Luigi's Restaurant & Gourmet Express

We had Luigis cater a birthday party event at the Carousel in Roger Williams Park. They were absolutely fantastic. The 2 servers took care of literally everything. Thank you Jaime and Francesca! Food was delicious, service was beyond expectation. Everyone was delighted. I highly recommend them for catering.

My husband had the fish and I had the chicken marsella. My dish was excellent. Our service was excellent. Our server was Richard he was top notch.

Delicious Authentic Italian food!!! My favorite is the eggplant parmesan and the tiramisu. The pasta a la vodka is also delicious and so are the roasted veggies.

Our waiter Matt was extremely accommodating and an excellent waiter for all the dietary needs. The food and wine was great! Highly recommend!

We recently had Luigi's cater our intimate backyard wedding reception. Working with Luigi's catering staff was a breeze! Jamie was an incredible asset to the planning process and ensured everything was well executed. The catering staff were quick, kind, & professional. Outside of their incredible team - the food? SPECTACULAR. We ordered cocktail hour (including crab cakes, bacon wrapped scallops, charcuteries) and dinner service packages (including salads, chicken caprese, maple pecan salmon, meatballs, vegetables, etc.). Everything was delicious!

My husband and I love Luigi's! The food is delicious. We use their take services, but we have eaten inside and the atmosphere is very nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. Even though we now get take out, the food is always packed tight and is still hot by the time I get home. I highly recommend Luigi's 😍

Esmerelda was excellent waitress... The food was very Delicious!!! The Bread and garlic very tasty. We had meatballs chicken marsala chicken parm meatball eggplant parm. The soups were very good.

There is a nice vibe inside. I have usually gone to the Express side and have had the pasta and meatballs which were delicious but I keep going back for their Holiday soup (Italian Wedding Soup with Meatballs). I can eat the whole gallon myself in a few days. I can't help it.

I've used Luigi's for two separate catering events and was truly impressed on both occasions. The food was spectacular with service to match. I highly recommend their catering services and will surely use them again in the future.

Excellent food. We ate in the take out and self serve area of the restaurant. The selection was great and varied and the taste was delish. I had the veal cutlet on a torpedo. Tasty veal and sauce and more than ample serving. My wife had butternut squash lasagna and thought it was heavenly. We also had an order of chicken parm and that also was tender with tasty sauce and cheese. If you are in the Johnston RI area do stop in.

I can only review from experiences with the Express part of the restaurant. Tons of food, whether you want dinners, sandwiches, desserts, or have extreme will power to stare at a case full of delicious foods and leave without spending a penny. Everything is reasonably priced, very tasty, and whether it's ordering online or in person, I've always left with no complaints. Friendly, immediate service that moves quickly whether you're first in line or tenth. Whether you're looking for meals for several, or a feast for just yourself, you really can't go wrong here.

Ordered our holiday meal (Ham) and additional items - , gluten eggplant Parmesan,gluten free beef terriyaki ,baked stuff shrimp, turkey and additions pans of penne in pink pasta sauce! This was our 10th year ordering our holiday meals and everything from the pickup to the packaging and most importantly food is delicious! So good and quality is there! They have gluten free options which is a plus! If you need any catering especially for the holidays don’t hesitate 1000 times worth it! Love Luigi’s !! Thank you

We recently celebrated our daughter Nola’s Baptism at Luigi’s, and it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, Kerri and the staff made us feel so welcome and cared for. Every detail was perfect, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Amy and the team at Luigi’s went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and they truly helped make Nola’s day so special. Our family and guests couldn’t stop complimenting the beautiful Amalfi room and the amazing service. Thank you to everyone at Luigi’s for helping us create such special memories for Nola’s baptism. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Luigi’s to anyone planning a meaningful celebration! 💕

I had my dad’s celebration of life there on January 3rd . The manger that helped me was ao awesome. She made it to easy to book this in every way. The staff was great and everyone loved the food . Thank you so much for everything ❤️

TLDR: this place is amazing! Book your event here! I booked Luigi's for a birthday celebration and this place exceeded all expectations. Leading up to the event, Amy was very communicative, patient, flexible, and accommodating, and the day of was perfect. All I had to do was show us up. They were on top of everything. The staff was so kind, welcoming, and attentive. All of our guests never needed anything because the staff was always present to respond to any request—and all of our guests told us about how delicious ALL of the food was (and I 100% agree). Plus, Luigi's accommodated multiple guests' dietary restrictions (gluten free and dairy free) with more genuine care and intention than I've ever seen. This restaurant has it down and I truly cannot recommend them enough: delicious food, excellent service, beautiful space, welcoming atmosphere, and fair prices. Thank you for a wonderful experience. We will be back!!

I hired Luigi's catering for my wedding and they went above and beyond! Everyone absolutely loved the food, it was hot, fresh and delicious, and the staff was phenomenal. They helped cut my cake and set up my s'mores bar, which they didn't even have to, but stayed and set up and helped the kids make smores. They went above and beyond to make my wedding special! Jamie and her team are exceptional, and I absolutely recommend them for any special event!

Luigi's catered a family birthday party and I couldn't be happier. Matt was so helpful with menu suggestions, and was very accommodating when I needed to work around food allergies. The food was delivered piping hot, on time and set up by the delivery driver. My Italian family loved every bite. The chicken Parm, chicken caprese and pasta al forno in particular will be ordered for all family gatherings going forward! Thank you Luigi's for taking the stress out of entertaining.

I catered Luigi's for a housewarming party, and it was a huge hit! All of my guests were raving about the food. We got the chicken parm, caesar salad, potatoes, and pasta with marinara sauce, and everything was delicious! I would absolutely order from Luigi's again.

Luigis catered our first event we hosted october 3rd at vadenais farm in cumberland. I have been in the food industry for 25 years and my hats off to jamie and her crew for running such a smoothand organized execution of the food and beverage , down to the dessert and canoli bar. , while taking the time to make sure all guests were comfortable and taken care of. Thankyou again for such exceptional food and service.

Jaime the Catering Diva was so amazing and brought so much life to our friends wedding celebration. The catering was great and brought home style food in an elevated way. The charcuterie and cannoli booths were so fun and customizable. Luigi’s definitely made me and my friends want to use them for events in the future!

Great consistent hot food. Calamari is delicious, Chicken franchise my fav, Alfredo, yum. Clean, friendly, parking sometimes hectic. Always delicious!

Nice restaurant located in the center of Johnston, they offer a sit down dinner , and also have an express take out option. The staff are very nice and attentive. The food is good , typical Italian style menu items . Parking is tough , the parking lot is tight . Make sure you come a little early for your reservation .

In a state full of Italian restaurants, this blends right in. The chicken parm was good. I personally like Mike's Kitchen if I'm looking for an excellent chicken parm. There were some better sounding dishes on online menus I found so hopefully they will bring those back into rotation some day as specials or menu replacements. They had a live "wedding singer" outside on the patio - not to discredit the singer, but just wanting to accurately describe the music (we went on a Saturday). It was very slow for a weekend night but maybe because it was nice outside. This isn't in our rotation of restaurants we eat at on a weekly basis and probably won't be. But I also wouldn't say no to going if someone invited me here.

Older restaurant, little loud on Saturdays. Polenta was delicious. Enjoyed the Arancini as well. Pasta was the grilled chicken Valdostana. Delicious tasting and service was attentive. Sangria had a nice sweet taste.

This is a takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the vehicle. I ordered a side of meatballs and a chicken parm dinner that came with pasta fagiole soup. The soup was ok, nothing too exciting. The meatballs were very good, tightly packed and solid with very little filler. The chicken was good, I would have liked it pounded some more. The marinara sauce was very good. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 7.9.

Pretty good martinis. I really like the Salted Caramel Espressotini, tasted like liquid dessert. ($12 each). Bartenders weren’t the best. One was talking to a group of 3 ladies for 20 minutes straight. Didn’t acknowledge us until we were leaving. I went to try a few things from the express, prices are way too high. Walked out without buying anything. Luigi’s does have great soup though for a decent price. I’ve gotten it here for many holiday meals.

Unfortunately will never come here again. I came here for takeout expecting traditional Italian food and was left with anything but that. The food was mediocre and the dessert was not good and tasted days old. On top of that food being one of the worst food I have tasted; I had added a $5 tip to my total during the takeout checking out process. Although I did not dine in I like to add a nice tip because I also worked in restaurants and I think it’s the right thing to do. Somehow I was overcharged in my tip, that I myself signed. Somehow my $5 tip was manipulated into a $10 tip. ON TOP of the food not being good I do not trust the integrity of the restaurant or their workers. I noticed the discrepancy and was refunded the $5 but the damage is done. Never returning here, should’ve read the reviews. Attached are some pictures, if you look closely even the strawberry looks horribly old!

Our server was great but the gnocchi wasn't good - no flavor, sauce was acidic tasting. The meatballs were hard as rocks and must've been microwaved because there were hot and cold spots. We've gone here for years and it was always good but this time was really disappointing. We also had a reservation that was confirmed by email yet they had the wrong time. While they could still accommodate our group, it was insinuated that we messed up and we didn't.

The WORST “so-call fine Italian dinning food”. Ive eaten in “hole the wall joints” and it is 10-times better than Luigi’s. Luigi’s restaurant is overrated and overhyped. I am NEVER going back to Luigi’s @Hartford Ave, Johnston RI again. I spoke to the supervisor and complained about the food. It got me no where. Basically it just spaghetti and sauce tasted like Heinz ketchup. What a joke. I rather commute a few extra minutes to Atwells Ave on (Federal Hill) or drive down to Atwood Grill @Atwood Ave is much better. This has nothing to do with cost. I do not care about the refund. I am a strong supporter for local small business. Luigi’s as a staff need to understand what hospitality and customer service meaning. (Eat at own risk consumers). I went home and threw away the food. I will not cause a scene talking to an incompetent restaurant’s supervisor.

I’ve been a customer for many years. I’ve had many parties and taken guests there. I don’t know what’s going on but I booked the dinning room, I get seated at the takeout center. I booked seating under the tent several times and I was seated on the sidewalk next to the hostess where all the wait staff come out with the food. I spend a lot of money on the catering side. I dine there between 12-18 times per year. I feel that this is embarrassing and disgraceful.

We has a reservation for 7:00 pm , we get moved to a garage like "extra" dining area , oh with a big mirror for atmosphere, no art work on the walls, like a garage, almost as i said, let's get the garage as a restaurant, no music until someone turned a radio on so it seemed, been there twice, had the blackened chicken special twice, had my eye and stomach eyed on the 10 oz fillet Steak la mama , couldn't wait! ...my girlfriend always keeps begging me to try something different, it was butter noodles with lame chicken already cut up , there was no blackened to be found
