Love, love, love it! Great ambiance and food. Very busy so make reservations a few days early if possible. We were there on Thursday night and they had to turn away groups of 5 or more and had an hour wait for others. Our waitress, Ashley, has been there 9 years and was great. I loved it when a family came in and the maitre d asked the parents names, then their young daughter's name so he could put the reservation in her name. He told her where to take her parents to wait until he called her name and then told her to have her parents follow her to the table. NICE TOUCH - KUDOS 😊

Its a good place to grab food, especially when you're staying at one of the local hotels. I recommend the seafood dishes. The ladies that were behind the bar the two times I was in were very helpful when picking my food up.

Good saloon-style atmosphere, and very kind staff. My wife had the 10oz lobster tail which was pretty good. I had the prime rib. I asked them to cook it medium well which they did. Next time I'll have them cook it medium for more juicy taste.

semi fancy and the prices are SUPER pricey. kinda in a semi ghetto area but fancy inside. we got 2 seafood pasta for $48 each, so $96 total. and it was worth it. there’s shrimp, scallop, salmon, crab and flatfish in the seafood fettuccine. all were fresh. pasta sauce was super thick just how i like it. generous portions. had enough of the 2 to fill a to go box all the way. also included salad 🥗 and a side of sour bread with some butter. i’d say it was worth it. our waitress was funny and nice but not super attentive. the cups are small so my water ran out quick and had to wait a bit with a dry mouth. she came a few times but had to wait just to ask for something and not as much as i’d liked. edit: went there a second time this summer and it was SO busy. right in the highs of salmon fishing and tourists. food was great as always but we didn’t get a salad this time but did get sour bread. it was super packed.

This place was very welcoming. The atmosphere is very Alaskan. Lots of taxidermy on the walls of Alaskan Game. The food was good but it is a little pricey. The calamari is delicious and the portion was large. The bread was great. I got the Captains Plate and overall it was good. The salmon was a little dry. The green beans, mushrooms, prawns, and scallops were flavorful. Good experience overall and the wait staff were very attentive and fast.

Pragmatic Pinoy (AK49EDC)

Locally owned surf and turf spot with about a 40 seat capacity on the ground floor. The blackened steak I ordered is about at par with what you can get at downtown Anchorage but a bit cheaper with the exception of Club Paris which I'd say is a notch better. I ordered medium rare but the steak was a tad dry but well seasoned, quite what I'd expect for the price point. The sides were good though the greens were overcooked. The Halibut Oscar would have the same greens on the side and served with some rice. The King crab was delicious but if you're looking for the full experience, this is somewhat like a garnish on the dish; Just enough to tease your palate to actually crave for more. The halibut was flaky but I'd personally some SnP to it and probably a kick of spice but that's just me. The local IPA is always on point for me. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the overall atmosphere was relaxed. I'd definitely go here again to try their other offerings. A 2 day, 1 night work trip is just not enough time to explore more into their menu.

If you like old rustic Alaskan Atmosphere, then you will like this place. To me, it seemed like it was stuck in the late 80's or early 90's. I had the 1# King Crab for $99.00. I question if it was fresh or frozen, because when the crab was placed in front of me, it smelled very fishy and the crab meat was not very sweet like I thought it would be. I've had better and sweeter crab in my home state. Not what I expected in Alaska. My wife had the Halibut, it came out with no seasoning on it and no flavor, just the taste of Halibut. We have had Halibut up here at a different Bistro place and in Seward, the Halibut was awesome and flavorful. The waitress was very slow getting the food to us and to take payment. We sat for a good 10 minutes waiting for her to take our payment.

This was my second time here. The first was probably a year ago and I remembered it being better then. This time, I had herb chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Despite being covered in herbs, the chicken really had little "flavor". And it was really covered in herbs. Too much so I scraped a lot of it off. The gentleman in the booth behind me also commented his chicken, the special, was very bland. The sides were good, mashed potatoes were real, making them even better. The service was very good!

The most expensive salad I have ever ate! It cost 46.00 for basically a lettuce and tomato salad with a little bit of crab in it? It was good, but I was expecting more. Breakfast was amazing, and the steaks looked awesome!

The salads sounded great on the online menu, but I was pretty disappointed when I picked up my order. The ham had a rubbery texture, and the salad didn’t come with the slice of fresh sourdough bread that was advertised. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel worth the $25.

Incredibly expensive chicken Caesar salad that had watered down some kind of dressing but not Cesar dressing. They've increased the prices and the quality was terrible. My daughter had chicken Alfredo that was bland and overpriced. Over $100 for three entrees that were not even mediocre. It used to be good and reasonable. Not anymore.
