Soooo delicious and filling. The owners were so nice and the prices were an amazing deal for all we got!! Order the torta with chicken and cheese or the egg cheese and chorizo and you’ll be in for a great time! If you’re looking for an authentic meal for prices locals are willing to pay.

If you want the ultimate local experience this is the place! Margarite and Ricardo will give you personal service and the most delicious entrees. We all had the Alambre Rojo, best on the island prepared with charcoal roasted pastor! Don't be afraid to try any of the little restaurants in LaGloria. They aren't fancy but everything is fresh, made to order and served with hospitality and always a smile. Thank you Taqueria Mafer for a great experience!

Now this is the real deal! 10/10 pastor tacos, 9/10 for the arrachera. Served with a delicious array of salsas. Far better and cheaper than any of the more touristy places on the island that claim to be "the best". Ladies at the counter are extremely friendly and speak great english. Absolutely can't miss spot! Will be back to try the rest of the menu!

First time in Isla and first time at this restaurant. We were parked outside not sure where we were gonna go for dinner and the owner came out. She greeted us and handed us menus to look through. We decided this was the place for us. Service was 10/10. Super friendly, patient since we really don’t speak any Spanish, and very helpful with the menu. Food was 15/10 they did an amazing job with the food, some of the best I have had while in Isla. Always made sure we had a new drink, chips were refilled, and that we were doing okay. Absolutely 100% recommend for ANYONE!

Greatest Beria tacos I’ve ever I’ve ever had and they had a toilet seat 10/10

This is by far the best taco place on the island. Forget pastor, go for the beef rib tacos with cheese for the most flavorful thing you've had! It's better to eat there with lots of cilantro/onions, and taste test the salsas, but if you take it to go, don't leave without a plastic baggie of salsa verde. This is Def more of a late afternoon to late night spot. But don't you dare leave Isla without eating here.

Amazing food and great atmosphere!

We found this wonderful little family owned establishment thanks to Jose and the Cultura Cruisers Food Tours. We cannot say enough about how incredible the food is, and how warm, friendly, and hospitable the owners are. They welcomed us with warm smiles and open arms, and made us feel like we were part of their family. We tried tacos el pastor, nachos Mafer, alambres fortachon, and the consume de birria (soooo good!!!). They offered tips on spices and flavor combinations to enhance the flavors of the dishes(adding lime, cilantro, and onions). We will definitely be making return visits!!!

Listen, this is one of those places where you walk in and you might not be sure at first, but hands down these will be the BEST tacos you will ever have in your life. The quesabirria tacos are a must order, and you will have to go back multiple times to satisfy your craving for more.

Trafiliśmy, bo chcieliśmy tam się dostać i sprawdzić oceny. To była jedna z lepszych gastronomicznych decyzji jakie podjęliśmy podczas pobytu w Meksyku. Najlepsze guacamole EVER ! Such a great find! We had seen good reviews and as we drove past decided to stop by! It was about 11am and the lovely people that run the place advised they had some new breakfast options and it was only the second day of this menu. There were only two options- one being a Mexican option - Chilaquiles so we ordered that and it was amazing! Will have to go back and try the tacos and tortas!

A true hidden gem, easily the best tacos I’ve ever had (and we live in San Diego). The white al pastor is unique and incredibly delicious. The owners Ricardo and Margarita are wonderful hosts and their family is delightful. We felt lucky to have found this place and ate here every day we were on the island. Can’t wait to come back!

If you’re anywhere near La Gloria in Isla Mujeres, do yourself a favor and stop by Taqueria Mafer. We had both the red and white pastor tacos, and it was an absolute flavor bomb. Fresh tortillas, generous portions, and that vibe you hope for when you think “I want the real deal.” Paired with a cold and fresh jamaica water, which was refreshing, not overly sweet, and exactly what you want in the Caribbean heat. Simple setup, authentic energy, and food that genuinely makes you smile. Would 100% go back.

Las quesadillas, las gringas y especialmente el pastor son los mejores que hemos probado en la isla — perfectamente sazonados, jugosos y con un sabor auténtico increíble. Variedad de comida sabrosa, probamos tacos de asada, Alambre MAFER, las quesadillas de asada, todo muy rico. Además en el mismo local los sábados y domingos en la mañana venden cochinita pibil una verdadera delicia la mejor que probamos de lejos, carne que se deshace con una cocción de más de catorce horas. La torta de cochinita pibil excepcional. Volveremos siempre!

Le cogimos (no somos mexicanos) cariño desde la primera vez que llegamos. La atención de los dueños fue agradable y muy sociable, creo que estando en la isla hay que visitarla. Me quede con ganas de probar postres, siempre acababa la noche hasta arriba de tacos u otros platillos.

I've eaten tacos here 3 times in the past two days. They are so good. SO good. And the folks who run this place are the nicest people ever. We had birria con queso, asada con queso, and pastor (rojo sy blanco) con queso, and they were all excellent. Always get con queso! For me, the superstar of the experience was the sweet and slightly spicy tamarind sauce, and the cream, which combine with the taco fillings to make a truly incredible flavor. I wish I had another week on the island in order to try everything on the menu here!

We travelled from Canada and were recommended by a local to try Taqueria Mafer, as we were searching for an authentic experience. Taqueria Mafer was hands down the best experience we could’ve asked for. We were welcomed by Ricardo and Margarita and felt instantly at home. Even some of the locals eating in the restaurant kindly gave up a section of their table so we could sit down. We ordered a mixture of tacos with flour tortillas and they were absolutely delicious, especially paired with the homemade salsas provided. The guacamole, (the best I’ve ever had) was also made fresh to order as well as the tacos. We returned to the island the next day specifically for this restaurant and again, it was excellent. We had the quesabirria and the consumé paired with the fresh toppings and salsas were world class. Coming from Toronto and having some great authentic tacos, this place is hands-down the best we’ve had. It is clear that this restaurant is run with genuine love and care, and I would recommend it to anyone. Do not hesitate to eat here, just be mindful of their well-deserved afternoon ‘siesta’. :)

The food is good. We had tacos and guacamole, and everything tasted great. The prices are bit higher though. The hardworking lady runs the stall all by herself like a one woman army. It would be even better if she had some help, especially with washing dishes, as she is managing everything on her own and constantly moving around.
