This place was amazing. I can't believe I found it. It is off the beaten path and literally on the beach!!! We were out of town on a work/vacation week and my husband and 4yr old were beyond excited to go on a walk in the sand right after dinner. Their vodka sauce is to die for and the diablo entree was great too!

Food is out of this world. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. Had my wedding and kids baptism here 24 years ago and still same great food and people. Five stars a day then some.

Perfect spot for a Summer afternoon .. whether you decide to eat/drink in the covered patio area, where you can get traditional snack bar items, or if you decide to eat inside the full service restaurant, you won't be disappointed. I've had the pleasure of sitting in both areas .. A few months ago I shared cocktails with friends on the outdoor covered patio .. enjoying the breeze blowing off the sound .. it was a clear day with the Connecticut coast clearly visible. Recently I had the opportunity to share lunch with another friend, this time inside the glass enclosed patio .. again, the views were astounding and relaxing .. watching people young and old, enjoying a perfect beach day, while enjoying an excellent meal and a very nice bottle of wine in a perfectly air conditioned room is my idea of the perfect way to spend a hot summer day! lol Although I didn't eat the first time, I have to say that I was very impressed with the food on my second trip. I ordered a wrap sandwich, thinking of eating light; and I was grateful that others were willing to help me eat it .. the wrap was truly stuffed .. the meat was very tasty, lettuce and cheese very fresh and the entire thing was perfectly dressed .. it was definitely large enough for 2 people to split .. There was a stuffed salmon special that day, and it came out perfectly cooked .. there was no question that it was a crabmeat stuffing; definitely more crabmeat than filler .. and again perfectly dressed .. not one of those that's been overly worked or is overly dry .. It was too early in the day for me to try one of the many entrées that piqued my interest .. but I have already made a date to return in order to delve into the rest of the menu's offerings. **before I forget, the staff was also top notch .. both outside or inside, and even in passing .. they're informative, very nice and go above and beyond to help with any thing you might ask or need .. Take the ride out to the end of the road .. it'll be worth your time.

Went for my birthday with 4 friends. We were met at the door with smiles and warm welcomes. They took our drink orders, and we went off to the salad bar. The salad was fresh and crisp, and there was a great choice of topings to go along with it. The entrees were nice and hot and cooked to perfection. All 4 of us had something different, and everything was delicious, and the portions were large enough that we each took some home. I would definitely recommend you try LA Casa Cafe.

We had our wedding reception there this past Saturday, what a great job Joe and his staff did! Great communication while planning and picking menu...Food and Service was EXCELLENT and we are still getting compliments from our guests. Portions were generous and drinks were flavorful and not watered down. All I can say is Thank you for all that you guys did. If you're in need of a venue for an event, consider La Casa Cafe...very well worth it!

Went to this place for a quiet Sunday evening anniversary dinner, have been at the pizza window at the beach many times ( Neapolitan only, excellent!) the dinner was excellent, ample food, well prepared, timely and excellent service. Very reasonably priced. A great choice !

Pizza was way better than I expected, especially for a small restaurant by the beach. I don't usually like getting mushrooms on pizza since they're often canned and chewy, but these were fresh and had great flavor. Prices weren't too bad either.

We are repeat customers. The food is amazing and the portions are HUGE. The salad bar is well kept and very fresh. The service is always EXCELLENT. It seems to us that the staff loves their job. They are attentive and always have smiles on their faces. The view from the inside is beautiful. We love looking at the water while we are eating. We highly recommend La Casa.

We have been going to this restaurant for the last three years. I don't usually get too gushy about eateries, and I can be a real pain-in-the-behind, but La Casa is a cut above the rest for two reasons. 1) The food is excellent. 2) The service is better than excellent. The staff must have an interest in the place because they really treat their guests like family. Occasionally, we run into the owner and I guess the staff gets their enthusiasm from him. He had the place redone this winter and we thought it might result in a less-than-friendly atmosphere. Couldn't have been more wrong. La Casa is still our favorite, "special place." And, everyone we've taken there has agreed. We were very happy that the owner decided to remain open this winter (was not open in the winter before). If I had one criticism, the salad bar could use some "bacon bits." But, I'm just picking nits to convince readers that I'm serious. You won't be disappointed at La Casa.

We were greeting by a smiley/friendly older gentleman. The wait for a table for four on a Friday evening was only about five minutes. I was so happy we got to sit by the window and watch the beautiful pink/orange Sky during sunset. What I appreciated was when we walked into the dining area the man noticed a couple standing up from a window seat and asked us to wait so they could seat us there instead. I thought that was really thoughtful. The food was so delicious! Love the ambience. Went with our kids and they also enjoyed. Nice beautiful beach also.

Stopped by the restaurant while visiting Crab Meadow Beach in early spring weekend. Easy parking at this time of the year. Excellent service and unbeatable views of Long Island Sound from the restaurant. The food was pretty good as well (lamb chops, crab cake and tartufo) albeit pricey.

Great little beach spot with some staple Italian American favorites! The father daughter duo ran this place really well. They are so friendly with all the locals and welcoming to any new comers. The beers are cold and pizza is delicious 😋 Be prepared to wait for parking though that’s the only tricky thing is it’s always packed. We loved it and we will return soon!

I understand things are messed up bc of covid but I didn't know you could mess up shrimp cocktail. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is bc they let me use their indoor bathroom as they were getting ready to close.

The food was good, there is outdoor beach side seating and if you park at the restaurant you can get in on the beach action for free. Great place to catch a break.

La Casa special and linguini in clam sauce were both excellent. Salad bar was a bonus! Service was very good as well. Overall a great spot for dinner with an awesome view of long Island sound.

Recently went with the family and had a pretty good meal. Decent beer and drink selection, and service was attentive, aside from the clueless hostess. Was a bit pricey for what it was, but you really cannot beat the convenience of having a meal with the kids right after the beach. And it's totally kid friendly.

Nice restaurant right on the beach serving pizza outside or italian food inside. Large portions and reasonable prices inside the restaurant but the pizza seems expensive (20 for a cheese pie). You can't beat the convenience if you're at the beach but if you have a choice, probably better to go elsewhere.

The greek salad with chicken was huge! The grilled chicken was actually pretty good: moist & seasoned well! Casual place with plenty of parking at the beach. There's a long bar that sits about 15.

I have been going to this restaurant for years and turned my husband on to it and he absolutely loves it. We took our friends last night because we spoke so much about it and they wanted to go. They love clams casino and the owner overheard them and made them special because they weren't on the menu. They were delicious. Our meals and dessert was excellent along with the drinks. The service was impeccable and so was the sunset on the beach.

A good restaurant located on the crab Meadow Beach, Unfortunately they don't take reservations so you may have to wait. Prices are Fair to Midland. The food is good and ample, the appetizers are nice but a little pricey and service is Pleasant and friendly but a little slow at times. Every dish other than the steaks, or either 2895 or 2995. We got a plane personal Pizza as an appetizer, (we were a party of 4), two of us got one of the chicken dishes, one of us got the grilled swordfish dish, and the other got linguine ala bari, which was a pasta and seafood dish. There were two sodas ordered, and four coffees with two desserts that were shared by each party and the bill came to $160 plus tip. They had three and a quarter percent for using credit card which is illegal unless they notify you before you order the food but you don't know they're charging you that until they hand you the leather Credit Card Collector. That's the reason for the lower star rating. All business standpoint, they should just roll credit card fees into their costs instead of penalizing people for using their credit card. Reply to response: Sorry for not seeing those notices, but all 4 of missed it until we received the check. Still a policy that needs to be re-thought. There are so many places that don't charge extra for using a card. I added back a star.

Located directly on the Long Island Sound beach, this attractive restaurant serves both indoors and outdoors an eclectic mix of dishes, some Italian, some seafood, some American. The food is very good. Unfortunately the service is poor.

Italian restaurant right on the beach with great views from any seat. Good food, nice portions and moderately priced. The menu selection is on the small side but everyone in our party had a different entre and everyone enjoyed their choice. They have a small but nice salad bar. There is a one hour call-ahead system and we had a short wait while our table was cleared. The service was prompt and attentive. We will be back.

Went here for a party. They completely forgot to make several meals, not enough space to hold the people reserved for the party, wait staff couldn't handle the volume but tried very hard. Nice place just wouldn't have events here.

I had to wait an hour and a half for our food to come after ordering. No one came back around to refill waters during that time. And when were served the food was ok but nothing to boast about.

Used to really love this place, the menu, the salad bar. Not so much anymore. I think this evening will have been my last visit. Such as with everything and every business, smaller, less flavour, more money. Which, I wouldn't mind paying,if the heart and care was still in existence. I will do my best to remember the last amazing meal I had there was 3 seasons ago.

I liked the view of the sound and the food was OK. But the service is very slow. I think the managment forgot about our table until we reported that we had no food after an hour. Otherwise, the La Casa cafe was alright. I would recommend eating at the pizza restaurant, outside.

The food is always pretty tasty but it has become way overpriced for what you get. When the salad bar was open I would have happily paid $25 for a whole meal because it was that great but now it's just not enough value for the money. Plus the service has felt rushed and prickly the last few times we've eaten there. I'm sure we'll go back at some point but certainly not every time we visit family on Long Island anymore.

The food is absolutely terrible, watered down and cheap. You are really only going here for the atmosphere and the beachside view. Four-star restaurant prices for barely above cafeteria food.

Nice beach, ok good. Awful service. Older gentleman that took our order was the single most unfriendly waiter ever experienced. Seemed annoyed to be there, not a word or a smile. Young man brought out the appetizers and stated he would come back with plates when the old guy told him no., no sharing! Needless to say, will not be returning.

We were so excited to find a restaurant right on the water, there are so few around. Even though we live in rhe area we had never heard of it. It turned out to be very disappointing. The decor was so outdated. For a restaurant on the water it was so dark and dreary. They had large windows which were mostly covered. We placed our order and helped ourselves to the salad bar ( which was very fresh and pretty good other than stale bread) and then waited an hour and 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Food was terrible. We were very disappointed and will not be going back.

Been here for about 2 hour 10 mins was seated within a few minutes and ordered beverages and appetizers. We are a decent size party at 9. Food came out cold. Had to send some of it back. Other people in our party decided not to send anything back due to having to wait more time. Food came back hot.. Our server was very nice and did a decent job. Our overall experience was just "ok".

The food was bad for the price paid, the sauce was watery, it wasn't horrible or inedible, it was just sooooooo expensive for what you're paying for I genuinely think I could find better pasta at the olive garden you're paying for the view. cool bar, nice location, no complaints with the service, they just need new management regarding food quality.

Went for an amazing late afternoon ride, decided to stop for a refreshing beverage with my wife. The bar had 5-6 empty chairs, so we took 2. The Bar tender, "Cathleen" works her way back and forth past us every time, never managing to even say hello.. This goes on for 5 or so minutes, and only after striking up conversation with some gentlemen, decides to finally say, ill be right with you. She then proceeds to fill orders for everyone else around us. Gold digger came to my mind, but I refrained and at that moment my wife said, we should leave as even she was offended by this womans behavior.

The atmosphere was perfect. However, my salmon wasn't fresh. Would consider ordering differently if I ever go back again.

Staff was nice, and the scenery was decent enough. The food wasn't very good, though. I got the clam and white sauce with linguini pasta. The clams in the sauce were so overcooked, I couldn't even puncture the pieces with my fork. The clams in the shell were cooked well, but they they weren't clean enough. Almost every piece I had, I was chewing sand with it. There was so much sliced garlic on it, too-they really piled it on. The salad bar was decent, except for a few things. There was one part of the salad bar that had peppers and cauliflower, and a few other things. I was floored by how salty it was, and it had already been sitting in vinegar. I took one bite and felt like I'd just drank ocean water. Sorry, but I won't be coming back.

Came for Easter Brunch. Party of 12 was seated at a table for 9 told the waitress who just kinda looked at us funny cause not everyone had arrived. When our party was all there and they realized there was not enough seating they moved up it’s a buffet so half of us were standing with our plates as we were moving when we asked initially to be moved to bigger table. When we were moved to new table 2 minutes seated a table sits right behind us back to back they were very upset as you could not get up to move. They asked to be moved and I asked to speak to manager as Easter brunch was becoming a disaster.. I could continue as I asked for manager who never came. Food was cold and very plain. The desert was all over the restaurant on little plates. There was not a desert area it was just thrown around anywhere it could be put. Not recommended for holiday.

1st off, I have never written a poor review for any business ever and I’ve waited a week for the tears to stop and the rage to subside… I had a Birthday celebration for my daughter here on Saturday July 26. Upon booking the date I was told the day was wide open. Within 6 weeks prior I brought friends for dinner and to reconfirm that everything would go off as planned. The last visit was a week prior so they damn well just yessed me to death knowing they were going to throw me under the bus as they had booked a much larger party after my booking. I they did not do ONE thing they had promised. I was told they would section off a portion of the large room facing the beach…. instead we were jammed into a very small uncomfortable space I guess is normally used to store unneeded chairs as they had an entire row of them up against the wall. I was promised an easel… it was given to the other party. I was promised a cake table that I had purchased a table cloth and decorations for.. the $175 cake was not seen by anyone. No pictures of this beach themed decorated cake. It was sliced up in the kitchen . I could have bought a Costco cake for that matter. I asked if they could place 2 macarons I had bought with each slice… they didn’t. Mind you, we are only talking 18 people and about $1500 of my hard earned money. No table for favors as promised. A small plate of appetizers were accidentally placed on the table, meant of course for the other party, so I went with it and asked my waiter to make up 3 more of the same. They couldn’t because they were out of the mozzarella sticks… due to the other party. I wasn’t able to sit and enjoy my meal with my guests as I was busy clearing appetizer dishes etc to make room in the tight space for entree’s. It was the first time I invited the Drs and office staff to any of my events. I was So embarrassed and they were embarrassed for me, mentioning next time Olive Garden.. My party was a train wreck. You should be ashamed. All of the above can be confirmed by Molly as although she wasn’t our waitress she is the person I confirmed with 3 separate times..

Very disappointed with the amount of food and the charge, penne alavodka was real watery, asked for it with no onions and it came with onions there was not alot of penned to match the sauce. My wife got the chicken picata with spaghetti and was a very good size and tasted good, my wife got a drink vodka seltzer and cranberry drink 17.00 kinda high. People were very nice, the porter that kept coming to clear table and give us water was very professional curtious and very attentive. The atmosphere was clean and friendly and just for that I might go back, just not crazy about the food.

Horrific. My mother got food poisoning from the crabmeat stuffed shrimp. Waiter and busboy helped her to the restroom and the car b/c she felt faint,nausous and woozy. So nice and caring.We called the next day and said what happened.Manager was supposed to call back. Never did. Said, 'I didn't get the message that someone called. about an incident. We will never eat there again.

Had to ask waiter if he got lost, offered one drink prior to dinner and didnt come back until after dinner. Others served for him. Food wasnt up to par. Seemed like a can of crushed tomatoes was poured over the meal. Olive Garden is real italian food compared to this place.

I cant believe how much it changed. It was so disappointing. I had gyro lamb on a platter it was inedible. This used to be such a great place. The worst meal I have ever had! I dont I have ever said that before!

TERRIBLE! Been going to this place for 30 years. Must be new owners. My mother went there to ask about reserving space for my engagement party of 25 people. The owner was the most rude, arrogant guy. Telling my mother "forget it, Fridays are too busy for us" for their package deals. After inquiring about just going for regular dinner no package, to the bar tender cause the owner couldn't give ny mom the time of day. Worker came back out and said the owner was roo busy to be bothered at this time. Talking to my mother like that is close to me going down there myself to set this guy straight. This place just LOST A LOT OF BUSINESS. Just terrible...

There were 4 employees working the floor: 2 waiters, a manager, and a bar tender. There were only two tables occupied. The bathroom had an out of order sign with an arrow. I followed the directions back to the manager who was talking to the bartender and uninterested in taking my question. He said that "he didn't want to open the other side" which implies that somewhere there was another bathroom. He led me back to the same bathroom and saw the tiolet looked like a port a potty and smelled worse. He said something else to indicate that was my only option and left. It wouldn't flush. I urinated standing. Port a potties don't smell as bad as this bathroom. I hope this place goes out of business; more importantly I hope that guy loses his job.

The only thing nice about this restaurant is the beach view... The food/seafood is something you can find in an all you can eat buffet very cheap quality for what the short bald owner is asking for... He also charges 3.75% on credit and debit cards which i believe is not even allowed on debit....talk about price gouging...needless to say won't be returning here

First of all, the place had a bit of a tourist trap type feel to it. I don't think the decor or it's menu has been updated since the 80's. I knew from the moment we walked we might be in trouble with the food. And I was right, the Italian dish I ordered was really, really terrible!! I wish so much I had returned it, but I didn't want to make the people we were dining with wait. So, I just ate the pasta, drank a glass of wine and told everyone that I was full from the salad.. When we left my husband and I talked about how completely nasty the food was. He said his chicken parm tasted off, and like me questioned if our food was slightly spoiled. I have to say that we will NEVER eat here again.

I wanted to give a review on the food, but the owner denied it to us ... with bad attitude he prevented us from entering the restaurant with our service dog. 6/19/22 WRONG ANSWER With your hasty reply, I don't think I'll come to try your kitchen ... cooking is passion and it takes its time ... you didn't even want to read the certification of the service dog, and we entered the entrance without problems of the beach.

Normally love this place but came wuth my husband and kids yesterday and after 10 minutes of just being totally ignored at the front by all staff left and went somewhere else. Guess they were too busy to acknowledge patrons

Went for Easter brunch. Very tight seating. So NOT worth it. This place should not be allowed to have a buffet. No room whatsoever. Slices of cake placed on a ledge where any one can cough on them or bump up against them. Worst "Bloody Mary" I ever tried (just tomato juice and too much vodka!). Food nothing special . You've been warned...skip this place!
