Dear D S Shanahan’s, This place my god has some of the best damn wings my stomach and bowels have ever engulfed. They do magic in the back to make these things so juicy and delicious. The bar welcomed me with the arms wide open and even some of the locals invited me back. I tripped in the parking lot the third night I came and my knee is still bothering me, but I know the only thing that will fix that is some more juicy protein filled wings. If your from kings park like me you dont think too much about Shannahans. But it is a killer place to get together, huge outdoor patio, with bar outside on crowded days. Humungus fire pit always stocked with huge logs. You want a fire...get in n light one! Backs the woods so cool ambiance, and the chicken wings are the biggest and best around! You actually get ur moneys worth. Some other places charge $9.50 for 10 wings like shannahans, but wont fill you to max like there giant wings...oh n if you like spicy...I dare ya to try their killer sauce

U would drive past it an not even notice it, but if your hungry it’s one of the greatest place you to be at an eat at. Service it’s nice it reminded me of cheers. Food is better though, the FIB is the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had and the wings are up there too, also they have fantastic quesadillas and sandwiches. All of the food is amazing they also mike a nice drink. 10/10 would go again many times.

Love love loved this place. The roosters and geese welcome you like family into a pub that looks like home.. It's hard to tell it's a business from a distance. Inside is a typical Irish Pub with a pool table, bar, and inside/outside seating. Friendly staff and incredible food at reasonable prices make this a 'must return' for me.

The owner is a sweetheart! Paul is the best bartender in town. Always a pleasure to see the staff here. Their food is amazing and they have the best wingknight! They have a lot of events and a huge fire pit outside. There’s a mix crowd, thus making everyone feel welcomed. I seriously love this bar!

This place is a truly amazing out of the way pub. You go down a road loose cell connection but it comes back when you arrive. Now all kidding aside the wings are why you go. You can order up to 100 wings and they are fair priced may I add. Every flavor they have is extremely good and can't beat the beer as well. It's a nice atmosphere but you have to be in the pub vibe. Would definitely recommend checking out of you are a wing fanatic like I am

Been there a lot of times. I live in the area. This is a great place. If you’ve never been there before it’s funny because as you get within a mile of it you’d be scared of where your going because the road is pitch black at night and it looks like it’s in the middle of the woods. Great bartenders, good amount of tap and bottled beers. Nice pool table , big flat screen TV. A great outdoor patio with a separate bar and sometimes a band playing or music. In the fall or even winter they get a beautiful big fire going for a great setting. As far as food goes, it’s very good. Burgers are awesome. The wings are doubled the size of most wings you eat and by far the BEST I’ve ever eaten. Great nice relaxing place all together. Outside and inside tables to eat at all so with a waitress. Wing night is awesome and Sunday’s watching football there, great time all together.

Fun bar in the middle of nowhere. Cool crowd and great bartenders. Drink prices are great and we enjoy coming a lot. The outside patio is really nice and they have a giant fire pit too. The inside is rather nondescript, but that shouldn't hold you back from stopping by and enjoying a few drinks. Cant comment on the food, as we've never eaten her yet.

If you're looking for a good old Long Island Irish bar & grill with decent food at affordable prices and a good bartender/ server (Dana), go to Shanahans! On the other hand, if you don't live in the area, you may want to reconsider as it's located remotely on Old Dock Road in Kings Park.

Nice people, nice place, nice atmosphere. Great live band, Bad Reputation played while i was there. I would've given 5 stars but they charge way too much for a cup of soda. I don't really drink and go to places to meet up with friends so my drink preference is soda. All the other bars I've attended don't charge as much. But otherwise a very pleasant experience. Will most likely go back.

This place is like half a mile away from the middle school I attended as a young delinquent. I always came up with crazy ideas of the things that happened in this property behind those closed doors. Were there naked ladies? Fights? Little puppies and free candy? Sadly I moved away before I was old enough to find out for myself. Here we are, 15 years later, and I'm sitting in Shanahan's with people I graduated high school with 10 years ago. Can't say I miss living here, but if I did live here, I may come here every once in a while to prepare for my DUI that I'm about to get. I didn't have the food, but I hear their $20 all you can eat wing bar is awesome. Walking up to the front door I feel like I'm less in Long Island, and closer to Alabama or Florida and am waiting for an alligator to jump out of the woods and carry my wife away. In any case, everyone here was having a good time, the employees were kind and understanding even though my drug addict friend was trying to roll a blunt on their back patio. Some things just don't change...

Came because of a recommendation for the wings from a friend. Got the boneless and the on bone. Golden Carolina and Honey BBQ flavored. Neither disappointed. They were fantastic! The coating stayed on, it was crispy, and tasted good. The sauces were very good tasting. The chicken was tender and juicy. I will be back.

What a great little place! It is definitely in need of a sprucing up, but it is charming in its dive bar atmosphere. The food was delicious. And the rest of the reviews were spot on - the wings were amazing! I now know that I will no longer crave wings. I will crave THESE wings. I had the reuben which was made with pastrami, not corned beef, and I was not angry about it. My husband had the Jody burger, which was also very good. Overall I’d recommend.

Went on Friday night @ 6:00. Kitchen was backed up for 45 minutes. 1.5 hour wait for a table. Service was great but they need to get more people in the kitchen. I have experienced this several times.

The food was delicious, the music outstanding but it took 20 mins to order a drink another 15 before we got it then over an hour before we got our food. Sweet potato fries and a veggie quesadilla. Also way to meny people behind the bar. Very unorganized. I would never go there if I wanted to eat, I'd starve. But the music was phonominal. And once we got the good it was good but not worth such a long wait. Just my opinion though.

The patio deck with the live band was nice albeit the mix was off and made it hard to hear over the bass line. The salad was good , the wings were mid. The service was lacking as the drink order never came and had to get it myself. There is a definite smell at low tide from the water that is right down the street that some could find off putting.

I think this restaurant could be such a unique and beautiful place if it were maintained. But the property is very run down and disheveled. It's a shame because it's location is quite lovely, in a secluded spot next to the abandoned Kings Park psych center. There's lots of trees and open space and it's near the old dock park, nissequogue park and green belt trails. You can sit outside in nice weather. And the food is good standard bar-restaurant food. But the main thing holding this place back is the poorly maintained property, the restaurant building and the grounds. If the owners were to fix up this place it would be really special.

Very rude bartender ask for a couple menu to sit outside to eat waited 20 mins then I put in my order for my steak to come out medium rare and comes out medium well and ask if I’m gonna eat it or not and that not hospitality. Cause I’m telling you I have an issue with the food and just have an attitude about it and makes me the wrong drink on top on it

This facility does not accept service dogs even with a registered service dog card. They are not friendly people and would not even allow us to sit outside with no one around. Much better places in the area

Karaoke is amazing. Love Barbara. But....... Short staffed or not the servers are nasty. Time to hire more staff for weekends and the last 3 times have been horrendous. I work with the public and it's tough but control yourself

Decided to stop here after a hike in the Bluff. I specifically asked the waitress (bartender) If my dog was allowed to sit on the outdoor patio with us. She initially tells me no, and then follows me outside to ask me what kind of dog it is. I proceeded to tell her that she is a cane Corso and she says oh I had a cane Corso… You can bring her in as long as you sit in the corner and she’s on leash I say no problem. Thank you. she then comes back out with the owner and tells me she’s not allowed on the property because this is a dining establishment. Meanwhile, there are older adult sitting outside, smoking cigarettes openly in this “dining room “, as the owner called it. Then ask me, are you sure your dog is a cane Corso and not a pitbull? I said yeah she’s a pitbull. I didn’t think there was a difference. She says those dogs have certain traits everyone knows about and your dog looked at me a certain way I told her she is discriminating against my dog, and the reason I told her Cane Corso was because of this exact situation and the stigmatism with pitbulls. My dog has never done any harm to anyone and is the biggest(literal) baby in the world. Definitely will not be back here. Shame on you and your unprofessionally. They basically kicked us out because they were being discriminatory against her breed… disgusting.

Was really excited to go here with a few friends until we walked to the front door at around 7:00 pm on a Friday night and they made us wait a good 20 minutes before even acknowledging us, even though they constantly made eye contact. At one point they were even whispering about our group, until a middle aged waitress with dirty blonde hair came up to us and rudely told us they “couldn’t take us” and then turned her back, no follow up or “come back later”..just ignored us...terrible service. Not to mention it looked grimy anyways. Super disappointed. Another couple told us they had been waiting there before us at the door and weren’t sure what to do because nobody had greeted them for a good 20 minutes either...

Location: 5/10 Service: 0/10 extremely understaffed resulting on very poor service. Food:0/10 Didn’t get to try it 🤷🏻‍♀️ We waited an hour and a half to be helped but never happened. There were two bartenders a gentleman and a lady. Both of them were rude. The lady bartender was high on drugs. When I arrived I saw a customer either buying or selling drugs (I let it go bc it’s a pub, I was hungry and my friend really wanted to give them a shot due to the farm animals in the back) this particular customer was very friendly with the bartender who was visibly high. When I approached the bar to pay our drinks after waiting for too long I was at first deliberately ignored and then asked to wait yet again, when I politely refused I was given my check in a very poor manner (basically thrown at me) and the intoxicated bartender raised her voice, got defensive and claimed she didn’t see our table (we were sitting next to the bar) I was uncomfortable to say the least. Very tacky.. Definitely DO NOT recommend.

Came in with a party of 4. Asked for a table and was left standing there for 20+ minutes with no sign of anyone coming back to help us. Didn’t even let us know how long. Went over to the bar and the bartender helped all the locals that she knew by name and ignored us. Plenty of other places nearby where we can spend our money. Very uncomfortable atmosphere.

I went in and ordered a Salad and a side of fries. The menu said "add a side of fries to any order for $1.00". No exaggeration; it took 40 minutes to receive my order. The fries were awful. The salad was bland. Then the total came out to $15 and I tipped $3. Why was this seventeen dollars? What happened to "add a side of fries to any order for a dollar"? The bartender was nice and it seems like an okay place to sit and drink beer, but if you're starving and just wanted to grab food, this is the worst place I've ever been to for that.

I checked out Shanahan’s with a buddy of mine last night because we heard their wings were the best on the island. We waited 20 minutes at a table just to not be served. We then tried grabbing drinks at the bar and the manager of Shanahan’s took our ID’s and questioned if they were fake. We are 29 years old!!! The impeccable rudeness and lack of customer service from Shanahan’s is unmatched. DO NOT eat here.

It was my first time trying this restaurant. I enjoyed my French fries. The staff were very attentive, and I did not have to wait very long at all to be helped. Which I was surprised because it was very busy when I came. Overall, the atmosphere was very nice. But quality of my main entree was not very good. I ordered a chicken wrap and they put more sauce than chicken or lettuce in my wrap. I would say the whole wrap had 2 bites of chicken and the rest was filled with sauce inside it. It wasn’t really edible and I only ate the fries. I was really disappointed. I noticed another customer who had the same order as me and their wrap did not look ruined like mine did. I also ordered a glass of water but my cup looked dirty. I guess I would still come back a second time but I would ask for sauce on the side next time.
