I read somewhere that you need to stop here when on Isla Mujeres. Everyone was right! Great fish tacos and the pain killer drinks were delicious! Lots of room for parking golf carts too. Don’t miss out on stopping here.

An iconic “must stop”. Classic Dive Bar vibe. Margaritas are STRONG. Had the Tachos. Basically a big plate of American nachos. Perfect item for 2-4 people to munch on. The onion rings looked really good. They have an area to play Cornhole and another area with beach loungers next to the water.

One of the best meals of the trip. Was really surprised at how good everything was. Fajitas out of this world. Place seems like a local dive bar but a cool view and vibe. Very casual and even without AC it was tolerable. Def go!!

It is a great place for dinner and to watch the sunset. The beer was fine, the attitude of the waiter was great, the goor was great, there is a small port just in front of the restaurant, so you can take great photos of the sunset, we do recommend this place. The music is like you are in the United States, but meanwhile, there are coming a lot of tourists from there, so it makes sense. Great job guys, keep doing your business in the same way!

Soggy Peso is a MUST! The food is more than delicious. We loved the nachos and crispy tacos. The margaritas are literally the best in the world. Loved the ambiance, pool, leaving our hat to hang, and playing Jenga and Corn Hole. We visited FIVE times and were never disappointed. Give some love to Beans & Queso - resident pups. Can’t wait to go back!

We stop by for food, drinks and dip in the pool after the beach. The Friday crispy taco 🌮 and Mexican pizza 🍕 was good. Definitely we will be back when we are back to the island 🏝️.

Great drinks, cool bar. Super nice owners. Folks love the margaritas, but don’t have more than two! Those puppies are strong. They use nice tequila, not the cheap stuff. Also, and bear with me here…if you’re an American looking for…crunchy tacos (for some weird reason while in Mexico where you can get handmade real ones), they have them. So…if you’re that guy, this is your place too 😂 (note, I didn’t eat the crunchy tacos. I just saw them when walking by the kitchen.)

Best Margarita on the island, hands down. Not too sweet, strong, and just PERFECTO! You only need 2 and you'll be feeling great. haha. If you drink 3.... just don't say I didn't warn you! haha.

Had to go here since we just went to the one in the British Virgin Islands, actually called the soggy dollar. We saw this name and laughed, but had to do it really cool. I mean, you can tell this place has some history as well, really cool ticky bar vibe, just a place you can hang out in all day and drink, they have steps down to the beach, these Little Beach chairs and everything so you can make it to the water really easily. Did not stay in any room. So I can't comment on that. The service was excellent. Just a note; You can pass this thing pretty easily when you come in and you park your Golf car. It's kind of alleyway, it's kind of not really obvious you gotta walk up to get to this bar, lots of fun. 👍

I didn't stay at the rooms I only went to the bar so I cannot rate the accommodations. My husband and I arrived and the bar was packed and we were greeted within seconds and were accommodated with seats at the bar. I ordered their margarita and it was a banger!!! Two sips in I knew it was fiya 🔥. They had a great bar vibe and my husband and I watched the sunset so it was even a bit romantic (but I had 3 margaritas by that time). This is not a location to expect authentic Mexican cuisine or warm service. However the food and the service are appropriate for the type of establishment. It was bar food and attentive service. We almost did not give because of some of the negative reviews we read but I'm glad we went to check it out for ourselves.

We did not stay at the so I get peso, but met friends there for appetizer and drinks. Everything was delicious, but be careful of the margaritas! They are very strong! It is such a happy atmosphere and everyone is very friendly!

We love this place for Tuesday Fajitas! The pain killer is great with a little crumbly topping and better than the similar pina colada. Skip their daiquiri as it’s lime, not strawberry. We’ve never stayed at the hotel, always our first stop upon arriving at Isla!

Tuesday night is fajita night....we'll worth it. And the fish tacos were fabulous. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend it.

What a fun times you can have! Excellent Margarita and the wings were large and delicious!! We went on a rainy afternoon and the crowd was upbeat and just having a grand time. Everyone was friendly and the staff was most accomodating. A don't miss spot.

I have not stayed in the rooms yet, I've heard the rooms are very large, well designed and comfortable. There is The Soggy Peso Bar downstairs, I believe when you rent the room you get a couple of free drinks, maybe two a day. The bar is great! A quaint off the beaten path and unpretensious little Palapa Bar with stairs down to the Laguna. The drinks are fantastic and the service is also top notch. They have a great kitchen with great food, tacos, nachos etc. not bar food! This is a cool place to hang out with very nice people. It's the down the alley place where you'll meet a famous author, maybe it's you! There's a nice dipping pool to cool off in. The Soggy Peso is that cool neighborhood bar that you don't wanna leave, ambiance that you read about. Ok I was warned to only have one margarita, but did I listen. Heck no. They were not the best on the island but they were good. What was even better was the fun people and bartenders. Definitely would go back just for the atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place to go for a fun afternoon and some day drinking!

Stayed on Isla for a week and a half a few years back and found this place one of our last days. Just had a couple drinks and they were great. We're staying at the Planet Hollywood resort this February and plan to take a day trip to Isla. Rent a golf cart and cruise the island. We will definitely plan to make a stop here again.

We had a great stop at Soggy Peso!!! The food and drinks were delicious- highly recommend the shrimp ceviche a the Baja tacos! Service was outstanding as well- we had to rush out to catch a ferry otherwise we would have stayed and enjoyed the ambiance! I didn’t realize before walking all the way there that it is 18+- totally my oversight, but seeing my hungry and hot kids they were super kind and accommodated them without hesitation. 10/10 spot!

This place is worth the stop! The bean dip was crazy good! You just can’t beat the atmosphere and the service was top notch! We loved seeing all the college baseball caps on the ceiling. It’s a super fun vibe and we will be going back again.

Great location on the water. Decent price beers, but do not do shots. 6 shots was $75, seems a bit ridiculous for mexican tequila.

My husband and I stopped here while on our tour of the island. It's a decent, tucked away, chill spot. Get the "Famous Margarita" you won't be disappointed!

Quirky little bar along the Lagoon. Fun atmosphere. Not the best Margaittas but very strong. Stop at two. :) Had burger and fries which were typical bar grade. Good not great. We were there at lunch but I would love to go back later in the day as I feel it would be jumping...

Bar is pretty cool and great location on the water. Drinks are poured heavy, but get here before the sun sets as the mosquitos come out and we got smoked.

1st time here. Met some great people and had some interesting conversations. I couldn't seem to get another drink because the bartender lacked attentiveness. I asked another patron what her name is. After calling her by name, she looked at me with a straight face, no smile. Didn't acknowledge me. Eventually I flagged a male waiter down and he told her what I wanted. She's lucky I gave her 100 pesos on a 1500 peso bill! She could have had 20% or more. Not too bright!

Our last stop of the day was to check out the soggy peso bar. Super cute hole in the wall with a great view of the ocean. The atmosphere was pretty cool! Loved all the hats and cup holders on the wall and ceiling signed by guests. The beers are by the can, and a bit pricy. The service is pretty bad. We sat at the bar and it was pretty slow, almost impossible to get the bartender’s attention. I would have to walk to the other side of the bar and wave her down to get another drink. She was friendly though! Just doesn’t pay attention to the customers.

La margarita de la casa, preparada en un contenedor enorme, es terrible, seguramente preparada con alcohol muy barato. Te sirven copas sin avisarte que cierran en 15minutos.

Fast and friendly service. Lobster tacos were not good - mouthful of shells with everything other bite. Atmosphere was pretty good except for a nearby table where a couple of ‘people’ seemed to think it was appropriate to take their shirts off in a restaurant.

Fun little place to check out, we had some drinks here and they allowed children so we sat on the lower section closer to the water. The drinks were good and the kids like the lizards walking around and the spider joke. Played Corn Hole for a bit and continued on our tour.

I HATE to give this less than it deserves…. But this has got to be the WHITEST bar on the whole island. The staff is wonderful and Nestor the waiter is amazing. If you’re a retiree looking for food that isn’t spicy, this is your spot. The view is spectacular and but do not come here for local flavor… but if you want to feel like you’re In Florida, this is your spot!!

Atmosphere was amazing the food and drinks were not. The decor and vibe were great but that's where the compliments end. The mojito was all soda/mint and the Paloma was just grapefruit soda. We ordered the Saturday special of lobster tacos which looked nothing like a previous review. They were cold with a light grey batter and an utter disappointment. Save yourself a trip. There are much better places to eat/drink on the island.

Locals love this place because they get good service and prices. If you are a tourist… beware. We love the local dive scene, but rude service is never acceptable. The lady behind the bar tonight would not even look at us. We spent $200 the day before and $80 today. You would think they would be appreciative. We were kind and respectful. Hit the Gecko, the Joint anywhere but this trap. Not worth the stress.

Rude staff, we had issues even getting drinks, lady behind the bar ignored us…. It wasn’t even busy. We couldn’t even get a bill for the drinks we finally did get. So we left money, then got chased down for being a dollar short. They wouldn’t give us attention to get us a bill! Definitely, put a sour twist on the day! They need to clean staff out - especially the very rude lady bartender! She was so mean to us. We always support American businesses when over seas…. I can’t support a business that treated us like this. I emailed and got a response from the owner (I assume), she was receptive… but something needs to be done with staff. The owner invited us back for “drinks on them”…. It was a decent offer, but hard when so many people do day trips to the island (as we were doing.) We went to Kin Ha after, spent our money…. They treated us like royalty.

Pongo una estrella porque el sitio es preciosisisimo! Eso no se puede negar! Pero la atención lamentable! Parecía que les molestará que estuviéramos ahí. Pedimos dos cosas y cuando nos las traen era lo mismo pero montado de diferente manera, el camarero ni se dignó a explicarnos lo que era. No tienen carta en español solo en inglés, sitio para guiris total.

Es muy difícil poder disfrutar las margaritas ya que estan demasiado fuertes muchas personas dicen ser las mejores en isla , Pero están muy lejos de serlo , si tu plan es emborracharte muy rápido y no gastar mucho dinero definitivamente este es el lugar!
