This is one of my top 3 restaurants as of this posting. This place feels so good. The environment they are going for, I feel they nailed it. It's like openness, natural, modern, healthy, and clean as wrapped up in one. The staff were all super friendly. The silverware is Varick, the napkins are thick fiber, their bathrooms are stocked and clean! You can tell a lot about a place on house clean the staffs shoes & finger nails and bathroom are. The food was so scrumpditiliumptious! (DANE COOK). Their Brussels were coated in a savory sauce that I had to scoop up the crush of their sour dough pizza that was also delicious followed by their salmon which was also fantastic which was eventually followed up the their dark chocolate cake which was ALSO FANTASTIC! I bought more that I could eat. It's okay. I will later at home. True Food found really great combinations with the sauce-to-medium pairings. The meat, vegetables and desserts. They have been here since 2018 and for good reason. Amanda was our waitress. She was a bundle of pleasantries. She was super informative, helpful in explaining what foods would fit out cravings. Always with a smile. Keep our drinks refreshed. I personal was a fan of her shirt. On the back it read "Don't kale my vibe!" The water was fresh, the seating was spacious. The decor was natural and the bar was stocked and broad. I'm making this place a saved Default spot on my Open Table app.
The American burger is GREAT! Flavorful, juicy and tender. The spinach and mushroom pizza was delicious too! The caramelized onions really made it extra flavorful. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options along with meat dishes. Great options for everyone. Easy to tell they use fresh ingredients.
Walker was awesome! Super friendly, attentive, and made my experience at True Food Kitchen at the Town Center even better. He checked in at all the right times and had great energy. Was super kind. Definitely ask for Walker! I loved loved loved the jambalaya pasta ! Thank you for such a great suggestion.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. There is a large selection of vegan entrees as well as deserts. We really enjoyed the Terriyaki Bowl and the Guacamole appetizer. The service was excellent. My iced tea was refilled often. This was a great way to start out our visit to Jacksonville! ---We returned for lunch two days later. We both had the plant based double cheeseburger. It was great!
Ok friends… this place is an absolute thumbs up👍🏽. Was visiting with family for the day and wanted to try a new restaurant pref that catered to vegetarians, and had the vibes. Found True Foods Kitchen… so checked their menu.., and was very excited to try! Arrived , got seated and within a short time Dimitri our server introduced himself and asked few questions and we advised on our dietary restrictions and what would he suggest. He was v knowledgeable and we ordered based on some his recommendations and some we wanted to just try out. Loved the house salad that had the best dressing! Everything was fresh and crunchy but more importantly balanced that nothing was powerfully seasoned! Also the cauliflower was yummy. The airfried fries with the 3 dipping sauces that we were able to choose too were delicious! BTW…. The sourdough pizza was was amazing but the dessert the passion fruit tart is a must😋. Overall the Name True Food Kitchen speaks for itself! 5stars plus😍
All around enjoyable, and professional setting. Bartender, Miss Abby, made the overall experience AMAZING. What fun! Even had Chef come out and enjoy the atmosphere with us. LOVED IT.
Had a great experience here. The service was amazing and the atmosphere was casual and relaxing. The 3 course Thanksgiving dinner was excellent.
We had a wonderful short experience as we got our take out order. The little time we spent at the bar ordering & waiting on our food, I realized I liked the atmosphere, light chatter with enough light so you can see your food but it was still daylight when we visited. The service was great considering most places are stretched thin with minimal staff on New Year’s day. The food was great! I love my food hot & well done so reheated take-out is perfect for me. I hope to try this restaurant again as a eat-in visit.
I came in atrociously hungover hoping to fuel my body with good ingredients, and that’s exactly what I got. My server was the sweetest person in the whole entire world and recommended this delicious pesto lasagne and a hangover drink(also absolutely delicious). Love yall, 10/10 I’ll be back
We just went this evening for dinner. I. e. 12 FEB 2025. It wasn't busy since it is a working day today , Wednesday and about 8:00 PM, a little late. This is a famous restaurant for its unique food and specialty dishes. Food quality is pretty good. Food dishes are served with large quantities of food. They have a unique huge bar on the left of the entrance door. We took lots of pictures of their menu, drinks, dishes, and restaurant itself; which I am posting below so you get the most detailed information and glimpse of offerings and prices on their menu. We had ordered alcoholic drinks, Appetizers, and a main course. I am also attaching the restaurant bill /check, so you get ideas of item prices. We enjoyed it, we go sometime here. This is in the St. John's Town center of Jacksonville, FL, which is a huge , outdoor mall. Enjoy this restaurant 's review, if you are interested.
True Food Kitchen is an expansive space with an open seating plan. The decor and staff have a modern, hip vibe.
My first experience at True Food was nothing short of amazing! Great place to dine if you need something filling and tasty without wanting to feel sluggish. This was our after Church stop so I ordered brunch. Got the Ranchers Hash and the blueberry pancakes (highly recommend) also had the Pink Dragonfruit Lemonade and the Hangover RX from the drink selection and they did not disappoint. Very inviting environment, the staff was friendly. Recommended making a stop next time you’re in Town Center!
This Jacksonville, Florida restaurant is a must visit. The service was nice . It's a very clean and well kept establishment. The food is a 9.5 out of 10 especially if you like vegan food. Just know it's a wait on your food. It's not a problem if you're on a date or have time to just enjoy one another. About 30 minute wait on our food. But well worth the wait. Waitress was very welcoming and friendly. I promise you won't be disappointed....
Amazing food here! Also amazing atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant. I ordered the butternut squash vegan pizza and it was well worth it! Highly recommend it. The waitress Milana was also very attentive and always checking up on me. Highly recommend this restaurant to vegans and non vegans.
The food is very fresh and has quality ingredients. The restaurant is family and vegan friendly. We started off with the herb Hummus which was very different than what we are used but it was amazing. The butternut squash soup was made well and I enjoyed that as well. We also ordered the Korean noodle bowl, it had a lot going on in it and it was a bit salty for my taste but it definitely was magical haha. My little sister enjoyed it. We also ordered the burrito bowl and the kale salad.
I love coming here for the vegan and vegetarian options. Wade was our server tonight and he was super kind.
Went for a HOA meeting. Awesome experience and great tasting food. I went vegan and taste was impeccable
Our waitress was very positive and demonstrated excellent knowledge of the menu. She, I believe it was Marianne, showed exceptional customer service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to try a healthy meal; vegetarian and carnivores alike.. Enjoy! Also, if you opt for an adult beverage, I recommend trying the Peach and Bourbon. It was amazing!
Would give this over 5-stars if I could. We have been here a few times now and the service and food consistently leaves us beyond satisfied; food is fresh, tasty and options for vegan and gluten-free people like me are plentiful. If you’re a vegan looking for more than an impossible burger, fries or a salad offered, this is your place! (I do have to add that my non vegan 23 yr old raved about her food as well when we took her here in December.) Must save room for dessert as the menu has several vegan and gluten-free options available for those who’d like to indulge! A rarity to find! We tried the peanut butter, chocolate tart, and warm cookie with vegan ice cream which were both delicious. Server, Chris makes the experience even more pleasant. Worth asking for him if he is there! (I forgot to take pics of the food as I was enjoying the moment of eating far too much).🤩
Excellent scratch kitchen food that’s healthy. Gluten free options galore. I had the pot roast sandwich was excellent. Wife had the steak which was excellent. Celiac daughter had the chicken strips which literally brought a tear to her eye as she can rarely find good GF food. Tomato soup was also excellent. Topped it all off with the blueberry crumble sundae ice cream dessert, again GF. Will 100% be back. Service was extraordinary as well. Ask for Dimitri!
I was blown away how lovely the inside is!! I was looking for somewhere healthy and filling to eat, and this place exceeded all expectations. All menu it's were conveniently labeled so I knew which ones were vegan. Ordered both the Edamame Guacamole and the Charred Cauliflower to start. The guac was OK, but the Cauliflower was so saucy and flavorful!! The ancient grains bowl was delicious, just needed some more sauce. And the strawberry mojito I had was the perfect palate cleanser!! Beautiful decor, great service, definitely going back.
True food kitchen is a great and healthy spot in the St. John’s town center. The pizza was fantastic. Highly recommend. Staff was friendly. Will definitely be going back. Only comment is that it’s a bit pricey for some of their drink options for what it is.
First time here and we both loved our meals. I had the turkey burger, butternut squash soup and juice; other half had the Asian chicken salad. A bit noisy during busy brunch time and a bit pricey. I will definitely return!
This was my first time at a True Food Kitchen location and Everything was 10/10! Walker our server was amazing! We tried both of the vegan pizzas (and I don’t even like mushrooms) but I loved them both. The seasonal one with squash and Carmel onions was my favorite though. Those Brussels sprouts were absolutely mind blowing. The texture was just how I like them and the flavor was too tear!! Seasoned to perfection. I also had desert the Vegan chocolate chip cookie with a piece of vegan vanilla ice cream and although it was coconut based it was so good as well.
I had an outstanding experience at True Food Kitchen, thanks in large part to Chelsi, who was working the bar during my visit. From the moment I sat down, she made me feel welcome with her warm energy and genuine attentiveness. Chelsi was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations tailored to what I was in the mood for. She checked in at the perfect intervals—always available when I needed something but never intrusive. My drink came out quickly, perfectly balanced, and exactly as she described. What really stood out was her professionalism paired with a fun, friendly personality. She created an atmosphere that made the meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. It’s rare to find service that feels both efficient and personal, but Chelsi delivered that effortlessly. If you’re planning a visit to True Food Kitchen, I highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar. Chelsi will take great care of you. I’ll definitely be back!
I had such a great experience thanks to the hostess, Mila. She was so welcoming from the moment I walked in, very attentive, and made sure everything went smoothly. She’s caring and thoughtful, checking in and paying attention to details that really made a difference. You can tell she genuinely cares about guests, and it made the whole visit so much more enjoyable. Thank you, Mila! Ontop of that the food was amazing! Very accommodating for my husband’s allergies! Will be coming back soon !
I travel from time to time for work, and TFK is pinned as a go-to. Abbey, part of the staff, is always so pleasant and kind! Girl deserves a raise. Best server there IMO. Food is delicious, and the quality is unmatched! Definitely recommend. Cheers.
this was my first time eating here, i would highly recommend eating here. Prices are good and reasonable, the food is clean such as grass fed beef, no seed oils, etc., and it’s fresh. plenty of options to choose from and they provide the nutritional value on the menu. definitely coming back here for sure 😎 also our waiter was an awesome dude
Our server was amazing- professional and incredibly helpful. The food was delicious; I had the seasonal pizza with butternut squash and lemon ricotta. As a foodie with gluten and pork allergies, I found this to be an exceptional option. The hibiscus and cactus refresher was perfectly crafted. A five-star experience!
I died for brunch at True Food Kitchen in Jacksonville seriously, everything was perfection. I tried the Chia Pudding, and it was such a dream! Light, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. The vibe was fresh and chill, the service was super friendly, and the presentation made it feel like a little moment of zen on a Saturday morning. Definitely adding this to my regular brunch rotation. My server Arianna was so polite and helped with good recommendations for my wife’s allergies!
Our first time going and it was wonderful. The food is outstanding!!! We did the Valentines Day special which included an appetizer (we ordered hummus), 2 entrees (chicken parm over spaghetti squash snd steak and fries with side salad) and a dessert( tiramisu) for $74.
Nice place! The atmosphere is super cozy. I didn’t realize this place was a chain, but the dishes were interesting and good. Ingredients were fresh, waitstaff was kind and prompt. Great stop for a light lunch while shopping in Jacksonville. Try out the Edamame Dumplings, Charred Cauliflower and Thai Shrimp Lettuce Cups. The dumplings were my favorite!
Solid selection of fresh quality food, however the whole place feels a bit pretentious and over the top for what you’re really getting. If you’re a health nut then they have all the buzz words on the menu.. but you will pay a premium! Would I go back? Probably not, but still not bad at all.
If you are looking a hearty fill-you-up kind of place to eat- this may not be for you. This is heart friendly, fresh food with a large vegetarian selection, which was nice for me. There is even vegan ice cream. There are no sodas, but there is an interesting selection of other drinks and teas. I had an iced matcha with lavender, which was okay, but I have had better elsewhere. Overall, the food was good, and the experience was pleasant. The service was okay. I stood. In the front, forever waiting for someone to acknowledge me so I could find my party, which was seated outside , I had to physically stop a server from walking by me again. Even then, they just generally pointed in the direction of the patio. In spite of that, I would definitely eat here again.
We like to try new seasonal dishes, however sometimes they are okay or even meh. You never know :) but we enjoy the atmosphere and some of the food like turkey burger and spaghetti squash pasta.
The ambiance was exceptional! I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I got the Margherita Pizza and my husband got the vegan double cheeseburger. I appreciate being able to order gluten free pizza crust. That's always a plus! The food was good, but it did not come out hot and fresh. It was actually cold. The only thing that was hot was the side of marinara I requested. That was the only problem. We waited a while for our food to come, and for it not to come out hot was a disappointment. We didn't say anything because we were super hungry from driving for hours. We just wanted to eat.
We went to celebrate a baby shower so it was a larger group. We had a reservation and were allowed to set up before they "officially" opened which was a huge help! Service was great. Food was okay. No sodas, there are teas, lemonades, coffee/espressos, and an alcohol/cocktail selection. This is a more-so health conscious place in what they offer. Average to smaller portion sizes, depending on what you get. I had the lasagna bolognese and it was flavorful but not what I was expecting.
A great unique restaurant where you’ll feel good afterwards. Atmosphere: We ate outdoors and it was great, nice cool breeze during this time and day so we enjoyed it. They could add a subtle background music but they didn’t even with outdoor speakers. The volume was low, maybe because it wasn’t too busy around the time. Service: It was great, we came on a Sunday afternoon, not too busy and since we had a pet they made outdoor accommodations with a short wait time. The host and server were great as well, provided for our needs at any given moment. Food: We ordered several things but I would recommend getting the roasted Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Acorn Squash Flatbread and herb hummus, all were delicious. I ordered a margarita pizza which was filling hut didn’t feel bloated afterwards either so that was great. My wife and others ordered a grilled chicken avocado wrap which was okay, definitely missing the hot grilled chicken since it was cold and maybe also a sauce that would complete it. Verdict: If you want a healthy spot to eat, you’ll enjoy this place, if you’re looking to get full and bloated, try another restaurant. This place is definitely somewhere I would come again and try other entrees in the future the next time I visit.
I had such high hopes for this restaurant, given its reputation and prices. Sadly, the execution of the dishes didn't quite live up to the expected standard of quality. We experienced several issues with the accuracy of our meal, which was a bit disappointing. Perhaps it was just an off night for them, but I hope they can improve their attention to detail. That being said I must say the ambiance was just perfect. The lighting, the decor, and even the background music created a wonderful vibe.
We were looking for a lunch place that wasn't a "chain restaurant" and came up with this place. The menu looked promising so it seemed a no-brainer. I chose the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with a sweet potato hash(an extra $1) and the wife bought the lunch trio(burger, salad and a drink). The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was dry(I know there was buffalo sauce on it but it wasn't noticeable) and thin. The hash was, well... undercooked and overcooked and warm/cold(no other way to explain it). I also had the chocolate chip cookie, it was gluten free and dairy free... We had a great server who was courteous, attentive and helpful. The place looked clean and modern. I suggest you give it a try but be wary, they may be trying to hard to be a healthy restaurant and not trying hard enough to be a restaurant that serves good food.
So this is a very healthy restaurant which is great, but not really for me. I did try the Brussel sprouts which were fantastic (I really mean it, they were so flavorful), however the sweet potato hash was nothing special and lacked favor. It may have been better if the sweet potatoes were more crispy. If you are looking for healthy food in a spacious environment, then this place is for you.
The food could be better. I received overcooked food twice from here. The first time I didn't complain but it needs to be brought to someone's attention.
The burger was tasty my bread was burnt the salad was tasty my dessert was downsized because I wanted it in a to go container (really) I loved hummus guacamole burger every dish was fresh the experience was a no go
Restaurant needs a deep clean. Floors are sticky and bathrooms are gross. My h husband found a piece of hard plastic in his food. It wasn’t busy and the server seemed to disappear quite a bit. We frequent true food, kitchen restaurants specifically, Chicago, Florida Scottsdale. This was our first time at this location and we would not come back. We were not offered dessert either..
So to start with our server Trace only showed any smile or personality when he dropped off the check. Before thay, he was in the kitchen (which is open with glass dividers so you can see everything) taking bites of food instead of refilling waters. The food itself was lackluster at best. The Amm-American burger was completely unseasoned, with a burger that was significantly smaller than the bun and kind of dried out despite being "medium". The fries were the end of a batch, and aren't cooked fresh, because all were under 2 inches. And the honey roasted carrots were cooked to different consistencies, some were almost raw while others were roasted all the way through, and all of them tasted different, so whatever they add ot them was not added or mixed evenly. Overall will NOT be going there again, especially as the burger was just not seasoned in the slightest. Places like this give "healthy food" a bad name
Last night my boyfriend and I decided to go out to eat. The menu looks so appetizing, but the food was not up to the standards we thought would be equivalent to the advertisements. Our server, Demetrius was very kind, but we were kind of left alone for awhile without many check ups, but let alone still sweet and very attentive when he did come by. Our appetizer took 40+ minutes to come out, and our food took over an hour. It was a monday night, and not very busy, especially for them having 5+ servers and several open tables. The food was not great, and unfortunately we both left feeling sick, and my boyfriend got some form of a minor food borne illness. We understand the hard work and dedication needed to be in the service industry; however, the food made us sick and it took over an hour to get any. I am disappointed with how much everything cost, a burger, small pizza, and a 5 small dumplings for an appetizer was around $70, this place is not cheap. If you are a vegetarian, this place might be for you because it is very alternative friendly, if not, i don’t recommend eating here.
My wife and I regularly eat at True food kitchen on date nights. I don’t know what’s happened to the position size but they have cut back massively. I don’t know if cost savings or what. I’m adding a picture of the hamburger I ordered for 19.95 . You will see my hand and to be fair my wife’s. The fry’s are the same way small portions. We will do our date nights so where other than here sadly moving forward.
Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience here. I come here often but hadn't been back in about a year and was very excited to experience the food since it's been so long and they are always so consistent and amazing and this time I was surprised and very underwhelmed. I ordered the spaghetti squash casserole, which came out very cold and very dry. They kindly made me a new one and then that one arrived hot, but it was full of seeds. I really do love this place and not sure what's going on with them, but the quality control has really changed in the last year. I would absolutely say it was not worth the $35 I won't be going back
I had high expectations based on the reviews and menu, but this restaurant fell short. The cocktail selection is limited. I ordered the ginger margarita—it was passable, but honestly seemed like the best option from a lackluster list. No one at my table was impressed with their drinks neither. I ordered the grass-fed burger well-done, which was actually pretty good. However, the fries were advertised as "air-fried" on the menu but were clearly deep-fried instead—disappointing and misleading. For what you're paying here, I expected much more from both the food and the overall experience. I still can't believe I spent over $100 and left feeling underwhelmed. This was my first and last visit.
We drove over and hour to come and try this restaurant. We were sat and given menus, waited 10 minutes for a waitress. It was not busy! Placed our order and after sitting for 20-25 minutes, we still did not receive our drinks and our waitress brought to go boxes and checks to the table next to us and disappeared. Waited about 10 minutes and STILL NOTHING! DO BETTER! We left, went to California Pizza Kitchen, and we had a fabulous experience. In less than 30 minutes, we had an appetizer and our entrees with fabulous service!
