The "Ron" sandwich(with egg and kimchi) is what I always look forward to as my first meal back in civilization after camping in the Adirondacks. Don't miss the maple latte! Love this place!
Old Mountain Coffee takes the cafe concept to new heights. It’s clear that each of their unique menu items is crafted with love and care. I ordered the turkey panini and local maple latte and was totally blown away. The panini is prepared with handmade pine-nut pesto and sautéed apple slices and is a splendid combination of flavor. Their local maple latte is indescribable, with a smooth and satisfying finish. Definitely worth checking this place out if you’re Keene Valley looking for a bite.
Just fantastic. We are always hoping to have a cup of great coffee in the mornings and now we've found it. The breakfast sandwich is outstanding and with beer on tap, OMC is going to be a regular must-stop every time we go by.
The egg sandwiches are so good. Real Drip Coffee excellent too!! The place is a must for visiting Keene Valley. Would love to come back for more!!
My favorite way-more-than-coffee shop ever. Maple latte and mocha are so perfect, never too sweet but full of flavor. The creative pizza night creations (chickpea tikka masala OMG) are amazing and super yum. Lovely people, lovely place!
Such a gem in the ADK area. Good coffee, delicious pastries, and The Ron breakfast sandwich was everything a girl could dream of. Fair prices for the quality of everything as well.
Awesome vegetarian sandwich with local produce. One of the best cortado coffee. Nice relax service and ambiance.
Best coffee in the Adirondacks, they use Counter Culture beans. Great selection of craft beers and delicious bakery items. Perfect stop on your way in and out of the Adirondacks!
My husband and I stopped here while visiting the Adirondacks. We ended up coming back every morning while staying in the next town over. The lattes were incredible and the service was quick and efficient
Great food. I especially liked “The Ron”-Sandwich made with sour dough bread, egg, kimchi and chili sauce. Very unique flavors for a sandwich, an absolute delight.
We enjoyed some great vegan options on our two visits: two different vegan sandwiches, a vegan blueberry muffin, and a vegan oat cookie.
The best of the best! OMC’s peppy team serves up such tremendous fare — the perfect pre- or post-hike spot — just minutes from trails! Carefully-sourced, expertly-prepared coffee, and yummy pastries, sandwiches and craft beer! Taco Mondays and Pizza Saturdays with specials like Strawberry Sriracha! Yummm! ADK visitors and locals alike are so fortunate to have a place run with this much care. Love it!
Had a great lunch here after hiking Giant Mountain. Cold brew was delicious and we enjoyed a tempeh rueben and the ron sandwich. Awesome beer selection too!
Sweet little spot that offers everything I hope for in a cafe - good coffee, a small menu that offers staples plus some creative variations, and fast & friendly service. Even gluten free bread for the sammies! What a gem.
Amazing coffee and food! Loved the Jackrabbit latte and the kimchi breakfast sandwich. The bagels and crossaints were also delish.
Great coffee. And great cookies! Their kitchen closes an hour before closing time so take note if that.
This place is fantastic. Unexpected great quality of food ! Delicious daily veggie soup and incredible flat feta/tomato bread . Cozy atmosphere. Good choice of coffee )
Love this place- I visit the Adirondacks once a year and OMCC is a must. Their coffee & breakfast sandwiches are delicious.
I’ve been wanting to stop here for years on our way back from camp. I finally did, and the latte that I bought was fantastic! So much better than any other coffee shop in the area. I’m glad I stopped in and will definitely be back soon.
Delicious coffee every time and they have an excellent contact-free system! A staple of our trip every time we start our drive back to NYC from Lake Placid!
Local coffee shop, a perfect pit stop before you hit the high peaks. They have milk alternatives for dairy sensitive folks. I recommend their maple latte.
Great coffee, sandwiches and pastries, and some interesting beers and kombuchas as well! BTL sandwich was top notch!
I rarely think about a sandwich and coffee I've had, anticipating the next time I can have it. The Ron and the turmeric latte were so stinkin good though, my wife and I were converts after 1 order.
Amazing breakfast sandwich! We hit this joint up after hiking Roostercomb. Excellent service, delicious food! Very friendly staff. They deserve the big 5.0. Will be back again!
I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a Ruben as well as a dirty chai (double shot espresso) and all were very tasty. Priced fairly and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I’d highly recommend after a long hike or if your just passing through!
My first time going to place itself, but I always support them at the weekly Sunday Farmers market at Marcys Field. Incredible iced coffees, last Sunday I tried the iced caramel coffee to die for , this morning I got the Chai latte very special. And the Incredible banana 🍌 muffin, and a delicious lemon 🍋 ginger scone! I will be back soon!!
My delicious cup of Earl Grey by Art of Tea was hand-filled by the caring barista. It was a most aromatic, floral, and smooth treat.
Extraordinary experience. Outstanding Maple latte with perfectly brewed espresso. Breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon, cheese, spinach) was great with a toasted and buttered bagel. It's pricey, but worth the cost.
Awesome little coffee shop we stumbled on after a hike on Giant’s Nubble. Excellent coffee (I had the Maple Latte), with a fun selection of food and beer. Super friendly staff that suggested we hike Baxter Mountain nearby, where we got our favorite photos of our trip.
The Reuben on Rye bread was amazing. Stopped on the way to Adirondack Nature Preserve. They have a nice system in place for the pandemic. Order either from your phone or at window and they bring it out to your car. Not a coffee drinker, but the Tea I ordered was very good.
This place has amazing coffee. It is run by nice people and food is delicious. Blueberry muffin was filled by thousand berries. Hikers, you cannot miss oportunity to stop and have some more pleasure!
Pretty cool and chill little place! The Breakfast Burrito is incredible and super worth it!! Perfectly seasoned and scrumptious! Hot coco was bomb! Very enjoyable! Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookie was excellent! Made for a solid breakfast pre-Saranac kayaking. Strong covid policies! Nice bumper stickers, Saratoga Chocolate co and other little items! Cup of Jo was STRONG.
Hands down the best Chai Latte!! Coming from Colorado, this was the best Chai I've had in a while. Great service and atmosphere, very welcoming and tranquil.
So thankful to have a place like this in a Keene, great food and great coffee puts a lot of spots in the nearby towns to shame. I wish they’d carry noon mark pie slices when the diner is closed but hey.. not trying to move mountains.
Steve’s muffins and bagels are the best in town! Not only is the food good the staff is so friendly and you feel so welcome! Definitely worth stopping by any day but for sure stop by on Pizza night!!
I think 4.8 is kind of low for the place. I had the best gluten free egg sandwich and coffee. Really top notch. I really like the service , the food, the coffee. The day after a hike this place really hits the spot.
We found Old Mountain Coffee to be a special little coffee shop in the heart of the high peaks. Upon stopping in this morning for an amazing cup of coffee, we were greeted with knowledgeable recommendations of a variety of hikes in the area. The cinnamon buns are perfection. I will be adding OMC to my places to stop when I visit Keene!
Awesome little spot on the way home from Lake Placid for breakfast and coffee. A bit expensive, but well worth it. Vegan and gluten free friendly. This is our 2nd time here, and we hope to be back again when in the area.
VERY good espresso drinks with delish specials and solid standards. Happy to adjust things to your taste/caff level. Food is great fuel with some of the few healthy-ish options around. Kimchi is 👌
Went to both posts and both made great coffees!! Baristas made a proper flat white, & had a cheddar scallion scone which was very yummy. (Not really the consistency of an English scone, but still very tasty). Would definitely come back for more!
This place has been my lifeline during quarantine. Great coffee, fresh baked bagels, egg sandwiches, and yummy other treats daily. They are also always SO friendly and accommodating there which seems to be a rarity nowadays. Great service and would definitely recommend as your go-to coffee shop in the ADK.
Went here two days in a row! Had a cappuccino, maple latte, espresso, and americano- everything was delicious and the staff was so friendly! Perfect to grab before heading to hike in Keene.
Kind, friendly, welcoming staff. Cozy atmosphere. Third time here and coffee is always amazing. Ordered a breakfast sandwich this time which was also very good. Will absolutely be back!
Best coffee for miles! Food is excellent too! A few vegan options on the menu, an added bonus. Be prepared to pay for your coffee and meal here, as it’s a bit pricey- but well worth it.
The coffee is good, and the food excellent. Had a wonderful carrot muffin that was moist and so flavourful, and the chocolatine was like a chocolate bar wrapped in pastry. The staff were super friendly. Great place to grab your breakfast.
Our drinks and food were phenomenal. I highly recommend the jackrabbit latte and a sandwich on an everything bagel. The pastries are really something special. Don't miss out on this place. The atmosphere is busy, buy chill. We'll be back!
The Ron, the garden, a classic, 2 grilled cheese sandwiches paired with ice lattes with a divine selection of syrups to enjoy is what my family ordered. It was truly amazing and I’m enjoying every bite.
Bought a regular drip coffee and a breakfast sandwich with bacon and avocado on farmhouse bread, bread was griddled to perfection, crispy thick cut bacon, & avocado throughout the entire sandwich, coffee was as good as some of the best coffee shops I’ve been too. This place is a gem.
This place makes the best baked goods, best coffee, and the best service. There breakfast sandwiches are some of the best ones I’ve ever had, a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. OMG IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! I would 100% recommend it to everyone! Stop by this place and get a coffee if your in Keene it will be worth it. Also Saturday’s they make some amazing pizza’s, with the normal pizza flavors and the most elaborate and best special pizzas that are different every week!
The fact that my breakfast sandwich had both a perfectly cooked egg inside, and amazingly tasty bread, would be enough for me to come back... But the latte was excellent as well. Really cute little place (I wish seating was open behind the store!), really good food/drink, really nice people.
Best tasting coffee I've had in a long time. Three of us all got the egg sandwich on sourdough and agree that it was outstanding. We will stop there every time we go to Lake Placid for sure.
Wonderful little coffee place in the heart of the Adirondacks (Keane Valley). They have a good amount of food options to get you ready for any trails your hiking that day. The coffee is good, and they also have a lot of options for those with dietary restrictions.
LOVE old mountain coffee company! Great local place to stop on your way in/out of Lake Placid. My boyfriend and I stopped in this weekend to grab a quick breakfast before we headed out climbing. We decided on the breakfast burrito. It was a lot bigger than we expected (we can’t complain!!) and was delicious!! Definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting or passing through the area!
Great food and great staff. The avocado toast, bagel, and burrito were perfect. We had fresh croissants that were delicious as well. We will definitely be making this a regular stop when we are in the area.
This place is fantastic! The staff is friendly and knows their stuff. I had a maple oat milk latte and a multigrain egg & cheese sandwich with tomato and spinach. Everything was heavenly. Some other noteworthy items include their delicious “mountain breads” which are baked fresh daily and a great selection of loose leaf teas. Great place to get a boost before or after a long day on the road or the mountains!
What a great place! Stopped in this new place in Keene Valley on way out of town for bagel and coffee. I literally can't remember the last time I had a bagel as fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked as here! (didn't get to ask them, but I'm certain they are making their own). Coffee was great too (Counter Culture roaster it off NC). Super friendly service as well. I will be making this place a regular stop in Keene Valley
We visited twice and had some delicious coffee drinks. The maple latte and the cortado tasted great. The homemade cinnamon bun was large and delicious. It could win the international cinnamon bun award. The muffins were spot on too, especially the chocolate pumpkin muffin...it stayed in one piece and didn’t crumble apart. The staff is friendly and the cafe is peaceful. They opened recently in December. We will come by every time we’re on the High Peaks scenic byway!
Best coffee shop in Keene Valley! Ok ok, only coffee shop in Keene but let's get real it's THE BEST! Lattes are always in point and the baked goods are incredible. (It's the raspberry turnover or oatmeal cookies for me!) Staff is always lovely, new local artists are always featured on the walls. Great views in every direction. A must stop in Keene / on your way to Lake Placid.
Friendly service, great coffee and delicious food. *I’m obsessed with the raspberry/cream cheese turnovers!* They support local artists by hosting revolving exhibits of their works for purchase, games and craft evenings for the kiddies, and pizza and holiday themed dinners. If you need a spot to spend the day working on your laptop, it’s here. Between the customers and staff, you’ll always find a welcoming smile and a informative local to chat with.
Fantastic place to stop along your route to or from Lake Placid. Or anytime you're in the neighborhood. Coffee is superb in quality. Their regular brew had pour over flavor and depth. Nice variety of eats too (like focaccia breads!) Selection of beers available as well.
We stop by every time we drive through Keene heading south through the ADK. I got the fall pumpkin coffee with dark chocolate. It was AWESOME. The only downside to this place is that I don't live down the street so I could go regularly.
The only coffee shop that I have ever loved so much. Got a cold brew, which was good. But, the CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE was 😍😍😍. They didn't have any veggie sandwich but the lady was pretty nice and customized one for me and it turned out to be quite delicious. Can't emphasize enough that the cookie was amazing.
We're kind of coffee snobs and oh, my this coffee! The dark roast is phenomenal, definitely worth a stop. Pair it with an almond croissant and welcome to heaven! The staff super nice too, and even accommodated a quick change on our end (my husband tasted my coffee and immediately wanted the same). They are busy (for obvious reasons), so don't come in a hurry. Worth the wait though.
This place was phenomenal. They have a bunch of options (craft beer). I ordered a caramel latte which I wasn’t a fan of, the taste did not resemble caramel, it was very dark. My mother ordered the Jack rabbit and that was delicious! We both ordered the Turkey sandwich, it was huge! Well made, flavored popped, I enjoyed it so much. Employees super friendly and professional. Highly recommend!
This a small place with GREAT coffee selections. Order at counter for take-out or inside seating. The staff is friendly, and prices are reasonable. We stopped for a coffee break during our trip to the Lake Placid area. Pastries and cookies were available, but we didn't have any. My son says they have the best cookies.
Nice little coffee shop in Keene, easy to find and some parking, but the lot was almost full when we arrived. Menu has food and tons of beverages, we went with the cold brew. Staff was very friendly and ground up to-go beans which was nice. Some seating inside and outside. Coffee is delicious! Will definitely be back
Got a caramel latte with oat milk before our hike from Old Mountain Coffee Co. and I think it is probably one of the best caramel lattes I've ever had. SO GOOD. My husband got a black coffee and enjoyed it as well. We brought our dog and I sat outside with her while my husband ordered our to go drinks. This picture is actually taken from the porch of our inn. We stayed at the Rooster Comb Inn which is a two minute walk from Old Mountain Coffee Co.
Friendly staff, clean space, plenty of parking, organic food options. Large space for Seating next door. Reasonable price considering quality and quantity. The breakfast burrito with avacado and Sriracha is perfect fuel before or after a hike. Delicious Dirty Chai Late. I'm saving my blueberry chia oatmeal bowl for energy after my snowy hiking adventures. #supportlocal
I'm happy with my experience here. I was not sure about it initially because of SubAlpine coffee that used to be here. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they use the same coffee which is from counterculture coffee, which provide quality beans as a base for all of their coffee drinks. The place looks almost identical to what is did under old management and their old name. The braked goods are still delicious and I was happy with the coffee.
Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The bagels were toasted until they were very crunchy throughout. A little too much toasting for me but it was still a tasty stop on the way to the mountain!
Excellent coffee, the cold brew is out-of-this-world ... But .. their Covid protocol, their obnoxious attitude absolutely stinks! If the hiking wasn't so fun I would never go to the Keene Valley again.
Dark roast coffee is 5/5, top notch, lovely body and a full flavor. Cookies/muffins are good, not amazing, but very good. Staff is lovely.
There was a long lunch rush line but I got through quick and received my food quick! Minus 1 star because the breakfast burrito does not come with salsa or hot sauce. Coffee was very good though
Good coffee and big breakfast sandwiches on tasty bread, but expensive. We added sausage, spinach & tomato. Would have been a better price if we didn’t. The staff were polite and the seating was nice. Worth the stop.
Really cute coffee place with baked goods, some clothing merchandise and fancy chocolate. Vegan-friendly, as they have a selection of plant-based milks as substitute for cows milk. The quality is good, but I found some items a bit overpriced (close to NYC prices) especially considering the location. They have inside places for sitting in the adjacent building
The pizza was good, ingredients were quite good other than the crust. The crust was a little bitter. And also a lack of salt. I think with a little bit of adjustment their pizzas could be really great. Service was friendly but I was on the slower side. It seem like they were still learning how to use the pizza oven and burned a few pizzas and had to remake them causing some delays. The maple steamer and turmeric tea were fabulous. This place was fairly busy with locals and travelers.
When I ordered a flat white coffee. The boss tells the helper to just give him a cappuccino. Not the same thing. I drank the froth anyway because I didn't have the energy to explain the difference and caffeine was important at the time.
Great coffee! I happened to stop at Old Mountain to grab a cup of joe after having just come from a mountain hike in the area. There's a convenient bench out on the edge of the property, perfect for someone who would prefer to sit alone while enjoying Old Mountain's overpriced, warm artisanal, gourmet beverage. While sipping my $7 and some odd cents specialty drink (coffee, almond milk) alone, some woman thought it'd be a noble idea to hover behind me while positioning herself awkwardly between a car & the trash, near the one bench that sits AWAY from everything, so that she could get a good view of my laptop screen while I minded my own business. So apparently she was minding MY business too! Being a city girl, I wasn't too pleased with the audacity of Nosey Nancy and her sense of privilege and entitlement, so I paid the rudeness right back and snapped a photo of her right in her face, to post, so that anyone who happens to be near her ANYWHERE can be aware so as to make sure she isn't spying and memorizing your banking information over your shoulder on your smartphones!
Poor baked goods - small selection and small quantities. Previous owners had awesome baked goods. Coffee is good. Place is a mess inside and out. Tents don’t work in rain, heat, chill, wind and bugs! Annex not cozy and not large enough. Insufficient parking. Why not open the inside? It used to be welcoming and comfortable. Such food but wasted space!
Pretty sure the staff was too stoned to function properly, both of them were not friendly and lost in space. Now on to the food, the coffee was really bad, like gas station quality bad. They get two stars instead of one because at least the food tasted good. Staff and coffee need serious improvement.
Barista rushed my cappuccino order and put more milk in once cup than another. The car park is small and therefore gets really busy. Place was full of tourists thinking they owned the place. There is little choice in the area hence why people gave such good reviews.
Waited over 15 minutes for two basic breakfast sandwiches [but overpriced ($7 for just a basic breakfast sandwich?!)]. One with cheese, one without, nothing overly complicated. After waiting for this exaggerated amount of time, we received two plain sandwiches laden with grease. By the time we start driving, I realize my sandwich has cheese in the egg (couldn’t tell when you first look at it). The beer and coffee looked good and the staff was quick to fill those orders. The staff was also friendly and polite. I would go here for coffee or brews, not the food.
By the time the breakfast sandwiches were served over 1/2 hour after we ordered it, we asked about them a few times. I mean it’s a breakfast sandwich. Shrimp DeJonghu doesn’t take that long to prepaid. Finally after 40-minutes they brought the sandwiches out but we didn’t eat them because we were sure they spit in them because we had to ask about them several times. The thing was they said 10-minutes when we ordered so after 15-minutes and we asked they acted as though we were the problem. They are the worst.
