Every time we wrap up a ride, we know we’re in for a treat when we head to "Scholars and Scoundrel Restaurant"! They never fail to impress with their delicious food and refreshing drinks, perfect for refueling after a long ride. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and they always make us feel right at home. From perfectly crafted cocktails to mouthwatering dishes, everything is top-notch. Our SWCC cycling group is very happy with this wonderful place—it's become a key part of our routine. Thank you for making every visit memorable and delicious!
Thursday night, I had an absolutely delicious steak. It had been smoked all day. The sides were awesome. And by the way, you know you have a damn good steak when there is no need to put anything in it. I always have great service from Alicia, Sophie, Monica, Jessica, Sarah and the rest of the gang! Thank you Will, Tony, Jeff for all that you do! Hugs my friends!
I was very impressed with all aspects of this place when I visited 3/29/25. The restaurant was having a benefit and was super busy. Our waiter was doing his best to keep up with orders, but he was overwhelmed. Through it all, he remained composed and professional, and our brisket sandwich was delicious. Seems like a great place to catch a game. We will definitely be back.
Been going to this place since their first location as a regular lunch spot and still find new people to bring here. I admittedly go for the Chimichurri Wrap cause it’s that delicious, but I’ve never had anyone say their dish wasn’t good. Great atmosphere, fun spirited staff, and a good meal. Definitely worth a try.. I’m certain you’ll go back again!
We had a graduation party for my son and our server Alex was amazing. And Tony was a great help setting everything up. Will definitely be going back soon. And had lots of great compliments on the food from our guests.
This place is perfect for adult dinner date night. We sat at the bar last night and we had the best time. The dj was playing fabulous dance songs. Loved her set. The bartenders were so nice and friendly. Margaritas were much needed and so delicious. Their food is also so good. Fried shrimp were what I ordered along with their tomatillo salsa. Reminded me of Goode Co. Fried shrimps. Definitely going back soon. As for the mask comments, stay home if you don't feel safe! This shirt is perfection!
Food and beer was good. I had the blue cheese burger with fries. We also had the wings. The food was hot and the patty was seasoned well. Our server was attentive and personable. This location wasn’t flashy but we needed to do reconnaissance for our fantasy draft and they do have a private room in the back for any parties, meetings or in this case, draft party.
Such a good first time here! The food (Porkmelt and Professional Burger) was amazing!! My husband said the Porkmelt was the best sandwich he's had in years. Our waiter (Alejandro) was friendly, checked back frequently, and knew a lot about the menu. We will be back even though we live 45 minutes away!
The chilli cheese hot dog is amazing. I love the white queso on the hot dog. So unique and tastes amazing.
This place is awesome. William the GM great guy came over to make sure everything was right and tasted good. Aaron the other manager very friendly. They have live music the atmosphere was amazing. I love that it is veteran owned. Bailey my server recommended the wings, omg they were huge, I got the whiskey bbq and double x hot I will be coming back
Wife and I won a gift card to here at a local charity. Normal we wouldn't head this far to try a place but we are glad we did. We didn't know what to expect however a sports bar with a great menu was a great surprise. All of the food was cooked correctly, came out quickly and tasted great. Food and drinks are more than reasonably priced. We will be back.
I have been frequenting this place every weekend for the past two months during the day and the service and the food continue to be top notch. Monica the bartender surprised me since the second time she saw me because it only took her once to remember my beverage preferences and food choices along with my name!!!. That goes a long way because you begin to feel at home when you step into the restaurant. The food quality and taste is consistently excellent and they have choices for every diet plan. Team, keep up the great work and thank you for feeding me tasty food along with great energy.
Really like this place, so far in the area is my favorite sports bar kind of place. The food is good the beer selection is also good and now they are serving crawfish!. What I don't like is that some times it gets crowded and service get slow. Prince is reasonable with less than 20 box per meal with a drink.
Amazing food and service! If you're in the area stop by this place. The bartenders are friendly, servers are attentive! Manager helps out everyone in the restaurant, very nice to see. Host greeted me as soon as I walked in and politely walked me to my table. Ribeye was excellent and they had a great special!
I had chicken strips and fries. The fries were crispy on the outside. The inside had a excellent balance between starches and sugars. The Chicken strips had the same home style type breading as the fried green beans. The breading was surprisingly crunchy for a batter so light. The service was world class.Pandemic protocols were being followed everywhere, mask on staff, sanitizer on each table and more. Our server known as Kat was responsive, but not overbearing. She could not be friendlier or more welcoming. We both added Scholars and scoundrels to our must revisit lists.
Needed a late night place in Katy with sports TVs, fun music, and most importantly great food. Loved the menu and the vibe. Had a hard time choosing what to eat because everything looked good. Nice choice of sides. Paige treated us like queens. Glad to know this spot exists as a lot of things in Katy close early.
Awesome burgers and fries! I had the Declaration. It comes with a tasty sweet sauce and bacon. The fries are perfect too! My wife let me have a bite of her grilled chicken buffalo wrap. It really is spicy! And the chips and green chili queso... FANTASTIC! Only one minus... There is only one toilet in the ladies room, men's room and family room. The place has a bar so you may have to wait in line to go. But the $2 house beer served in icy glasses makes up for it. I'll be back.
The food here is really good and the place is family friendly. They have a card game or board game at every table. We’ve tried several things on the menu and everything has always been delicious, but my favorite is the Shrimp in a Bag. I also love that they serve tater tots. The Cucumber Neddy drink is just 👌🏻.
Very reasonably priced. The food is good, though if you get the yummy white queso eat it while it's hot cause it gets cold quickly. We really enjoyed the mini Phillie sliders and the chilli cheese hotdog. Alcoholic drinks where great. I could stay all day and drink $3 mimosas. A live DJ was setting up as we left at about 8pm. The only negative is that they still need sun shades for the Kingsland side glass wall. The setting sun on that I-10 side is brutal, even the servers were blinded bringing us food and drinks.
I have tried this restaurant about 15 times for food & drinks from their first few days open. I have seen this place grow and seen at them at their best and worst moments. Through it all Tony & Amber and the others (Excuse me for not getting everyone's names so I name the people I have interacted with)do a fabulous job managing the bar and restaurant. Summer, Yvonne, Greg and the rest of the bar does a fabulous job keeping the drinks flowing. Prices are good and the drinks are great! Cheap beer on tap as well and service is great both at the bar and tables. Kelly, Mike Jordyn and the rest of waitstaff are really great on recommending items to try and giving wonderful service. Just like every other restuarant there are items I love, that just so so and maybe 1 or 2 I dont care that much for. But this place is a great place to hang out at or stop by for a bite or a drink. They have had several theme nights and weekends and they have totally rocked those out. It's such a great atmosphere with really good food, drinks and especially people. Highly Recommed this place!
The food was exquisite and fair priced in my opinion!! If your upper class or middle class there is something here for you!! If your in college or a single mom there is something here for the family!! If you have an event there is something here for your event!! The food is top of the line and ingredients are amazing!! The macaroni is amaze the WAP tacos were amazing!! The steak nachos amazing!! Green beans and zucchini fried are amazing and the sauces are interestingly great!! Each person ordered something different we all were more than satisfied and the ribeye was only 22 and it’s more than 9 ounces!! They are not stingy so take time to stop when you get the chance.
Great menu with a large variety of choices, I was happy to see there was plenty of healthy choices too, not just your typical bar foods. There are great beer and drink specials too! Staff was friendly and attentive and the venue was clean. We sat outside in the outdoor area and despite the Houston heat we were so comfortable thanks to the shaded/covered area. I ordered the skrimps and it was the perfect meal, delicious and healthy while also being filling. Would definitely recommend anyone to check this place out.
GREAT FOOD. It’s unique, very well prepared, and quick to get to you. Service was amazing. Very friendly waitress, great about suggesting food and drinks, extremely knowledgeable, always checked on us, and was quick to bring stuff back to us. Suggested a sweet drink, I tried it & loved it. It had wine in it and I never like wine. Had the football games on and a DJ to play the commentary on speakers and music when it was on commercial. Had a sign at the door that wearing or not wearing a mask was your choice, which is great. You will not be disappointed here!!
Went with a group of 18 and the service was absolutely amazing! The party room was great and free to reserve (fits about 30 people), which was a huge plus. We went on a Thursday, and they had a steak special, so I decided to try it. It did not disappoint—cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious! We also ordered a variety of appetizers, and every single one was a hit. We’ll definitely be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Had a great visit to Scholars and Scoundrels near Katy Mills on Kingsland Blvd. While the birria tacos were a bit lackluster in flavor, the rest of the food more than made up for it. The wings were outstanding—we tried the hot flavor, spicy garlic, and honey habanero, and each one was packed with bold, delicious taste. We also kicked things off with the Scoundrels Loaded Fries as an appetizer—highly recommend! Flavorful, satisfying, and great for sharing. Shoutout to our server Lotto, who gave us awesome service and had a sharp eye for detail. Super friendly and attentive. Also, heads up: they’re running a $7 Ribeye special on the 4th of July—definitely worth checking out!
This was our 1st time here and I definitely look forward to returning. They have Happy Hour daily and food specials on certain days. The reason for 4 stars on food was because my sweet potato fries were slightly undone, still edible so I did not send them back, but will make the suggestion to cook them a tad longer when I return. Additionally, may I suggest to consider serving a side of ranch with the "Fire in the Hole" burger. It was delicious, however, I found my mouth definitely "on fire" at a certain point and while I was amused, I didn't plan my drink to food ratio well and would've appreciated a quick reprieve. Overall, I had a great time and again look forward to returning, Monica was awesome in the bar area and the 4 stars for atmosphere are because there wasn't anything spectacular although the decor was nice to look at. Thanks for a great visit, until next time 😉
I’m in town and was looking for a good steak. This location came up as it was close to my hotel. I ordered the Rib Eye and was not disappointed. The portion was great and it was cooked to perfection. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans which were equally great. I got one of the signature margaritas and that was great as well. I’ll definitely stop by here again.
I’m in town for business and stopped by to try the new location. The Elyson location has been a go-to for years, but this is a bit easier to get to from I-10. I got the queso with chicharrones and asked for a side of fresh jalapeños. Omg they were seasoned, grilled and sliced which was the very best surprise ever. I had The Walk of Shame which was a terrible choice because I had intended to eat half and couldn’t stop so I don’t have lunch for tomorrow 😂. This location has a great patio area and the staff is super nice. The owner came by to check on me several times to get feedback and just to chat. Traveling sucks but it’s nice to have a place to sit and chill out where you know you’ll be taken care of.
Going to Scholars and Scoundrels Katy. Never been, what should I order? Update: there was a couple of mentions for the Kitchen Sink Nachos. That's what I got. When I go out to eat, I try deconstruct the ingredients in my dish. I was off my game, I was catching up with my childhood friend Stephanie, who was visiting from Hawaii and my attention was concentrated on her and family. The service was great, our drinks were never empty and our server anticipated our needs. The atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting. Not sure what took me so long to try this place out. Restaurant Review The restaurant is a decent option for an affordable lunch. The food is okay—not outstanding, but it gets the job done. The portions are fair for the price, and the service is efficient, though not particularly warm or welcoming. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for a quick and budget-friendly meal, but don’t expect anything memorable.
Overall good. Alcohol isn't cheap, but if you are just looking for food it's very reasonable. The pictured 'revolution' hot dog and drink was about $10 before tip. American fusion has lots of options in the area, but this is a good contender. Only real complaint was the bathroom. You either get overpriced booze or you get rundown college bar bathrooms. Not both.
It’s way way way way to loud in here. Arrived on a Thursday about 4:45. Was surprised by the steak night service. The food was great and such a good deal.. however within the hour and a half my party was there it got ridiculously loud. ( we opted to leave without ordering more drinks) it got to the point we could barely hear each other at the table!!! Figure out a way to correct this, please. I called in yesterday to make a reservation for 15 for this weeks steak night, hoping it was a fluke, but the person on the phone could barely hear me and I could only hear all the noise in the background of the call. I decided on a different restaurant. I’ll try again, but only during slow daytime hours. Diners be aware. Either bring ear muffs or a loud horn… maybe both :/
Updated: I suggest going mid day - not during busier hours. I was given 4 tenders instead of the advertised 5 but our waiter was amazing and corrected it quickly; replacement tender looked and tasted undercooked. Got the Mac and cheese with pulled pork again and it was 30% fat and 70% meat. The honey mustard is more mustard than hunny but still good! Will still be coming regularly as it’s still fairly priced and the service is good :) Original: Mac and cheese is amazing, drinks are priced fairly.
Been passing this place for awhile now, dont be like me.... Went on a Friday night about 7 it was moderately busy there was plenty of room for more guest. I was by myself and didn't feel like sitting at the bar so I was seated at high top next to the windows enjoyed the game and drink a beer I was pretty impressed that the drafts are very inexpensive I decided to order a appetizer of homemade chips green chili and queso dip it was good I'd recommend letting it cool for a minute so rhe dip thickens up a bit after another beer or two I decided on a steak I had the ribeye with the crack mac and cheese with zucchini and yellow squash let me tell you that mac and cheese is for Real the steak was good too it was tender, a large portion, I ordered it rare I think next time I'll go with medium rare. My servers were on point Jake and Taylor they get props, attentive but not pushy. do yourself a favor stop in for a beer and catch a game I'll be back for sure
first time eating here. good for and service. for a place that boast to be a bar/pub, it sure is family friendly which is refreshing to see family with snack children eating together etc. we came on a Saturday during lunch time hence the reason we saw kids there. good portions for your buck as well. well definitely come back again
I always have a great time. I've been for crawfish night and.. they could be better. Lacking flavor and overcooked. I went for a Wednesday Singo night, and it was a blast! Definitely make sure to tip your servers good as you're occupying their tables for over an hour playing the game. They work hard and you can tell. The fried pickles, green beans are good. The beef fajita on the kitchen sink nachos is low quality so don't expect much. The macaroni n cheese, burgers, sliders, wings, and wraps are all delicious. When I come here I know to expect bar type quality food nothing fine dining. Still a fun spot to hang out.
First time I went for the drinks. This time we went for food and I was not disappointed. $2 Zeigen Bock is a great deal and they have great food offerings to pair. The wrap wasn't spectacular, but the chicken sandwich, and the 'healthy option' were all delicious and served hot. I'm not someone too concerned about Covid guidelines but neither the waiter nor the bartender were wearing masks so if this is something that worries you maybe stay away until Covid has largely subsided. If you're in Katy and looking for a place to grab a bite AND a drink this is certainly a consideration.
B/24/22 - lunch time. INCREDIBLE service from KENZIE. Great food recs. LOVED the Piggie Smalls giant sliders. Fries were perfection. Mac & cheese delicious and full of creamy flavor. Great beer pairing. Really chill and have great enough memories that I finally posted a review 2+ years later after finding a receipt. Cool indoor vibes.
Sports bars are my favorite places to dine. I like the casual atmosphere, American pub style grub, and the usually solid selection of beer. The situation is even better when the sports bar is close to my house and a prime example is Scholars and Scoundrels, one of Katy’s newest places for food, drink, and sports. Inside Scholars and Scoundrels guests will find a casual, non- pretentious setting for food, drinks, sports, and conversation. The U- shaped bar is located off to the side and the main dining area is split into two sections. Televisions are placed where you can see them, no matter where you might be seated, and they have a jukebox if you’re in the mood for tunes. Scholars and Scoundrels serves American pub food with a menu that consists of appetizers, burgers, steaks, wraps, sandwiches, tacos, soups and salads, and a few other items. We usually start our visit with a shared appetizer and my family’s favorite is the Kitchen Sink Nachos. You choose between beef or chicken fajita, which is then joined by chili, sriracha sour cream, green chili queso, avocado cream, and a few other assorted ingredients. This is a tasty and quite filling appetizer that could easily serve as a meal all by itself. Drinks are another important item at this sports bar and I like that the full service bar can mix up just about anything you like. They also have about 14 taps of beer and assorted cans and bottles of local and other craft brew, which is an added plus. Moving to the main course, there are several good options, but I am partial to the burgers. If I’m in the mood for a high- protein and veggie free burger, my first choice is the Bernie Mac. It consists of an angus beef patty topped with macaroni and cheese and bacon. It’s a sloppy, cheesy, meaty meal that will leave you feeling satisfied. They have several other burgers, too, and they are all quite filling and memorable. About the only issue I have had with Scholars and Scoundrels is the service. It has been inconsistent and during a recent visit, we couldn’t understand why it was taking so long to get served and then we discovered why: Our order ticket had been misplaced. To the restaurant’s credit, they did resolve the problem rather quickly and we were served in reasonable time. I’m hoping that the service problems are a simple result of growing pains and that they improve soon because I like everything else that this establishment offers. Sports bars are king in my book and Scholars and Scoundrels is a nice place to visit when you want to watch sports, sip on craft beer and cocktails, and munch on American grub. It’s close distance to my house and overall positive vibes will keep me and the family coming to Scholars and Scoundrels many times for the foreseeable future.
4 stars because the Mac & cheese is very dry & bland. The Declaration is a very, very good burger. The BBQ sauce is just amazing. The Bernie Mac wasn't great because of the Mac & cheese. The fried Mac & cheese balls were very dry & the noodles were hard & overcooked. The chips & queso is amazing! I love the queso Blanco. Perfectly salty & very thick. Oh! The ranch! Such a great ranch, we ended up taking some home.
It's a well lit sports bar/grill. The menu is large and the food is good albeit expensive. A beer, a Coke, a burger and beef tacos came to $26. It's only been open three months but had a decent sized crowd and this was on a Sunday afternoon. The waitresses we're attentive without being pushy.
Great place for lunch during the week. Went for a business lunch and the menu option were affordable and the portions were huge, esp for a lunch menu option. The whole vibe in the place was very busy yet felt familiar like i was a regular. I’ll definitely be back to try some other menu items that seemed enticing!
This place was busy when we got here. Good crowd. Seems to be a good place to hang out and watch a game. Staff is quick to get your order and they help each other to get food out to you. The burger I got was good, meat pattie had a nice charr taste but the bacon was a bit burnt and salty. Still a good burger though. I didn't mind the salty taste of it, I will come back here, their menu has something for everyone. Watch the game, have a drink, hang out for a bit.
This place was a favorite for a good burger. Unfortunately those days are probably long gone. $24.98 before tip for a basic cheeseburger and fries is tough to swallow. The burger was yummy and service was quick. I do appreciate management’s willingness to hear concerns as I voiced one during my visit and the reaction seemed to be genuine to them addressing it. I hope that is the case. Still a great place if the new prices are manageable within your budget.
Stopped in for the UH watch party (the Elite Eight game against Tennessee). Had a good time, service was friendly. Food was good. They were out of almost all of the craft beer. They had some good selections but again, they were out of almost everything. Good place to catch a game and they have some good food options. Nice vibe.
We took the boys to an attraction in the area, and chose this place to eat at afterwards. Never eaten here or heard of it. The Scoundrel Fires for the appetizer were delicious. Forgot to get a picture :-(. My wife got some kind of chicken tacos that she said were delicious. The rest of us got 1 of their burgers with fries. The burgers were good, I personally think they are lacking seasoning in the meat and was a little over cooked for my preference. Overall it was all good. We would definitely stop back by if we were in the area.
Went for brunch and there was a DJ which was very cool. Ordered a Bloody Mary which got lost some how. Eventually it showed up but was just okay. Not sure what mix that was used but it did not taste like Bloody Revolution which I like. The brunch sweet potato fries were fantastic and the wap tacos were amazing. I also order the hot chick sandwich (fried) which also got lost and came out almost too late. And unfortunately it was the worst option. The bread did not hold up, the crust fell off and there was almost no Buffalo sauce. On the bright side, the fries that came with the sandwich were very good. I will definitely return for the brunch fries and tacos.
Free comedy night. Food was ok service was good. Comedy was not so great but was free so can’t be too picky.
It's a solid 3 stars. The food is ok. The bar area is mostly regulars and the bartenders do absolutely nothing to stand out. The atmostphere is ok. It's clean. It's priced fairly. There is plenty of parking. It's safe for single ladies to go alone or in small groups, but it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit. I think of this place as a neighborhood bar with average cajun dishes. The moved to this location to get a bigger bar and accommodate more folks, so they must be doing something right in the 'local/neighborhood' category... but I haven't found anything to keep me coming back after three visits.
To be fair I was attending an out door 10 year jeep anniversary. So A Lot of people. It was prearranged. A bar back was available at the outside bar area. Finding wait staff to order even water was hard. We looked around for over 15 mins to just place an order. Our waiter tried her best to serve us. A lot of items were forgotten so there was much going back and fourth. The food it self felt like microwaveable meals were being made. The "to die for mac and cheese" was literally all but that. There was NO SEASONING of any kind used and watery (IMO) This was my 3rd time to eat there but food has sucked everytime. Drinks were good but do not order food.
Nachos were wack. Not actual cheese. Tasted like a Mayonnaise and BBQ mix. Chips were cooked in "old" cooking oil which makes them greasy and rancid. Not going back. At least not for nachos or Mac & cheese 😆 Update: second time around(not my decision) Ordered the spicy lemon pepper bone-in wings. They tasted undercooked with a very strong aftertaste.
We’ve been coming here for about five years and always loved it — it used to be one of our go-to spots. Unfortunately, since the ownership change a year or two ago, things just haven’t been the same. We’ve continued trying to support both locations, hoping things would turn around, but the quality has really declined. Our recent visits have included burnt food, incorrect orders, and extremely long waits — to the point where items we ordered were completely forgotten. We really want to keep supporting this place, but it’s getting harder each time.
This review is for the new location. Pictures are attached. Bear in mind, they may still be ironing out the details operationally. The owner was running a good show at the old location, and I’m confident that will ultimately be the case here. The food was ok - nothing spectacular today. My date’s chicken was a bit dry, and my burger sliders were average. They bring out a special ketchup with the fries, but if preferred, one may ask for regular ketchup, as well. The server’s cadence was off. We were being asked if we wanted a takeout container well before we were finished with our food. Additionally, the check was brought out way too early - making it appear as if they assumed we didn’t want dessert. It took them a while to even pick up and process the card once it was on the table. In short, some of the waitstaff need to be trained on cadence and monitoring tables without being intrusive. The environment can get very loud very quickly. It was decently loud when we went, and the restaurant was only at half capacity. I can only imagine what will happen if there is ever live music. The building design and materials contributes to this effect (look at the ceiling if you’re ever there). The outside bar looks like a good spot to relax when the weather is fair. It is very easy to go between the indoor dining area and the outside bar.
We were looking for a good burger spot and this veteran owned restaurant showed up in our Yelp! results, so we took a chance on it one Sunday afternoon. Let me start with the fact that they have a "Vouchers for Vets & 1st Responders" program where patrons can Pay It Forward towards the meal of a veteran who eats at the restaurant. I've never seen that before and it is truly amazing! I am an Army combat veteran who appreciates this! We happened to get to the restaurant at the end of DJ BRUNCH (11am-3pm) and it caught us off guard, because we didn't see it on Yelp!. No offense, but the seemingly conservative crowd, the DJ, and the rap music didn't seem to go together and, admittedly, it made me very, very anxious. It was loud and not at all what I expected. The DJ wrapped up her set soon after we sat down, which was a huge relief. On to the food! The menu was pretty entertaining, with comically named dishes, like the TUPORK SHAKUR TACOS. We ordered some Chips and Green Chile Queso as a starter, which came out with two metal platters like you'd see at a Renaissance fair. The homemade tortilla chips were pretty good, but unfortunately, the queso hardened within a few minutes of being on the table, so we were only able to enjoy a little bit of it, before the food came. For our entrees, I ordered a cheeseburger with tater tots and my girlfriend got one with sweet potato fries. The presentation was great! I mean, the bun with the name branded on it was cool. When we asked that our burgers be well done, we could here the lady at teh counter tell the cook, "I hate to do this to you, but...!" My burger was burned and dry, so it was not very enjoyable. I ALWAYS get my meat well done and this is the first restaurant to EVER burn my food like this. My tots were overcooked and hard. My girlfriend's burger was dry, but her sweet potato fries were OK. Maybe we'll try this place for other menu items. Maybe not. We enjoy restaurants that don't mind that we enjoy our meat thoroughly cooked, not burned! HOOAH!!!
It's really unfortunate how far this place has gone downhill since moving from the original location, which we went to for years. The atmosphere stinks compared to the old spot, the food isn't as good as it used to be, and the service has tanked. We've been longtime supporters of this place as veterans, supporting a veteran owned business. After the experience we had the last time we went, we won't be going back.
I know this place is going to be great. I've yet to try their first location, which I've heard is super good! I know this location is still ironing out the details, but I'm still going to review my personal experience. White cheese nachos appetizer: cheese wasn't hot or warm. The chips were delicious but nothing but broken pieces. The green salsa was not spicy, but it was flavorful. My husband's tacos tasted good. However, they need to fill those tacos more than just a spoonful and stop doubling up warmed up, straight out of the plastic tortilla bag. Who does that?!! I repeat, the corn tortillas came straight out of the plastic store bag. That was terrible. I ordered my steak "medium," and my steak came out rare & chewy, which was gross when it stretched, and I couldn't chew it. I spit it out twice (into napkins) & boxed it up to take home to my dog. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. The crack macoroni is boring. Absolutely NOTHING "crack" about it. Kraft macaroni out of a box, in my opinion. As for service, Carlos did his absolute best and went above and beyond. The tacos came out first and were cold, eaten, and gone before my meal came out. I did not appreciate that. No tea, soda was flat and straight out a 2 lt. bottle. My husband ordered a drink from the bar (I forgot), but it was DAMN GOOD! The place is nice. Major potential with a bar. There's also a bar outside with a sitting area. Nice chill area. Great for a group of friends. Fun music of all genres and not too loud. I feel everything was overpriced, but only because of the quality of the meal we received. It just didn't sit well with me.
On Thursday, April 3rd, I went for steak night, only to be told they don’t offer it. The manager was rude, repeatedly insisting, ‘I showed you the price of the steaks,’ and claimed he’d never heard of steak night. I used to love this place, but now I suspect they’re struggling for business. It’s really a shame.
The crawfish is ok and they have good specials that make it worth it. The service is the slowest in Houston. They’re nice but incredibly slow and inattentive. Lots of people wander around like they don’t know what to do but you can’t get your waiter or waitress to even bring a check. The bathrooms were both filthy which is disturbing-that’s enough to ensure I don’t come back.
Wow! Such a bad experience with the owner in regards to honoring what’s on the website for Steak night. He actually argued with me about the price of the steak that was posted on the website. The sever agreed to honor the $17.99 price but was billed the full price and the owner refused to honor what his staff agreed to. The potatoes were cold. The forks were bent. He was a total jerk! The food was meh, the service was okay and the owner was the worst!!!!!! Skip this place. I fully expect him to reply because he was so argumentative. The bathrooms was gross with parts of the toilet on the floor.
Owner was very rude! Arrived around 6:20. It took 35 minutes to be waited on even when I stated I knew what Ianyway. ($2.99 crawfish). Around 7:40 I asked to pay for my drinks and just leave due to not recieved crawfish when others arriving after me recieved there.m crawfish. Owner asked me what did I expected with $2.99 prices. I told him for fair treatment. I do not mind paying the price for great customer services and this time the owner failed horribly. The waiter on the other hand did listen and understood what I was saying. I will stick with paying higher prices over rude customer service any day. The owner need to take tips from his employees.
I came to celebrate my birthday, ordered around 7:30. By 8:30 the food started to taste disgusting. The crab legs and crawfish tasted like soap and we ordered the spicy and they came plain. It took forever for our server Rachel to do anything. We asked for a refill and it took her 15 mins to come back with it. We could see our waiter just dancing around by the kitchen. Very unprofessional. It’s a great place to hang out at, has outside seating, however I do not recommend getting any of the sea food.
Service was terrible from the beginning. Server barely came to our table. Didn’t ring up one of the orders. Every one of the 6 entrees we got came out at a different time. Had to flag server down to tell him we were missing food. He blamed the kitchen immediately. Dueling pianos were great but that’s about it.
Food was tasty and service was good, but I was pretty appalled to see a business not enforcing a mask requirement. Bar was packed, lots of people not wearing masks. Not a great look from the S&S team. Apparently mask wearing would be stomping on freedoms, but that shows how little this business cares about the most vulnerable in their community. Would not recommend this place if you care about social duty and responsibility to those around you. Some people just don’t get it.
First time to this place was terrible party of 7 brought out our food 3 separate times my daughter finally got her food when we were ready to leave. I ordered my burger with out peppers they put a lot of them I told the waitress and she said I told him no peppers she didn’t offer to make it right. As many TVs that they have we weren’t able to watch the baseball game. Lousy service!
I’ve never been more disappointed in my life. This place really messed up by changing everything on their menu.
Ordered door dash including loaded nachos. Received a box of chips and a small container of lukewarm meat. Nothing else. Contacted restaurant and they credited $6. The meal nachos are $20.
I used to arrive at this place very often with my family and friends. This is definitely a disaster, the bar service and its waiters are disgusting. They attend with all the bad activities, angry as if one were going to ask for food and drinks, I remind them that my account has always been paid for, I stopped going for a while because I thought they had changed their administration but it is still a place that sucks. especially their people who attend at the bar, with their angry face and I hope you close this wonderful place soon.
DJ was great in general we will definitely come back and see him again but the new menu was absolutely confusing and me and my husband were missing the old menu the pizza was soggy and his burger was way to greasy but ik what these reviews do to server i want reiterate that DJ service was out of this world he not only served us but was talking and creating a connection my husband gave him his number to go out sometime we loved his personality and his creative flunk definitely recommend as a server
AVOID!!!!!! Disappointing experience, especially for the price. The tacos were underwhelming and the cilantro tasted old. Fries arrived about 10 minutes after the burger. I had to remind staff twice about my beer, and it didn’t arrive until after I finished eating. I’m sure this place can be good on a normal day, but Saturday lunch was a mess. AVOID!!! Service and kitchen timing were fast-food level at full-service prices. Kid’s meal came last after everyone else finished their meals. Two taco plates, a burger, fries, a kids’ meal, and one draft beer came out to $75, and it did not feel worth it. Wendy’s and Burger King down the road will give you better food, service, and value.
I'll start by saying that our bartender, Emma, was fantastic. This review is by NO MEANS a reflection of her. With that said, the owner decided to roll out a new menu a week ago, without warning. Not only did he decide to "change it up", but he removed the prices from the actual menu so that when you get your check at the end, it's a surprise... not in the good way. The food was sub par, compared to what we charged. When my husband ate a single sweet potato fry, he found a rather long hair INSIDE of the fry. When the manager came out to "apologize", sure he offered to remove an item AFTER we had already paid, but proceeded to blame Emma for the hair. No need to go back for food.
I’m sitting at the bar as I write this review. I walked in and was ignored by the bartender, a young white blonde lady, while she talked to all the regulars and some guys next to me flirting with her. She didn’t ask what I wanted to drink, if I wanted a water, nor offer me a menu, just completely ignored me. It took another employee to acknowledge me and give me a menu, and ask if I wanted a drink after waiting for quite sometime. While, the other employee was making my drink, the young lady I mentioned earlier finally came over after talking to everyone and asked if I wanted anything. After I told her the other lady already helped me, she walked over to the other lady and said “sorry”. I’m not sure if she just didn’t want to serve me or what it was, or why she apologized to the other worker and not me. The other reviews about “inattentive staff” and “long wait times for things” are absolutely correct, unless you are a regular. Even when I ordered my food and the young lady handed it to me, she didn’t ask if I wanted another drink, even though mine was almost empty. Tip, you don’t get new or more regulars if you ignore your new customers. Especially on non-busy nights like tonight. I’ll never comeback here, they don’t treat all their customers equal, and it’s a shame.
We were so disappointed. We used to visit this restaurant often when it was in the shopping center near Pin Oak — the service, atmosphere, and food were always great. Yesterday, we decided to try their new location near the mall, but unfortunately, the experience was completely different. I ordered the chimi churri wrap, which turned out to be a greasy burrito filled mostly with white rice, a few black beans, and literally just four small cubes of chicken — no avocado as listed on the menu. My husband and son both ordered the OG burger, which they like pretty plain but with ketchup. When the food arrived, our server apologized and said they had run out of ketchup. What restaurant runs out of ketchup? Especially with an H-E-B just down the road! We knew fries were an extra charge, but we didn’t expect them to be $6 per side. My youngest ordered a kids’ slider, which clearly stated it came with fries and a drink. However, we were charged for the drink. When I pointed it out, the server insisted that all drinks and sides were extra. I explained that the kids’ menu specified fries and a drink were included, but she insisted; I asked her to please bring me a menu. She left for a few minutes, then returned without a menu but with a revised check — she said I was right, the drink was included. Still, there was no apology. Overall it was a bad experience. Sadly, after being longtime fans, we won’t be going back.
