Couldn’t wait for this place to open! My husband and I went last week and yes they were busy but it was dinner time and they haven’t been open very long so we knew it would be packed. We were greeted when we walked in and the overall service was great-really didn’t wait that long at all! I ordered the Shrimp Diablo plate which was amazing! Margaritas were really good, great atmosphere and I had no problem with the prices 🙌🏼 100% this is my new go to spot near home :)
My family brought me here for lunch while I was in town visiting and I am so glad they did! It was delicious. Lots of unique menu items that I was sad I didn't get to try them all. I had the mango habanero margarita with a tajin rim and the brisket enchiladas. The portions are the perfect size and everything I tried from everyone else at the table was just as good. I highly recommend stopping in for a taste!
I was in the mood for some good Mexican food and came across Jesse’s. The building has been renovated and looks great. The service was excellent and it wasn’t very crowded on a Thursday evening. The prices are reasonable and the food is top notch! I ordered the Dos combo which came with a chicken enchilada covered in sour cream sauce, a beef enchilada covered in queso cheese and some red sauce which was really good. It also came with a tamale which was delicious. If you’re in the mood for something different definitely give Jesse’s a try you won’t be disappointed. Next visit I’m getting there carne asada.
We are locals first time we visited was on Valentine’s Day. Naturally it was packed but we were seated within 15 mts party of 4. The service is outstanding friendly, engaging and made good recommendations. The food came out hot and plated beautifully. We have been several times the standard has remained high. You have to try the tostadas you get one of each pork, chicken, beef they are really good! We are going tonight matter of fact.
This is our go to for Mexican Food. Menu selection is great, offers entrees more unique to true Mexican than found at other restaurants. Staff is always always friendly, owner Jessie makes it a point to greet customers either when entering the restaurant or at your table. Additionally his Assistant Manager Netty (sp?) responds to customers just as Jessie. Overall the staff is friendly and personable and greets customers by name. We truly recommend.
First impression - Welcoming staff, nice atmosphere and layout, great location on the Kaufman square, the menu offers tex-mex classics to creative new flavor combinations and an interesting variety of cocktails. Experience - the very best ceviche I have ever tasted! Hands down. I also enjoyed the brisket enchiladas which were stuffed with mashed potatoes and served topped with perfectly cooked brisket, sauteed vegetables on a delicious cream sauce. I can hardly wait to return and try the other choices.
I had Tortilla Soup in a huge bowl, It was delicious! The parking was easy, the atmosphere was South Western and homey. Service was a bit slow but was friendly. Looks like all the locals love it!
We have enjoyed eating here several times in the past. We recently attended a 35th wedding anniversary celebration here. Our waiter was proficient, very attentive and overall top notch. Locally owned and operated which is a big plus.
Great food. Great service. Staff is courteous and very good at their jobs. The restaurant is a bit outdated and the "Happy Birthday" routine is a bit obnoxious
Everyone was impressed with their meals two mentioned how tender the flank steak was. I had a brunch item (on a Saturday) that was also amazing. Never had to look for a waiter for a water, chip or salsa refill - very attentive.
Best restaurant in the City of Kaufman. Hands down. Great food and great service. Highly recommend.
AMAZING food and service. Best fajitas I have ever eaten - some pretty great chips and salsa too. I always look forward to eating here!
Food is 10/10 Service is SO good Jesse always takes great care of us when we come in!
My personal favorite in Kaufman. House margaritas are always on point and I have never had a plate I didn't thoroughly enjoy. My favorite "Jesse's Special "
My Husband and I enjoy coming here! The food/drinks are always perfect! & The staff is great!
When they say finding a GEM when you least expect it. This restaurant is that. My family and I were very impressed from the minute we walked in to the warm welcome until our last bite. Cash who was our server was amazing. Very friendly and attentive to our needs. Food was delicious and presented well. The taste was flavorful and exactly what we needed. Thank you and we appreciate all of the friendly staff.
Once I found this place, we’ve returned multiple times! The food is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is inviting and warm, making it a great spot for both casual outings and special occasions. It's busy, but in a way that feels lively and vibrant rather than overwhelming. Despite the crowd, we never felt rushed or ignored. It’s clear the staff knows how to manage the flow without sacrificing the quality of service. As a family-friendly restaurant, it's great to see a place where both adults and kids can feel at ease. The kids' menu great has options, and the environment is accommodating for families without being too noisy or chaotic. What really made the experience stand out, though, was our waitress Ana. From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a big smile and maintained that warm, friendly demeanor throughout our meal. She was attentive without hovering, ensuring we had everything we needed while making sure the kids were well taken care of. Her positive energy was infectious, and it made our visit feel all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for anyone in the mood for delicious food, great service, and an overall welcoming atmosphere!
Pretty good spot. Portions are a bit small for the money, but we left full, so I won't hold that against them. The fajitas had good flavor. The beef was tender, chicken juicy, and the shrimp... Precooked frozen with seasoning dumped on it. Everything else was good, salsa unique... Queso delicious. Our waitress was pretty good. I did knock one star because at least five or six staff looked right at us when we walked in, but it took a good ten minutes for us to be ackntand sat. (They weren't busy). Overall.pretty good place I would recommend if you want some texmex.
I've been here quite a few times and tried several dishes and all of them have been delicious. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice.
While in town for a long weekend getaway, my wife and I stopped here for try their fare. We ordered the both ordered the carne asada. Both of our dishes arrived as ordered and were phenomenal. Steak was perfectly cooked, perfectly portioned and delicious. Served with a copious side of rice, beans and tortillas, Jesse’s definitely lived up to the hype. The service was great 5/5 and the bathrooms were clean. 5/5 will return!
10/10 recommended. We come here so often that I even included Jesse's in my vows! "I promise to never turn down a date to Jesse's on the condition I get at least one margarita" I'm not kidding. Any chance we get to go out to eat 9/10 times we choose Jesse's! The staff is incredible & I don't think I've ever gone to a restaurant where the owner has been there EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. to greet you at the door. I cannot stress enough how wonderful this restaurant is.
I cannot praise Jesse's highly enough. It is hands down the best reasturaunt in kaufman and possibly in the county. The food was full of flavor and fresh. Delivered quickly and the portions were very generous. The salsa was spicy, the queso was creamy, the meats were tender and juicy. Everything was delicious. Anna was our waitress and she was attentive and on top of our drinks. She even had menu recommendations and let my wife try a sauce before ordering it to be sure she would like it. Some of the best service I have ever had. Me and my wife got our own meals, drinks, queso, and shared a dessert and still got out of there for less than 60 bucks. We will be coming here regularly for as long as the service and value is at this incredible level.
Jesse's Special is a hit! The grilled steak is cooked to perfection, melting seamlessly into the creamy cheese enchiladas. Paired with flavorful beans and rice, it's a satisfying meal that's both comforting and delicious. A standout dish I'd recommend to all! Back again. Tried the Parrillada at Jesse’s Fajitas n Ritas and it was spot on. The grilled meats were tender and well-seasoned, complemented by the roasted peppers and onions. It’s a straightforward, tasty dish that hits the spot every time. Another reason to keep coming back to Jesse’s.
1st time here today 2/24/24 Immediately got seated, no waiting Nice seating & very spacious great cozy atmosphere. Customer service is over the top, very attentive drinks are excellent !! I ordered the chicken fajitas, street corn & queso is amazing !!! The salmon is awesome as well Thank you Jesse & entire staff for your hospitality we will return ⭐🇲🇽⭐
Great food, drinks & atmosphere! Friendly service. We are here probably at least once a week or so!
Location was a awesome idea. Start your experience off with a cup or bowl of queso. If not the salsa will suffice. The enchiladas are excellent. Fajitas have great flavor. Wife had comment about chicken being over charred but still tasted great. Wait staff was friendly & attentive. Be sure to try the street corn.

We went to a birthday party here, and it was in the back room…I didn’t know they had a back room!!! The food was great, the service was great!!! Did I say the food was great? Well it needed to be said again because IT WAS AMAZING!!! The fajitas…WOW!!!
The food was great. We shared a bowl of queso that was excellent. I had a burger that was surprisingly delicious (for a tex-mex place) and my wife's chicken quesadilla was both huge and one of the best I've ever had.
Really good food that is cooked to order. Everyone agreed that the queso is one of the best that we've had. I've tried the quesidillas and the double bogie burger and the were both delicious. Warning: The margaritas are STRONG. This is my wife's new favorite Mexican restaurant so I'm sure we will be back often. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the strength of the margaritas...

Food was good. Except if you want cheese for the Fajitas...you have to ask for it and will be charged $3. Never had fajitas where cheese was not provided. All in all a good place.
The negative reviews on here are quite nit-picky. I’ve never had bad service. Never had bad food. I prefer Jesse’s over any of the other places in town. The fajitas are the great. Lots of flavor and tender. The brisket tacos are also very good. The chips are a tad mediocre and you don’t get much salsa, but the salsa itself is great. I’ve never been disappointed.
Thisnplace was very tasty! FRESH WARM Chips and Salsa to order. Flavorful starter soups and appetizers. The fajitas here are delicious. Plenty of protein options. The staff and waitress les were very attentive, not even allowing the salas to run low before them coming by and refilling. I had the Carne Asada laying on top of an bed of sweet onions with a serano chill on top as garnish. My Date had the amazingly flavorful Salmon enchiladas. Definitely a MUST order plate! We both shared the CUP Chicken Soup. Came with real chunks of chicken and hearty thick-cut veggies. A must try if you're in the area!!
The food was good. The price was adequate. The service was okay/ acceptable. The atmosphere was bland with white with black light fixtures and no art on the walls. Instead of ramekins for bowls for salsa, you get disposable to-go style portion cups for it which couples with the non-linen one-use napkins. I would have thought a new place would have done a better job at making the essentials more upscale but this is not the case.
My son, husband and I stopped in for the first time today. We were greeted warmly right away and sat down. Chips and salsa were brought out promptly and also server was there in no time to get us drinks and we ordered queso. The salsa was very good, the queso was well queso, nothing special about it and nothing terrible. I did not however care for the chips much. It seems as if they may purchase the cheapest bag of bulk chips, and put them in a warmer. They are pretty thick and coarse grained. Not a big deal, just not our preference in chips. My son ordered The Birdie a chicken sandwich, he's a big chicken sandwich guy. He has gotten many chicken sandwiches over the years and in many different states. He said out of all he's ever eaten he would give it a 7 out of 10. Pretty good praise from him, he's not easy to please. My husband ordered chicken flautas with street corn. He said the flautas were good and the street corn was pretty good but missing the char grill on the corn and Tajin. The server brought him some Tajin when he requested it and he said it was much better. I ordered Lexi's pasta, I requested no shrimp because I do not like seafood. The dish was fantastic, the pablano cream sauce was very good, combined with the chicken and veggies it was fantastic overall. The sausage was well, sausage. For me the dish does not need the sausage, but it was good. Our server was very attentive and nice. She delivered everything promptly. Overall we really enjoyed our experience. Kaufman has lots of Mexican food restaurants. We prefer Jaliscos but Jessie's offers such a variety and different selections it's not just traditional tex-mex fare. I think we will be returning in the future and try out some of the other dishes they offer.

Food was great drink like tea $5 each that is little high. Second time there server not to good. No questions asked gave us the highest. Better customer service and communication. He got a good tip oops got to do better
The first feel was the place is definitely small. It could be they just opened and are super busy. We eat at Rio Lerma in Forney quite a bit so the food was as expected. The food and drinks are great . Ordered the same thing veggies enchiladas they are the best I've had. The reason I put 3 stars was because of the prices. Like I mentioned before the food and service was great but definitely higher than Rio Lerma so my advice unless you want to see the restaurant you're better off going to Rio lerma and save the extra bucks the food and service is just as good there.
The food was acceptable. Servings are not large. Margaritas were good but very very expensive for what you got. Service we got was good. The place is very pleasant. Note: I have previously had a great meal here. Have been here about 4 times and the food has been average with one meal that was excellent and filling, the shrimp tacos.
My wife and I have been to Jesse’s numerous times and have always loved it. Their salsa is fantastic and fajitas are always good. But last night we wanted to try something different and shouldn’t have. I ordered the chicken fajita tacos and was sorely disappointed. Literally two small tortillas with a small amount of chicken in them, that was it, nothing else. My wife ordered a chicken fajita salad and barely had any chicken it. The waitress was very friendly but when asked for more napkins, she forgot twice, drink and salsa refills weren’t going to happen. Could have just been an off night I guess. Next time we’ll stick with the fajitas and get the order to go

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 — Street Tacos Missed the Mark Stopped into Jesse’s Fajitas N Rita’s in Kaufman for lunch and ordered their Street Tacos. Honestly? Not worth it. For $12+ during lunch, I expected at least the basics — rice, beans, something to round out the plate. Instead, I got six tiny street-sized tacos with barely any meat, barely any cilantro or onion, and almost no sauce. The tortillas tasted and felt like they’d been microwaved straight from a package — they were sticking together and had that unmistakable pre-packaged texture. Portion-wise and quality-wise, it just didn’t hit the mark. At this price point? Do better. This was my first visit, and honestly, not a great first impression. I’ll give them another chance in the future and update my review if things improve, but as of now… disappointed.

Our first time here. First we got seated without a menu. Server came asked for drinks and if we wanted queso or guacamole. We hadn’t even seen a menu yet to know what the appetizers were. Went ahead and ordered queso and it was cold. The server brought our toddler, children adult size cups not a cup with a lid. Took forever for our food to come out. I got the brisket tacos and the brisket was very very dry. My son got beef enchiladas with I don’t know what kind of red sauce you would call that it was very bland and had no flavor. The only thing that tasted decent were my granddaughters beef fajita kids taco. Then we sat there and sat there and waited, and the server never came back and we hadn’t even gotten our check yet went up to the front and stood there. The server looked right at us and turned around and went to the kitchen. Finally, he came out took my son‘s meal off because he returned it because that’s how bad it was and we paid. I will never go back there.
