Very friendly staff, good seating with views of the bridge. Managed to make fillet very palatable with excellent sides. Peppercorn sauce has a nice kick to it and very flavourful. Desserts were delightful. Gets busy so book yourself a tablet beforehand to avoid disappointment!

We were a pair of lost tourist forgetting it was valentine's day, and basically got shoo-ed from several restaurants. PRIME welcome us warmly to its last available table. And josh patiently made great recommendations to us. Food was fantastic ! Definitely worth a visit 😁👍

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Prime Steak & Seafood during our honeymoon trip to Scotland. It was one of the best meals that we had during our entire visit. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend.

The food tasted great. The cod fillet was served with pasta and the pasta tasted spicy. The mussels were very fresh. Overall dinner was great but a bit pricey.

Food is always amazing and the service even better. I visited last year when I was in Inverness and had to come back this year. My server, Saba - who served me both times, was so welcoming, kind and attentive. I felt bad because I had a late booking but still was welcomed and didn’t feel rushed. Good wine selection too and food and drinks came fast. Thank you and highly recommend!

Must visit spot. We went for a special date night and it was lovely, highly recommended. Very busy place, we were very lucky to get a table even for two, the staff were busy but every time we spoke to them they were kind and attentive. The restaurant manager/maitre d' was friendly, proactive and knowledgeable, absolutely doing her best for all the people trying to get a table as well as her guests, she was fantastic. Drinks, Had a nice Scottish cider, which was a rarity but was nice light and with a refreshing apple finish. Food wise, we shared the seafood platter, with a nice variety of crayfish, rollmops, olives, smoked mussels. It was all fresh and delicious, I would gladly go back for the same tomorrow. Mains, we shared the 1kg bone in tomahawk steak, and added the seasonal veg and garlic mushrooms. Delicious! We ordered rare and and it was just right. Seasoned well, moist and with a nice sear on the outside. Hardest bit was struggling to fight the inner urge to pick up the bone and gnaw on it. Cost, with the tip it came to £130 for the two of us, we couldn't manage dessert, and only 1 alcoholic drink with water on the side.

We had dinner at Prime Steak & Seafood and it was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. It was a busy night with a really good buzz in the place, which says everything. The atmosphere was lively, energetic and welcoming without feeling chaotic. You could feel that people were genuinely enjoying themselves. Despite how busy it was, we were able to get a table and from that moment on the service was exceptional. A massive shout out to Maeve (Méabh). She was outstanding. So friendly, so welcoming and full of personality. Even on a packed night she made us feel completely looked after. Nothing was rushed, nothing was too much trouble. That level of warmth and professionalism makes all the difference and she absolutely nailed it. The steak was next level. Cooked perfectly, packed with flavour and easily one of the best we have had. Proper quality food done right. Maeve’s recommendation for dessert was spot on. She suggested the local ice cream and it was an absolute chef’s kiss. The perfect way to finish an incredible meal. The staff across the board were exceptional. Friendly, upbeat and clearly proud of what they do. When you combine that kind of service with amazing food and a great atmosphere, you get something special. If you are in Inverness and want a steakhouse with serious quality and great energy, this is the place. We will 100 percent be back.

Prime is an exceptional choice for special occasions in Inverness. The portion sizes are substantial, with starters that are surprisingly filling and clearly prepared using fresh ingredients. Special shout out to our servers, extremely sweet ladies who made us comfortable the moment we entered and checked in with us and actively pitching in their recommendations when we asked Starters and Mains The Haggis and Pork Pastry Parcels were immaculate. The meats were perfectly seasoned, encased in fresh pastry, and complemented by a rich mushroom sauce that elevated the entire dish. Similarly, the King Prawns and Mussels served in a Thai curry sauce were excellent. The sauce was velvety with a balanced, subtle spice, and the seafood was cooked to perfection. The Trout en Papillote demonstrated technical skill, as the fish was prepared in delicate, perfect flakes. While the accompanying tomato sauce was a slightly unexpected pairing, it remained a quality meal. Dessert The Cranachan Cheesecake was the highlight of the evening. It was heavenly and stands as one of the best versions of this dessert I have experienced. Highly recommended for those seeking quality dining and generous portions.

Made a reservation for Valentine's Day for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. Seafood board to share as a starter which was so tasty. Husband had the duck which was cooked to perfection. The mussels were absolutely delicious. Staff were lovely and friendly. Can't recommend Prime highly enough

Had arrived a little late to Inverness and was able to enjoy this delicious meal on the patio with my family. Recommend a reservation for inside seating though. Dennis provided excellent service and conversation at our table, truly made my first night in Inverness feel welcoming and warm. The rain picked up a little bit, and we were able to move under an umbrella table. The view was stunning, right on the river, but the food was spectacular! Had the fillet with whiskey sauce and garlic/ thyme butter. One of the best steaks I have had in this country. Cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef! Our server, Dennis, really completed the experience with excellent food recommendations, info on the local area, and the sticky toffee pudding, which is amazing! Other desserts were good, but the toffee pudding was superb! Will return while staying at Inverness in hopes that Dennis is working. Restaurant is a great representation of the City Centre vibe of family, but also a fancy. Highly recommend!!

This is some of the best food I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. We both tried oysters for the first time before a starter of fresh seafood. Our mains were both perfect. I have honestly never had a more tender short rib, ten out of ten! All the food was brought out by lovely, friendly waiters too, which made the meal even better.

Happen to chance by & decided to try. A perfect 5 star rating. Service staff is super friendly & warmth. The price is reasonable & quality, taste of their food is good. The Ribeye beef is nicely cooked to choose. I must say the mussels are superb & fresh. It is slightly spicy for those who love spice. This dish is highly recommended. Dip the toast with the sauce is heavenly. Damage for 2 at £68.50.

My wife and I are Americans. We tried this place for lunch while walking around Inverness. We came back that evening for dinner. The Filet and the seafood were both very good. We were able to buy a reasonably priced bottle of wine that didn’t break the bank. The staff was great. The tables were all a little close to each other but it was ok. This is a lot like the kind of place I like going to in the US, good but not pricey. It sure beat the meals we had been eating at the hotel restaurants. Stay Golden

Last night while walking by the river we accidentally entered the restaurant. The decoration was wonderful, the waiters were smiling and kind! Csaba who served our table was one of the best waiters I have ever had! The food excellent and over our expectations! We ate the most well-cooked and delicious Tomacho steak. Thank you ❤️

Located in the heart of Inverness, Prime Steak and Seafood offers a truly memorable dining experience for lovers of fine cuts and fresh seafood. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and tastefully modern—perfect for both intimate dinners and special occasions. The menu features a superb selection of premium steaks, locally sourced seafood, and seasonal accompaniments. The steaks are cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The seafood dishes, particularly the grilled salmon and scallops, showcase freshness and finesse. Vegetarian options are limited but thoughtfully crafted. The starters and desserts complement the main courses wonderfully, making each meal feel complete and satisfying. Service is top-notch—efficient, attentive, yet never intrusive. The staff are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer pairing suggestions or accommodate dietary requests. Meals are served in a timely manner, with careful presentation and attention to detail. The team at Prime is professional, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable. Their friendly attitude and prompt assistance create a relaxed and comfortable dining experience. Staff members are well-groomed, courteous, and clearly take pride in their work. Everything from food quality to cleanliness and customer care is held to a high standard. The restaurant consistently delivers a refined dining experience without feeling overly formal. Prices are on the higher side, but well justified by the quality of ingredients and service. The interior is elegantly designed with a modern yet cozy vibe. Ambient lighting, tasteful décor, and comfortable seating make for a pleasant setting. The location is central, easily accessible, and ideal for both locals and visitors exploring Inverness. Prime Steak and Seafood is a standout choice in Inverness for those seeking top-tier steak, fresh seafood, and excellent service. Highly recommended for couples, families, and anyone who appreciates quality dining in a relaxed yet upscale setting. Last but not the least, it is always advisable to make a booking prior to reaching the restaurant. Not to visit all on a sudden to avoid unnecessary waiting.

Two outstanding experiences at Prime, one for lunch and one for dinner. There's a reason why everyone we spoke to around the Inverness area enthusiastically recommended this excellent restaurant. The food is inventive, fresh, and generously portioned. Several people mentioned that the filet was not to be missed, and it will be one of the best steaks you've ever experienced. Or, if you prefer your meat on the uncooked side, the tartare is more than enough for two. As a semi-vegetarian, I'm in love with the feta parcels and spiced chick peas. You say you like creamy, French-style cheesecake? Are you in for a treat! One bit of advice for Americans: Prime can only legally serve 25ml liquor pours, and a standard American shot is about 44ml. Just setting expectations. :) Enjoy your fabulous meal!

This is one of the few places I can truly say I’ve had a five star worthy time! From the ambience down to the tiniest of details within the placements of the food presented, everything was stunning. The seafood and tenderness of the beef here was incredible, and the complexity of flavours going on was just right. We tried the beef burger, seafood platter and the cod dish. Maebh made us feel so at home and comfortable. We even got a check back after each dish despite the restaurant filling up. The staff in general are amazing, they’ll make sure your drinks glass is never empty! True hospitality within a beautiful restaurant setting, and incredibly fair prices.

We had a great time at Prime and would highly recommend it, especially if you have the pleasure of being looked after by Eva and Chloe. We arrived 15 minutes early on a rainy late August night. We a dog and was told it was ok if we sat outside. They had heated and covered spots. As we were early we were told we could have drinks upstairs in “The Bar”.(not associated with Prim) When our table was ready, Eva came to get us. During the meal Chloe came with a bone for our dog. Throughout our dining both Eva and Chloe checked we had drinks and our food was ok for us. We lacked for nothing. On the way out they had another bone for the dog. They made sure we had a great experience. Sure it was raining, but we were warm, dry, and full filled. Very full!

Tried out the wee bar upstairs before our dinner time and the staff where very informative and helpful. Tried some new cocktails 🍸 😎 👌. The main dinner was also well presented. The place was quiet busy in the evening but the staff where on top of it and supported us all with an individual touch to service. I would definitely recommend a dinner date or two before you leave Inverness.

Sort of a high end bar feel with excellent food. The mixed seafood appretizer was a meal for 2 on its own. But we also had the duck and beetroot wellington - all fresh, unique and flavorful. And prices were very reasonable for a restaurant near downtown and on the river. Reservations are recommended.

We visited this steakhouse on a Saturday evening, it was quite busy with a noisy atmosphere. The service was still friendly and attentive. The steaks were fine, nothing special but slightly overpriced in my opinion. The stick toffee pudding was delicious. Recommended.

K
Kevin Blackmore

Maebh, our server provided service with a smile & conversation. Alcoholic beverages: Hendricks Gin & blood orange tonic, Jameson whisky & ginger ale. Fresh bread with balsamic & oil while waiting for main dishes. Harissa chicken with a pancetta cream sauce, potatoes, & peas - enjoyable. Cream sauce is very rich. Ribeye (medium) with micro greens, side salad, french fries, & bone marrow gravy. Steak is bland; adding the gravy, scrumptious.

S
Sarah Taylor

Friendly and attentive service from our server (John). Good food, we went for the 2 for £20 menu which was great value. We were the only customers in the restaurant for quite a while, but the background music and nice conversation with staff made for a good atmosphere. Would recommend and will return. Recommend a pint of Hoppyness, a lovely IPA!

Very nice meal. Great sized portions. Only complaint was my chicken dish was missing the peas and pancetta but was still very tasty. Staff were great

D

Had a really nice evening here, the restaurant was full so we sat outside which was a far better choice with the nice weather. The service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive all round. Food was delicious, decent chateaubriand although for a sharer I was expecting 2 sauces and 2 sides option but only got 1 of each in the price? Oysters and mussels were very nice and a fair price. 👌

We were really happy to be seated without a reservation (we were early on a Sunday night) and the food was especially delicious! The service was good but just a tad slow and the noise from the bar was very loud which made it a tad hard to talk together. Mostly it was really yummy!

P
Pam Phansopha

Good restaurant in Inverness with views. However, food is average for me compare to the price and bare in mind about another 20% tax. My recommended dish is salmon with chives (starter menu) they really did it good and flavorful. Duck and fish is okay. Plating is fancy and got me first impression.

M
Marion McInroy

Steak outstanding, chicken bland, toffee pudding stunning, cranahan nice. Server was very good but food took a long time. Decor good but many seats looked torn, maybe that's the way they planned it but sorry it spoils the look of the restaurant.

We went here for a birthday dinner and unfortunately it was an underwhelming experience in terms of the food. We had the haggis parcel which was the special that evening, bread with oil and vinegar garlic mushrooms, the trout and fillet. The haggis parcel was too greasy, it had retained too much oil. The bread was dry inside. The steak was unfortunately overcooked and chimichurri sauce was not authentic, garlic mushrooms only had a hint of garlic, the trout out of all the dishes was the best. We also had beers and a bramble mocktail which was very nice and good option for those who also don’t drink. The server was very friendly, helpful and attentive the food service from the kitchen was a bit slow.

H
Helen Duguid

The food was delicious, but service was disappointing. Starters: Chicken skewers and haggis & pork parcels (think large spring rolls) - lovely and a large Mains: Cod, Sirloin Steak - both very nice Dessert: Cranachan cheesecake, chocolate tart - both delicious The service was the down side. Took ages to get the drinks order taken, and then to receive the drinks, then slow for food coming out. They were very slow to ask if we wanted new drinks.

J
Jessica Boyce

I wanted so badly to love this place because it was highly recommended. It started off great, our mussels starter come out quickly and was delicious. Fast forward 1 1/2 hours and we still did not have our main dishes… while other guests who came nearly 40 minutes after us had received and finished their dishes. The service was good, but I would have been much more pleased had our server given us an update or two on the status of our food given the time we had waited. The sea bass main was exquisite and totally worth the wait. The filet, unfortunately was cooked to about medium-well despite being ordered medium-rare, but was still quite tasty. It was quite nice to look out the window at the River Ness and the overall atmosphere is lovely. I would give it another chance in the future, but our experience tonight was middle of the road.

m
maria wheatley

A popular restaurant, and on a warm June evening it was busy, so we were glad we had booked. Unfortunately, one of the major selling points, the lobster, was not available. I wish we had been told, either in the queue outside or when seated, as this was quite a big disappointment. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, but the food was overpriced, considering the quality. The oysters, in particular were small, dry and a little tired looking, and for £34 I would have expected my steak to be rather less chewy and more flavoursome. The loud music and cramped seating didn’t help the experience. Some of the food was quite nice but overall did not justify the price.

L
Lukas Strielčiūnas

Everyone I know was hyping this place up, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. The chicken skewer starter was very plain and bland, with no real flavor. I ordered a medium-rare fillet steak, but it arrived extremely overcooked — so much so that my colleagues and I were actually laughing about it, as it looked like it had come straight from a crematorium. I managed two bites before leaving the rest. The vegetables, however, were good. Dessert was also a letdown — the sticky toffee pudding was disappointing. I was really looking forward to this meal, but overall I left feeling very disappointed and won’t be returning. On the positive side, the cocktails were excellent, and the staff were very polite and attentive.

We had dinner and order soup of the day tasted baby food, the we had chicken skewers was one piece came cold but the taste was average, for the main course the food took 1 hour and unfortunately was below expectations the fish had no test and the same for the stake, the have gluten free options. It is not an option to consider to good memories

D
Dalal R

The food was not tasty at all!! we had the soup of the day which was sweet potatoes and carrots it tasted like baby food! we took chicken skewers as a starter it came cold as it was precooked then was heated. For main dishes we took the fish cod with smashed garlic potatoes it was ok nothing special, also we took filet steak it was really average. We were so tired and hungry but unfortunately it was not that good, on top of that we waited for the food for almost one hour!! I have celiac (gluten allergy) so all the above orders are gluten free, i wanted to try the mussels but unfortunately it was not gluten free, the other souce contains wine so i can't have it since i can't drink or eat something with wine. The good thing that they removed the chicken skewers from the bill because we mentioned it was cold.

K
Kayla

I was wanting a good steak dinner will out, read the mixed reviews but decided to give it a go. We were sat down right away with no wait. (Sunday dinner). The waiter was friendly and nice, and took our order right away. We got bread for a starter, it was not good, it's just cold, flavorless bread... wouldn't recommend that. We both got the ribeye, and it was cooked rare like we asked, but it was insanely chewy, comparable to a round steak cut. For the price, it's a bit ridiculous. The potatos were disgusting, no flavor. For the price of this place, my expectations were higher, but were overall disappointing. The lady who brought the check was a bit rude and didn't say anything, and when leaving no one said anything as we left as they were all chatting instead. Wouldn't come back.

D
Diego Perona

The food took 50 minutes to be served. We ordered chicken supreme and duck, and both dishes had very little meat. It had no flavor. My dish, which was duck, was served cold. The price that we paid for the service and food served was not worth it.

A
Abi McLelland

Unfortunately our visit was disappointing given the positive reputation. We went for the £20 starter/main deal. For a steak restaurant, our steaks were the worst part. Ordered 3 rump steaks, 2 of which came very over-cooked. Medium-well instead of rare. The medium rare was good though. They were also very noticeablely different sizes. The place itself and service was lovely though slow. Our first round of drinks came just after the starters and the second round didn't come until we had finished our mains despite having ordered it while on starters. Once they arrived the cocktails were nice. So overall, unfortunately I don't think we'll be back.

m
morven maclean

This was supposed to be a nice family meal to celebrate a family members birthday. We had been before and it was nice. So to say we were disappointed is a huge understatement. Do not waste your time or money here. They serve drinks that aren’t what you ordered and then give you the same drinks back but just stirred. Something so basic like a burger should be a safe option but it was absolutely vile. The chicken was pink and not cooked. And even though the waitress saw we hadn’t eaten no apology or discount was offered. The best part of £200 wasted. The only bit that was nice was the ice cream I had but that was only due to it being scooped from a tub. I left hungry and annoyed. Not only was the food shocking - the level of service was worse than you’d get at the local Macdonald’s. Nothing ‘Prime’ about this place - AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you want to waste your money, potentially get food poisoning AND be surrounded by staff who clearly don’t care at all. If I could give this place less than a 1* I would have.

A
Annie Maclean

Absolutely vile. Disgusting food & overpriced. Our chicken was pink, the burger was disgusting. I had left my meal and I was still charged for it. We were served flat lemonades. My sister had asked for fresh ones as there was no sweetness and no fizz. The girl rolled her eyes and most definitely served us the same drinks again. They don’t care about customer experience. We won’t be back here again. We were so shocked as we heard such great things about Prime. Waste of money. £150+ down.

g
gozzhawk

Very poor. Expensive steak (ribeye) was cheuch, lukewarm. Wee out of packet rocket on side of plate (always a bad sign). I got extra prawns which were very poor too. Skin on fries with no skin on. Other diners had tasteless Thai red mussels (cooked ok) and a wee fillet of farmed trout which was maybe ok. Also seen another diner complain about steak. Typical of modern overpriced pub grub trying to be fancy. Will never be back
