Opinions de Francisco's Restaurant Kerrville
First time here and loved everything. It has a small town cafe in the country side of France. Our server Victor was super attentive and very accommodating. The Salmon was so fresh and amazing. Will definitely be back in the near future.
Stopped in because they had a patio and o had my little chihuahua with me. The server was so attentive and sweet to my little dog! She was one of the best servers that I have ever had! She checked on us consistently and made sure that we didn't feel forgotten. The food was worth it. I recommend that you stop and get the pozole and the orange flan. Going to make sure this is a for sure stop when I come back.
I came in for a small snack, an ordered a cup of tortilla soup! It was so good!! My server Vanessa was wonderful so kind and attentive! I will definitely be back, ask for Vanessa!!
The best place around. Waiters are right there and then your food is right. You are not rushed you take your time. Fresh flowers on the table and beautiful outside. This place is classy. Art work is lovely. It seems like the owner always knows you or if he doesn't then he has had a very busy day. If I have visitors from anywhere around or coming in from Virginia we go to Francisco's several times ❤
Excellent service. Food is exquisite. Rich. Alfredo sauce was delicious. Atmosphere has a nice vintage vibe. Reasonably priced. Make reservations for dinner. Lunch is open. Definitely worth the effort. Edit: thoroughly enjoyed dinner last night. Recommend the Ahi Tuna. Perfect preparation- not overcooked. And do add fresh lime juice. The citrus kicks the wasabi flavors into overdrive
Every time is a great experience. Excellent food. Exceptional service. Nothing I’ve tried has ever been bad. A real gem.
As a native Kerrvillian this is my favorite lunch place in town- have you he chalupa veracruzana with tortilla soup!!! Yumm!
2018: One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE restaurants! The food is simply wonderful!! 2021: It's been three years and Francisco's is still one of my favorite places to eat. The chicken salad chalupa is always my go to. Between the intimate atmosphere and the eclectic decor this restaurant has such a warm feeling to it. Likewise the staff is always friendly, helpful, and kind. I have never had a bad experience in the many times I've frequented Francisco's. Lastly, if you have room at the end of your meal I highly recommend the key lime pie!
One of the best meals I’ve had in recent memory, we have gone multiple times and always loved the experience. Will be going back again soon.
The relaxed ambience of this place is great! Nice art & decor. There were also fresh flowers & white linens at the table. The patio is also very inviting. The specials were good too! Had a turkey sandwich & chicken tortilla soup. Yummy, I was not disappointed. Service was great. Will be back!
Yummy! AND great service!!! After a day of hiking and splashing at the parks in Kerrville, we stopped here for lunch on the patio. Unique lunch menu-eclectic fare that was highly unexpected in these rural parts of the Texas Hill Country. We had our 16-month old daughter with us and though there is no kids menu they offer a fruit and cheese plate. The fruit was deliciously sweet. Our baby enjoyed every bite! I tried the Chalupa with Spicy Chicken Salad and my husband had the fish tacos (specials of the day). Both were delightful! HIGHLY recommend!
I LOVE Paco and his wonderful restaurant. I am born and raised in Kerrville and anytime we have friends or family come from out of town his establishment is the first place we go eat. Everything is always fresh, everyone is always in a wonderful mood and their fish tacos are out of this world. Now, if only Paco would give me his recipe to his secret yogurt sauce :) Thank you, for providing a wonderful place to eat!!
As always, Francisco’s comes through again with amazing food and has super friendly and helpful service. Highly recommended
Always a pleasant experience with wonderful food and attentive staff. Don't miss out on their tortilla soup!
Enjoyed a tasty meal outdoors. Staff was excellent and food was delicious.
We ate here for lunch today and had great food and service! We are so happy with the new owners and will be back!
This is our first time here at Francisco Restaurant, and was happy to find open seating outside in their umbrella covered patios. We placed an order for Telapia fish tactos, Veracruzana chicken chalupa and a cup of pozole soup, and for desert a bread chocolate pudding, all was delicious. The staff are pleasent and helpful in recommending patrons' favorites. Highly recommend Francisc's Restaurant for all visitors passing by.
Our first time here and it was amazing. Nice atmosphere and lots of art to admire. The food was excellent all the way from the salad to the hot bread and lastly the grand entree. Reasonably priced. Will be coming back for sure
I had the Enchilads Verde and a House Margarita w/ a Tajin rim. Sat outside with our pups. Everything was fantastic.
My fish taco craving, satisfied. Choice of lunch specials daily. Francisco's is situated in a quaint setting in an old historic building downtown. Patio seating available. Good service, friendly waitstaff, and quality fare at mid-range pricing.
Really great food. Menu changes, but whatever is on the menu, I'd super tasty! Every Friday, they serve chili relleno, which is excellent!
Really nice restaurant. My family and I sat outside on their patio. I got the turkey sandwich and pozole soup and it was really good. I highly recommend this place!
Fish tacos were the best I've ever had. Tortilla soup was delicious. Guacamole was delicious. Chips were delicious. $10.77 tax and all. Was expecting a higher price for such great service and food!
Beautiful restaurant with a nice menu and very friendly staff. The specials are really good. Recommend!
Had dinner with my son and daughter in law last night at Francisco’s. Beautiful building inside and out. Nice atmosphere. Great service. The food was great. We had Cilantro Lime Grilled Chicken, Chicken Alfredo and Fried Shrimp. Good size parking lot across the street with crosswalks next to the Guadalupe River and along the street.
I love this place!! Sat outside and had lunch! 13.95 for salad and a half of sandwich with fresh pumpernickel bread and a slice of watermelon! Beautiful old building and flowers outside with garden tables!
Really good food and a nice, quiet place to sit and have some really good quality food. I had the fish taco with the pozoles Verdes. At first glance, I was certain I was gonna need seconds. The portions just looked too small and seemed like they were just going to leave me wanting more. Big mistake. I ate everything and it was really one of the best meals I ever had. Everything was fresh, or at least seemed to be and when I was done, I couldn't eat another bite. Wait staff is very friendly and they even have tables outside for those who enjoy people watching. I will definitely be back and can't wait to do so!

Excellent cuisine and menu. Wait staff is highly professional. Acapulco and San Miguel come to mind as sophisticated but not stuffy. Bar and wine choices are good for lunch, happy hour and evening dining.
This was a wonderful lunch stop in downtown Kerrville. The food was delicious, and the menu offers a great, traditional selection of regional Mexican cuisine. The staff are wonderful, and interior is decorated with a beautifully curated selection of art. Food arrives to the table quickly, and the atmosphere is great for small tables or small groups to enjoy a meal together.
Kerrville restaurant with white table cloth dinner and service. Four tabletop - We ordered steak and pasta dishes. Reservation included table service, set upon arrival. Good wine selection. Great management- We will be back to this restaurant.
The food was to die for. It was a perfect balance of flavors. But the food wasnt the best part. The gentlemen who took care of us (victor) was knowledgeable, charming and most of all a gentlemen. 10/10 would recommend eating here.

Francisco’s is a cute restaurant that serves mostly Mexican food. We ordered the fish tacos, the special of the chalupa with chicken (forgot the name), a couple of kids meals which were all tasty. We did think the tortilla soup was much better than the chicken posole. The Mexican martini was ok too, but very strong, lacked Olive juice and I didn’t don’t get the shaker with leftover drink to refill my glass. This is something I’ve always received as part of my Mexican martini order. The regular margarita was good. Flan for dessert was good too and had a nice orange vanilla flavor. As for the restaurant it was nice, clean and had a simple layout with paintings on the wall. The service was the best part of our experience. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful and made sure we were taken care of. Overall food was ok, the layout was really good, the place was clean and the service was great. Great location too!

Very quaint place. Quiet and cool vibe. Visited by many locals. The menu is not large, but it has quality choices. The grilled shrimp was excellent.

My wife and I by chance decided to eat here. She thought we were under dressed but I just wanted a nice meal that wasn't the same old same old. The service was nice as was the setting. I can not lie they had a ceviche that was as good as ones I had in Costa Rica. The sides were on point or better. The issue was the meat. My wife and I can only imagine it was the end of the night for them and they slacked off. The burger was bloody and I had ordered med rare to med. The streak was cooked perfectly but it was really chewy. It was the end of the night so we were not going to send anything back. It was just weird how good the fries and veggies and everything thing else was but the meat was lacking hence 3 out of 5. I've cooked better steaks with lower quality steaks just by letting them sit for 20 min with a little salt and pepper and then a good sear. The restaurant either over paid for their meat or they are over charging.
We ate at Franciscos today, 8-19-22 and the food was delicious!! We got the special chicken salad on chalupa and it was so good. Everything tasted fresh; the chips and salsa tasted made from scratch. Highly recommend! Lovely ambiance with table cloths and cloth napkins, lovely artwork on walls.
Food was fairly good. Service, on point. We ordered 2 plates of food, asking for one early and would share off the same plate. Well, they split for 6.95 added 1.55 for using a credit card, add 8.25 tax and tip. 10 bucks unexpected. Had we have known all that, we would have dined, elsewhere, not that they would care. Just don't like those type business practices. Price on their website were also lower than our charge. All together, a fail.
Friendly staff , really liked the chips and queso
Stopped in for lunch and I ended up waiting for my appetizer for over an hour before the waiter finally came back and let me know the item was not available. I wish he had let me know sooner nd I would have ordered something else. It was at this time were were still waiting for our food which we ordered at the same time as the appetizer. We noticed people who arrived and ordered 15-20 minutes after us were already getting their food but our waiter was no where to be seen. Finally when we got the lunch it was cold. The food was good and I really want to try having lunch here again (Maybe at a less busy time) I will update my review during me next visit.
Staff was nice and attentive. Got an appetizer.. it was disgusting. Chicken salad nachos....GROSS. The chicken salad was good with the crackers on the table...on nachos.. not so much. I suggest putting that salad on a croissant and not on crispy tortilla chips. Nice restaurant...nice art... great music... bad nachos.
There was no kids menu, so I ordered my my two young children nachos off of the appetizer list to share. They charged a $7 fee on top of the price of the appetizer for them to share an appetizer. Appetizers are for sharing! Then they charged an automatic gratuity, because we had 4 people + a baby. In my experience, when you get charged an automatic gratuity, you get sub par service which is exactly what we received. We will not be returning.
Save your money and eat somewhere good. The salsa tastes like a can of crushed tomatoes was dumped into a bowl and that's it. Wasn't impressed with the food very much. The cahalupa or whatever it's called is just chicken salad put on a tostada with cheese and guacamole put on top. Our server cory was the best part of our meal he saved this from being a one star review. That guy needs a raise! In response to the owner.( bad tasting appetizers that are too costly for what you get and bland horrible food. Yup sounds like I DID dine with y'all.) The review stands as is like I said the waiter was the best part and what kept this from being a 1 star review.
We went to the Korean BBQ place next door but they were closed and we were hungry. We had the specials as we were told that is what Francisco's was known for instead of ordering off menu... We started with chips and salsa..the chips were a bit burned and the salsa tasted like can tomatoes with a dash of cilantro. We had the Chalupa Veracruz (a chalupa with spicy chilled chicken salad on top) and the Fish Tacos (fried tilapia with cabbage and yogurt dressing). The chalupa sounded much better than what was served...it was literally just a scoop of chicken salad on a hard tostada and it was not very flavorful. The fish was dry and over fried, the cabbage and yogurt sauce did little to add to the flavor. Both were served with tortilla soup that was very greasy (you could see the grease beading up on the side of the cup) and tasted like can mix veggies with soggy chips . Our bill was almost $60, which was quite a bit for the portion size and lack of flavor. On a positive note, our server Cory was amazing and anticipated what we would want before we even asked! He brought jalepenos and extra plates and salsa without us saying anything! He was absolutely the best part of the meal and deserves 5 stars just for him!

We're having a Water Street Festival in Kerrville today. Our friend, Corey Weaver, is singing at Francisco's, so we went by to eat and listen. Our group ordered and after a little while they brought our food. I had ordered pumpkin soup. There was a small wedge of watermelon that I picked up to eat first. Two bites and there on the watermelon was a long hair curled up. I don't know about you but that's an appetite killer for me. I quietly got up and walked inside to the waitress station. I was not making a scene I just quietly told her. She looked at me and took the watermelon and threw it in the trash....never said a word. I turned and left..back to my table. I talked to our waitress and a waiter...they apologized and I told them I didn't want the pumpkin soup. Nope we won't be eating here again!

My husband fell backward off the delicate chair. The waitress was not helpful. I took him home. My family were all hustled out and food was boxed up without giving them a choice to stay and eat after I left with my husband. We will never go there again. I hope the waitress was just having a bad day and is not like that all the time.
The reviews on this place are great, guess we caught them on a bad day. It has a great patio area and our waiter was great. The food was sub par and very bland. I had the tilapia tacos and had to add salt to it. The pastrami sandwich that my husband had only had mustard, and even the mustard was bland. The salsa was just tomatoes and cilantro and it didn't taste like salsa at all. Will not go there again for the price of the food. They also do not offer a kid's menu, so it is not good for kids to go to.
I came here with my brother today for the first time and they sat us at the tiniest, worst placed table in the restaurant out of all the empty tables. Their lunch menu is very limited and is nothing special. Just basic sandwiches and 2 basic soups and salads. Ambiance was dull. We had such a bad first impression that we just decided to leave and go to the coffee shop next door, which has a far more interesting menu and great coffee. Im sure their dinner is somewhat better. Pleasant server though.
I hated this place every time we went, we tried to give them multiple chances to let us like it, but the staff is snobby and judgemental, i've never had a warm welcome from the wait staff. The food is eclectic but not that good.. short on flavorand execution. For the prices you'd be better off at the one on the river, just walk down the stairs a few blocks away between the views, the service and the well executed creative menu you won't care about what you spend. Francisco's is just not worth it.
Walked in to pick up a salad for my moms boss, was completely ignored and skipped over twice even though they had no problem addressing and seating the 2 sets of two that walked in after
