Great spot for traditional German meal & beer. Seemed like a decent wine menu too. A bit pricey, but great food, service, & atmosphere. Would recommend reservations for inside seating during cooler times of the year. They had a bunch of outdoor seating, but was not being utilized because of the cool weather; in warmer weather walk-ins likely would be better received.

Stopped by for the last night of the Christmas Market. While the wait was not bad, I recommend making a reservation. The atmosphere was cozy! We loved the biergarten with the handicraft vendors and food. The mulled wine was AMAZING!!! Hands down on the sauerkraut! The best I have had since my Great Grandma’s! I cannot wait to bring my parents in July, they will love it!

My fiancé and I headed here for a light lunch. We ordered the all cheese charcuterie board and the all meat charcuterie board and picked off each others’ plates. The boards came quickly and were not only delicious, but beautiful as well! The presentation really showed how much the staff takes pride in their work. I also want to commend our server Valerie for her kindness today! I am NOT a beer drinker— I actually quite hate it! Upon letting her know this, she was instantly able to recommend a beer that would suit my tastes. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the one she suggested, I actually finished it! She also helped my fiancé find a new beer he loved as well. Valerie was incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and very attentive to us. We’ll be back for sure!

This is a Hidden Gem! You will be surprised once you walk in, Place looks super nice and cozy. Great atmosphere and friendly bartenders. I absolutely loved their ‘Classic Wienerschnitzel’, veal cutlet fried in clarified butter, with Bavarian potato salad and fresh cucumber salad. Food comes in big portions, fresh and tasty. They also have a great selection of draft beer.

Buchner’s Bierhalle is such a hidden gem! Tucked away behind the Smoke Shop, it truly feels like you’ve stepped straight into Europe. The German ambiance is spot-on — cozy, charming, and filled with lots of outdoor bench seating perfect for hanging out with friends. The beer selection is fantastic, and the food is even better. You must try the currywurst and the jägerschnitzel — both absolutely delicious and incredibly authentic.

An ad crossed my husband's FB news feed and told him we needed to go here, so we did. This was my birthday surprise and the food took me back to when I was living in Nuremberg growing up. Everything thing was delicious. I had the Weiner Schnitzel and my husband had the Weisen Hendl. I also had the Weihenstephaner Vitus on draft (and a bottle to go!) Absolutely delicious!

We stopped in for dinner and got seated at the bar while we waited in hopes of getting a drink while we waited for a table. They seemed to have forgot about us and then we ended up getting sat at the bar so it was a bit weird since we were expecting a table but overall the food and wine were delicious! They had a DJ that night as well so the music was on point! We also found they have seating outside in the back of the building- so if the weather had been nicer, could be a nice spot to eat and hang out with friends.

Make. A. Reservation. Regardless of how many people in your party, MAKE A RESERVATION. We got put on a the waitlist, 45 min to 60 min, but we were still able to sit at the bar, we got our drinks... Thankfully we were able to put in the food order as soon as the kitchen opened... so we ate at the bar.. we got dessert and then the text came in for our table. It is LOUD, so if you are hard of hearing... it might be difficult. We, my husband and I were both stationed in Germany, for more than a decade and it felt like home. We came on a Wednesday, so be advised that there is no parking right in front of the restaurant. There is a farmers market on the street!! We parked down the street a ways.

This is a legitimate slice of Bavaria, right in Jax. As a lover of Oktoberfest in Munich, I came here to feel like I was back on vacation and I was not disappointed. The bier selection is amazing, both on tap and in the bottle. All the Munich favorites are available. And the food is absolutely authentic German. The bratwurst, potato salad, kraut, schnitzel, mushroom gravy.... all delicious. The biergarten outside makes you feel like you're in Germany. Don't miss this place. It's 5 stars on all levels.

We had so much fun at Oktoberfest! The food was delicious and the beer was flowing! Bring extra patience and enjoy the event. It's their busiest time of the year. Prost!

Absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. We've lived in the Jax area for about 6yrs and we've been craving authentic German cuisine. Thankfully, we recently discovered this gem from some friends and talk about traditional German food and drinks 🥰 Definitely adding this to our must go to restaurants. Food and service were top notch.

Our family recently visited on a Sunday afternoon and we were not disappointed. I have been to Germany many times and Buchners is actually better than most of them. A fantastic beer selection along with a large and authentic menu was very impressive. Everything was excellent, but what made it exceptional was our server/bartender Valerie. Although it was busy, she provided outstanding service with a fantastic attitude and a lovely smile. Kudos to you, Valerie. This place is definitely on the "do not miss" list.

We didn't head outside to the biergarten but got a reservation for inside. The space is cozy with a bar and a few tables along the wall. So a reservation is recommended. The food, outstanding. It has been awhile since we have a German Food, and this place tops them all. For starters we got a pretzel, because YUM and some backes with applesauce. SO GOOD! For dinner, I got the currywurst with potato salad and sauerkraut, and hubby got the Reuben with backes. We ended our meal with the Black Forest Tort and coffee. Everything was met with yummy noises while we ate. We hope to make this a regular spot now that we know it's there.

Honest review: Service was pretty good for the most part. Food was amazing!!! Our group got everything on the menu and I’m gonna say everything I ate was great. I don’t think the most expensive charcuterie board was worth it, but we enjoyed it for the most part. Just isn’t enough for the price. Don’t be scared about it saying you have to go thru the vap shop. It’s not bad. It’s the only vap shop that doesn’t smell like a one. Prices are high, but my family really enjoyed it. Would I come back, ohh yeah. If you like honest reviews hit that like or follow button.

We visited the bar and really enjoyed everything — great atmosphere and service. The German beer was excellent: fresh, authentic, and definitely worth trying! The only disappointment was the “Wiener Schnitzel.” Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it — it didn’t taste like schnitzel at all. It was just a fried piece of meat in a thick batter, lacking the flavor and texture you’d expect from a proper schnitzel. Other than that, it’s a great place and we’ll definitely come back — just not for the schnitzel 😊

A great place with real German food and beverages, we really enjoyed ourselves. Service was a little bit slow but maybe because they were busy. Overall a great place and we will be back!

Fun atmosphere. They have achieved a great environment for music and food. The wurst offerings seemed their staple and were great. The Corned beef was excellent. The goulash was meh. Bland and runny with no roll. The wurst sandwiches are on rolls, but not proper German rolls. The cheese tray starter was good. The Ratler was refreshing. A great local hangout in south JAX. #German #wurst #brunch #neighborhood #beer #family #JAX

This place was really cool! We went for the german Christmas pop up. What fun. It was crowded but rightfully so. If your looking for a dose of German Heritage then here it is. We didn't actually get to eat dinner so we would like to go back and properly review the food. None the less it had a super fun atmosphere.

The atmosphere was German speakeasy styling. Many German beers on tap served in half and full liters. The menu is limited but good. The outdoor beer garden was a fun venue to mix and mingle with friends. Down side is our group had to wait a while for service and our bill at checkout.

We ordered four different dishes. One was absolutely amazing—the sauce on that dish was fantastic. Unfortunately, the schnitzel and Jäger schnitzel were mediocre to just okay and didn’t feel authentic. The meat wasn’t properly pounded thin, and the Jäger sauce was light and fairly generic, lacking depth or character. The potatoes had a very strong, distinctive flavor—personally, I would have toned that down by about 50%. Instead of thinking, “That’s interesting, what is that?” after a bite, it was more like, “Wow, that’s a lot,” to the point where I wasn’t sure I wanted a second bite. The sauerkraut was very similar in that respect, with an equally strong, overpowering flavor. Both would have been much better if the intensity had been dialed back by about half. On the positive side, the pretzel with beer cheese was absolutely fantastic, and the brats were also excellent—well prepared and full of flavor. Those were definite standouts. The environment, however, was absolutely fantastic—quaint, warm, and inviting, and a really nice place to sit and enjoy a meal. Overall, I’d stick to the brats and pretzels here. I’m not sure I’d spend another $40 on an entrée. Out of three entrées we tried, only one was truly great—and it also happened to be the cheapest.

My husband and I discovered this place months ago and had a wonderful first time experience so when we came back to Jacksonville from Ocala this weekend we knew that we wanted to take our friends here. When we arrived the hostess told us that the menu was limited until 8:30pm which was when there would be the full menu. We decided to just hang out with our group and have drinks and small bites outside until 8:30pm came around. Our first server was great. she was nice, attentive, and extremely friendly. My husband ran into our server and she mentioned that she was leaving. He asked her to close us out so that she could get the tips that she worked for from our group but she kindly declined and said that it was okay because the employee split tips and that she had already clocked out. When our table opened up for inside and the full dinner menu we were super excited to eat. We had been hanging out and waiting 3 hours. When the female bartender tried to move us from outside to inside my friends mentioned that she was extremely rude and seemed extremely impatient. Unfortunately her attitude didn’t change much as we came inside and got settled at our table. She didn’t ask if we would like anything to drink other than water, she seemed extremely impatient so impatient that when I asked for a sample of wine my husband was talking about buying a bottle of the sweet wine that I asked to try but when I said I liked it we didn’t have an opportunity to decide on the bottle because the glass was poured very quickly instead, making us feel incredibly rushed throughout our whole experience, when we were done eating we were not given the opportunity to order a dessert because we were met with our checks instead which sucked because my husband and I wanted to order a black forrest cake to go…. the bartender seemed extremely friendly and attentive to her customers at the bar but with us it seemed like she couldn’t wait for us to leave. Unfortunately the way she handled us made us feel like she was being rude, impatient and lacked customer service skills….

We waited for our table and reservation for 3 hours because we didn't make one in advance which is on us but when one of our party members ask for water we got a snarky and mean response from on of the bartenders at our table about only getting water which we all found pretty rude. We also got the pretzel and they served it with a fairly small cup of cheese with it and when the cheese ran out we were like who wants to eat a pretzel plain It was decent but I wouldn't go again
