Our server, Patricia was excellent. The food was delicious and the restaurant's atmosphere was friendly and inviting. I highly recommend it and will be back for more soup and pie.
Absolutely amazing! Superb service and the new menu is great.
The Tiger Bar and Restaurant IS A MUST DO when at JUNE LAKE or any time! The service is FAST and FRIENDLY. The FOOD IS SO GOOD you will go back again and again. The Bar Tenders are Great too. Ready to serve you up a cold brew. YUMMY I went there all the way from Fresno, Calif. The Road to a good Eatery and Bar is Never to far to travel. Have fun and remember Don't feed the the WILD ANIMALS 🐱
Great service! Food came out fast and good. The place was packed but that didn’t slow them down one bit. I had the fish taco. Excellent! Patty melt was also served at our table. It was excellent as well.
Good food and beer selections. Cocktails available. Pool table.
Great service…Patricia was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious!
Joey is great and the Mac n cheese is so good
Great food, service n the busperson was great awell...
Not sure what’s up with the bitter LA crowd leaving poor reviews. This is obviously a divey bar and that should be your expectation walking in. The people working there were great, the food was surprisingly good, they had a pool table and a lot of families with young kids were there which was great to see. 10/10 would recommend
One-of-a-kind bar with inexpensive libations and plenty of rustic atmosphere—plus an uncanny tiger-themed vibe. A regular flow of local fishermen, sun-seekers, and working-class folks. Not to miss on your trip to June Lake.
Great breakfast! Everyone was friendly and Patricia was on it!
This place has been in June Lake for a long time and has been a great place to come for me and my family. Great mountain bar and grill that is very family friendly. Food is fantastic. Service is fantastic. Jill always takes great care of us. Highly recommended. I love their Bloody Mary too!
Patricia was great. Very helpful and attentive.
We visited this place over the weekend. The atmosphere inside is very old and cabin like feeling. Service was good. We ordered the pineapple burger and pastrami sandwich. Both were hot and fresh. Server was very attentive to us and drinks always stayed full. Cute place to visit for a quick bite at June Lake.
We stopped here for lunch. The place has plenty of indoor seating, beautiful views of the main street and mountains, and great staff. Jill was absolutely fantastic, friendly, and great with our kids. We ordered the tiger burger, pineapple burger, steak burger, fish tacos, and zucchini sticks. Everything tasted amazing and the portions were huge. I was thinking the steak burger would be like shaved steak, but no it was an actual steak on a bun! It was cooked perfectly. The chips looked to be made in the kitchen and were crispy and delicious. The zucchini sticks were perfectly breaded. Everything was just great. We'll definitely be back!
Thank you Gwynnith for taking care of me. You were very sweet and funny. On the food, it was great and when they brought the pie, it was over. It was so good. I really recommend the blueberry pie. The food portions were perfect, they didn't over do it or under do it either. It was the perfect amount. Great restaurant definitely coming back.
We just stopped in this evening and had a great experience. The service was prompt and friendly. Our food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were great and the beer selection is all you need. The prices are amazing for a ski resort town. I don't usually leave reviews, and I dont think they are hurting for business, but I just had to share what a positive experience we had.
Jill is awesome. Great food. The hubby loved the bloody mary. The Turkey burger is out of this world. We will definitely be back. Paul & Christine Shafer.
Had the day's special of chicken fried steak sandwich & fries. My family also ordered a chicken tenders plate for our kids and a half order of pork nachos. Everything tasted fresh & crispy. The sandwich was delicious! I can only imagine how tasty the breakfast version of their chicken fried steak is. The fries were plump and fried perfectly... crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Service was friendly and timely. We would definitely eat here again & recommend to anyone looking for an Americana Cafe.
It’s a nice restaurant; more reasonable prices than I expected. Nice waitstaff. Fishermen arrived and were a tad raucous; but not obnoxious. We were finished before the crowds arrived. Good choice for us.
One of the best places in June Lake for food and drinks. Our server Dave was great. He had tons of knowledge about the area and was more than willing to share. The food was great and the drinks were strong. I definitely recommend stopping here.
I've lived in June Lake for 12 winters now and I have always had great food and service at the Tiger Bar Cafe, it's always excellent and the atmosphere is great! Thank you so much! Steve Grimaldi
Everybody is very friendly, efficient, and respectful! We love coming here! We love the new look and menu!
The staff was very fast and friendly. I’m very picky about fried food and the fried pickle chips and onion rings were excellent. Bloody Mary’s were slightly inconsistent but delicious (different people hand making them quickly) When the place was PACKED we waited no more than twenty minutes. We asked for modifications to our food items and the staff handled it with ease. I also don’t understand the other reviews about them being “opposed to out of towners”. They were very friendly to us and all the other out of towners here. In a small town with limited options, joints like this have the choice to not deal with customers who are jerks. I’m assuming that is what other reviewers dealt with.
Tiger Bar & Cafe is a great place to have food and chill. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it perfect for both casual hangouts and more intimate gatherings. Their menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, but I especially love their fries—crispy, flavorful, and simply delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring you have a pleasant dining experience. Plus, they have a cool selection of shirts and caps for sale if you're looking to grab some unique merch. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or planning to spend some time relaxing and eating, Tiger Bar & Cafe is the place to be.
Jake and Josh were great! The chef made us wonderful meals. We started with a half order of nachos with meat. Plenty of fresh veggies and real cheese. I had the burrito grande and the wife a chef salad. Both made with fresh ingredients and tasted fabulous! We had a BLAST! Thanks fo the Good Time.
The new menu is amazing! Everyone is super friendly and helpful would definitely recommend
One of the best diners I’ve been to on the road. Staff is friendly and honest. The food is very soulful, I had the French dip and it was very tender with a savory sauce. My wife got the open face hot dog with the extra Tiger chili and she loved it. Best part of the meal was the beer battered French fries, they go great with a side of ranch. Highly suggest if you are staying June Lake or just passing through
Loved the experience at this bar. Especially speaking to and being helped by Patricia! Would eat here again
The first time I visited June Lake was in 2016 with my parents, last summer I went back with my friends. I remembered the Tiger bar from back when I visited with my parents, I had some good memories of it! Last summer I came back. My friends and I had the Ribs and burger, everything was great! I hope to come by again someday and try the local June Lake brews again! Greetings from Amsterdam, The Netherlands!
Tried several dishes and every single one of them was fantastic! Our server (dude with red? Beard) was patient, kind, and very attentive. Drinks are also phenomenal! Highly recommended and easily one of the best eats between June and Mammoth. Ignore the crotchety old lady. She's rude and abrasive but harmless.
The Tiger Bar in June Lake isn’t fooling around anymore. This is no gentle nudge forward—it’s a full-on revolution for the town, the sort that grabs mediocrity by the collar and tosses it out the back door. Pull up expecting the usual mountain-town shuffle: big views, okay food that’s been phoning it in since the Carter administration, service that moves like it’s on vacation. New owners show up instead and they mean business. They gut the excuses, bring in real ingredients that actually taste like something, and suddenly the menu’s got teeth. That Tiger Burger doesn’t just sit on the plate—it demands respect. Pastrami arrives with attitude. June Lake’s spent too long riding on scenery and habit, days bleeding into each other without much fight. The new owner looked at the place and decided average wasn’t cutting it anymore. He didn’t turn it into some shiny chain spot or overpriced trap. He kept the bones—the worn stools, the low hum of the bar, the no-nonsense feel—and just made everything better. Sharper. Honest. Alive. Head up the 395 or loop the lakes, you owe it to yourself to swing by. Grab a stool, pick something from the new lineup, take a bite and feel what happens when a beat-up old joint decides it’s tired of being forgettable. The Tiger Bar’s back, dragging June Lake along for the ride, and the high country just got a whole lot luckier. Five stars. No contest.
I came in for breakfast, the place was clean, we were greeted by staff. The new menu is great! Easy to read, clean and lots of choices. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions and the food was great! I will be back!
Eggs Benedict are outstanding. The blueberry pancakes are the best I have ever had. I can't wait to explore the rest of the new menu. I would add photos but there is nothing left to show.
I honestly haven’t been to the Tiger Bar for years! The food was sub par and usually unsettling and the management was horrible. Now under new ownership, it’s clean, the food is great, and the staff are happy and helpful! June Lake has a year round open good eatery again!! Try it! You won’t be sorry!
Tiger Bar in June Lake was such a pleasant surprise for breakfast. You don’t always expect standout food from a bar setting, but the breakfast was genuinely great — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Everything hit the spot. The staff was friendly and welcoming, creating that relaxed, small-town vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. And the house-made Bloody Mary? So good. You can tell it’s not just a mix poured from a bottle — it had real flavor and just the right kick. If you’re in June Lake and looking for a solid breakfast with a fun atmosphere and a great Bloody Mary, Tiger Bar is definitely worth a stop.
Tiger Bar is hands down the BEST spot in June Lake, no question. If you’re visiting or even just passing through, this place is an absolute must. The vibe is always fun, welcoming, and lively, and the staff are some of the friendliest, most attentive people you’ll meet. They make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. They’ve got a pool table which makes it such a fun place to hang out, plus they sell really cool T-shirts. The food is seriously amazing. I love that they make a lot of their drink mixes and some sauces in house — you can taste the difference. If you’re in June Lake and don’t stop at Tiger Bar, you’re missing out. This place is a gem and easily my favorite spot in town. Also, Lesley is an absolute babe!!!
Surprisingly good food. Came back a second night. Fun spot in this little town. New York steak was better than the tri-tip. Kids mac n cheese is super
This wasn’t our first choice, but boy, am I glad the other places were closed during the curb seasons. We had the daily special, BLT on Rye with shaved turkey. We shared the sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. Do not miss their onion rings!! They are in the top 10% of best onion rings I’ve ever had. The mammoth pail ale was good as well.
this place is such cool little place we found in our vacation. we walked in and imidiatly u get a feel of small town america. verry simple verry friendly very good looking place i love it we got a burger a salad and bowl of chilly everything was good is a def must return to it next time we in the area. thank u guys for ur services and ur food.
Welcome home! At least, that is how they made me feel. Being a local favorite, I had heard a lot of good things about Tiger Bar & Cafe. I was greeted and seated quickly. Service was great. The omelet was cooked properly with plenty of ingredients to be filling. The hashbrowns were great! The location is central and is within walking distance from most of the close-by lodging locations. I would not hesitate to come back during future visits.
*5/5 Stars - A Home Away from Home!* I've had the pleasure of being a regular patron of Tiger Bar & Cafe in June Lake for the past 4 incredible years! This place has become my go-to spot for delicious food, warm hospitality, and unforgettable memories. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with a rustic charm that makes you feel right at home. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They go above and beyond to ensure that every visit is exceptional. Now, let's talk about the food - OH. MY. GOSH! The menu is diverse, creative, and caters to all tastes and dietary preferences. Here are my absolute favorites: 1. *Garden Burger*: A flavorful, juicy patty made with love, topped with fresh veggies and served on a toasted bun. It's a game-changer! 2. *Zucchini Fries*: Crispy, golden, and addictively delicious. Perfect as a side or snack. 3. *Enchiladas*: Tender, flavorful, and smothered in a rich, spicy sauce. A must-try for any Mexican food lover! 4. *Mac n Cheese*: Creamy, cheesy, and baked to perfection. Comfort food at its finest! Whether you're a local or just visiting June Lake, Tiger Bar & Cafe is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Thank you, Tiger Bar & Cafe, for providing a warm and welcoming space for our community. I look forward to many more incredible years of enjoying your amazing food and hospitality! *Highly Recommended!*
Don’t expect great service. When ordering don’t ask a lot of questions (especially if you’re ordering from Josh) just make sure you know what you want. The food is not bad and the drinks are good. This is the kind of bar that does not put up with fussy people or out of towners. I am not say this is a bad thing just beware and BE NICE TO THE STAFF. As the story goes the Tiger Bar was once a gambling hall in the 1930’s and when stat regulators can around the took all the slot machines and threw them into June Lake. Multiple scuba divers have looked for them but never found them. Bottom line order your drinks quick and then be happy!
We stopped in here after a perfect day of hiking...as we 3 wanted a cold PBR and some pool. The environment is old school, comfortable, simple, and you'll want to stay, just like we did. We sat at the bar, played some pool, listened to some killer tunes, made some new friends at the table, but best of all....I took a chance and ordered those absolutely, amazing macaroni and cheese stuffed pretzels that were on the special menu that night! Holy frickin moly!!! And I thought my day was already perfect...pshh
Not the best food in the world, but for the price, and considering where you are, I would come again. Staff are friendly, have food prepared promptly. Plenty of parking, restrooms are nice. Entrance, seating, and restroom are all accessible. Would say better than average bar food, not real great, but very good all things considered.
Great bar in town area of June Lake. Had a few drinks and staff was great. Food was ok. We probably ordered the wrong stuff. Trying to get small bites while drinking. Burgers and chicken dinner looked like it could have been tasty. Other than that, what we ordered was so so fried snacks. Had breakfast there a couple years back and it was pretty good.
Second stop traveling to and from Temecula to Reno. Patricia was very polite and helpful, as was Gwen. Burger was better than the fish tacos. Loved the atmosphere and servers.
We had breakfast here, and it was very good. Staff was friendly and made some small talk. Pancakes were nice and sweet, and the egg with cheese fresh and good. The price is also very good, so you get your money's worth. Also more than enough parking space and if you're lucky a view on the mountains.
Had a very nice meal. I especially recommend the chicken skewers. The chicken was well seasoned and the dipping sauce had a nice little kick. All parties liked their meal. Drinks were well mad. Our waitress was very professional and provided great service. If she is who people said was mean, I think that she is just straightforward and does not dilldally. She was good at her job so leave her be. I would definitely go back as I heard their breakfast is great
Stopped here for dinner, around 6:30 pm on a Thursday. Busy spot! June Lake brews on tap. Tasty. We ordered pastrami sandwich and fish and chips. Decent food and came out quickly. Unsure about all the negative reviews. I’m just disappointed I didn’t order the enchilada bc it looked amazing. Just a tip, if you are an out of town visitor, just BE A NICE PERSON, don’t expect the same service you get at home. You are in a new place, just chill. The staff is busy, but doing a great job, we were in an out within an hour. Plenty of parking, super clean bathroom. Perfectly fine by me!
Pastrami Sandwich & Fries… delicious! Great tasting & good size sandwich! Large portion of crispy hot fries! Salad with Fried Chicken…. Disappointed:(. Salad was small & tired! We both laughed at the Fried Chicken size! It HAD to be a Cornish Game Hen ( about the size of your little finger & breast was about the size of your thumb). Tasted good but more like an appetizer! Good service but good thing the sandwich was big or I would’ve left still hungry.
Super charming. But, $8 for a bowl of iceberg lettuce and 3 cherry tomatoes - literally. Coffee is probably Folgers, which is fine.
Food and drinks are great, service has gone downhill. Our entire family comes to June Lake every year and look forward to going to the Tiger Bar. Over the span our trip, at least 30 of our family members go to Tiger Bar multiple times throughout our stay. Sad to say, half of them won't be coming back to Tiger Bar because of the attitude of one of the waite staff. Felt like we were an inconvenience to them.
We had lunch here, ordering a chicken taco and a burger. While my husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger, I was disappointed with the chicken taco. The chicken felt like plain boiled, shredded meat and was a bit dry. The side of rice and beans was also underwhelming; the rice was dry and had an unusual taste that I didn’t particularly enjoy. Overall, mixed feelings about the meal.
This place appears to be under new ownership or something. I've been going here for years and it was always my favorite in the area but I had a much worse experience recently. The menu is changed and the food is OK. I ordered Mac and cheese bites which sounded great but tasted fairly gross. I asked if I could get something else instead, and I'm not one to ever send food back. They brought me fries and charged me extra for both on the receipt and I asked why and the waiter in a rude tone told me "I can't not charge you for those just because YOU didnt like them"... I only ate 1 out of like 15. I was stunned for that kind of answer at a restaurant. I guess if youre the only restaurant in town you can treat customers like that but now the new mexican place nearby is sooo good, you can see their reviews. If they apologize ill remove my review because I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses but its not okay to be rude
The place is clean, staff is nice. Service is sort of slow but I'm guessing that it's because it was busy. Coming into the restaurant we were excited to finally get to eat. We were seated right away. I've read other reviews talking about staff not dealing well with out of towners, which we were, so that explained a lot. We were a group of brown people. We got a lot of stares by other customers and their kids in the restaurant. Even after we were seated we were still being stared at. It was extremely uncomfortable and even though I was hungry coming in-- I lost all appetite. I come from a big city where I had never experienced something like this before. My table and I just ordered drinks since we already had been seated and given utensils. The hot chocolate was good. Their Mexican specials were really expensive for how cheap the actual ingredients are. One taco is +$3 which I found to be insane. Everything seemed overexpensive. I wouldn't come back.
This place is an embarrassment. Been coming up to June lake for about 20 years. Have built this place up to my lady and the last 3 years in a row rude and bluntly don’t care for our business.(we walked out). Lady is a sea word and staff follow her lead. Sad and disappointed. Used to have good memories of this place.
Back half of the establishment smelled like a bathroom gone wrong. Tried to mention this discreetly to Jill (the owner?) and she didn’t offer a solution then told me I should go somewhere else. Rare customer service tactic. Pretty decent bar but feces smell + weird vibes from Jill definitely put a negative spin on the experience… bummer!
The ONLY place open in June Lake on a Summer Monday for breakfast. I am literate, so I read their numerous no dogs allowed signs but was traveling alone with my dog and had hoped to just order a muffin and a coffee to go. They dont have a take out window and wouldn’t let me place an order at the theshold. The beyond rude woman working just talked over me. Guess I will be driving back to Latte de Da in Mono for breakfast which is honestly fine because I would rather not eat breakfast in a bar anyway.
Not the place i would normally go but out of limited options in June lake decided to grub lunch here. I was refused entrance with my service dog by the bartender on this picture, which is a violation of ADA. His friend (also on this picture) was also making fun of me saying that you all say it's a service dog and stuff like that and it was very humiliating. BBB and ADA complaints to follow.
We walked in to have a nice meal as a family of five for lunch. We walked in at 11:27 for lunch and after waiting for a few minutes without being acknowledged We decided to seat ourselves, someone brought us menus after waiting for 20 minutes a couple walked in got seated by the waitress and she answered their questions and started taking their order. At that point it was almost noon, we still were being ignored so we went down the street to the Mexican restaurant who seated us promptly and took our order.
The server passed by us several times, intentionally ignoring us. When we asked if we can order, she said no because the kitchen is too busy.
We were excited to visit the Tiger Bar sweet young kid behind the bar…..and then immediately the owner (older woman long hair) met us sadly with the rudest attitude and unfriendly comments because we were outta towners. They didn’t close for another couple hours and the place had 5 people dining . We wanted to eat and play a little pool. We immediately called the rest of the family on their way, to fill them in. we have always enjoyed the Tiger Bar. It was a bummer… we have so many great memories at t bar when we come up to June and stay at the Heidelberg. I would avoid this place until it changes ownership. Real disappointing to say the least.
The elderly waitress was really rude. My theory is that there’s not a lot of places to eat at June Lake and there’s always new tourists coming in, so they know they don’t have to be nice or have great food. Would NOT recommend. You’re better off driving to Mammoth Lakes for food.
The restaurant staff was unwelcoming and rude. They displayed racist attitudes toward us. The service was poor, and we were compelled not to leave any tip due to the continuous bad attitude from the staff. The food quality was disappointing, except for the French fries. The fish and chips, chicken tenders, taco burrito, etc., were below average and not fresh. When we asked for the bar menu, the staff member responded rudely and asked us to order any cocktail. Despite this, we refrained from responding in a similar manner as we were there as a family. We could have ordered an unfamiliar cocktail to challenge him, but his rude and racist behavior discouraged us from doing so. If you plan to go to June Lake and if you want to have a delicious meal in a relaxed place, look for other options. This is definitely the wrong place with the wrong owner and staff.
Slow service, nasty food, the staff there have poor manners, not to mention the place smells like a toilet.
Our recent visit to Tiger Bar and Cafe was unfortunately marred by the rude behavior of two staff members. Despite our anticipation of a pleasant meal on a Saturday evening, our experience took a disappointing turn. Right from the start, we were met with indifference by the the old waiter left us quite dismayed. His impoliteness was surprising; he appeared uninterested in taking our orders, and his dismissive attitude made us feel like an inconvenience. Even when we asked for information about the menu, he responded with impatience and provided minimal assistance, leaving us uninformed about our meal choices. This is especially disheartening in a place that's supposed to provide an enjoyable dining experience. The most dismaying part of our experience was the waiter's reaction when we decided not to leave a tip due to his discourteous service. As we were leaving, he came outside and sarcastically shouted, "Thank you so much." This unprofessional behavior only deepened our dissatisfaction. To our astonishment, the lady accompanying him, who appeared to be the owner, showed us THE MIDDLE FINGER, an utterly disrespectful and offensive gesture. Such conduct from restaurant staff is inexcusable and severely damages the reputation of the establishment. Additionally, we couldn't help but notice what appeared to be racism.
I rarely ever post a negative review of an eating establishment but I must about this really bad experience I had recently. This review is for the owner of the Tiger Bar and Cafe that you know this in order to stop this type of behavior in your staff and keep your business from losing more out of town patrons. I stopped in on Monday Sept 25th at 11:30 to order 6 orders of take out lunch on the recommendation of a friend that goes to June Lake every year, this was our first experience in June Lake and at an eating establishment there. My mother was not able to come into the restaurant due to physical restrictions so we decided that take out would be best due to her condition. I mention to the first person who I believe she was the owner when I came in that I was wanting to order take out lunches. She said that the waitress would be with me shortly. Meanwhile 3 other parties sat down in the restaurant after me and immediately had their orders taken and were treated like family being they knew everyone around them. After waiting an additional 10 minutes I was told that I would be seen soon. Another party comes in and sat down and again their orders taken, I was never talked to. I then asked when I could order and was rudely told that customers in the restaurant were first and takeout was second "No Exceptions". I was shocked at how rude and curt this waitress was towards me. I then left and found great service and items for lunch at the local market where the owner went out of his way to accommodate my family for only $40. Sorry Tiger, you let an order of over $150 get away due to your very rude and crass waitress. Takeout orders are just as valid as eat in. You need to have a heart to heart with your staff and let them know that they should treat takeout like the regulars. To others thinking about takeout at Tiger, beware.
This place sucks now. I don’t know how it’s still in business. I come up here every few months and every single time the service is trash. The only way to get service is to sit up at the bar. The food is terrible. I got a chili size and the meat was still frozen. You come in for a couple drinks and some appetizers and it takes two and a half hours before you cash out and leave. You walk in and it takes ten minutes to be acknowledged. You sit and you’re there for 20 minutes at the table before you walk out. Terrible to see a place I’ve been visiting for over 30 years go so far downhill.
BAN THE TIGER BAR. Read the reviews!! This is NOT the 1930s. Tiger Bar is actively discriminating. Tiger bar should NOT be this out of date and blatantly discriminatory. It is beyond sad how the Tiger Bar has become run down and disgraced in the last few years. IMPORTANT Tiger Bar is not ADA compliant. MORE IMPORTANT the Tiger Bar staff actively discriminate and racially profile "customers". On top of that, the Tiger Bar is not kid friendly, the food is terrible and the service is just obnoxiously bad. Save your money and gas, there are better restaurant options in Mammoth or Lee Vining. #BanTheTigerBar
This happened maybe 25 mins ago. At Tiger Bar & Cafe. It's Tuesday afternoon and Tiger Bar was completely empty when I stopped in with my family and my service dog. Outside, there was a sign that said “No pets, no emotional support animals,” which I totally understand. Because of that, before we even sat down, I made sure to tell the waitress that my dog isn’t an ESA — he’s a trained service animal. She said that was fine and seated us. A few minutes later, an older woman approached and gently told me that animals weren’t allowed in the bar area. I let her know, again calmly, that he’s a service dog. I also explained, within my rights, that while I don’t have to share my disability, I can absolutely tell her what he’s trained to do. I’m still relatively new to having a service dog, and on top of that, he wasn’t feeling well from the altitude, so he was resting in his small carrier. Even in the carrier, he can still perform his tasks, and I’ve never had an issue anywhere else. And to my understanding though this may not be usual it still a viable option for my animal as it does not interfere with his training. Some disabilities are silent and not seen. She looked at him and instead of letting me tell her what he was trained to do, she asked, “Why is he in a bed?” I got a little flustered and said, “He’s not feeling well from the altitude.” In hindsight, I should’ve simply explained that the carrier doesn’t interfere with his work, but I was caught off guard and trying to stay polite. I also know now that she wasn’t supposed to ask that question in the first place. She responded with, “I don’t have to serve you.” At that point, my family said "okay no worries" we quietly got up and left. I understand that refusing service because of a legitimate service animal is an ADA issue and ILLEGAL, but I’m not trying to cause trouble. The whole situation just left me feeling disappointed, especially since the restaurant was empty and I’m still learning how to navigate interactions like this. For Now I’ll be thinking over whether to pursue this as a legal matter, but for now I just want others with disabilities to be aware that this happened, so they can make the decision that feels right for them.
Only getting a star because they fed me. Never felt so unwelcome in a place. I'm kinda a local just doing work up here and nowhere to eat. Went in and the older gal says she's not got time for a "to go" order but I don't mind waiting, I just want food. I don't need to hear about how many dishes you got or give me lip about how your alone. The cook is the one doing the work anyway, just place the order. Last time coming here for sure.....
No words. I went to this restaurant on a freezing day — it was the only place open. I was with my 2-year-old and my hypoallergenic (no one is allergic to him, so no excuses), service dog (with full documentation), yet they refused to let us in. They are required by law to allow service dogs. I genuinely thought rules exist to protect people in situations like this — so no woman with a toddler and a service dog is left freezing outside.
Very disappointed in the attitude of server and staff. We love June Lake and come once or twice a year. Usually love going to Tiger Cafe, but this morning the server just made the whole experience awful. Treated us like we were a bother. Sorry if you're having a bad day, but try to do better for your next customer. We won't be back to bother you again.
