Tip: Don't hesitate to try it despite mixed reviews; some find it a hidden gem. Come early for the carne guisada, as it's traditionally made and may run out.

Love this cafe. Authentic Mexican food that will knock your socks off. Very friendly staff.
Great place to eat, maybe the best Mexican food I have ever had. We both ate for $16.00
Best in town for we weary travelers. The real deal! After a quick dip on the Llano River, and a stroll through main street, you will thank yourself and support local business here in Junction.
Really Nice little restaurant they do have some good variety of food.
No frills, local TexMex eatery. Breakfast burritos are perfect before and during a trip to the S. Llano River. So, eat one and grab a couple to go.
Great homestyle Cheeseburger and onion rings. Coffee was good too. There was a large group just finishing their lunch and they seemed very satisfied too.
Best hamburgers in Junction according to my husband and my best friend. I love their nachos and soft tacos. Always a clean place to eat.
Local flavor with plenty of character. The food is good, not fancy but reasonable. I really enjoyed the taco salad.
The wait staff is incredibly friendly and a blast to be served by. The food was very good and priced right.
10 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Husband and I agree... best chicken fajitas ever! Ate them twice in 10 hours. 😄 Those frijoles are 💣BOMB💣 No complaints 👏👏👏
INCREDIBLE cheese enchiladas
It doesn't look like much on the outside, but then again, some of the best restaurants don't. It's a very casual atmosphere serving both American and Mexican cuisine. You can get a cheeseburger or a burrito here. It's a seat yourself establishment.
Gloria and her crew always deliver. Awsome chicken fried steak.
Had a great breakfast, the waitress was very attentive and kind. Food was good.....
Nice waitress. Great hot sauce 😋 it has the best flavor and it's spicy enough for me to enjoy. I wasn't going to eat here because of the previous reviews but im glad I tried it. I ordered the chicken fajitas and oooweeee .... delicious!! My husband's chicken fried steak was alright... it did need salt as some people have said before. I'd definitely eat here again!
Snuck in for some Mexican Food following the eclipse. Not disappointed, nice & hot with great taste. Had the bean & cheese nachos and Chile Rellano with Beef & Rice/Beans.
Some of the best tex-mex I have ever eaten! Literally like eating in a mamasito's kitchen! Can't wait to go back to Junction to enjoy this place. Great food, really friendly staff and not expensive! It right by the Lowe's (grocery store) parking lot on the main drag, so don't hesitate to pull off I10 to eat here. The Lowe's parking lot is right there for parking the big rigs. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Junction.

Good food not a large selection for breakfast
The salsa could use some help but the food is good, although it is very lightly seasoned. It's more traditional styled mexican food and not Coastal/Tex-Mex styled for those of you who know the difference. It's located by the dollar general and out in front of the Lowes grocery store. Wait staff is very friendly and quick to take care of you.
Queso is wonderful. We enjoyed the burritos and Mexican plate. Very good!!
The food was average Tex-Mex. Salsa had a good flavor. Service was quick amd friendly.
Very nice people and tasty food. Just accept that in this part of the Hill Country, Tex-Mex is more Tex than Mex. Accept it and move on. to appreciate the nice folks and friendly service.

Came across this place by accident while traveling on I-10. Stopped at the Lowes in town for groceries- saw it next door. Small cafe- the typical “hole in the wall”. I figured “why not?. The carne guisada itself was worth the detour off the fwy. Come early, as it is traditionally made and they only do so much. Service was top-notch, was told the tacos were “pretty darn good”. Will be back, for sure.

I personally didn't like it but for what restaurant are offered in that town they would rank about in the middle. Service was slow.
This place has some potential but the main reason one stops here-the food- was not great. The biggest issue was the tortillas. They strongly smelled and tasted of preservatives, telling you immediately they are not homemade. I'd recommend the owner either have them made inhouse or have them brought in from a homemade place. Additionally, the hash browns were general frozen patties. Restaurants really should attempt to make them fresh or buy the shredded ones that taste much better. The menu was confusing while appearing organized. We probably would not stop here again due to the lack of fresh tortillas alone. Tortillas will make or break your tacos. Pros: nice service, very good decor, decent pancakes (should add milk instead of water into mix!) Cons: stale store tortillas, omelette and food not the best, just ok, women's bathroom had no light switch but was fairly clean
Service is unbelievably excellent, but tye food is bland and oily... not worth the cost.
Taquitos tasted like they were out of the freezer. Nothing else came with them but sour cream and not very good guacamole. 😕
Came to have breakfast at this restaurant only because the web site advertises "menudo" but the waitress informed my husband and I that the website is all wrong and doesn't know who wrote that...i think all restaurants have the responsibility of keeping their websites up-to-date...
Just to small for my liking and my chicken quesadilla appeared to be made with sliced cheese not the best but respectfully you cant expect the same as a big town. While visiting a 1 horse town
Stopped in for first time and LAST time. Food was average at best, and very overpriced. Service average until we got to the register to pay where I was over-charged big time. When I pointed it out, the employee justified it by saying we ordered a similar plate and added the additional items. Not true. So two plates of 2 Eggs with bacon cost me $38. It's not about the money, it's about treating customers with respect and honesty. In my opinion, save your money and just skip it.
It was nothing special. A cheese enchilada that tasted like card board & a bean tostada... Woohoo. Not going back
Food was ok but very bland, service though was absolutely horrible, never checked on us, or even said thank you or anything. You can have mediocre food but you better have amazing service!
Atmosphere and staff were great but food was pricey, lacked flavor, and meat was low quality. I was looking for Mexican food but this food may more on the Tex side of Tex Mex.
Very plain tasting food . Not people friendly . Waiter didn’t know about the menu when asked . Never came back to check and see how we were doing or anything . They never asked If everything was ok when we paid . But we did offer our opinion anyway. I don’t like to write negative reviews but I also like to be truthful. I try and follow reviews when dining . How it helps . Disappointed

Their sign says open but they won't let you inside. The one time I managed to reach the interior of this establishment, I found myself unsatisfied.
Waited at least a half hour for take out. Our meal was completely bland. So sign of salt or seasoning in any dish. Even the guac was just smashed avocado. Chalupa was more of a mini taco salad. Do your taste buds a favor and skip this spot.
The food is not bad but the customer service is really bad. It says they close at 9pm there has been many times I have called to place an order and they will not pick up the phone if you call say 8:00pm or 8:30 they will not answer the phone they shut down early
People who eat at this restaurant have horrible taste because this is not a good place to dine. They charge like their 5 star quality with 1 star food, just awful. I do not recommend this horrible place to anyone.
Not a nice place to eat at, young girls working the front desk have no customer service. We end up paying for our drink, and left to find something better.
Very bland for Mexican food.
So their menus on line say authentic food; gordita slopes etc. And that is NOT the case. This is a tex-mex restaurant. When I ask the young lady why online menu was different she said she didnt know why they put that online. To me that's just deceiving 🤔
Poor service poor quality food. Ordered enchiladas with onion and it was stuffed so full of onion that was all I could taste. Salsa rice and beans have no flavor
Just an awful place, food was bland and tasteless. Never again will I try this overpriced so called restaurant.
They don’t stick with their hours of operations. Twice now I’ve been turned away 20 minutes before their closing time. I guess they don’t like money. I’d leave a review about the food if they were actually serving any during business hours.
If I even thought they would consider a refund, I would ask, but I doubt it based on this experience. Almost $30 for absolute garbage. Queso? No, that was Velveeta from a microwave, not even a spec of seasoning. I gagged. Taco meat, no seasoning as well. The Mexican Plate was literally spilling out of the container so half the beans and cheese were gone. I mean, makes no sense how they're still in business.
If there were Zero stars to give I would. I do not recommend this restaurant. The only good thing about this restaurant is the server, she was very polite.
Food was not good. Wife had chicken, and was sick for 3 days, she had to take 2 off work. She never takes off work. I had the plate, and spent the night sitting in the bathroom. Service was mediocre at best. I have a camp in Junction, and am there 20-30 weekend every year. All my buddies said eat somewhere else, but I thought I would try it. They were right.
Beef enchiladas had no flavor...my rice was literally about a tablespoon..I guess they were short on rice..
This is a poor excuse for a restaurant. The service was absolutely horrible. I was basically ignored even after the waistress nearly ran me over. She just went back to looking at her phone. She was quite curt and having a customer was just a bother. There were two waitresses and 4 tables being served so not short staffed or overly busy. I ordered super nachos there was 11 chips they were cutely decorated with the beans, beef and small dalop of sour cream and guac. Nice presentation. Not worth $12 and a service charge. The salsa and food were bland. It's to bad as I go looking for these small establishments because they are generally better.
One of my worst experiences here in Junction Texas. The young kid that waited on us was rude and he didn't know the menu. The food was bland to say the least. My husband ordered a beer with his meal and another midway thru the meal Wich did not come until we were thru. I've been a server all my life and I currently work at a very reputable Mexican restaurant in Dallas Texas. I was just very disappointed. We stopped because it was a small family owned restaurant and the can be great finds but not in this case. If your passing thru this quaint hill country town just keep driving right passed this spot.
