This is our go to when we want delicious dumplings and soup without a far travel. My kids love their shrimp and pork wonton noodle soup. My husband’s go to is the shrimp wonton noodle soup with a side of pan fried shrimp dumpling. And my fav is always the wontons and cilantro with garlic and spicy sauce. Highly recommend.
Been here twice now and I'm kicking myself for not having come to this spot earlier during my time living in Jamaica, NY. Both times they have been awesome. No frills, no pizazz.... For this place, you probably will not eat at the restaurant. Not really a sit-down place although they have some tables and chairs. Who cares. The dumpling are ABSOLUTELY amazing and fresh. Homemade! My favorite dumplings are the basil chicken dumplings. My wife really likes the shrimp dumplings (both fried). We had the sesame pancakes with beef and they are just heaven. Very good all around. Order for pickup as it will take a bit since they make them on the spot. I will be including photos my next trip since I've been unable to avoid tearing into my food before taking photos. Edit: oK, so I've been to many other places. I still don't think that any other place comes close as far as dumplings. This place is a gem. Hands down. If you live in Jamaica, you MUST come here.
The reviews and pictures looked promising so i checked this place out today while on jury duty. I tried the assorted boiled dumplings with spicy sauce along with garlic, chives, and cilantro because i couldn’t decide.. it came with 8 dumplings (2 veggie, 2 pork, 2 shrimp, 2 chicken) for about $10. The veggie & shrimp ones are super chopped up and weird textured. The shrimp one has imitation crab meat. I would pass on the assorted option next time and just pay less for just the pork & chive option. the extra price for the garlic cilantro spice on top is worth it to me, made it feel like i was eating something equivalent to from a flushing food court stall ( that’s a compliment). they do have seating inside. credit cards accepted over $8 and they accepted amex as well. Overall, this was a much better lunch option than i was expecting for the day.
Today I tried the assorted boiled dumplings with spicy sauce along with garlic, chives, and cilantro and they were really delicious and soft. They were all decently sized and it came with 8 dumplings (2 veggie, 2 pork, 2 shrimp, 2 chicken) for about $10. If you like seafood the best one is the shrimp. Just be aware that there is an $8 card minimum at the register
I had the assorted biles dumpling with the cilantro chili oil and a Passion fruit green bubba tea. The dumpling were amazing and was nice to have a place to sit down and enjoy them. You get 2 of every dumpling they have as the assorted option. I can highly recommend that anyone who enjoys dumplings, give this place a try.
Stumbled upon this Chinese restaurant while I was leaving JFK airport. Had a hankering for noodles and the beef noodle HIT the spot 🔥 the beef was so tender and perfectly seasoned, especially since the dish is only $8 (you won’t be able to find a cheaper or tastier beef noodle in all of nyc). Got a congee and sesame pancake on the side. All dishes were incredible 10/10 would recommend!
As a late 20s individual that frequently comes to this area, this is the only establishment I’ve seen with fresh, and affordable AUTHENTIC Chinese food options. Nothing on the menu is deep fried, greasy or overly salted, and it’s clear that everything is made very well with basic, quality ingredients. The sesame pancakes (sandwich), dumplings, and soups are all simple, fresh, and nourishing. (Get the duck pancake, beef or chicken noodle soup with chili oil, or any of the dumplings). They also sell bulk dumplings frozen which I think is a great thing to mention for anyone needing immediate fresh (not mass produced) dumplings.
Fast , fresh, homemade noodles and dumplings , and very tasty. The decor Is tired but the food is good and affordable. After 7pm I was able to park immediately in front of the place. The only downside is that the bubble tea had bubblies that seem smaller and harder than most other places.
Was looking for something that wasn't fast food while on jury duty. This came up and saw reviews. I was also in the mood for noodle soup. It was across the street from the courts. I ordered the beef noodle soup and bubble milk tea. It definitely hit the spot. The meat was soft, the soup was rich, even though it had coriander, I didn't mind at all. The staff were friendly, the place was clean and there was enough seating for 24 people. I would definitely try the dumplings later on if I stay on for JD. Extended review. Had the dumplings a week later ( pork and chives) they were delicious. Nicely fried on the bottom, had a lot of flavor. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely go back here ( sorry I didn't take any pictures. Was limited in time)
Don't let the humble exterior or the no-frills seating fool you—Beijing Dumpling House is a hidden gem that delivers where it matters most: the food. Tucked away across from the courthouse, this unassuming spot might not win any design awards, but what it lacks in ambiance, it more than makes up for with generous portions, quality ingredients, and unbeatable prices. I had the beef noodle soup, and let me tell you, it was glorious. The rich broth, tender beef, and perfectly cooked noodles made for a truly satisfying meal. And the side of chicken and basil dumplings? Simply amazing—crispy on the outside, bursting with flavor on the inside. If you ever find yourself summoned for jury duty at the court across the street (or just happen to be in the neighborhood), consider this your go-to spot for a comforting and delicious meal. Highly recommended!
Near the Queens civil court house, a great little dumpling spot. The owners are very friendly, the food packs a ton of flavor. These dishes are from two separate visits I made, a week apart. My favorite item is without a doubt the spicy wontons. The right choice to make for garlic lovers. The Peking duck sesame pancake was great too. It’s a sandwich but with the fluffiness and slight sweetness of a pancake. Nice bit of tangy sauce in there as well. Beijing noodles were delicious too, very filling. I think you can’t go wrong with one of their many green teas. You can add boba if you want (I certainly did). I haven’t had a passion fruit drink in awhile so I went with that. I definitely recommend this restaurant to dumpling lovers and people who find themselves on Sutphin Blvd. I would also recommend it to anyone who has to do jury duty. I bet it’s a hit with that crowd.
This no-frills dumpling spot is tucked into a busy strip on Sutphin Boulevard. The interior is compact and casual. Just grab a seat at one of the few tables tucked in the back, and expect a friendly, laid-back vibe. My friend once told me they serve “the best dumplings of the world but located in the kind of street whispered of trouble.” That comment alone made me curious enough to visit. I ordered every type of dumpling they had, all cooked by frying and I have to say, I already agree with my friend’s assessment. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, they were packed with flavor. According to my friend, the boiled dumplings would be even better, so that’s definitely on my list for next time. The portions are generous, and the prices are friendly to your wallet. Service is straightforward and warm, adding to the charm. It’s not fancy, but if you’re here for dumplings that punch far above their setting, this place is worth the trip.
Beijing Dumpling House is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but don’t let that deter you. You order at the counter, grab a table, and they bring the food out to you. The prices are great for the amount of food you get—we accidentally ordered way too much! Among three of us, we had three orders of dumplings, chicken lo mein, vegetable and mushroom noodles, and a soup. In hindsight, one noodle dish along with dumplings would have been plenty. Service was quick, and the food came out hot and fresh—exactly what we needed for a last-minute dinner nearby. As for the food, the shrimp and vegetable dumplings were delicious, but I’d skip the pork dumplings—they had an odd hotdog-like taste and texture. Overall, a solid spot for fast, affordable, and satisfying dumplings! Would definitely come back, just with a better game plan on how much to order.
Just trying to figure out why there is imitation crab meat in the shrimp dumplings? It's not listed as "seafood dumplings" or "shrimp &". I get that this place is affordable and to keep their prices low they may need to take certain measures but it should be disclosed. Overall the dumplings did not have much flavor and a super weird texture because of the imitation crab meat. Also the wrapper is very thick, doughy. It's a convenient dumpling spot however taste wise, it just doesn't hit. Also paid extra for spicy, garlic . Asked for no cilantro. Check the photos.
I ordered chicken lomein with pork and chive dumplings and chicken fried rice with cabbage and pork dumplings. Dumplings are too oily and and not flavorful. The lomein tasted good but chicken in it was separately added ( not tossed), too hard and dried pieces with no taste at all. Chicken fried rice had moderate taste ( less flavor). And lastly, there is no option for regular chinese side dishes.
Very disappointing experience. I ordered online different dishes. Chicken soup: the meat was dry and tasted old. I paid extra for vegetables (bok choy) and literally got a tiny piece — felt like a joke. The sesame sandwich advertised with beef, carrots, and cilantro arrived with only cucumber. What a joke. Total scam for the price. Definitely won’t be ordering again.
