It was a very pleasant surprise to find such a nice cozy romantic restaurant. The service was attentive and nice. The food was delicious. We had an appetizer with a nice selection of cold cuts. My one criticism is the hummus could be a bit more flavorful. The main entrees were amazing. The pasta dishes tasted so fresh.
This place was hands down the best Italian food we have tasted in years. I’m almost upset we haven’t found this place sooner. Best Italian in the Katy are and if you’re thinking about it you should definitely try. The customer service was also excellent!! We will definitely be coming back.
Went here for birthday and it was a great choice! The truffle cheese wheel pasta was the best pasta I have ever had. It was smooth and creamy without being too rich or heavy, with a hint of nuttiness from the truffles. The server spun the fresh pasta around in the 1 year-aged large cheese wheel in front of us and the performance was a nice show. We also got the veal cutlet with broccolini and roasted potatoes- the veal was a bit too salty and rich (borderline fishy), but the sides were fantastic. The lighting was darker and more romantic and we were seated at a nice booth in the middle. They also gave a complimentary tiramisu piece of cake and added a “happy birthday! <3” in chocolate icing on the plate for birthday :)
My husband and I went before a movie, we’re going back when we have more time. Our appetizer was a special and I don’t recall the name - but it was very fresh with four different cheeses, fresh tomatoes and prosciutto. I had the Lambardia Pinot Nero - very silky and perfect with dinner. We shared the spaghetti pescatora. The sauce was INCREDIBLE with the perfect amount of spiciness - the clams, scallops, and shrimp were our favorite especially the scallops - but the calamari and mussels were great as well. They were super generous with the seafood, with more than one meat per bite. My photo was just half the serving - I was anxious to try it and forgot to grab a photo before! We are excited to have found this Italian restaurant. Soon to be a favorite of ours!
Everything was sheer perfection. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, my husband had the black truffle Alfredo, and we shared the tiramisu. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff friendly and attentive, and the food was divine. Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who enjoys good Italian food.
I’m not sure if the food was good or their friendliness made the food much more delicious. Mr.Roberto was very kind and friendly, we felt like we had dinner at a friend’s house, not at a restaurant. My friend and I sat for 2 more hours after we finished our meal (there were plenty of tables available for anyone new that came in) , and the staff did not make us feel like we overstayed :) Thank you Palinuro, I will visit again soon.
We dug in to our meal before I had a chance to snap pictures. The aromas from the kitchen were intoxicating! I had one of the specials - cheese tortellini with asparagus cream sauce. Not one drop left on the plate! My bf had the spinach and cheese ravioli. The dining room was full, we had the opportunity to order full dinner at the bar, watching as every dish was carried out of the kitchen! I'm looking forward to returning to try more. Service was spot on. We were greeted by the owner. Great wine recommendations. Definitely a jewel!
Definitely somewhat of a hidden gem as it's the perfect place for a nice and quiet Italian dinner. We had great service throughout the meal (Alberto was fantastic!) and the food was even better. For starters, we enjoyed the Burrata Capriccio as it had a great mix of flavors (the figs were a nice touch). I wish there was a little more of the balsamic reduction, but it definitely wasn't necessary. For the main course, the highlight was absolutely the Cheese Wheel Pasta with Truffles. This was easily the most generous portion of truffle that I've ever had on a pasta, which made each bite more bold and decadent than the last. It's definitely a lot for one person to eat both in terms of flavor and size, so sharing among a table would be ideal. The filet was a great and hearty dish to pair with the pasta. I wish there was a little more of a char/crust on the steak, but it was still very tender and cooked perfectly to our liking. I'm definitely looking forward to another dinner here and hopefully one where I can enjoy one of their desserts as well (which all looked amazing).
Omg!! This is a Gemma in the middle of katy!!! If you want to get authentic Italian Food this place is a MUST! We tried the cheese wheel pasta with truffles, spaghetti pescadora and as appetizer a cheese board with italian prosciutto! Glass of wine… and just enjoy …. I would definitely come back here!!!! The service was awesome! The atmosphere made us feel comfortable is an small place where definitely you will enjoy a date night
Palinuro is authentic Italian cuisine and truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I ordered the Parmesan wheel truffle pasta and I wish I could have it every day, it’s that good! I don’t recall the name of my husbands dish, but it was chicken with artichokes and roasted potatoes, and some kind of lemon sauce and it was also incredible! The staff is also incredible, and very attentive. Can’t wait to go back.
Wow. After almost two years living in Katy, we have finally found our favorite restaurant! What a gem of place. Delicious food, relaxing ambiance, excellent service and great wine selection! I always judge an Italian restaurant by their lasagna and theirs was divine. Perfect! Loved everything about this restaurant and can’t wait to return
It's a charming Italian restaurant in the neighborhood that offers exceptional food and service. To begin with, we tried the Fritto Misto (a mix of fried calamari, shrimp, and zucchini) and it was simply delicious. For our main course, we ordered Ossobuco Milanese and Spaghetti Pescatora, both of which were fantastic. To top it off, the server surprised us with a delightful birthday Tiramisu cake on the house. It was a wonderful gesture that made our celebration more memorable. We would definitely return to this restaurant and highly recommend it.
Italian is my favorite, and is is by far the BEST Italian food I have ever had. Everything was delicious and Roberto was SO sweet. We came in with a group of 15 for a birthday and everyone left happy and full which is very impressive. Clean plates the whole way around. We will be back!!
This is a true Italian restaurant. Changed my perspective of their food. Fresh and authentic not excessively cheesy. Loved it. Roberto was a great host and customized the food to make a vegetarian pasta without cheese that’s not on the menu. Went for birthday diner and enjoyed. We just loved it.
We went a few nights ago and it was so good! The place is tucked away in a corner of a plaza, so it’s hard to miss. We walked in for dinner service and were seated right away. The place had a few couples and handful of groups. We were served fresh, warm bread with olive oil. We started with some appetizers- arancini and mozzarella salad. The mozzarella was melt in your mouth goodness. The dressing was tart and so flavorful. For the main course, the kids had fettuccine pasta with alfredo sauce and chicken. Hubby had pesto penne and I had the pollo piallard. Everything was oh so good- fresh, flavorful and you could taste the difference using the freshest and quality ingredients makes! The kids devoured their pastas. We ended up getting cappuccinos at the end. Service was excellent with our servers and I think the owner coming and checking in on our multiple times. The place is on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. Food was absolutely deliziosa!
Absolutely phenomenal experience! This was hands down one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. The special pasta with truffle was out of this world—easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The red snapper was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The drinks were spot on, and we ended the meal with a Nutella cheesecake that was just the right amount of sweet—perfectly portioned and an ideal finish alongside a well-made espresso. The service truly stood out. Our waitress was fantastic, and the manager went above and beyond—so friendly, knowledgeable, and made some excellent recommendations. We’ve been here before, but tonight sealed the deal: this is officially one of our favorite spots in Katy. Well done and congratulations to the whole team! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow. I must say, at first due to it being in a strip center. Well once you walk in, you definitely forget that. The ambience was perfect and the staff was delightful. The food was fabulous and it came out temperature hot. If you are in the Katy area you must try this spot. Perfect date night without having to travel downtown Houston. You will not be disappointed.
Quaint little Italian place with dim lit table lamps, Andrea Bocelli playing, house made pasta and authentic Italian dishes, the best wait staff and an overall warm and pleasant experience. We enjoyed the pasta from the cheese wheel prepared table side. Will definitely return. Grazie Mille!! 🤍
We booked Palinuro for a rehearsal dinner and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail exceeded our expectations. We used the back room for approximately 54 guests and it was so nice to have a private space to celebrate. The food and beverage was authentic Italian and delicious. The owner and manager take great pride in their cuisine and it shows. Every meal option was terrific and they were so helpful developing our event menu. In addition, their wine is carefully selected to complement the food they serve. Roberto, the GM, was incredible to work with and very responsive to any and all needs. So very thankful to have worked with him. The wait staff during the event were very attentive and it is very clear that it is a well run kitchen. I would not hesitate to book Palinuro for any future large parties or events!! 5 star job!!
Delicious food! Reasonable prices for what we received. Appropriate for special family dinners or couples dining. I enjoyed a carpaccio appetizer and the cheese wheel pasta. My husband had a Caesar salad and the red snapper special. This is our second time to visit the restaurant. I highly recommend!
Let the empty plate emphasize how much we enjoyed our experience. Short ribs were incredibly tender. Lasagna was to die for. Perfectly balanced. We also shared a tiramisu and some coffee to top things off. Great environment for a date night and incredibly kind staff. Get here early to enjoy the limoncello before it sells out, I highly recommend it.
The food was eye crossing good!! The pasta was delicate and not heavy, the Langostina were flavorful, perfectly seasoned. My father’s Rainbow Trout was mouth watering! The crisp white wine Roberto recommended was paired perfectly. I highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant. I’ve dined here about a dozen times and everytime is perfection! The Truffle Pasta Cheese wheel is simply ORGASMIC!!! Another level of satisfaction 🤤
Came here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner with my girlfriend. Beautiful dining room and ambience. Food was delicious, drinks were phenomenal. Roberto was amazing and even brought us a dessert to commemorate the occasion. Girlfriend and I are from DFW, but will be stopping by again before we head home from Houston. Wonderful spot!!
Right in my backyard...to give a 5 star, there has to be lots of factors that goes into the ratings and this place hits the spot. I am usually conservative and conscious, but from entering this quaint establishment and getting greeted by a friendly host to the owners and then being treated like family and royalty, what else could I ask for?? Uhmm...delicious food and drinks! We were here to celebrate our two oldest girls 1st place finishes in orchestra and golf competitions...from freshest ingredients to black truffles, it was a great experience. If you’re in the South Katy area, come try out this place! ChowChow Time!!
This place takes you to Italy with its amazing food and attentive service. The environment is lovely. I highly recommend Palinuro!
We had the Italian experience without leaving Katy. The food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. The host/owner not sure if he was both was amazing, he walked us through the menu, helping us make wine selections and making recommendations when ever we needed. Truly amazing.
The restaurant is family owned, it its authentic Italian food. The dishes are delicious, we ordered the Vida e Mare pasta and loved it. The place is quiet and cozy.
I love the ambience, food, and service here. I live in San Antonio and come to visit family in Katy often. Our favorite restaurant to escape to is Palinuro!
Amazing food and atmosphere. The homemade egg pasta for the pappardelle bolognese was light yet filling. Good portions and festive environment for the holidays!
Roberto was our waiter and was awesome. Made our experience the best. He made recommendations that enhanced every detail of our dining experience.
Roberto was fantastic. We let him pick the meals and wine! Everything was just incredible. Highly recommend this place!
Thank you Roberto and team! The food was outstanding, the service was amazing and the environment was truly wonderful and friendly. A true authentic experience in our neighborhood. My wife and I loved the cheese wheel pasta with black truffle. We will definitely be back to try other dishes and desserts next time!
Roberto is family to us and always gives us the best service. The food is consistently amazing and the most authentic Italian food that we can find in the states! Roberto is the GOAT
The food was fantastic. I had the Lasagna Bolognese and my wife had the Pappardelle Bolognese. Service was great. Definitely coming back!!
Very friendly staff. The calamari, braised rib, red snapper, and wheel pasta with black truffles were delicious.
We ate at Palinuro on November 9, 2025. We loved it so much that we have booked a family gathering to be held there during the holiday seasons. The food is excellent. Roberto was our server and he was very kind and entertaining. If you want a great meal, with a warm atmosphere, and people friendly service then this is the place for you. More than a meal. It is an experience!
Roberto is the best! We love coming here. I always get the pasta in cheese wheel with truffle. Delicious! Wine menu is so good. Atmosphere at this new location is lovely
Great food and service, good atmosphere. We got almost the full pasta menu, and all of them was tasty. Also thanks for the patience waiting up to we were in the table.
The food, atmosphere and staff are top notch. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food in a family environment, this is your place. A true Italian gem in Katy. Cheers to Roberto and the rest of the staff.
Food was served extremely HOT which is a huge plus. Everything was very flavorful. Not a huge fan of the tiramisu (lady fingers were a bit dry for our liking. Overall a great experience.
We wanted to try a new resturant. Glad we did. A little hidden gem. The food selection is limited making the meals all very good. I has the ravioli and my spouse had the veal. Both were excellent. Highly recommend a visit.
Such an amazing environment! The staff is always so attentive and thoughtful. Palinuro is truly a delight for any occasion - big or small, they will celebrate you!
Great service directly from the owner along with the waitstaff! The gluten free penne pasta and lasagna(not gluten free) were delicious! The owner was very hospitable, attentive and friendly!
it was very yummy and delicious, the customer service was fabulous and very polite and friendly and welcoming. would definitely come back here. perfect place for a date night! 10/10. even the water was delicious !
First visit to Palinuro tonight and it will be far from my last. The service was beyond wonderful, the atmosphere was very warm and inviting. My husband ordered the pork chop special and it was the most beautifully cooked pork I have ever tasted. Served with parsnip puree, fontina cheese, mushrooms and roasted vegetables…it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the lasagna. The meat sauce was divine and it had the most perfect béchamel. If you are looking for a perfect meal, Palinuro will be hard to beat.
Food was a 100%. Really tasty! Service was a 100%. We love trying out the moms and pops kind of restaurants. They typically give their customers personalised and really good service. They pay attention to you and make sure you have a good time. We will love to come back here and tell others about this place.
A nice cozy place in the outskirts of Katy. The online menu might be misleading for vegetarian options but once you come here, they can help take care of the changes/substitutions as needed. Ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara which initially was bland but the owner Roberto was really supportive and helped make the pasta as we wanted. The service is good and would love pizza options in the future. Overall a great dining experience, would recommend talking with Roberto personally if you want your pastas customized.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary by having a delicious meal here. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food was yummy and portions generous. This is a gem in Katy!
We went here for my father-in-law’s birthday dinner and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant recently moved to a new suite in the same strip center and the new layout is beautiful. When you walk in, you enter a cozy bar area with cocktail tables, perfect for grabbing a drink or sharing a few light bites. The main dining room is tucked away in the back and has a warm, intimate feel. Our server (I'm sorry I forgot his name!) & Roberto (the GM or possibly the owner) were both wonderful. We had a later dinner than usual due to my father-in-law’s schedule, which meant our 17-month-old was a bit out of routine and extra fussy. Roberto went out of his way to keep him entertained with little cookies, playful interactions, and even some makeshift toys from around the restaurant. The food was also incredible. I can be pickier than the rest of my in-laws so I didn't try everything, but the shrimp in the Fritto Misto was perfect along with the sauce it was paired with, probably the best I’ve had. I ordered the Spaghetti Frutti di Mare but asked for shrimp only, and they were more than happy to accommodate. My “spaghetti with shrimp” was delicious. I didn’t try the other dishes at the table, but everyone raved about their meals. Highly recommend!
This food was amazing! I had the carbonara and the sauce was creamy and the chunks of “bacon” were super crispy and delicious. My wife had the ravioli and that was simply amazing. The sauce was a little acidic and then the noodle were al dente and handmade. The filling was silky creamy. We will definitely be back!!
It’s been a while since my husband and I have been to Palinuro, and their new space is beautiful and so open and inviting! The atmosphere is lovely and the service is friendly and attentive. Regardless of everything else I’d give 5 stars just for the food alone - everything is delicious, high quality, and authentic. I won’t let so long pass again before coming back!
My husband and I stopped in on a weeknight, hoping for a relaxing dinner before the holiday rush—and this restaurant did not disappoint! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed. We will be back soon!
Food was delicious, our waiter Miguel very friendly and great service, recommended the Barbabietola salad, the Cioppino seafood soup (delicious!!) Arancini and Pollo Piccata, out of rhis world. Bruno the chef and Gabrielle came to greet us at the table. Has become one of our favorite restaurants!!!
We have always loved this neighborhood gem since it first opened. Palinuro has a quaint but sophisticated ambience and is a perfect spot for a celebration or special date night. The owner, Gabriel, will make sure you have a unique culinary experience and is very helpful in pairing great wines with your dinner selections. The wait staff are true professionals making the evening a lovely experience. Don’t miss the off menu special of fresh pasta with black truffles made in a parmigiano reggiano cheese wheel, it will be a favorite for life!
This is our favorite restaurant in Katy! The staff is so attentive and personable, and the food is amazing. Still as frequent patrons we enjoy a new dish almost every time as they have rotating specials. Do not miss out on this hidden gem!
Excelente
We ordered bolognese and pollo piccata and they were both delicious! We also had the chocolate mousse and it was a great way to end dinner. Our server was so kind and funny and we loved his energy. Would come back for that alone! I’d highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some delicious italian food.
We went to this place to celebrate our daughter’s birthday on new year eve. We made a reservation for 6. We arrived on time. Our table was ready. Prior go to this place, we checked the menu online, the prices and the reviews . All of them were right for the special event (about 20 to 30$ per dish). As soon as we seat, we checked the menu and options where similar (no the same) as we saw online. The waiter came and talked to us about their “specials” for the night: lamb chops and some special cook pastas. We didn’t see these options in the menu or as addendum(neither the prices). My family decided to try the lamb and the whelked cheese pasta with tartufo. I chose something from the menu. Food was great and we enjoyed the dinner including a complementary cake for my daughter. Even the owner came multiple times to check if everything was ok. Why i didn’t give 5 stars for this review: I was surprised to see the lamb chops cost almost 70$ and “special pasta” more than $50. I was not expecting such high price for these dishes. I bit the bullet and pay. In Summary, if you are going to this place and they offer you their special if you don’t want surprises, ask for the price before order.
We discovered this restaurant recently and was happy to have to so close to our house. The place reminds me of Da Vinci Restaurant in Katy! We ordered Polipo for appetizer and was very very delicious. The octopus was amazing, soft and savory. I ordered the Filetto di Manzo Ai Tre Pepi. I had this steak in Rome and fell in love. It really did remind me of the steak I had in rome. The sauce is amazing so I wish they gave more of the sauce and maybe less of the peppercorns because there were a lot! Love eating the steak with the sauce. Spaghetti Pescatora was pretty good. However, it needed more sauce and the portion was small for an average man. It was on the drier side so if there was more sauce, it would have been perfect. Wheel Pasta Tartufo Nero was very very very delicious as well. I was pleased to hear that they had this since I tried this in Florence. I was expecting the performance I saw in Florence, with the fire they sparked on the cheese so it owuld melt. But they didn’t do it. Also, I just wished it had more pasta. Every thing was great, lots of truffle but just more pasta. It was small considering its a $50 meal. Adding some pasta will make this meal perfect for me to want it next time! But still very delicious Pappardale alla Bolognese was just a plain bolognese pasta. It was a normal meat sauce pasta. Also, the portions were a but small too. It was only enough for a teenage girl to finish it all and be full. Cacio e Pepe was pretty good too. But this pasta also needed more pasta. More pasta was needed since a normal teenage boy finished this in 4 mouthfuls. The sauce was good too but just needed more pasta! Overall, the amount of each meal was on the smaller side. Adding pasta will be best! Our family aren’t big eaters but it was on the smaller portion. However, I am very excited to see that they have such a delicious Italian restaurant near our home - less than 5 min away!! Also the owner of the restaurant was very kind and friendly. He definitely seemed to know each dish well, served the meals and also prepared it! I would definitely come visit and I hope it has bigger portions next time!! (It would be 5 stars if the portions were just bigger but other than that, everything else is 5 star worthy!!!)
I’ll start by saying, for an Italian restaurant in the suburbs, I’m impressed. The food is the focal point here. Our starter, the calamari came with fried shrimps and zucchinis which was a nice surprise, but the crispiness was lacking, I like a good crunch to a fried calamari. We had the bolognese and the truffle pasta out of the cheese wheel and they were both delicious. The pasta out of the cheese wheel is a sight to see. My mouth starts salivating just thinking about it. The canolo for dessert was good. The atmosphere was eh, the music was modern pop song covers, not much to the decor. Service was top notch.
We went here for a date night one Friday and had a 7.30 reservation. We were seated right away when we got there. I have to say, some of the decor is fine but it's a little hit or miss. Like the lights are dim but the walls are bright and don't scream like a date night spot . Okay, now that some cons are out of the way, time for the good stuff. We got a couple of cocktails, both were fantastic. Our waiter was super nice and friendly. For entrees, we got the pasta out of the cheese wheel with truffles and the carbonara . The cheese wheel pasta was super expensive not going to lie, but it was definitely worth the price. It was probably the best pasta I've ever had. They do charge a 4% credit card fees btw ( just something to keep in mind) but overall I had a great experience, especially with the food and the service !
The service and atmosphere are great! My Pollo Piccata was good, but a little lacking in flavor. I felt like it needed lemon juice and more capers. The vegetables that were served with it were delicious! Here's a little tip. Unless you want to pay $7.50 for water, be sure to order tap water. We told the waiter that we didn't want sparkling water, so he brought bottled water. He didn't mention that it would cost. In most US restaurants, water is complimentary.
This was our first time and it was definitely not what we expected. The server we had was very polite which is always much appreciated. He listed off the specials to us and reccomended a great wine that I loved. The appetizers/ antipasti's were decent nothing too amazing. The one big problem I had was with the glasses that our water was served in. I am not sure if it is the water or the sponges that are used to clean the dishes but the less and less water I had in my glass the pungent smell of dishwater/ fish filled my nose. By the end of the meal I couldn't stand the smell anymore I almost gagged. The risotto also tasted very strange. I really do think it has something to do with the water that is used. The pasta had inconsistencies in the texture. There were some over cooked pieces, some al dente, and some undercooked and most of the pasta was stuck together which I assume is why that happened. You can see that in the photo attached. I truly didn't like my pasta dish at all and neither did my boyfriend. It did have guanciale which I've never had but even then the pasta on its own was not great. The desserts were great and I would definitely try the others they offered. I also couldn't help but over hear our server joking with another worker as to why we were just sitting and not eating for such a long period of time. It is because after we recieved the antipasti's we needed just a few more minutes to decide on our main dishes but we had finished them completely and were just sitting waiting for our server to come over again after serving us those. We really just needed a few minutes not 30. It was also not busy at all at the time because he did walk past us quite a few times without asking if we were ready. I trusted the reviews greatly but that was a mistake.
In no way should this venue currently be considered 'fine dining '. There are no soft surfaces, kitchen noise heard throughout the eatery. So LOUD on this Saturday evening we were uncomfortable. We did not have the experience others had shared The menu is spare and so is the decor. In our opinion, the anti pasti and the coffee with dessert were the highlights.
