My experience here was great. Our hostess/waitress was very accommodating. I had a slight mistake with my food and it was quickly rectified. She assured me that it was no problem which made me feel so much more comfortable! This place is a cozy spot for drinks and a meal. Definitely would visit again!

Today we had a surprise birthday party for my mom's 80th, and every aspect of the event is held within the highest regards. Thank you John, for continuing to uphold such a classy establishment.

I've been going here for longer than I can remember. The food and service are great! They have an awesome selection of wine, cocktails and beers not too mention an outdoor seating area for both the warm and winter months. It's also a stomping ground for celebrities over the years. Rodney Dangerfield actually lived upstairs at one time and performed a skit there for an HBO special. There's a plack for him out back if you want to pay your respects.

We enjoy dining here whenever we are in the neighborhood. We usually sit in dining area side (right side after main entrance) as opposed to the bar (left side after main entrance). Austin's has a pretty robust menu, plenty of daily specials, and even cool events. The service here is good - nice, friendly, and attentive wait staff. We always order the French Dip Supreme. It is definitely a sharable portion, especially if you are ordering an appetizer or saving room for dessert. The French Dip Supreme is thinly sliced roasted prime rib of beef with mozzarella served on toasted garlic bread with a cup of au jus! It is absolutely delicious and tastes like heaven. This time we ordered the poutine as an appetizer and was not disappointed. I highly recommend you trying the place out.

The atmosphere was friendly and casual..there were couples and. Babies. I was dining solo and really enjoyed my meal. Updated to review their brunch. Brunch is served 12 to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday. I ordered the Challah French Toast. It comes with a basket of muffin and bagel with butter jelly and cream cheese Also there's a fruit cup and cocktail. I ordered an orange juice instead of the cocktail. The Challah French Toast comes with bacon home fries maple syrup and orange slices. It's so delicious. There are many choices from crab cakes to omelets to chicken with waffles. The dining room is wheelchair accessible . Enter to the right of the main entrance.

This bar is absolutely amazing. While it may look unassuming from the outside, don’t let that fool you. What’s inside is a whole different story. I stopped by on a Wednesday in the late afternoon and early evening, and the experience was nothing short of fantastic. The service was truly top-notch. I couldn’t put an empty glass down without another full one appearing almost instantly—talk about attentive! The staff clearly takes pride in what they do, creating a warm and welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. It’s the kind of place that sneaks up on you in the best way possible, and I’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Austin's Ale House, and I must say, Madison, our hostess, truly made our experience memorable. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly demeanor that instantly made us feel welcome. Madison was efficient, quickly seating us at a table that had a fantastic view. Throughout our visit, she checked in on us to ensure everything was to our liking, demonstrating excellent customer service skills. overall, I highly recommend visiting and experiencing her wonderful service for yourself!

The hostess was very welcoming as well as Wendy my waitress. The only disappointment which was little was that I had to be moved to twice to two tables as I was dining. Once because a musican was setting up and next because a table was reserved. I dealt with it but was difficult as I am autistic. Otherwise, it was wonderful experience. Next time, I look forward to coming back with my husband.

This shrimp and rice dish arrived fresh off the skillet and very, very hot! Once it cooled a bit, it was delicious. I was dining with friends and we all liked the place a lot. There is quiet area for dining that is separate from the bar. They also have outdoor seating.

Wonderful environment, nice soft music, kids friendly, great food. 1 of the best steak if had. Over all I loved it. I do have to mention, the crab cake needs work, I've had better, but everything else made up for that.

I only have great things to say about this place. I am in town from South Carolina for a college football bowl game. We stopped in here for dinner and had a great experience. The staff were amazing and friendly. The food was very good too. Seems like a very local place, which is our vibe so check it out if you are in the area. Food!: - French onion soup- amazing so delicious - Lentil soup- got great reviews also - Brisket Sandwich with onion rings- this was good but the feedback was the brisket needed seasoning/salt. Onion rings were good. -voodoo pasta- very good but lacking heat. Needs a lot more spice. Added red pepper flakes and that helped tremendously All in all this place was very good. As I mentioned, the folks there were great. Bartender was so friendly, greeted us immediately, and got us to a table. Our server took over from there and was awesome too. Great experience!

Holy moly is this place awesome! The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is lively. My favorite experience was on St. Patrick’s day of last year, there was live music and it was so festive! On a regular day though you’ll find sports to watch, there’s a bit of gambling to be had, good food and really lovely staff. They even have a huge outdoor seating area that’s heated in the winter. I’ve never been disappointed.

Their latest surf and turf is absolutely spectacular! Who would have thought of it, a Kangaroo steak as the Turf, with Platypus as the Surf! You can only get this special if you know who to talk to and the man to talk to at Austin's ale House is John! John is not there all the time so you've got to time your visits, and it's worth it because John has access to other "secret" menu items, that are out of this world. Ask about the Alien Burgers. . . . . . . . ( This is a spoof!, but you already knew that! )

My best friend and came out here with some friends and it didn’t disappoint. With best food in Queens, Austin Ale House shows its charm. Decorated to feel like a cozy bar on one side, and tasteful casual dining experience on the other. The recommendation was Prime Rib. Thursday and Friday nights are ideal for this delectable cut of meat. They have other specials throughout the week and I would tell you to check them out. The Shepard’s Pie empanadas were great too. Check out the horseradish dipping sauce and au jus for the rib….they have two sizes . The queen cut and the king. If you plan to take any home take the king otherwise enjoy the pictures and check them out .

Great food and service. Definitely try the Poutine (topped with short rib) because its delish!! Staff is friendly and SUPER attentive. Darlene was our waitress and she was a pure delight! She single handedly made us decided we will be returning again! (Thanks, Darlene!) The outdoor seating is cute and quaint with the LIRR passing right by you. Was there Monday for happy hour. Buy one get one free appetizers is a great deal, can't take leftovers with you, understandable. The Ahi tuna and fish tacos were large portions and delicious. Johanna the bartender was friendly and attentive. The gentleman (dougie?) who came on after her I can not say the same about, he was rude and unfriendly and talked poorly about the previous bartender and a waitress in front of customers.

The service was spot on quick even for the crowd that was there, informative attentive overall just good. Very cool place plenty of room clean will definitely return. I had chicken wings that were just okay. I will try something else on the menu and hopefully be able to amend this review.

We came in to Austin's ale house for dinner. The place looks nice and clean. There is a bar on one side and a restaurant on the side. We sat on the restaurant side which is more quiet. A waiter then came to ask what we want to order, he was very nice. We ordered the buffalo wings as appetizers. I ordered the 3rd Rail Burger and a beer flight and she ordered the Turkey burger. We got beer and house bread really quick. The wings came out about 10 minutes later and we ate them for about 20 minutes. Then we were waiting for our burgers for a while. After about waiting additional 30 minutes I asked the waiter about our food, he replied that its coming in about 5 minutes saying he waited to put in the order for the burgers a little longer than he should have and that he is sorry. After about 20 more minutes that we didnt get our food, I was looking around for our waiter to ask him about it. The manager passed by and I told him that we are still waiting for our food, he apologized and said he will check on the order. After a few minutes the manager came back saying the waiter forgot to put in the order but it should be ready in 5 minutes to which I replied that thats what the waiter told us 20 minutes ago. The manager was really nice and compensated us with free drinks and took the appetizers off the bill. He apparently also switched our waiter because some one else was serving us from that point. I must say that the food was really good and if not for that little delay I would have left a better review, and since the manager compensated us for that Im giving it a 4 star review. Im sure it is an unusual delay and that the service is good at that place, also as I said the food was really good. I still recommend trying it out.

Food is good. Atmosphere is cool. Service is hit or miss. Some waiters completely forget about there tables. I waited probably 30 minutes after we finished our food to even get a chance to ask for the check. Then was improperly charged.

Credit where its due, the food is good. That said, service was inattentive last weekend, and charging for refills on fountain soda is weak. I’ve never heard a Diet Coke refill described as “another round” before. No customary free refills is a dealbreaker for me.

I don’t recommend the food. We waited about 30 minutes for wings + a quesadilla. They were both okay, although it’s a 10 wing order minimum and they all have to be the same sauce. We were shorted 1 wing so we only got 9. We only had 1 napkin. Had to ask two times for another. Same with water. HIDDEN FEE: it doesn’t say on their promo menu for football, but there’s a 4% credit card charge. Was really disappointing. Restaurants shouldn’t be surprising patrons with fees. Either put it on your promotion menu or in big letters on the door, or don’t do it at all. Apparently you can get out of the fee by paying cash, but no one mentioned that to me even though I had cash on me. Stick to the sports and the beer and it should be a nice time.

Staff are a little hard to get the attention of, you basically have to slap them with a fish to get their attention for anything at the bar. Not sure if it's a New York thing, but another bar with some bartenders with attitudes(it's probably a New York thing, since I run into it all the time there) but the two times I have been there have been really nice bar food specials: .25 cent wings, ad another night was 2 for 1 apps included with a list of beers or ciders. Place can get a bit pricey if you don't stick to a deal, but the deals are the best things to get in my opinion.

I am not impressed by the food - it's always greasy and it is way overpriced for bar food anywy. I come here for the occasional drink as it is a nice outdoor location and nice during the summer months.

Here's a very cool neighborhood watering hole that is really quite antiquated and fun. Between the entryway which divides The Bar from The Main Dining Salon, it retains the original tin tiled ceiling and wood mouldings everywhere. The walls are overly decorated with local artwork by students. And the table spacing is cozy though crowded. Insofar as the menu, it's definitely an American pub-styled fare. Moderate to expensive. On average, more homespun than anything else. And, difficulty getting past the funny taste with the ice cubes -- which signals something inside the kitchen ... like Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares! Otherwise the wait staff is youthful, bright and intelligent. Articulate and ultimately fruendlier than the male patrons over on The Bar sidelines. Food plus beverages did add up, but given this is the only decent restaurant serving this kind of menu ... burgers, steaks, etc., it's great with the locals. For business meetings as well.

A great place for a nice meal! 3.5/5 tbh. The schnitzel was really well made. It had a nice crisp, sauced well, and had a robust flavor. The clam chowder was decent. I think there could have been more flavor. I'm not sure if it was a bad night for the wings, but unfortunately my wings were on the dry side. The exterior of the wings were nicely coated with the delicious mango habanero sauce and the skin had a nice crunch. Sadly, the meat was a bit too overcooked for my liking. The waiters were really nice but the service seemed a bit slow that evening. The dining area wasn't too crowded, so I'd imagined something was going on behind the scenes. Certainly not a bad place! I'd try it again.

The truth is that I spent an unpleasant moment in this place due to the bad attention and rudeness on the part of one of his waiters, a haughty and rude person. I don't understand how to take care of the staff. Although the food and the atmosphere are good. This waiter affects all the good that the place can provide.

So this restaurant is usually my “go to” on DoorDash if I don’t feel like cooking. After today I don’t think I will be ordering again. I ordered a burger for the first time and I looked forward to finally eating a meal for the day. Only to receive my order and realize after taking a couple of bites the inside was very pink. I didn’t even eat it I threw it out. I was very disappointed because I order from here very often and most of the time I’m very satisfied. I gave it two stars because not only were was the burger not done but the fries were soggy as well. I will never order another burger from here and probably won’t order for a while.

A mecca for the trashiest of Queens. Nothing but low class, fights, property damage, noise through the night and morning, garbage everywhere not to mention terrible service. No wonder they overcharge because they know you wont want to come back after your experience. Food is decent but what a joke of a business. It’s always something crazy at this place. Absolutely no civility or decency coming or going from here. I couldnt recommend a place to avoid anymore than here.

I was waiting for friends to arrive to eat and watch the games. Bartender asked if I wanted a drink which I declined bc I wanted to wait for my friends first. Rudely told I couldn't just watch the game without buying a drink at that moment. So I left and we spent our money elsewhere.

$30 for tuscan pasta with chicken is unreasonable. There was very little chicken and for them to charge prices like that is crazy. Never coming here again

Not sure how this place gets so many good reviews! I ate a late brunch one Sunday afternoon and boy the food was really, really bad. I could do much better and that’s saying something! Maybe they had a fill in cook? I had the french toast, nothing too complicated?! Some of the worst food I have ever had. I sent it back. All the food was terrible and the waitress was nice. Maybe its Ok for drinks and wings? Ugh

Hostile and Prejudiced bartender/service – Never Returning I came to Austin Ale House with friends to watch the UFC fights and left completely disgusted. I ordered multiple drinks while standing, then sat at the bar and ordered two more. Despite being a paying customer, a bartender loudly and rudely implied I was freeloading, then told me I had to stand unless I kept drinking. Meanwhile, another customer sat next to me for an extended period without a drink and wasn’t bothered. When I pointed this out, her response was, “I know him, it’s fine.” The blatant double standard and hostile treatment felt personal, and frankly, prejudiced. My friends and I will never return to this unwelcoming, unprofessional establishment. Avoid if you value respect. Go to cobblestone instead. At the very least they are much more hospitable and they are relatively close to this location.

Parking is very difficult around the neighborhood. Haven't been here for years and this is the first time for takeout. Had diarrhea all day after eating. Might be the fried food? The fonion rings and fries do look very dark colored. For what I got burger with fries and onion rings and an order of chicken wings. They could reconsider how they pack the food.

Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try the food here last Sunday. After waiting outside at a table for 20 minutes, a server still hadn't asked our drink order despite one walking by us multiple times. I asked a host if someone could see us and again, after waiting, we ended up walking out. Truly a disappointment as we heard Austin's had great food.
