We were in town for a meeting and asked where the nearest gas station. As an after thought, the nurse told us about this restaurant around the corner. I thought it was more than I had planned to spend but it wasn't too much. I asked about the so e of the plates and got the bug nachos for us to share. It was delicious and we were all full!
We love this place one of our go too!! Been coming here for years and will continue, Everything on the menu is amazing, great service friendly atmosphere for all ages!! Keep up the great work.
I've been enjoying the wonderful, flavor packed, authentic Mexican food, personally, for over 36 years now. In all that time, after hundreds of meals, never once, have I experienced a bad/off situation. Food, service, and my personal favorite--THE WARM, RICH, DEEP, COMPLEX, FLAVOR- PROFILE, SALSA, - NEVER DISAPPOINTED!! NOT ONCE!! A true tradition of excellence, in the restaurant "game". I'm sure that's why they've been open for so long, and a successful partner in the community, of Indio. I'm certain, I'm not alone in these sentiments. Thank you, "Rincon Norteno"!. - Paul A. A wonderful little mexican family restaurant. The food here was excellent. The red sauce on the enchiladas is very tasty and packed with flavour. The rice that comes on the side of most dishes was also quite delicious. The portions are good and there was definitely enough food. The salsa that they serve with the chips is warm and spicy and absolutely amazing. It tastes like when I had homemade salsa in Tijuana. The staff here were very friendly and personable. They made good suggestions and got all our orders right. For authentic style mexican food you can't go wrong here.
This is a homey place where you are sure to get a good meal. It's not fancy. Just good food and nice people. They treat people like guests. If you go in with a cold, they might bring you a cup of delicious soup on the house. If you bring in a bunch of kids they might bring everyone a nice little dessert at the end of the meal. My granddaughters love to come here. Trains go by occasionally and when they were little they would get so excited by the trains. The salsa is served warm. The guacamole can be ordered creamy or chunky. The chilies guerrito are the best in town.
This is easily the best Mexican restaurant in the Coachella valley. Everything is homemade, and while the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, the food will leave you smacking your lips and wanting more. Can't wait to return with friends. If you're in the mood for a margarita, the Cadillac is also as Good as it gets, but the best deal is the house margarita at happy hour. At four bucks a pop, you'll want to bring a designated driver. If you have driven by this place and not bothered to stop, or if you have never eaten here, do yourself a favor and make this your next place for a Mexican meal.
Ordered out two days ago, the take home dinners were a huge size compared a couple years ago it was super small. The food has always been good, and the hot salsa is bom.
Best Mexican food North of the border. The sauces are so delicious. The refried beans tasty. We ate there one evening and had to go back for more the next day. The Staff Is Very Friendly. I recommend stopping by for a bite when you are in the area.
This restaurant is a valley staple. I don't come across any resident who doesn't visit Ricon's at least 3 to 4 times a month on average. Service is always welcoming and becomes like family overtime. Everything on the menu is delicious. If you don't know what to try , I and many other people would vouch that their shredded beef tacos with rice and beans is a must try. The papa guisados are also yummy and compliment as a side dish for any breakfast, lunch, and dinner plate. Their cheesburger is even delicious with homemade French fries. Growing up, I loved getting the shredded beef chimichanga with veggies and side of sourcream. The chips and salsa are addictive (thank you, bacon). Tortillas are made fresh and purchased from Ariollas torterilla down the street, and their corn chips are made using them. The rice pudding during winter season is to die for.
Great service. Great food. I had nicest friendlest waitress. To bad I live in Ohio. Hope to make it back when it's cooler.
Great atmosphere with great food and great staff. Really commendable and will surely come back if given the chance to drop by Indio again!
my friends Doug recommended this restaurant and i was very impressed the service was amazing the food was super tasty our waitress was real nice Junior the owner really makes sure every second of your experience is a pleasant one i highly recommend Rincon Notteño
Been coming here for years and NEVER had a complaint. The food has tasted the same every since I started coming till now. Great service, but even better food. I recommend this place to everyone I guarentee after trying this place you will be coming back for more.
Family stopped here on our way to a vacation spot further on into California, and we loved our visit. Food was great, service was great. We all left really full and really happy. Prices are a few dollars higher than other comparable places, but it's worth the slightly higher cost. Only complaint I have is minor: there was no soap in the women's bathroom, but I snuck into the other bathroom where there was soap, so my hands did eventually get washed. Anyway, highly recommended!
My hubby and I love, love, (did I say love? 😁) Mexican food. After many recommendations, we finally tried Rincon. We were blown away! The restaurant is old and could use some updating, but clean. It's very loud, but the noise is just families enjoying good food and each other's company. I had the jalapeno margarita, so, so very good. I also had a trio plate (2 tacos, 1 enchilada, rice and beans) It was delicious! I had so much food I took half home. There sala is bomb! Served hot, with fresh, warm chips. Service was outstanding! Warm and friendly. If you want authentic Mexican food, try Rincon. You won't be disappointed.
We had a couple breakfast platters and they were amazing. Especially the machaca, and their spicy salsa is addictive. Great little outdoor patio area as well. We were only visiting the area but wish we can come back again!
The best chips and salsa you will ever have. The food here is the best. Asada plate and caldo are 2 of my favorites.
An established favorite of mine. Good food and friendly service with an awesome outdoor seating area for the cooler months. Highly recommend checking out their specials. I haven't had a bad meal yet
The only one! When your hungry for the authentic, this is the only place I go. Treat you like family. Very good for many years. Great service with most excellent, timely, and hot food. What more is wanted? A side note: the staff is always the same here. Very little turnover. People cooking up a grand meal and happy doing it. Great place!
At this restaurant you will find the best Mexican food in the valley and possibly the best outside of Mexico. The food is authentic and excellent every time. The carne asada enchilada, and the green chicken enchilada are very good. I love the rice and beans. When you are seated they start you off with some warm house salsa with just the perfect spice and flavor. Since the renovation the whole area has opened up nicely and with the added bar and beer on tap this is a great place to go and watch the games. They open early for breakfast which is great for the locals and tourists alike. Come try this today and you won’t be going anywhere else.
I love this place my family has been coming here for 2 generations. The hot salsa is to die for. They also have the most amazing mango margaritas. This is a family owned restaurant that has been in business for over 50 years. This is a must try for anybody that loves Mexican food this will be your new favorite
The food was very delicious are Waitress Blanca Deserves five star rating she take very good care of us and she was very friendly and very professional I would recommend eating this restaurant.
Green salsa is delicious & unique! Stands apart from others! Love the trio skillet! Fried ice cream available here! Hidden gem in the valley! Strongly suggest giving them a try. Love & light to all!
It had been about 5 years since I've been here. They have remodeled since then & it really looks clean & sharp. Food was delicious. Service was prompt &polite.
I expected to pay more, but their prices were really fair. The electrician who repaired my faulty switches did an amazing job. It’s working perfectly now! I was really impressed with his skills and efficiency. I’ll be calling them again for sure.
This Mexican restaurant is amazing. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was 5 years old I am now 38. So that should tell you something about this restaurant. It's very family-oriented the waitresses and the people that work for a very friendly and when you eat there they remember your name if you're a regular and it feels like their family. It's definitely a restaurant to visit when you come over here to Indio.
I stop in this place multiple times when I'm in town for a few days. They have a full bar and open at 7am daily. The staff is awesome and the owner is super friendly and has great banter. They have this complimentary hot brown salsa they give you when you sit down that is just mind-blowing. I've never seen or tasted anything like it, nor have I seen it served anywhere else. Think of the traditional chips and salsa you get literally everywhere else, and it's the complete opposite of that. Other than that, the place is clean, the parking is ample, and the food is off the charts. "See you tomorrow!"
Read a couple of the reviews that said it was homestyle Mexican food. That is 100% correct, good flavor and quick service. Our servers delivered everything with a smile. Had the Carne Asada with the chunky guacamole, very good.
Food was great over ate it was so good
This is my second time I eat here. The first time I ate at this place it was super busy. This time this place half full. The service here is awsome. Our waiter was young ,courteus and whenever we asked her for any additional things items she did it happily. Food was very good and filling.
Service is excellent! The seafood cocktails are worth the trip! They are so fresh and packed to the rim. Very nice setting. They also have a shrimp stuffed pepper appetizer that is amazing. Overall 10/10 highly recommend if you're in the area.
We've been going here for 30 years and the food is just as good now as always. Love the salsa with the bacon fat. Really unique flavor. Now has a full bar and big screen TVs for sports.
I go for the shredded beef enchiladas with red sauce with breakfast potatoes, rice & beans. Always so good. Good chips & salsa, although the spice level of the salsa can vary a lot. Can’t say enough good things about their food. Best Mexican in the desert, in my opinion
The menudo is great and the staff is the best here. My family has been coming here for over 15 years and the quality has always stayed the same! We love coming here every Sunday after church! The warm salsa is different but really good! Everything is delicious and the chavelas always hit the spot with this heat.
I've been coming here for 15 years. Family owned, food is good and consistent, a bit of a drive for me but well worth it. Great staff and personable owner. Happy places like this still exist.
Stand out restaurant for authentic Mexican food. It was delicious. The service was excellent! Will definitely go back.
The ladies there were so friendly and tries their best to give good service. I don't eat much and get full quick so when one of the girls noticed I didn't finish my plate she asked if something was wrong and if she needed to change it for me. I told her it was good tho. But not all things are gonna be amazing here. I loved the enchiladas most.
Amazing family feel, great food and friendly atmosphere. I hadn't been in over 20 years, I took mom there for breakfast the other morning, and it was still exactly the same
I really liked it here. The food was very good, reasonably priced, and the service was attentive and friendly.
Martin was our waitress and boy did she work it. So did our bartender. Fresh brew coffee at the end of the meal. First of all she bought us 3 cups of that OUTSTANDING salsa. The carne asada was just big enough for my buddy who is 6'5" and about 240 lbs. He loved it! My chicken enchiladas w/rice was EXCELLENT. TOO big for me to finish! Although the next day, it took 2 more attempts, and still have leftovers.. .
Authentic, great quality, portions plentiful and welcoming service! Best Mexican food I’ve ever had!
A favorite place for weekend breakfasts each weekend. Pru-Dance the owner has really done well after his father establish this Restaurant. Real Mexican American food dishes. Where his Patriots keep returning. His attitudes of good service and repore go well . Highly recommend Breakfast. SAN’s A/C
Tamales, cheese enchiladas rice and beans, salsa, and cold jaimica great way to quench what you have missing out on. Prudencio is a proud second generation owner. Kudos to the crew.
Looking for some real authentic Mexican food you found the right place! We have been coming here for 30 plus years, great service, great cooks, a great team! The menu has something for everyone, they will accommodate you to your liking. Reasonably priced and there is a full bar. Some of the best margaritas in town! Family owned, so if you have not been to this restaurant. Put it on your list, you will not regret it!
Great food.. great location!! C u there! The staff is courteous and friendly. A simple taco and enchilada tell me how good the food is. The red sauce is perfect for my pallet and gets my vote for the best Mexican food in Indio! Update Rincon Norteno is celebrating its 60th year in 2024! I have been a guest for 5 years! Located in Old Indio, Rincon has outdoor seating and serves breakfast! The staff is ready to provide excellent service and blend your favorite delicious Margarita! The menu is loaded with your favorite Mexican dish! Great spot for large parties and special occasions! Any restaurant that has survived 60 years let's you know they are good! C U there soon!
This place is a staple in the city of Indio, hands down. It's very well known by the locals, and has really updated their atmosphere. The service is very good, and the food is better. The salsa is some of the best in the valley. If you're coming for breakfast I recommend getting the huevos rancheros.
Excellent experience! The machaca con huevos (shredded beef with eggs) was super yum! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the waiter had my drink in no time, and the waitress convinced me to get the Mexican breakfast potatoes, which were great. I've always seen this place but never tried it, and I regret not going before. 10/10!
This was our first visit to this restaurant. Very good Mexican food. I love that they serve their table salsa warm. I was happy to chilaquiles on their menu. I ordered a plate of it and enjoyed every bite. The sauce is medium to mild on the spice scale. My husband ordered the chile relleno plate. He said it was very good. If you decide to dine there, I suggest that you eat in the patio area. There aren't any noise buffers inside so if the restaurant is crowded, it can be a distraction if you prefer a quiet meal. We will definitely return next time we are in Indio!
I was expecting better, it was decent potion sizes. We got carne sasada fries. We got carne asada and fries, I guess they usually put red or green sauce on it, but the kids didn't want it and I thought the fries weren't that great. Carne asada fries other places comes with tomatoes, onions, sour cream, guacamole, ect. I didn't think the apatiseres were great, they were a little better than ok. The enchiladas that my wife ordered with red sauce was good, if we got red sauce on the fries they probably would have been better.
Best chili relleno!! Great bean based salsa! I always look forward to this meal when in town. I can't rate any other meal.
The staff were great, they served us immediately. The menus were unavailable due to the virus; they were digital. The steak was flavorless, but the beans and rice were amazing. Would go again, but not often. I gave it four stars because of the staff.
The food was good. I enjoyed my tacos. It was a little pricey. We were given rice and beans to go . They gave us a big container which was more than I expected. The server was nice and friendly.
food is great another iconic Mexican spot in the Coachella valley. some of the stuff like the tamales could be better but breakfast is on another level.
Recently remodeled. 4 stars because Noise level is loud. UPDATE!!!! 2024/2025 Noise level has improved and normal. overall improvements and food is soo good! Feels so welcoming. The waitresses are so attentive and friendly and I just love the way they make me and my family feel as they smile and ask how we are doing. I've been there more than once and they already know what kind of coffee we drink. Love it!!! great atmosphere. Family feel.
First time visit, and I was not so impressed considering all the good things I'd been told. Food came out hot but the portions for the price charged were small. Chips and salsa definitely fresh. It's a loud place, with no partitions between seating so if you don't like folks sitting literally 3ft from you this place is not for you. Service is good.
We’ve eaten here several times, but tried the trio fajitas and honestly they were awful. Not very much flavor and the beef strips were extremely tough and uneatable. The service was very very good and the margaritas were excellent.
Celebrating my birthday and the atmosphere was so warming, people were very friendly the staff was very friendly. It felt like I was going to sit at my Mother's table with the welcoming atmosphere the food was a 8 out of 10, the margarita 10 out of 10! To thank Kenya and Maxine for their personal as well as professional love!
Food was excellent. Service was great. Prices a little high but the portions are big. In a sea of Mexican restaurants this one stands out.
Solid 4 star experience however there was one glaring weakness, for me a huge one. Chili Relleno is one of my benchmark dishes for any mexican restaurant and here it was a disgrace. Small and tasteless. That said everything else was outstanding. As has been mentioned in other reviews their table salsa is crazy good. The margaritas were top notch as well. Sides and my wife's entree was also stellar. Had to take one star off for the relleno bit beyond that we loved the place. Recommended for everything but the chili relleno
I always judge a Mexican spot by its salsa at the beginning and then it’s rice and beans during the meal. All three pass the check. The Jamaica isn’t fresh/home made but you can’t have it all. Great parking. The chicken burrito - grilled - was so delicious. The torta has the perfect bread. Everyone in the group was pleased.
In my husbands words; Respect the salsa! The service was excellent, very friendly and it was obvious that the place is well loved by their regulars and I can see why! My only thing is that it was a bit to greasy, but the food was good and I'm more then happy to give them my buisness if I'm ever driving trough the area again.
The remodel looks go be good for business, food is good as always but it looks like I will cut my visits down to the cooler months due to the place being warm when I ate, I just wanted to eat my food and leave. Wasn't comfortable, need to cool the dining area better.
My co-workers wanted to go here for lunch and I had been wanting to try them. Pros: Thin chips, unusual (warm) salsa but tasty, good size Chile releno, good quick service. Cons: Beef enchilada not flavorful, rice dry, and beans too runny. I would be willing to give them another try.
The food was hot and fresh but quite plain. I got a Shredded beef taco and tostada. My table also tried a Carne asada burrito and a chicken taco. Both taco meats were very bland with no spices. The Carne asada had a little more flavor but still not stellar. The salsa was ok. It's different than I'm used to. I usually don't do reviews but thought it would be nice for someone who has similar tastes to mine to know what to expect from this restaurant. We were traveling through from Phoenix where our favorite Mexican food is New Mexican style. This is no where near New Mexican style food. It wasn't bad food, just not the style of Mexican food that I enjoy. The restaurant was clean and the staff were decently friendly.
I judge authenticity by the frijoles and these were too watered down. Mole was a little bland and the chicken in any dish had zero flavor. Friendly service tho. Response: Yes I’m sure I visited this restaurant and I was referring to the enchilada sauce (mole).
Good food overall, tamales were disappointing and taco shells a bit chewy. Chile Colorado, Chile Rellenos, and Enchiladas were very good. Service was not good. Wait staff had to be called again and again. I would have given them a 4 star review based on food alone. Poor service brought the rating down.
It was decent went with a group so in order to feed us all in a timely manner we had to eat off the catering menu.
Unfortunately didn't find the food very flavorful, beef very fatty. Margaritas were awful, tasted like a very cheap/bad mix. Maybe a little spoiled? Not sure what went wrong there. Service was great and the waitresses were really lovely. I liked the soup that came with the meal.
The only had 3 servers/cashier/bartenders for a packed restaurant. Service was slow and some items requested never made it to the table. It was super loud, was seated under the speaker and asked to turn it down a little. They did but after a while it went back up. Would think twice about going again.
I love mexican cuisine. This restaurant has a really good reviews, so I decided to try it out. However, I was not impressed with quality of food. I am very sensitive on tastes, and I felt like they use some cheap oil for frying, which has a very strong smell. All food and salsa has that taste. Half of my plate went to trush.
A friend referred us to Rincon and we were excited because we were really looking forward to giving Rincon a try. So, we went today for lunch and we both ordered tacos. Very disappointing. Tacos were extremely bland and very greasy. Neither of us ate more than one of our tacos. Not sure if the tacos are always this way or not, but today was not the best experience. We will now go for a late Taco 🌮 lunch somewhere else. 😭
I really thought the food would be much better. It was a huge disappointment. Mexican food is simple to prepare. I don't understand that being in business for so long recipes would be mastered.
The food is not the same since new ownership. My over easy eggs were rocks. No hash browns so had the GREASEIEST French fries I have ever had, soaked with oil and limp like it was dropped in the oil pulled out and served on a plate. I didn't eat any of it.
If I could give this place zero stars I would. My office manager arranged catering for our Christmas party with Rincon Norteno. What a disaster. They were late to deliver our food and it was COLD. One hour and a half after our food was supposed to be delivered they showed up with the rice and beans. UNBELIEVABLE!!! First they were late bringing the food and then to show up an hour and a half late with rice and beans, just goes to show their lack of professionalism and care in their catering business and taking care of their customer. The food was cold, the salsa BLAND, the guacamole looked like pasty white mush. I didn't try the Rice and beans because they were delivered after we had desert. The experience we had with this restaurant was horrible and their response and attitude was less than professional. They did everything they could to ruin our party.
Driving by from Arizona and craved a good, authentic chile verde burrito. The pork meat was fatty and tough. Less than half the meat was edible. My wife ordered a carne asada burrito - I kid you not, there was only beef inside the tortilla - no salsa, beans, onions, rice or anything else. The beef was edible but way too plain. I grew up in an authentic first generation Mexican family and this place doesn't even come close to replicating "authentic food." I'm writing this so that management reads this and upgrades to a decent quality of pork. The worst I ever had! Hector Martinez - Ontario, California
Food was alright, at best. I got the two egg combo with rice and beans. Rice and beans were bland. Eggs had a strong frying oil taste. No one disclosed that our party would be charged mandatory gratuity. They explained that even though 6 of us had 1 order and the other 2 had a separate order, that is “splitting checks” and charged the party of 2 the mandatory gratuity as well. If it was 1 order and we were splitting the total, then it would be considered splitting checks. That is not what we did. My husband ordered and paid for our family of 6 and my son-in-law ordered and paid for himself and his brother. I am ok with the gratuity on my family of 6 but for them to charge the mandatory gratuity on the party of 2 is not ok. That is “bending” the rules to get more money out of your customers. Stop the theft. Will not come back.
I would like to say a comment of our experience in this restaurant. The burritos are awful no good salsas. Horchata was awful meat had no flavor. service was okay. atmosphere was not very family friendly. a group of drunks were being very loud. Wouldn’t recommend this place for food or bringing young children.
Server was great but food was tasteless. Pancakes were raw. Coffee was disgusting and cold. Our first and last time here. So disappointing
Im here in the area for work and was craving chips and salsa and margaritas. It was amazing and the waitress was good as well. How ever the food was absolutely awful. We got Chilequiles and egss and carne asada fries... It was tasteless, cold and missing authenticity... I do not recommend this place if you are craving authentic Mexican food, and lots of flies in the building... We left most of our plate and the total was 53 bucks for 2 people. Ouch...
