EMC Seafood is popular for its fresh seafood, especially the oysters during happy hour. Many reviewers rave about the uni pasta and garlic noodles. Service can be slow when busy, and some find it pricey outside of happy hour.
Tip: Visit during happy hour (4PM-7PM) for reasonable prices on food and drinks, especially the $1 oysters.

Seriously this is the BEST oyster bar we've found yet in CA. Happy hour is the way to go and they added dim sum to their menu which is steelar. We are NEVER disappointed when we come here. Did and drinks are always on point. The worst part about coming here is deciding what to order because it's all amazing and consistently amazing.
Actually came here for happy hour this time. Service was slow but I believe it was because they were training someone. But the food is so good so I'll keep the 5 stars. I really like their uni pasta and zucchini fries. As much as I like xiao long baos, I didn't like these as much since the meat was tough for some reason. But will definitely be back even if it's just for their uni pasta or their happy hour.
I am a oyster lover and this place is by far the best Happy Hour place for $1 oyster. It's even a plus if you like HK style dim sum because they serve during Happy Hour too! Fresh and tasty food, but the only recommendation I have will be the fried dim sum needs to be hotter. Be ready to wait for half an hour before you can get a table. P. S. We revisited on 6/3, today the busines was very good but oyster was super tiny...
Very well organized during Covid-19 pandemic. They have patio seating which is great. Their raw oysters are fresh but I wish they will be bigger 😆 Other dishes portion are big enough to make you full. They have Happy Hour menu from 4PM-7PM which offers very reasonable price for food and drinks. Nice staffs and clean restaurant. Highly recommended!
This garlic noodle is freaking good, probably the second best asian noodles I've had in my life. The shrimp tacos are definitely worth getting, one of the best shrimp tacos I've had in my life. The server did an outstanding job in serving us, very attentive and patience with us, although it took several trips for him to get all of our orders in place, he was there whenever we need service. The $1.75 oysters during happy hour was such a good deal, we ordered 18 of them and we wanted more! Some oysters are pretty small tbh, but they were all really fresh and you can see the kitchen staff opening those oysters one by one, freshly opened as you see.
I came here mainly for the brunch service on Sundays. My expectations weren't really high just because I didn't see too many comments about the brunch so I was in for a pleasant surprise. When I got there, I was pleased with the amount of food that they had - and honestly... if you're just here for the seafood - I think it's a Great deal depending on how much you ate. I'm sure I ate my worth through the seafood ! They have a seafood/ cold dish bar with salads and some potato salad... then we have the raw bar with the Peruvian scallops (SO GOOD), the oysters (limit 4 per plate, just come back for more after you're done), some clams. They also had snow crab legs, mussels, and an assortment of sushi rolls in this section. The cooked foods has a good amount of items as well !! There was prime rib, rack of lamb, PORK BELLY (omfg), porridge, clam chowder, beef cubes, MUSHROOM TRUFFLE PASTA (was amazing). I'm just naming some of the items but it was a nice assortment and I was overall happy. The oyster Rockefeller was good too, for ones who preferred a more cooked oyster. They also had a lovely fruit, dessert, and made to order crepe bar. If you're feeling the breakfast side .. they also have french toast, hash browns, bacon and sausages etc. Last but not least, they have a made to order menu on the table -- it has a few great omelette options although I was focused on other things to try it. They also walk around with mini lobster rolls - YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS ! And each person gets an order of baked half lobster. One more thing: you HAVE to try the oyster flan. Overall it was such a good experience and I will be back again with family! Not to mention, it's ALL YOU CAN DRINK MIMOSAS! Happy brunching.
my favorites: GARLIC NOODLES, calamari, fried tacos, kids chicken strips, garlic fries, garlic mushroom aioli. i don't eat oysters, but my party does, and they handle 3 to 4 platters worth.. I'm guessing they're good. they're service is pretty quick and attentive. the food is fresh. the ambience is clean. be careful in the women's restroom. the first stall is immediately behind the entrance.. and coming out could be dangerous :) and they're open late. it's our reverse happy hour go to.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service! It was a little dead tonight but the food was delicious. Shout out to the chef. We got two sushi rolls, beef mignon and lobster raviolis. Definitely my favorite. Can’t wait to go back and try more items off the menu.
Super busy and understaffed. Everyone is hurting right now with being low on workers. But they were incredibly kind, made up for the delay. And the food is wonderful. The lobster raviolis and Siu Mi is extraordinary. It’s worth it. We ate here two night in a row. And the atmosphere is quite pleasant.
The late night happy hour is worth it. Service was crazy fast. $1 dollar chefs choice oysters were great. We ended up getting 2 dozen. Definitely coming back again.
Great happy hour! Get there before 6pm or you'll be waiting for. Been here multiple times. Garlic noodles, clay chowder and now Dim Sum! Not Monterey Park quality, but pretty good for happy hour and will come back for sure!
This is a massive establishment, no doubt designed to keep lines to a minimum. Came here for happy hour so we primarily order those items (truffle fries, crispy garlic brussel sprouts, and a dozen raw oysters), but also added the uni pasta, which was the best part of the meal. They most definitely do NOT skimp on the portion size. We felt bad for the staff as most of the pasta we gave our 16-month-old son ended up on the floor, he spilled a few cups of water, and we must've used an entire box of napkins. But they were gracious and kind throughout. We will be back.
The 1$ oyster, calamari, and garlic noodles are to die for. Come in 4-7 for Happy hours, the best deals. Have to say the best 1$ oyster I ever had. How they keep it fresh it amazing, I been to others and they always have a yellow look to them or no ocean water. These oyster have both wooooo and taste fresh.
The food is incredible! So delicious. Loved everything I ordered. The dumplings are heaven and there's lots of different options. Oysters were super fresh. Uni pasta is SUPER filling and rich, but delicious (however the noodles were slightly overcooked). The scallop carppacio was so freaking yummy! The service was amazing, the dude with the tattoos is wonderful! Overall this is my new fav spot and can't wait to come back for happy hour 👏
A sunny Saturday evening with a light breeze blowing on the outside patio. Dance beats blasting and a nice selection of items for Happy Hour. They no longer serve dim sum (they stopped completely) but some of the other dishes are good with decent portion sizes. Definitely nice place for happy hour 4-6:30 (they stop taking orders at 6:20).
I've been here a couple of times or more - the most recent was last week. It's a place that can be casual or smart, it's a bright and cheery eatery. The menu caters to all, there's lots of variety. We ordered the fries, calamari and Brussel sprouts from the Happy Hour - all delicious! Then I had the Shrimp Fried Rice - there were loads of shrimp and great flavor. I love the environment, we weren't rushed and it wasn't too loud - definitely worth a visit.... (I've been at lunchtime too - just as good)! Enjoy...
Had a team Christmas dinner here during happy hour times. Absolutely fantastic! Quality of food is so fresh and delicious. Servers put up with 17 of us. We ordered at least 2 of everything on the menu. Uni pasta is a must and that 60$ rib eye was the bomb. Thank you for hosting us for a great dinner party!
This was our first time and the food was delicious. Happy hour prices were on point. Our waitress was exceptional, took good care of us. The shrimp garlic noodles were awesome. Will definitely go back again.
The food here is good and prepared well. The grilled oysters were prepared perfectly, but I wouldn't order the Rockefeller ones again. The flavor profile of the creamy spinach was too strong and took away the flavor of the oyster completely. There are others that do a better job accenting the oyster's natural briny flavor. The soft shelled crab sliders and uni toast were fantastic. I definitely recommend those two dishes.
A solid seafood restaurant. The oysters were fresh and sweet. They had great texture and didn't taste briny. Other seafood dishes were also great. Calamari is made with whole mini squids and fried very to a crisp that isn't overwhelmingly greasy. Fish was also fresh tasting and had a firm bite to them. Everything I had was very good and the price wasn't too bad either when going during happy hour. This is definitely a place I will be returning to.
Went here tonight and ate from the happy hour menu, We had several items. Catfish, chicken wings, oysters, albacore sashimi and salmon carpaccio. All where very good but the Salmon Carpaccio was exceptionally good. This tastes so good, I think it could be a cure for E. D.. Salmon is in a truffle sauce with caviar on top soo good!
Stopped by here since I saw they serve lobster rolls. Came during lunch time and was quickly seated and the waiter was very nice. The lobster roll was really tasty. There was a lot of meat and they give you a little cup of melted butter to use as a dip. Saw other people ordered appetizer types of dishes and they also looked delicious. I will definitely come back here and try other things on the menu. I recommend this place if you’re looking for some lobster rolls!
I enjoyed my first experience here. The customer service was wonderful! The seafood tasted fresh and everything was delicious. My favorites were the calamari, garlic pasta, and oysters. I'm normally scared to eat raw seafood because I'm prone to food poisoning, but my tummy as still happy the next day. I'll be returning in the future.
Food good Service good Atmosphere good Price not good on the wallet but value wise i can see the justification Improvement needed: i never got any utensils for each new dish. You're given a fork and knife. My oysters came and i didnt get one of those mini forks. My sashimi came and i didnt get chopsticks. Had to request them each time.
They are pricey. Let's get that out of the way. But, you also get quality food. The restaurant is a very popular restaurant as there has always been large crowds here. However, the night I went, the restaurant was barely busy. I understand that during pandemic, restaurants cannot operate at full capacity but there were so few tables being occupied inside and they also had the outdoor tent. The tent was not being used. Not sure why it took so long for us to be seated. Did not look like they were understaffed.
Fun experience here. They have seafood done many ways. Sushi, raw, cooked, grilled, pasta, Asian dishes. The cooking isn't traditional Asian so you get more of a clean plate (less oil). As long as you can handle seafood, this place is great. Casual atmosphere, the kitchen is open so you can watch them cook, and there's TVs everywhere so you can watch sports too. Waiters are friendly and can give recommendations. I'd definitely come back here to try the other half of their menu. Lots of parking.
Happy hour included $1 fresh oysters (we got 2 rounds of 3 dozen shared with 4 ppl 🤤😋), shrimp & fish tacos were pretty good as well as their garlic noodles. Overall, would definitely recommend this spot to seafood lovers! Gave it a four star because it could be a little more cleaner, the place setting that my table of 11 received was dirty, it still had globs of food residue on it.
7 of us walked in at 11:30 for lunch without reservations, we were seated within 5 minutes of waiting. We ordered Cajun Seafood Broiled, Seafood Tower, Uni pasta, Lobster Ravioli, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Lobster Roll, and Fries with Truffle mushroom. Plenty of food we got here, more than enough for 7 people. All seafood dishes were very fresh. The Cajun dish could have been spicier or a little stronger flavor. It would be nice if they offered some disposition apron to prevent your dress from getting messy. However we asked for the latex gloves which helped a lot. I love their Seafood Tower - plenty of raw pacific oysters and others goodies such as whole lobster, Alaskan King Crab and fresh Uni. Their pastas were so amazing with rich and creamy sauces, you can literally smell the ocean while having the Uni pasta. Staffs were so friendly and attentive but we had to ask for fresh plates when they were overwhelmed with all kind of sauces on them. Five stars would be given if they could bring out more flavor on the Cajun dish and provide more proper tools to execute the shell fishes without messing your favorite shirt.
Great during happy hour but a very expensive to go if you do not come during then. My favorite things to get during happy hour are 1 dollar oysters and the garlic noodles. I usually get between 6 to 10 oysters and then fill up my stomach with the garlic noodles. They also have some beer and wine on the happy hour menu that are reasonably priced so check that out.
This fun place could get busy during happy hour, especially so with their $1 oysters. These are not the best but hey, where else can you find $1 oysters. The deep fried catfish is super good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. On the other hand, for some reason the deep fried fish is oily. Place is huge but, surprisingly, the noise level is not bad. Parking is free, major credit cards accepted.
Hanna's never disappoints! The food is always excellent! They have an amazing Flank Steak Salad. It is not cheap but well worth the money. They do not charge a corkage fee for one or two bottles of wine so you can save there.
Had an early dinner here. It's a marriage of an oyster bar with dim sum! The servers are all complacent and used to their jobs, so there is a lack of motivation to provide excellent service. No real introduction by our server or welcoming to this place as first-time visitors. No offers to take our drinks or to check up on us. The food was mediocre and the dim sum felt like it was pre-made even though our server said it would be a 15 minute wait, which it was not. Plain old complacency everywhere.
I love this place. Everything is fresh and well prepared. Very clean and welcoming, the staff is polite and accommodating. They also have a great selection of wine. There house wines are especially delicious. Definitely a must if you like seafood. The seafood fried rice was unlike anything I ever eaten.
Happy hour specials average $5. I had the garlic noodles and shrimp tacos off the happy hour menu and they were both really good. Their beer selection on draft is decent, and they have a good selection of Japanese whiskey.
Great food but a little bit overpriced on the alcohol. We ordered dozen Oysters and oysters were tasty but soo small and overpriced for that size of oysters. Can get bigger oysters elsewhere with same price. Clam chowder soup was delicious on top of fish tacos and the brussel sprouts. Nice place to eat at if you have a big group but can get quite busy. We were just lucky to come at the right time around 830pm just after Superbowl game was done. It was not busy at all.
already know that they have great service and plenty of options but evrything of oviously has to be of great flavor as well and since i cook at home always aprecciate the passion and hard work to keep the business thriving.. my secret to a good seafood recipe and u might want take note is the soy garlic butter spread.. marinate over night and bake at 350 for 30 min... open to any invites so check me on google profile and hangouts..
Large selection from happy hour menu that is valid every day until 7 pm. Excellent dim sum from the happy hour menu among the best quality and taste that we have ever had. Oysters were fresh and tasty but quite small. Sea food soup, crab roll and seafood salad were excellent. Our party of 5 ate very well for about $25 per person. Arrived a little before 6 pm and had a hour wait for a table. They are not taking reservations. Menu is an eclectic mix of Chinese, Japanese sushi, and Mexican tacos. Almost completely seafood menu but includes a few vegetable, chicken and beef dishes. Service was good. Located in a large shopping center so you can shop while you wait and they will text you when your table is ready. Prices are slightly above average but fair for the quality. Dim sum happy hour prices were $6 for 4 pieces. $20 for generous seafood salad. Will definitely go back.
Stopped by here for happy hour. The happy hour menu had a good selection of small plates and sushi. I opted for the sushi (spicy tuna roll) which did not disappoint. I hear the garlic noodles are fantastic, so I will be coming by again to try those. Overall, a good experience.
Happy hour always has great deals for casual dining. Food is delicious and flavorful. Dim sum is mediocre and fairly expensive compared to more authentic Chinese restaurants, which are higher quality. Service is almost always excellent. Would mainly recommend for happy hour specials.
The food is good, but the happy hour pricing is what makes it worth coming here. They have happy hour in during the typical after-work hours, but also late night. I give four stars instead of five because I don't think that the quality of the food is good enough when paying the full price for items. Things are all reasonably good, but not good enough to justify the prices they ask.
Totally packed on a Tuesday night. Loved the vibe and decor. I ordered oysters at the bar and was taken care of promptly. The oysters themselves were very good but pricey. The only thing was it took 25 minutes for 6 oysters to arrive. And I've been watching some dude Chuck some for 15min
Great oysters and shellfish, okay happy hour. Definitely will be back to try some entrées. A little pricey but it's definitely a good interior and very close to the freeway so it's very easy to meet someone going up or down the 5. Plenty of football screens at the bar and not crowded on Sunday with good service and no pressure to leave. Great bartenders and beer selection.
Some of the best seafood I've had in California. The oysters and carpaccio were fresh and flavorful. I didn't get any shell bits in my mouth (don't you hate when that happens?!). My only complaint is the service; it's incredibly slow and our waiter was visibly judging us for the amount of food we ordered.
This is my second time here for Sunday brunch. Other than what you pick your own, they serve unlimited champagne/mimosas, half lobster (per person), and made to order omelettes and lobster rolls. My favorite so far is their oster flan. Raw scallops are good, too. Raw osters are fresh but not the best. It is also amazing to me that they have rack of lamb (beside roasted beef) for brunch Y^_^Y. Baked salmon is overcooked, but I love the pineapple source pairing with it. While they charged a bit high ($53 each), but it worths for what they serve.
Service was okay our waiter did check in on us but all employees tbh didn't seem happy to work there not really any smiles from the employees not really a welcoming attitude tbh. My cousin also had her baby with her and no changing tables in the bathrooms and when we asked they didn't have any recommendations on where else we could go to change baby. As for food quality it was okay we had the Oysters ,salmon sushi roll , ahi sashimi, brussel sprouts, steak and pork dumplings. I would say the brussel sprouts and ahi sashimi was pretty good out of all the things we had. The cucumber martini was pretty good as well. Would I come back here for another dining experience or recommend this sushi bar to anyone? Probably not just not a memorable experience at all for me to say we should definitely come back here.
Most of the food was mediocre. From the garlic noodles to clam chowder to the sushi. The only thing that was good and frest was the oysters. Service was perfectin the beginning from bringing out water to taking our order and food came out promptly and fast. But since my party was big. There was alot of food on the table and when we had finished a dish we needed dishes cleared off the table but no was around to take our dish away. So we had alot of empty plates on our table. Overall this place was ok. I don't know what the rave out this place was about.
For some reason, this EMC seems a bit off compared to its other sisters/brothers throughout SoCal. We went for the late night happy hour where the prices are not too bad. Service though was on/off throughout the night; the oyster selection wasn't solid; and the taste overall seemed off. The restaurant is large though along with a nice-looking bar and parking isn't too bad. The happy hour is similar as well with late afternoon and late night varieties here that include drink and food specials. Best food item we got here was the salmon capriccio.
First time here for dinner on a Saturday, the place was packed and extremely loud, the loudest place I've ever eaten, couldn't hear anyone sitting next to me. The rooms' acoustics must just be all wrong, hard to enjoy a dinner and yell to someone 1 foot away! Due to that we rushed out and did not order/try as many dishes as we wanted, the seafood fried rice was amazing, but everything else was just ok. I recommend ONLY visiting at their very slowest hours. If I go back I would like to try many other menu items.
This was a very underwhelming experience. The restaurant was practically empty and a lot of staff hanging around. Our water was refilled twice. The food took almost an hour. The first food to hit the table was fries. The fries were bland and the dipping sauce was too much. The Brussels sprouts hit the table next. Way too much garlic was used on those. The main dish took another 40-50 minutes to arrive even there there were less than 10 parties eating at the restaurant. The food itself was very plain. I ordered oysters which were just okay. The soft shell crab dish that was recommended by the server was edible but not tasty. If the food was great, I could deal with stale service but that was not the case. I would not recommend this place.
It's alright. Raw oysters during happy hour are $1 each which might be a good price, and they were cleaned well. Dim sum is decent but on the pricy side, even during happy hour. Not really worth the cost.
Took my family there for a happy hour dinner. We ordered an array of popular dishes from groundfood to seafood. We were all disappointed with 50% of our food. Uni pasta was too soggy, and oysters had too much shell shards and was not as fresh. We used to frequent this establishment pre-pandemic days and the food was good. It went downhill. Giving it a 2 stars for good service.
Been hearing a lot about this place, and I was extremely excited to finally get a chance to try it. The service here is exceptional, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. However, I truly did not enjoy anything I ate here today. I had the garlic noodles with half a lobster, and it came out cold and the taste was nothing memorable. The Uni pasta was too creamy and tasted like mac & cheese. $23 for a mac & cheese is quite over price and I would never ever order again. The soft shell crab slider came out cold. There was too much sauce, which really hid the taste of the soft shell crab. And lastly I had the truffle fries with Aioli sauce. The fries were not crunchy or crispy, it was quite cold as well. Finally I was really excited for the dessert which was the yuzu creme brûlée. It was another fail. I did not like that they put so much whip cream over the crème brûlée. In addition the creme part was not creamy at all, it was quite watery. Nothing we had here was good.
Let me preface this review by saying this review is for the happy hour at EMC. The food here is pretty damn good - cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The oysters were surprisingly fresh and tasted delicious for the price I paid for them. The food is only reason I am giving EMC two stars instead of one. Back of house, excellent job! Keep up the great work. The service, however, did not reflect the excellent quality of the food. My friends and I went for happy hour and things were going fine until happy hour ended. We sat and waited over an hour for a bartender to come back and ask us for another drink - this never happened. The last time an item was charged to our receipt was at 6:54 PM. We closed out our check at 8:00 PM and took our business elsewhere. THIS IS NOT OK!!! Please have your front of house manager/bar manager train their employees better. If they are incapable of doing so, find someone who can. I will definitely not be coming back and will advise others to stay away. Unfortunate, because the food here is actually quite delicious.
A++ for presentation. Unfortunately the atmosphere and food was lacking. First off, the sushi... We ordered the salmon and the yellowtail sashimi which had an excellent presentation: nice chilled bowl, large cuts of sushi and generous portions of wasabi and ginger. Unfortunately both orders of sushi had a fishy smell which is never good for sushi. We managed to enjoy the salmon, but couldn't finish the yellowtail. Halfway through our meal the staff started cleaning tables nearby (thank you for cleaning!). However, they used a spray bottle that made made it difficult to enjoy our food due to the strong smell of the cleaner. (Maybe when cleaning next to diners, try a different method than spraying far from the table.) It sucks to even say anything, as I appreciate them cleaning! Also, they could have cleaned earlier. There was plenty of staff and those tables were empty when we got there. That being said... Our table was dirty when we got there and the seats had food on them... We sat on the bits of food and what appeared to be parsley as we didn't want to make a fuss. And a minor point... when we got our straws, one of them had old rice that had soy sauce on it stuck to the paper so I asked for a replacement - which the waiter happily obliged. I don't expect perfection, but the combination of the smelly fish and everything else was off-putting. Service was good: The staff didn't neglect us at all. It wasn't packed when we got there and there was plenty of staff attending the place. Maybe we just missed the dinner rush and they didn't catch up yet. Don't know, but our experience was lacking. I'm bummed because I REALLY wanted to like the place.
This is the first time I've been here not during happy hour. Uni pasta was delicious, oysters were good, truffle fries was alright. We ordered a lot more but forgot the names of the dishes. Uni toast and foie gras rolls were not my favorite. Uni toast had a layer of butter or some sort of rich layer that took away the taste of the uni. Foie gras rolls....was not what we expected the flavors was not balanced at all, thick rice a tiny little foie gras that you can't see drenched in a rich sweet unagi sauce... All you can taste is the sauce. I would most likely come back for happy hour only and maybe try their Sunday brunch one day.
Was told there was a 15 minute wait but the restaurant was noticeably empty. Waited around 30 minutes and watched other parties walk right in and get a table. After we finally had a table we ordered all three types of raw oysters and three of the four types of grilled oysters. We were told since the oysters were a little larger than normal, instead of getting three, we would get two. After about 15 minutes we were told they were out of grilled oysters. So we swapped for more raw. After ANOTHER 15 minutes they told us they were out of oysters except for a half a dozen. They were literally out of everything we ordered except garlic toast and brussel sprouts. We had to leave and get more food elsewhere. No fault of the waiter we had, he was very pleasant, but the organization of the establishment is awful.
Everything is really dirty. That already ruined the experience I had to wipe the table and chair with the paper towels from the bathroom. Table next to us is filthy. I'm not sure what they are thinking. Its not even that busy. We came here because the one by out house in Arcadia is closed down and really wanted something familiar. I would say give this a hard skip until they can turn their act around
I was disappointed when I dine there at the first time. Maybe I went there after happy hour that most people go for cheaper seafood plates. I ordered a whole lobster which look like 4-5 inches long but it cost ($39) more than it worth and the taste was OK. We didn’t ordered oysters which I think that cost more if you go there for dinner after happy hour. We also ordered other dishes which are expensive that not worthy. I won’t go back and I found my plate and utensils weren’t clean which is #1 requirement for restaurant!!! This restaurant won’t last long.
Most mediocre food I’ve ever tasted. I called the restaurant to place a takeout order and they said they ran out of uni for the uni pasta. The employee also put me on hold many times throughout the call They said they still have the uni-pasta without the uni and the flavor would still be there. I ordered that and the soft shell crab rolls. The roll was incredibly basic and really had nothing special about it. Crab wasn’t even crunchy. I literally took the crab out of the sushi and ate it by itself because of how plain the roll was. Pasta was overcooked and not al dente. Total came to be about 45 dollars. Not worth it! This awful “seafood bar” replaced elephant bar. I feel like this restaurant is trying to be some hip cool Asian-fusion seafood restaurant, but instead they’re just selling overpriced basic trendy food. And why the actual heck are they selling dimsum, lobster rolls, and sushi.... it’s funny how hard they try.
