. Almost got lost looking for it. Restroom is okay. The AC works so that's good. Overall service is the only 5 star, food is 3 stars and atmosphere is a 1 star (feels more like a home than a business not bad but not good for the business image). Almost forgot to mention that the little veggie room tacos I forgot their name sorry 😔 they don't have too good of a flavor maybe try improving on it.
I’m not sure why the reviews are so high. This restaurant is just…fine? It’s clear they’re very popular for takeout. They give you huge portions for the price which is very affordable. I just didn’t love anything I ordered. I felt like the sweet-and-sour chicken was more breading than it was chicken. The egg drop soup was probably our favorite.
I was on a mission to coachella and I was craving some comforting Chinese food after living off of coachella first day with only 3 hrs of sleep. I woke up around 2pm the next day after going to sleep at 3am. I was so exhausted and then woke up hungry. Luckily I caught the lunch special before 3pm. . Lunch special they have a combo which comes with fried rice and kungpao, cup of soup, and egg roll for under 15 bucks and comes with a big ice lemon tea. . Chow mein was an extra charge but it was worth it and it was comforting and held me up for the rest of the night at coachella. . Kung pao shrimp , filled with lots of fresh veggies. The flavor was just ok nothing special. There was about 6 shrimps which is a reasonable amount. Plenty of peanuts too. I might opt for chicken next time instead. . Egg roll was a great munch and crunch. It was a veggie spring roll. . Cup of soup reminds me of egg drop soup and perfect to wet your whistle. . Ice lemon tea was so good, I had drank 2 big 32 ounces of it. It was lightly sweetend and made it even better. . Service they came and refilled my cup. They were nice with extra napkins. Service was quick for dine in. . Ambiance cute casual setting. Nice parking lot too for parking. It was busy when I was leaving. . Hope this review helps and it helped with my chinese comfort food craving. Hope this review helps, thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day.
Quaint, hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant owned by a humble family. It was sweet seeing the owner’s children running around, set a neat view into cultures making their living here through sharing cultural food. Unfortunately, though, the food was not very tasty. Portions were large, but I did not entirely LOVE any of the dishes we ordered (I added captions to the pictures of the dishes I remembered). The price was fair for how much food we got, but it definitely felt as though they valued quantity over quality. The interior was also very, very dark and the location is right off of the freeway exit. By no means is the outside or inside beautifully decorated, but again it seems like the owners are making do with what they have. There is a restroom inside and plenty of parking outside. Try it out if you want large portions of OK Chinese food!

Food is below average. Service was great. Really nice people. Huge portions. We ordered a couple chicken dishes, couple beef dishes, fried rice, noodles...none of it was very good.

They store cabbage on the floor just outside the restroom.
We tried this highly-rated hole-in-the-wall Chinese spot, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The 8 appetizer sampler was dry and lacked flavor, and the Mongolian beef was just meh. Tender beef, but a bland sauce. The Yang Chow fried rice was a little salty but still somehow flavorless, which was odd. It just didn’t come together like it should have. The portions were huge, which is usually a plus, but I wasn’t excited enough to keep eating. Service was fine, and I did enjoy the free soup they offered at the start, but that’s about it. Overall, this place didn’t impress, and I don’t think I’ll be back.

I ordered teriyaki chicken because I didn't want deep fried breaded chicken, but that's what I got. deep fried breaded chicken, with a bowl of teriyaki sauce. 👎 Also the plates were served separately and the food was cold.
Very greasy, very salty, and overcooked, dry meats. I really wanted to give this place a better review, but the fried rice, egg rolls and appetizer sampler were virtually inedible.
I WENT THERE YESTERDAY ON MONDAY JULY 29, 2024 TO ORDERED SOMES FOODS~ I ATED THE FOODS AND I GIVE SOMES TO MY BULLDOG🇬🇧 AND WE GOT DIARRHEA REALLY BAD,👎🏽👎🏽
Probably some of the worst food in the valley. The reviews seemed so great so we decided to try it out since our normal go-to was closed. Greesiest egg roll i have ever had. The rest of the food was pretty flavorless. Huge portions which normally would be nice but unfortunately they're going to waste.
Food it's not what it used to be, ever since they changed owners, food nd taste it's not the same as before, food goes to waste fast. Before I was able to save some for next day but it goes bad right away, been going there for many years, I think its time to move on. Would definitely not go back there.
We had been here once from out of town a year ago and were excited to have it again. Not sure what’s changed in a year but we ordered take out and no one liked their food. Nothing had any flavor! Chicken was basically all breading. Huge disappointment
Only writing this to save others… My boyfriend bought food here last week (06/26/25) and on Friday he ate a bowl of the fried rice with meat… however he got a really bad good reaction. He woke up with hives all over his body. The next day his uncle ate some and said the meat was almost “green” and tasted very gamey. I don’t think meat would expire 3 days in the fridge?? That meat was left out or cross contaminated! Please be careful.
With the exception of a few edible items, don’t bother wasting your money here (I ordered the Singapore noodles). The food quality isn’t the best, majority of it was covered in grease and believe it or not, it was all salty and/or bland. The best thing I ordered would have to be the roasted white peppers.
Ordered for the 1st time from after being referred by a coworker. Ordered a seafood dish for p/u. Got it & got home. Sat down to eat & it was SPOILED. Called & they actually made me take it back to prove they gave me crap food. I obliged & they gave me as refund. Needless to say, I’ll never take a referral serious again. Especially from a coworker. They most likely set me up. But wow, all the good reviews & I GET THE ISH DISH. 🙄

Called & they actually made me take it back to prove they gave me crap food. I obliged & they gave me as refund. Needless to say, I’ll never take a referral serious again. Especially from a coworker. They most likely set me up. But wow, all the good reviews & I GET THE ISH DISH. 🙄
