Benny and Mary's is praised for its unique, cozy library aesthetic, attentive service (especially Jessica and Jake), and high-quality food. The atmosphere is often described as a 1920s speakeasy. Some find the salt content high or the brunch atmosphere too dark.

Opinions de Benny and Mary's Irvine
We met another couple friend for dinner and we had such a wonderful time!! Delicious hand crafted cocktails, unique and fun to choose. I asked the bartender to pick and make me a drink and it did not disappoint! I wish I would have written our servers name down but I believe it was Lorna? She works every Sunday brunch she mentioned. Her service made our night! She joined in on our energy and met our needs to the T! The manger that night was amazing too! Just the whole vibe, excellent energy in the restaurant. East to park and walk up, takes reservations and they run on time. Open kitchen which is fun to look in on. Good portion sizes Wheatley you want to share and do family style or individually order. Fresh and beautifully presented. Dessert were so yummy and fresh! You must come here!!!
Technically, it's 4.5 stars. Beautiful decor, wonderful ambiance. The service was excellent, informative, and friendly. The food was fantastic. Party of 6 had appetizers, mains, and dessert and drinks. All enjoyed their meal. I would give 4.5 stars because the serving sizes are very small. The only side dishes that were average size were the Brussel sprouts appetizer( delish) and burger. The pasta was tiny, like the size of your fist, the vegan meatloaf and vegetables were so good, but also a very small serving. The lemon meringue dessert was very, very good.
I had a great first experience at Benny and Mary's! The building used to be the old Prego and Davio's location. I used to come here for lunch when I worked in the Irvine Towers. The interior and decor for Benny and Mary's is so much better and trendy! It's very Posh and clean! If I were working at a restaurant at night, I would want it to be just like this. The colors are vibrant, and I appreciate the detail of the whole place! We came in for Valentines Day and had the Pre-Fixe menu! MADISON was our server, and we couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of us. She was very attentive, detailed and charming. We brought our own bottle of wine (Corkage $40), and the one thing I really liked was that she decanted our wine. I thought that it was a very nice touch. Most restaurants I have been to don't do that and I really appreciated that. The Pre- Fixe was $120 per person and included the choice of a few different items. I chose the Crab Cake, My date chose the Pork Belly for the Starter. For the Main, they ran out of the Lobster Tail and they were able to substitute it for Scallops, which I was happy about. My date ordered the Scallops on saffron risotto. I found that we couldn't get enough of the risotto! Very addictive! My order was the Filet and Scallops! Well prepared! As far as drinks, I ordered a traditional Vesper (Its my go to or a Dirty Martini) and she ordered the Earl Of Lavender! Our overall experience was great! Madison helped make the night fun and memorable! Thank you for being attentive to us! We will definitely come back. We are looking forward to trying their bourbon bread pudding and tasting the regular menu.
We were welcomed with a friendly invite, seated right away. The ambiance of the place is awesome. Our server knew what we needed and was on point with timing. My beef plate was mouth-watering and proportioned perfectly. We even got a private tour of the place through a secret entrance. Batcave style. Would highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back. Thanks for the great service.
Our second time at Benny and Mary’s and really enjoyed our food. Service and atmosphere. The menu has changed since April. We ordered the brussel sprouts and the shrimp ceviche for appetizers and just like last time the brussel sprouts is the best I have ever tasted. Very nice and crispy great flavor SNA stehe goat cheese takes it to the next level. The shrimp ceviche was very nice and my wife who is a big fan of ceviches said this was one of the best she has had. For main courses we ordered the bacon cheeseburger 5 stars, the osobuco short ribs 5 star, the salmon was amazing, well cooked and the fried rice and bok Choy accompanying the dish were so flavorful and complimented the salmon so nicely. Best entree from my view. We also got the 18oz ribeye. It was cooked well but I wasn’t crazy about the black garlic butter sauce. I would give the steak a 4 star. The side mushrooms are sweet so a bit different than the side mushrooms that you get at other steakhouses. The restesraunt was bustling on this Saturday night with a private party. Our server was John C, who was awesome. Very attentive to our needs and knowledgeable about the menu and recommended great cocktails. I didn’t realize last time that we were here that there is also a speakeasy hidden in the library. I took a picture when a couple entered it. Pretty cool.
This was truly an outstanding dining experience from beginning to end. We had a sister date night this past Saturday. Our reservation was for 5:10. The restaurant was beautiful, from the paintings, chandeliers, bookshelves of books, wall décor and tapestry. The atmosphere was really cool. Our waitress was extremely helpful. She answered all of our questions and was knowledgeable about the menu. I started with a drink called, “Punch Me”. I enjoyed the drink, but it had way too much ice. For my second round, I tried “Snake Oil”. I loved the mix of the tequila and the spicy grapefruit flavor, a definite must-try. For apps, we had the Yum Yum Shrimp (Crispy Shrimp Tossed In Yum Yum Sauce On a Bed of Thai Salad) and Cheese Dumplings (Dumplings Stuffed With Five Cheeses, Mild Tomato Bisque, Bacon Bits, Chives). Those cheese dumplings are addicting. I could literally eat 20 of them with that tomato bisque. There were only three of us, and the appetizer came with four dumplings. We had to flip to see who got the last one. For dinner, I ordered the Bucatini. This was a pasta dish. I almost switched out the pork belly for shrimp, but I’m glad I did not make any changes. Such a solid dish. The combination of the cream sauce, parmesan, and the little crunch from the breadcrumbs worked really well together. T ordered the Short Rib Ossobuco. Short ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. The chimichurri sauce was phenomenal. J ordered the Black Sheep, which was a burger with bourbon bacon jam, garlic aioli, and white cheddar cheese. She raved about how well the burger was cooked and tasted amazing. For dessert, we shared a coffee cake that had a scope of vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle. So yummy. The staff was wonderful! I was admiring the books and painting on the bookshelves when I was told that if I picked the right book, it would open a secret room. I thought he was joking! No, he was not. A book opened a secret, cool room. I was told the room is used for private events and mixology classes. I know I could have a nice bday party or special event there. Check out the website for more information. Please take a trip to this hidden gem in Irvine. I guarantee that you’ll have a great dining experience!
Hands down my favorite place for every special occasion and always the best option for brunch ! Hopefully you’re lucky enough to have Garrett making drinks for you! The drinks are special (highly recommend the Trinidaddy), apps will make you feel good (cheese dumplings are out of this world) and all the main dishes are fusion perfection !
Nothing but an excellent service and exceptional warm Vibes. Our first time and it will not be the last one. Since this is a first visit, we asked Victoria (one of amazing team) to pick for us. All plates were her choice and I can tell that Victoria NAILED IT!!! The place has a unique decorative theme that i never seen anywhere else. There are multiple sections, we sat at the Library theme wall. There was a hidden room behind the books like secret locations but it was for private groups events. There a patio and very decorative bar. Forgot to mention, that when we called the call went to VM due to line been busy. Couple of minutes after we received a call from the restaurant to return our call!!! That was very respectful to me, I really appreciate it. This is a MUST TRY experience. Thank you team.
This is a super cute spot for brunch. The restaurant is clean and staff is helpful and so friendly. We ordered the Benny eggs, green chilaquiles and Açaí waffles. They were all so good and perfectly seasoned. For dessert we ordered the lemon meringue cheesecake which was a little too sweet for our liking. My friend mentioned it to our waitress and she has no problem taking it back and off our check. The staff and beautiful restaurant made it such a pleasant lunch that we will be coming back.
Kevin the manager is amazing. So nice and hospitality. Made my lunch so special and everyone felt his hospitality. We would all go back because of Kevin. The menu has some really good options. The only down side was the fries were soggy BUT doesn’t detract from the experience. Loved the beautiful interior and the overall ambiance. Thank you so much!
It was a date night for two, great atmosphere, exceptional dining experience; food, drinks and dessert. Every entree ordered was exceptional: cheese dumplings, salmon, goat cheese tomato crostini, Konge… This restaurant redefined my dining experience AAA+
Benny and Marry's in Irvine gave us one of the best dining experiences we've ever had, thanks to our server Alex. From start to finish, he was welcoming, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He helped us with the menu, made excellent recommendations, and created such a warm atmosphere for our family. We were celebrating sending our son off to college, and Alex truly went out of his way to make it special. After our meal, he even took the time to show us the speakeasy room and let us walk around to see it, which meant a lot since my wife hosts speaker meetings for our church. He then walked us over to the party room, making the whole evening feel extra thoughtful and memorable. This wasn't just dinner — it was a beautiful experience. Thank you, Alex, for your hospitality and kindness. 100/100 — highly
Great place for brunch. The French toast was the best I’ve had in a long time. Chicken and waffle was good. Would like to try dinner one day.
Loved loved loved. Definitely will be back. Service was attentive and personable by all wait staff. Beautiful decor (reminded me of Story in Anaheim Hills). Cocktails were well balanced. Food was delicious...our group had the steak and eggs, omelette, and chilaquiles, spicy bloody Marys, and . Can't wait to visit the speakeasy. This was definitely worth trying and I will be back for sure.
We came here Sunday night for our Annual Father/Daughter dinner and we had the best time! We were warmly greeted by Natalie, the hostess, whose genuine hospitality immediately made us feel at home. She set the perfect tone for what turned out to be a fantastic dining experience. Our server, Katie, was equally wonderful — friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She made thoughtful recommendations and ensured that everything arrived just as we wanted it. The food and cocktails were absolutely delicious! Every dish was expertly prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in their work. It’s rare to find such a perfect balance of excellent food and outstanding service, but this place delivers on both fronts. A huge thank you to Natalie and Katie for making our visit so memorable — we’ll definitely be back!
Great place! Ambience was outstanding. Food was good. Chicken and waffles is the go to dish. Waffles were nice and thick. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our waiter (Dylan) was awesome! Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be coming back!
My wife and I just enjoyed one of the absolute best high-quality breakfasts we have ever had in Orange County. If you are looking for a first-class dining experience in Irvine, this is it. The Atmosphere: The interior is stunning. The space is expansive with high ceilings, whimsical artwork, and distinct "posh" vibes thanks to the beautiful velvet seating and eclectic decor. It features a large full bar that acts as a centerpiece, and there is a lovely outdoor patio if you prefer fresh air. It feels upscale but very welcoming. The Food: The quality here is undeniable. We ordered the Ribeye Chilaquiles (highly recommended), and it was spectacular—the steak was a generous, high-quality cut cooked perfectly, sitting atop flavorful chilaquiles and eggs. We also had the Eggs Benedict, which was plated beautifully with crispy country potatoes. Everything was delicious and fresh. The Service: Top-notch. The staff was attentive, professional, and added to the overall first-class feel of the morning. As a Local Guide who has seen many spots in OC, Benny and Mary's stands out as a clear winner. We will definitely be back and look forward to dining here soon.
This restaurant is on the middle of an office park, so very unexpected. The dining room was really cool, anchored with a library. Great food. For starters, the drinks were great and unique. All food was very flavorful. The fish main dish was made perfectly. Service was fine. Some of our order was showing up out of order or delayed. One of the desserts didn't show up till after we paid for the bill :-/
The food was great! I had the Sea Bass and it melted in my mouth. I had a signature drink a smores old fashion that makes a great dessert. Server was very attentive which is something I always like. We'll be back!
Jake was connected with all the guests. Present, personable, and smoothly in control behind the bar. The Delahunt Overcast IPA poured a cloudy bronze with a lemony, lightly hopped kick. The Karl Strauss Tower X was my favorite. Golden, smooth, not too carbonated, with a crisp bitter finish that sparked something young and sharp. The crispy pork belly came in huge perfect chunks. Crackling outside, tender inside. Paired with broccolini, a poached egg, and my first take on polenta, every bite was sweet, savory, spicy. An adventure in flavors and textures. The space is beautiful and stylish. Lamps and lighting add their own charm. The hockey game is on, and if you know where to look, there's a private event room that just might transform into a speakeasy. Plenty of parking right out front free with validation, being your ticket.
The food was really good here! Everything we tried was very tasty! We, especially, liked the Cheese Dumplings and the Goat Cheese Crostini! The Lobster Ravioli was very good too! However, everything was a little heavy handed on the salt. If the chefs could ease up on the salt, it would be perfect!
It’s strange to have a nice dining establishment in the middle of an office park but it’s Benny and Mary’s. They did an awesome job with the atmosphere with super high ceilings and attention to detail. Only problem is may feel dated in a few years. The food was excellent. The oysters were decent but not recommended. They have better options. Same with the burger, they have better options unless you have to have a burger. But all other dishes were well prepared, relatively create and very good. If you have a date you want to impress, I would take her here.
Came here for the first time a few nights ago and had the best service, food and it was easy to find and park available as well as valet. The restaurant is very trendy and has a spacious back room/speakeasy style as well as a private dinning room from there. Really friendly staff and management. Highly recommend you give this spot a visit. Oh and they have brunch on weekends. :)
This is such a cool spot in Irvine! The food is absolutely delicious and I loved the cocktails, which were super unique and tasty! The decor was amazing (it felt like a 1920s speakeasy library?) and the service was fantastic as well. Will definitely be coming back!
I’d been eyeing this restaurant for a while, and I’m glad we finally got to try it. It’s located where the old Prego restaurant used to be. They offer valet service, and the ambiance is dark, cozy, and intimate. I’m a sucker for that library aesthetic, and this place definitely delivered on that vibe. Here’s what we ordered: Cheese Dumplings in Tomato Bisque – I’m still unsure how I feel about this one. It was a bit unusual, but somehow I found myself enjoying it. Brussels Sprouts – Light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with goat cheese. I really liked this dish. Thai Salad with Ahi Tuna – The Ahi Tuna was cooked exactly to my liking. Short Rib Ossobuco – My boyfriend ordered this and really enjoyed it. We also tried a couple of cocktails: the Konge, which was more spirit-forward but very well-balanced, and the Adult Green Juice, which was lighter and refreshing. Both were enjoyable to say the least. Service was okay. We had to flag someone down a few times, but thankfully we never had to wait too long. Overall, we were pretty satisfied and would likely come back. I’d definitely recommend this place for a date night.
Cute place with great service. Food was delicious. They validate parking which is nice so you can park in a garage or the open surface lots near the restaurant. Made a reservation and walked in with no issue or wait. Food was great. The drunken goat burger was delicious and the cheese had a sweetness that made it amazing. The chicken was the weakest dish with the chicken itself a little dry but the side dishes on it were delicious, I wish it had more Brussels sprouts. The Korean short rib tacos were a great appetizer. 3 of them in the order. The meat was delicious. And finally the cheesecake was amazing. The cake was perfect and the fruit added a nice hint to it. Overall will def be back.
Tried out for an early dinner on Friday while visiting Irvine on business. Appreciated curated selection of drinks (I went for my tried and true choice of wine, instead of those varieties of cocktails) and menu. Jessica, the server, was attentive, super friendly and great with menu recommendations. Had the arugula salad, filet, cooked to perfection, and coffee cake. Will be coming back with mom to enjoy next time. Highly recommend.

Had a great first experience here. Came to celebrate my 21st. I believed our server was named Jessica(?) Super friendly and gave us some recommendations for our food. The ribeye sandwich was great, and the short rib fries were amazing as well. Our server was also very attentive and came back to check on us multiple times. We also got a complimentary birthday brownie which to my surprise was excellent considering I’m not usually a brownie fan.
We went in for happy hour and ended up having dinner. Everything was excellent- Truffle Parm Fries, Blistered green beans, Chicken Picatta and Rib-Eye Sandwich. Mashed Potatoes were to die for!! High quality and reasonable prices. Our waitress was very helpful & attentive. Will be back! I love their decor and outdoor dining. Perfect for that Special Occasion, or regular spot.

Went here for a business dinner Monday night. It was definitely pretty empty. They allowed me to sit right when I got there even though the rest of my party wasn't there yet. I had no problems with the service and the people were nice but I only gave four stars because it wasn't absolutely stand out. The place is beautiful, as you can probably tell from multiple pictures. A bit dark and emo, and would probably work for a romantic dinner. The food was good but not great. I don't like mushrooms but got them for the table, and honestly they were delicious. However my prime rib, medium rare, was on the bland side. The brussel sprouts were also very good. Maybe this is telling me I should just go for sides rather than a main dish! Almost forgot, got the cheesecake which was solid.
Service was top notch! Thanks to Madison our server for taking good care of us on my birthday. She was informative, attentive and apologetic when my husband’s steak came out a little over cooked. They give you a glass of champagne as a compliment for your birthday. The hamachi crudo appetizer was incredibly fresh with light citrus flavor, fish was top grade. My salmon dish was cooked well and was good however I would have expected creative culinary sides rather than ordinary bok choy, mushrooms and edamame. The fried rice was bland and dry. Salmon itself had a nice crisp skin. Steak was order as medium rare and came out more medium however was flavorful and a great cut of NY bone in. Loved the black garlic butter. Dessert was a delicious whiskey bread pudding that our server comped for the steak mishap and my birthday. Cocktails were flavorful and lovely presentation.
I really liked the food here, but we were ther on a Friday night and the vibe was really dead, I think this is probably a more after work or lunch spot… I liked it, but it’s also a small menu and none of the entrees spoke to me. We loved the pasta, it was a lemon bucatini I think, and the tomatoe soup appetizer was bomb. I had the short rib which was great and the highlight was the cheesecake. I rarely even order cheesecake but WOW 🤩 IT was great! The cocktails were kinda confusing lol I ordered a clear something and it was good but wouldn’t order again… all in all I would come back here and try for lunch. It is a beautiful space too and our server Brian was wonderful
First time here for brunch and not a bad experience. The food was quite good, and they had a great menu of brunch offerings. Enjoyed a mimosa and a michelada with some chilaquiles and chicken and waffles. Everything was very tasty. My only complaint was that the type of beer they used for the michelada was really bitter. Service overall was good, although I think we were helped by around six different people in the time we were there, and we weren't quite sure who our waiter was. Nevertheless everyone was very friendly. A little on the pricey said as most things are these days, just over $100 for two people, but the portions were generous enough.
For anyone that has seen my reviews, I always start off with the positive. The restaurant is in a great location, and the entrance and the foyer are very impressive. The interior of the restaurant is well appointed, especially for a large establishment. The main dining room which is to the left of the hostess stand is the preferable seating. The other seating to the right of the hostess stand is less inviting, but the bar area provides some intimate high tops for a bistro feel. However, on the downside, the restaurant struggles with its identity. The menu appears to change frequently, leaving loyal customers, confused, and disappointed that their favorite menu item is no longer available. Given the price point of the restaurant, the wine list by the glass is sorely lacking. Of the 10 or so wines available by the glass only one was from Napa Valley. All the rest are mid-level $10 bottles you can buy at Ralph’s. The restaurant has the potential to be a five star establishment, but it’s not quite there.
This is the second year we go there for our Christmas brunch. My son and his family go there often so he can vouch for their food. I had egg Benedict with smoked salmon and it was very good. They had chicken and waffle. The place was not very busy, because it was a weekend. Service was good. Plenty of parking.
The interior of Benny and Mary's is very quaint and unique. It has a nice vibe and they even have a private room hidden behind the bookshelf. The food here was good, but nothing really wowed me. For appetizers we ordered the Grill Cheese Dumplings and Garlic Shrimp. The Grill Cheese Dumplings were a cool take on Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque. The soup was tasty. The Garlic Shrimp was okay. Not a lot of garlic flavor. For my entree I ordered the Chicken Milanesa. The cutlet was lightly breaded and reminded me of a Chicken Katsu. The whipped feta was a nice touch and paired well with the chicken. My friends ordered the Short Rib Stroganoff and the Black Sheep Smash Burger. The burger was good, but the patties weren't really smashed down enough to get a nice crust. The stroganoff lacked the creaminess youd expect. I might consider coming back, but definitely not in a rush to do so.
Love the rich colors, textures, and art that creates a cozy, upscale library feel. The food was out of this world. We started with the grilled cheese dumplings in tomato soup. Absolutely divine with bursting flavor! I followed up with the Sea Bass which melted in my mouth delivering a variety of delights! The cocktails are creative and smooth with a hint of spiciness. Unfortunately, our waitress was not attentive. On two separate occasions, she took our drink orders and each time brought back one, then followed 20 or so minutes later with the wrong drink. Bizarrely, she did it again on the third round. She disappeared frequently and we were left waiting for long periods of time. For a $350 tab for two people, Id expect better service. I'll give it another try because the food and drinks are fantastic!
An aesthetically decorated restaurant/bar with very pleasant service. We were attracted to the menu, so we had some expectations on the flavor profile of the food. We ordered 2 sweet and 1 savory. The 2 sweet dishes, mango lassi French toast and the berry waffle, promoted fun flavors which unfortunately were barely present outside of the aesthetic. I do have to say, The waffle was nice and airy and crispy while the French toast was moist and fluffy. The French toast and the We concluded the savory was much better. They had plenty of vegetarian options!
This was the first time here, one of our friends picked to celebrate birthdays. So we ordered: 1. Cheese dumplings: the cheese stuffing was too little so got lost. However, the wonton cup was perfectly crispy and the tomato bisque was delicious. 2. Goat cheese tomato crostini: was delicious but similar tomato bisque above. Needed more crostini to accommodate the bisque. 3. Beef Tartare: delicious and beautiful presentation. Needed more bread to accommodate the tartare. 4. Shortribs Ossobuco: delicious. The meat was falling off the rib, not salty, not super rich, very meat flavored. 5. Seabass: delicious and plating was beautiful. Fresh, cooked perfectly without being dry, well seasoned. 6. Salmon: similar to the seabass. Generous fish portion. 7. Lobster ravioli: very good but didnt taste much lobster. 8. Ribeye: didn't get to taste it but looks perfectly cooked and good quality meat. 9. Banana froster: great Banana flavor and not super sweet. 10. Ricotta cheesecake: pretty good. 11. Coffee cake: good, not too sweet. However, not much flavors. 12. Birthday chocolate cake: pretty good, light and not too sweet. We were there on Sun night, not busy but the service was pretty slow. Overall, the food was very good, beautiful presentations, and "generous" portions compared to similar restaurants for similar prices and qualities.

I don’t recommend this restaurant for brunch, might be good for dinner: 1-It’s a beautiful night decor. While I liked the atmosphere, it’s not what you want for brunch. It’s a dim interior and I was a bit sleepy after spending an hour there 2-I knew I’m at the wrong place as soon as I saw coffee is served in clear glass mugs. This is only appropriate for tea…The coffee taste was more like burnt water. If any the management is reading my review, please change your beans. Something from Costa Rica or Guatemala would be nice 3-I can’t comment on the food, didn’t finish mine because it was a bit spicy for me. It wasn’t necessarily bad tho 4-I appreciate the management taking care of the bill once we noticed there was a big piece of paper in one of the dishes
We liked but didn't love our food. I think most people mainly come for the drinks. The seabass was undercooked and tough in the very center, but otherwise tasty. Medium rare ribeye sandwich was decent although the meat was not quality, like trimmings. We tried a couple of appetizers. The cheese dumplings dish was a remix of grilled cheese and tomato soup. I didn't taste the pistachio in the pesto on the flatbread; it tasted more like a standard pizza. So they were good but had very basic flavors. Atmosphere was super cool though. Service was good. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you intend to imbibe. They even seem to have a "hidden" backroom/speakeasy.
Food was just ok. The atmosphere/vibe was very chic. Waiter was non-existent until it was tipping time, then he put a fake smile on his face.

We came here as a party of 11 and were disappointed with both the service and the food. From the start, water was only refilled once during our entire meal, even with such a large group. Several dishes came out cold — my seabass in particular was literally ice cold in the middle. On top of that, I had to wait over 20 minutes for my seabass while everyone else at the table already had their food, despite the fact that we ordered everything at the same time. At the end of the meal, one dish that was more than half full was cleared away without even offering to box it up, which felt careless given the price point of this restaurant. For what they charge, I expected far better service and food quality. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short. However the steak is good! But seriously the service needs to step up!!!!!!! The restaurant was half empty on the Saturday night! Management !!! Pay attention, that’s not Service fault is your management fault! !!!!
The bartenders were super nice, but the manager kept arguing with them about a broken blender and cleaning an extra shelf instead of helping, which made them ignore the only four customers in the place. The happy hour isn’t worth it — two drinks and a flatbread cost me $53. The flatbread had a lot of cheese, but some of the lower layers were still cold. It’s sad because the place itself is beautiful, but it’s easy to see why so many staff members have left and why it seems to be going downhill. This was my ninth — and last — visit.
