One of my favorite lunch spots in Northport! Food is yummy. Casual and chill location - we always like to sit at the bar and see Ryan in his cocktail magic making mode! His mocktails happen to be amazing also! Love having a friendly face to welcome us whenever we head in. Highly recommend Skippers!!

Love the bartender we had I think his name was Ryan. Amazing craft cocktails. Very friendly and very attentive. We had the chicken Apricot, which was recommended by him which did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!

Hubby and I popped in for a quick drink while waiting for our food, last pm (06/14/25). I didn't get the bartender's name, but he was really nice and welcoming. He made us this rum punch drink (of course I dnt remember the name smh lol) but it was SO GOOD - def what we were looking for! The atmosphere was really nice - a chill vibe and the water is just steps away. Such a nice way to spend the evening.

Had the Eggs Benedict on Feb 2 2025-absolutely delicious. Cory was our waiter. Very friendly and attentive. Eat here often and have never had a meal I didn't love. Well done and deserving of 5-stars

Positive: the food was perfectly cooked, we had Fish and Chips and a Burger, the meat cooked to perfect term, really good quality food. The waiter was kind and effective with his service. Negative: the hostess put us on the waiting list, 3 people, 20 minutes wait. We took a nice walk along the waterfront, which is a beautiful area to stroll around; we returned after 20 minutes and noticed there was one outside table available; as I was approaching the hostess to inquire about my reservation, a group of 3 people had just arrived and were let in to the available table “with no wait”!! When I asked, the hostess told me that I should have asked for outside table when getting on the waiting list!!! I mean, seriously? If it wasn’t obvious that I wanted the first available table, whether inside or outside, then why didn’t they asked me? You are supposed to guide the customer!

Nothing but great vibes and amazing food. Love it! Go there to hang with Ryan the bartender. Large beard, cannot miss him. He makes the best drinks and is a genuine dude.

First time in the recently renovated Skippers. They spared no expense and the place is beautiful inside. Especially the bar side of the restaurant. The food has always been good, but now it’s first rate. The tuna nachos, French onion soup, burger and fish & chips were all great and exactly how you want them to be at a restaurant & pub by the water in a quaint area like Northport Village. Service was great as our server is a local that has worked there for years. When you’re wishing you were in Greenport, Newport or Edgartown, head to Skippers for lunch and dinner to scratch your water-side, summer retreat restaurant itch.

Super easy to find, right on Main Street. There is street parking and lots available on a Friday night. Cody took care of us, being very attentive and following up just often enough where he wasn’t overwhelming, but we knew he would get us whatever we needed. All other staff were wonderful and communicative. The food was delicious; we shared buffalo cauliflower, rocket salad, and the swordfish entree. The swordfish was tender and not the slightest bit overdone, maintaining a delectable juiciness. It was a bit pricey, sharing all of these items plus one drink turned out to be about 45 per person after tip. However, the experience made that cost palatable and worth it. Would overall recommend this to my friends.

Hadn't been to Skippers as we don't live in the area but boy has it changed. Used to be a dive bar good for a drink not so much the food. They have completely changed everything. Updated the decor and got a much much better chef who evidently used to work at Nobu so you know his food must be great. I got the Harissa Butterflied Branzino because it sounded different from any fish we had seen and it sure was. Great very different spices but not overpowering at all. Fish cooked perfectly it did not disappoint. For an appetizer the skillet baked brie cheese was amazing. Our server was amazing I promised I wouldn't forget his name and of course I did, so I'm sorry about that. He explained the dishes and the spice level of the fish to perfection. He was very helpful and attentive and we will go back and get his name for sure soon.

I can’t say enough good things about skippers, a neighborhood staple for many years! Ryan the bartender was excellent so helpful and his drinks were outstanding, I had a verbena sage and espresso martini the best I’ve had!!! The food is great quality and the atmosphere is a cozy clean nautical vibe perfect for its waterfront location. Sitting at the bar provides an excellent view of the sound 10/10!!!

My family had the fish and chips which they said was great. There was an amazing salmon special where glazed salmon was placed on a bed of ravioli. I got the fish tacos which were cook perfectly. The chili was great but I thought it was too expensive for the amount of chilli you get. Service was nice and the decor was very well themed.

Ryan was incredible. One of the best bartenders I’ve ever had. Every cocktail he made was top-tier, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. You can tell he takes real pride in his craft!

Even though we did not have a reservation, Skippers employees were kind enough to accomodate us (a wholesome 7 people) on a very busy Saturday. We were provided with just enough time to enjoy our dinner and most importantly, never felt rushed. Everyone had a positive attitude. Beautiful smiling faces all around. Food was delicious, atmosphere was great.

Terrific restaurant in the heart of Northport. I have been here before, but yesterday I went with my two month old baby and my husband. Upon entering, I was greeted with a gracious staff who accommodated my stroller and my baby, without any guilt, shame or inconvenience. We ordered off of the brunch and the main menu, the food was delicious, especially my New England clam chowder. Our waiter was also kind and helpful.

We stumbled upon Northport while visiting for a hockey tournament. This restaurant came up in a search to eat by the water. We came for the food but stayed for the atmosphere. The town sucked us right in! The staff was polite, friendly, and accommodating. Service was mostly good. Swordfish platter was delicious and a generous portion! There are more laid back / affordable options in this quaint town but this location can't be beat! I recommend it, especially if you want a cocktail with your meal.

I hadn't been here in years and was there twice in a week this week. Lunch outside on a Saturday was lovely and the food was delicious and fresh. Then went in later on last evening for a drink and dessert and it was very good the dessert and the espresso martini delicious.

On such a busy Saturday night, Skippers found a place for us with such short notice. Cody was great and very attentive regardless of how busy the restaurant was. He was not only very professional but very kind as well as informative when we had questions about the menu. This is my fiancés and mine fifth time here and will continue coming back here because of their wonderful staff, food and flexibility with their customers. Highly recommend and very family friendly.

I went to Skipper's for lunch and enjoyed it so much, we went again for Mother's day. The food is consistently good and fresh. The service is very good and did not feel rushed. We had a stroller, which the staff worked around with pleasure. There were a lot of children on Mother's Day and they were accepted, although all the children were well behaved, miraculously. The ambiance is clean, neat, comfortable, and nautical. There is a nice bar, too.

We had an amazing experience at Skippers for dinner tonight. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the welcoming, and efficient wait staff. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and offered wonderful suggestions that didn’t disappoint. The menu consisted of a wide variety of cuisine with something for everyone in our party. The food was artfully plated and absolutely delicious!! Desserts were creative and decadent!! For example, someone at our table ordered cheesecake in a mason jar that he said was fabulous. I had a caramel bread pudding with homemade ice cream that was beyond amazing. I will definitely be going back.

Sierra, our server, was kind, accommodating and such a joy. I had the Skipper's Omelet. I cannot say enough about how beautifully the meal was presented, and then there was the omelet itself! A perfect blending of flavors and textures, the potatoes were a perfect serving and delicately spiced, the asparagus was perfectly cooked and I saved my fruit for dessert! Joab is an artist!

My brother, sister and I enjoyed a marvelous lunch at your establishment on January 1 and were very pleased with the ambiance, food and service. Our server Ryan was also tending bar and did a remarkable job attending to us, answering questions and offering up some suggestions. We were even introduced to the owner and general manager. We loved the location and parking was quite convenient.

We went here for an informal reunion of high school friends. There were about 12 of us and the staff was very accommodating and patient. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was classy. My wife and I had a drink at the bar beforehand and the bartender was equally top-notch. The view of the harbor from the bar is amazing, so I highly recommend a drink or even a meal at the bar around sundown. You won't be sorry. Best of all, the food was amazing. Well seasoned, creative and cooked to perfection. If we lived in the area, we would be regulars just so we could try more things on the menu! It's a little pricey but worth it, especially for special occasions or when you want to treat yourself!

My partner and I came here for Valentine’s Day dinner, and the food was absolutely fantastic and so rich in flavor! We got the fried calamari and truffle fries for our appetizers. They both were fried to perfection! So crispy and such good flavors.! For our entree we got the Skirt Steak and All American burger with fries. The steak had this delicious chimichurri sauce and truffle on top with roasted cherry tomatoes and perfectly baked crispy potatoes wedges. 10/10 The All American burger was also very delicious and perfectly juicy! My partner was a big fan! We ended the night with the most absolute perfect dessert. The star of the show! In my opinion! The caramel bread pudding! It was so moist and so fluffy but also very dense in the best way possible! With ice cream on top and caramel sauce all over with a crispy sugar cookie on top! One of the best bread pudding I’ve ever had! 10/10! The service was also super great! Our waitress was super sweet and super helpful! Overall a 11/10 experience! We can not wait to be back!

Very refreshing to see the staff member was polite about it. Server was also very professional and extremely nice! You know when you are being treated with respect and are welcomed as a customer, the food will meet the expectations and it did. Knew what I wanted before I arrived so it helped save some time ordering. We sat outside and were given the right amount of attention by the server. Absolutely a must try place! Perfect portions and delicious items. Crab cake and cream brûlée wins 10 ⭐️ 🌟 alone! Wonderful spot and gorgeous view. Due to hot temperatures all day we went around 8:30pm so it wasn’t crazy busy but I do recommend making reservations so you have enough time to enjoy every bite and the view. My new go to place for really good food and absolutely wonderful service.

Stopped by Skippers on a beautiful day, and it was the perfect choice! The weather was amazing, so we grabbed a table outside , such a great spot right by the water with a relaxing view. The service was super friendly and made the experience even better. I ordered the fried calamari, which came out crispy and fresh. The oysters were hands-down the highlight so fresh and flavorful. I also tried the wings, and they hit the spot. To top it all off, even the cappuccino was amazing rich and perfectly made. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. Skippers is a gem in Northport!

I ordered the Skipper Burger, which was nicely seasoned and so flavorful that it didn't need ketchup. Although a little on the pricey side, overall a pleasant experience and our server Daniel G did a great job!

We went to walk around the Village of Northport on a Sunday night and ended up at Skippers for some dinner and drinks. We started with a few drinks and then asked our waitress Erin for some recommendations for dinner. Erin was very knowledgeable with menu options and was able to point me towards some of the most popular and delicious plates. She recommended me to get the swordfish which was excellent! We also ordered the salmon, and steak tacos. Everything was very good so we decided to stay for dessert. We got an order of the raspberry crème brûlée, and the bread pudding. Again, everything was fresh and delicious. Throughout the rest of our time there Erin was very helpful, and courteous and kept all our drinks refilled. The restaurant is located right on the corner nearest the water in Northport. On a nice day you could sit outside and get the cool breeze off the water with a beautiful view of the harbor with all the sailboats. I would certainly recommended trying Skippers!

Went here randomly for a seafood choice of lunch and happy to know the bar is already opened. The staffs were friendly to locals and tourists alike. May wish to come back during happy hour to see this place come alive.

The renovation is phenomenal! Finally! They have finally revamped the location to take advantage of the prime location with views of the park/water and Main Street intersection. We enjoyed an upscale brunch. So relaxing while sitting right in the heart of town. The staff was just the right balance of warm and attentive.

The last time I was here was a few years ago and since they have brightened the restaurant with a new contemporary style. The service is pleasant and attentive, the menu, which seems to include the 30% increase all restaurants seem necessary in these times, includes many tasty items. I have one complaint and that is that they hit you with a 3% surcharge for credit card when check is presented. I informed the server that this is against the law but he said the manager said, incorrectly, that it is not against the law any longer.

The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. However, I found the service to be a bit slow and inattentive. On the bright side, the food was really impressive and met my expectations.

We also enjoyed the oysters, which were impressively fresh and decently sized. To complement the great food, the service was truly exceptional—attentive and friendly from start to finish. The only significant drawback to the meal was the high price point, making the overall experience feel a bit too expensive.

We came in for dinner as the location was stellar and the atmosphere inviting. Our waiter was aloof and seemed irritated when asked to answer questions about brews on tap. However, he was very attentive to a group of young women seated nearby. We paid for our drinks, left, and had dinner elsewhere. 😒

This is a nice corner pub right off of Main Street and Woodbine Avenue right in the heart of Northport. Parking on the street is available but it fills up fast especially on the weekends and at night. There is a municipal parking lot across the street. Typical pub fare from Burgers and Sandwiches to Seafood. Reasonably priced. Daily food and drink specials. Nice Staff. Food is served late at night. Televisions for sports fans. Many locals for patrons. Clean facilities. No wheelchair accessible entrance. Public Restrooms.

12/26/21 Came around 3ish--not too crowded Sweet waitress and nice patrons 🥰 The lobster bisque was tasty! Just so you know...the lobster is minced and there are no big pieces of lobster to chew on. That was slightly disappointing @ minced lobster bits (or whatever it may have been--could have been pork fat).

Our server was good but the food was mid. The pasta was undercooked, when returned the sauce was watery. The fish and chips were just ok. Food did not reflect the ratings.

My first review that i posted 5 years ago (2019) "Great location by Northport harbor". We have been there several times since then, but not in the last 3 years. We went there this past weekend for the first time since the remodeling, and they did a really nice job on the decor and layout. We were, however, very disappointed with the menu, which had changed significantly, and offered far fewer items. We chose the cavatelli (see photo), and were outraged by the $24 price. We almost walked out, and probably should have. The portion was insultingly small, and barely filled the bottom of the bowl, and it was no better than I could have prepared at home for easily less than 1/8th the price. $24 for a small bowl/portion of pasta ??? Seriously ?? It costs that much to cook a simple (SMALL) pasta dish ?? At least give a Larger portion! Is there a pasta shortage that I missed in the news ?? Come on. Ridiculous and very very insulting, Felt taken advantage of. Resulted in a horrible dining experience despite the good service and nice decor....(paid for from the high prices of their food)........we wont be going there again anytime soon.

Food was a ZERO. $35 For fish and chips that consisted of 3 mozzarella stick sized pieces of battered fish and a handful of French fries and a lemon wedge. Fish was flavorless, fries soggy. I had ordered an unsweetened iced tea but had to send it back for a coke because the tea tasted like dish water. The replacement coke was flat. My wife's coke was flat as well and her burger was mediocre at best. $65 plus tip for a very unenjoyable lunch.

The server was exceptionally polite and attentive. While the restaurant is a popular destination, the food quality was disappointing. The steak we ordered was poorly cooked and dry, while the burger was equally subpar. However, the drinks were of excellent quality. I understand they went under a recent renovation to cater towards a more upper-class approach compared to their previous pub style, but food service must go up if they wish to bring prices up as well. I will definitely come back when visiting, just to give another shot as the ambience is worth the trip.

Skippers in Northport New York ( have no idea why Google linked this to co.uk ) on the south West corner of Main Street a few blocks away from the Engeman theatre is a small spaced restaurant. Paul is the owner, Tyler manager and 3 young ladies are hostesses. NOTE THIS IS NOT A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE PLACE. They do have an emblem on their front outside board. Want one ? go across street to the hotel to eat! Had I but known. Entering, they did use a light weight ramp. Wasn’t room to turn a wheelchair. Both men’s and women’s room were so tight with no room to enter or move especially to the bathroom. The emergency exit in back has steps. Having asked hostess to seat us indoors, reply was no due to no reservations though there were many empty tables. Asked for outdoor seating requesting least sun , got full sun .No, the umbrella did not have tilt ability. Manager used clout to move us indoors.Tyler was kind and tried to help. As were so many other people who gave us a hand to move. I thank them all. Finally seated, Tyler explained why curbs are high. Seems they get hi tide floods from nearby bay. His brief history of place -let’s see if I got this right-1978 they were a bar. In 1990s they bought meat store next door and revamped with glass front door an still nautical theme. Moldings are original hand made. With newer pix and lights. Food steak, burrata and wings were good, service slow and wanting. I’d gotten up to get 2 more cloth napkins, dessert menu, get waiter Daniel to order dessert and then bring the check.Yes there were nearby tables he’d served with many people. Bus boys did take plate’s away quickly. I found it so stressful, that it took away any enjoyment, though we all tried.

We were sat in the back, a party of 8 split among 2 tables. When our table of four ordered our food, notably with two linguine alle vongole, only one came out. WE had to tell the waiter about it, and it took another 13 minutes for it to come out. The rest of us at the other table had finished their food by then… Not to mention the linguine itself was bland for both of us. It was not good, and especially not worth the wait. At least our waiter comped her glass of wine ($14.50) since she waited 40ish minutes…

Location and atmosphere is very nice but if the lobster roll is any indication of the rest of the food don’t go here. Worse we have ever had! Size was extremely small for the high price. There was more celery than the very small shredded lobster and there was too much mayonnaise.

Skippers had the most unprofessional and rude staff I have ever experienced. I was eating with my significant other and I watched as the staff refused a group of women drinks who were politely enjoying their meals. After the women left, the staff were mocking them and it was disgusting and completely out of line with what I would expect from a nice restaurant. I would never go back. Highly recommend reconsidering where you eat due to what I witnessed today.

First time here, sat at the bar for happy hour. Was not given a happy hour menu, was not told what the specials were. The older male bartender was emotionless and not very talkative. I didn’t have a warm welcome, and will not go back.

Passable at best. Got a headache from the 2 girls who are by the front door. The non stop loud chatter and laughter .. were they working??? and then to reprimand the lovely lady who was our waitress in front of patrons is uncalled for.
