Marie and the staff were wonderful for our family meal after bidding farewell to my mother in law. The food was delicious as always. Thank you Frank for your kindness and such a good experience
Long time comer. My favorite Italian restaurant in this entire area. Portions are big and comparable with the price. Service is always excellent, never had a bad visit. Food is aaaammmmaaazzziiinnnggg. Be sure to make a reservation on the weekends ahead of time. They can get busy!
We went out to eat for my wife's birthday. I made reservations a few hours beforehand without an issue. The staff was super nice and the food was worth every penny. I highly recommend it and we will definitely go there again!
Always excellent! We have dined in several times during the pandemic and felt very safe doing so. The staff are welcoming, professional and genuine. They truly care about providing an enjoyable meal and experience.
A wonderful experience. The building is beautiful and the staff are very attentive and make you feel welcome. The food was delicious, served fresh and hot. The meal was not rushed. Definitely a worthwhile destination. We will return and certainly share our positive experience with a recommendation to friends.
So I usually only take the time to write positive reviews and it’s the same here. First, I’m from Jersey where Italian food comes easier than cereal, with that being said finding a good spot in this part of the world has been tough although I’ve only tried a few spots in the several times I’ve been up here. This place has great food, drinks, and the service from Kaare (pronounced Corey) was top notch. Also the interior was well done, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Food here is delicious the chicken francaise is the best in Kingston!! The pizza however is not,it's the size of a bar pie,and not too good unfortunately I was expecting better from here !! Caesar salad was good
Marie, Terry and everyone were awesome! Everyone made our day AMAZING! The attentiveness was hands down perfect!! We had a wonderful experience.. Absolutely, the best day ever and I'm sure grandma S. would approve.. Thank you all so much ❤️
Excellent service and waitress. We were a party of 12 and our waitress was ever present and attentive. Portions were large and food terrific
We've been coming here for years. As usual, the food was delicious. We had chicken francese, eggplant parmigiana, veal parmigiana and pasta bolagnese. All was amazing. Our server, Michelle was super nice and gave great recommendations. We love it here!! Highly recommend!
I went w my 13 year old grand daughter. Out waiter was delightful. The food was Extraordinarily yummy. She loved her shrimp francese and I loved my eggplant parm and i am a pro re eggplant.par. The prices are steep. The portions v generous.
excellent services and wonderful food. we were a party of 20 and staff did miss a beat. the best part was family style food and service. no one left there hungry nor sad! we will come back here again next time we are all in town !
Love, love, love, Frank Guido’s. It is authentic Italian, and as an Italian from The Bronx, I know from what I speak. The food is beautifully seasoned, consistent with traditional Italian spices. The staff are attentive and the atmosphere, is as if I was sitting in my mom’s dining room with the entire crew of aunts, uncles, and cousins eating the amazing cuisine from Lucia, Mia mama. Thank you Frank Guido! You definitely rock.
Just happened to stop in for a late lunch, and happy we did! Great food, great vibe, great service. Only problem it is over a hour from home.Even so will be back.
My wife and I went here on a whim because we felt like some authentic Italian food and we're not disappointed. We ordered the linguine with clams with a garlic and olive oil sauce and it was amazing. Also the meatballs were excellent in a sauce that's a hundred year old family recipe. It was a really fun experience and felt like you were in an old family place.
Went last night to celebrate a friend’s 95th birthday. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. Our server, Kara, went above and beyond to make it a special time. Love this place
Honestly, a fantastic meal. Our server, Josh, was fantastic, outshone only by the food. I haven't had a good francaise like that in a while. It was the perfect level of tart to rich sauce. I can only say this: I can't wait to bring my Sicilian-born grandmother there for a meal.
Had a catered party today the food was excellent
Attended a luncheon there that was held in a separate room next to the main restaurant. It was a nice size for our group of about 30 people. The food and service were excellent. Plenty of parking right across from the restaurant. I would definitely go there again.
Came in before a show on Sunday around 5:45, no reservation. The women at the door were AMAZING. Although they couldn't promise us anything they assured us they would try and get us in . Mind you, we really weren't dressed for anything fancy and we had watched them turn away countless people dressed to the nines after promising us they would try. Though they couldn't seat us in the main restaurant they sat us at a table meant for 8(we were 4) in their event room. We couldn't believe how NICE and accomodating they were. Our server Caroline ( i believe was her name) was hustling all night and never skipped a beat. We had such a wonderful experience and can't wait to come back. On top of the service the food was to die for. Thank you so much to Teri and her team for making our evening so great.
First time here and they deserve more than a 5 star rating. Our server Maria was so attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. From the appetizers to the dinner and dessert everything was above and beyond exceptional !! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Had a delicious birthday dinner here with my boyfriend last night. They give you a discount on one entree if it's your birthday. The seafood linguine was superb! The steak was super delicious, tender and cooked to our liking perfectly. Our waitress was lovely and attentive! Really enjoyed the meal immensely. Only suggestion is they prepare the stuffed clams appetizer with a bit more clam 😉😊
Just did my daughter's wedding reception this weekend and it was amazing. Food was great, waiters were excellent and that apple crisp incredible. We set up every thing with only 1 weeks notice (52 people). I highly recommend!
Food was great. The service was phenomenal, if you haven't heat and there, give it a try. Great italian food.
ABSOLUTELY wonderful on every level. Total sensory experience. First time there n already making plans to invite others to dine too. Our server Eva was very friendly, professional and attentive.
This is my family's favorite place to eat. The food is authentic old school Italian food, you think you're in Italy with every bite you take. The atmosphere is very elegant and at the same time the people at Little Italy do not discriminate at all. You can wear an evening gown or shorts and a T-shirt and they will still greet you with a smile and sit you at any table. I love this place and highly recommend eating there.
Our reservation was rather late in a Friday night and we had appetizers, dinner, dessert and drinks ! Our server Vanessa was amazing and never made us feel rushed even though we were clearly the last party being served! The food and drink were excellent ! The atmosphere welcoming and comfy! We love it there! The sweet seven
Great tasting food served as family style dishes. Calamari is excellent.
Number 1 place to bring larger groups and still get a great meal.
I had a delightful meal, where the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly our server, Amanda. Her exceptional service and genuine warmth made our dining experience truly enjoyable. Amanda was attentive without being intrusive, and her recommendations were absolutely perfect. She helped us navigate the menu with ease, suggesting some fantastic dishes like the alfredo and the fried mozzerella, which turned out to be delicious. The restaurant's ambiance complemented the delicious Italian fare, but it was Amanda’s attentive service that truly stood out. Her friendly personality and professionalism made us feel valued and well-looked-after throughout our meal. I highly recommend them for its excellent food and the outstanding service provided by Amanda.
My cousin and her husband celebrated their 80th birthday at a private party for 70+ people and it was fantastic! The food, the atmosphere, everything was just great. Thank you for making it a perfect double birthday celebration.
This is always a great place for Happy Hour, a night out or a family dinner.
The food was delicious! We got the zuppa Di pesce, burrata ball, and the salted caramel espresso martini. I usually don’t eat the free bread at restaurants but the breads here were amazing. Yasmeen was our waitress and her service was great.
Last night was our first time eating at Frank Guido's Little Italy. Marianne, Michelle and Jessica (our server) were all wonderful, helpful and very pleasant. And the food was amazing. We traveled an hour to go there and we most definitely will be back.
I cant say enough good things about this place! We stopped here unexpectedly on our way from Albany to Atlantic City, we couldn't have lucked out more when this came up after searching for Italian restaurants. We started with the fried mozzarella; then my son and I both got the pene ala vodka and added a chicken cutlet to it. It was HEAVEN! My husband got spaghetti and meatballs and was also satisfied. We are planning on going here again the next time we're in the area.
My wife and I went out for date night and were not disappointed. Garlic bread with mozzarella was great. Starter salad was good and dressing was tasty. Both of our entrees were cooked perfectly and tasted great. She had the Angel Hair Angelina and I had the Chicken Parm. Even the drink my wife had from the bar was perfect, not too strong but not too weak. The entire meal was also reasonable priced for this day and age. The server Jen was top notch. Highly recommend.
The food at Frank Guido's is excellent and the staff are friendly and provide great service. We have been there many times to celebrate family member birthdays and all in our parties said how much they enjoyed their meals.
Perfect red sauce joint! Loved the veal parm in particular. Cannoli and wine list also great. Really generous portions. Our server Yasmeen was very attentive and sweet, with great recommendations.
My first time here, and it was delicious! Friendly staff, our waiter Giles was attentive. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot! For an appetizer we had the garlic bread and chicken wings. Bread was very cheesy and chicken wings were perfectly crispy and not drenched in sauce. Entrees we had lasagna and chicken parm! Great size portions. A little pricey, but worth it. Will be back!
Food was delicious! And it came out quickly. All homemade. A little on the expensive side but totally worth it. In the photos I have the tequila sunrise (alcoholic beverage) which was soo good. And a classic cheese flatbread. They do not sell pizza here. Only flatbreads which are pretty small. I’m not from the area and had googled for pizza and this was one of the first few that came up so I had assumed there was pizza here. Either way, I’m glad we were able to try this restaurant and plan to come back in the future
Hands down best Italian food I’ve ever had. The service was great as well, very nice people!
What a joy to eat fine Italian food. Not the horrific slathering in canned tomato sauce. No, fine delight in carefully fine tuned tastes. It was really like spending time in Rome or Milan. It was my birthday and I was treated like a prince. I love their Catskill location, but l would love to spend my next birthday here.
Came here in a busy Saturday night. Luckily there's a parking lot across the street with free parking after 6. I was lucky enough to get seats when I arrived. I ordered an Angela hair Angelica and a Chicken Parm. Both were delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.
Great food, cute atmosphere, great service. Yasmeen was our server and she was really nice.
Warm and welcoming family atmosphere. Hard working and attentive staff. Amazing food. Can't rave enough about the entire experience. Highly recommend!!
Absolutely loved our experience here! What truly made our night unforgettable was our waitress, Amanda. She was amazing—so friendly, funny, and attentive. She went way above and beyond to make sure our family had a great time, and it showed in every detail. The cocktails from the bar were spot on and food was just as impressive. The portions were perfect for sharing. The fried calamari was a major hit at our table; both sauces were totally devoured. We were also really impressed with how many veggie options there were. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!
I really can’t say enough good things about Frank Guido’s Little Italy. From the owners, staff, food… everything. My family & I have shared numerous celebrations and dinners here over the years but nothing will ever top doing our wedding reception with them in May. The amazing service and care we received that night and leading up to it meant so much to us that it’s hard to even put into words how thankful we are. Special recognition for Marie who spent months talking with me, organizing, and making sure everything was perfect.. & it was!! Also, Amanda who made sure we were taken care of all night. You are both exceptional and I can’t thank you enough..And to all the other staff that made our wedding night amazing as well.. THANK YOU!! To top it off today getting a letter & gift in the mail from Mark thanking us for holding our reception with them..Truly made our day and proves we made the right choice when we decided to do a smaller reception at a local spot we love so much! I would recommend them to anyone, for any event, big or small! 10/10! ❤️ -Nicole & Derrick Jackson
The aren't enough words to describe how good this place is. I was out that way on work travel and decided to check this place out. The staff was great! Super friendly and welcoming. The food......... Well, was amazing! I ended up ordering more than I could handle and got uncomfortably full, but was in no way upset about it lol. I highly suggest going here for dinner. I'll be back!
We arrived only about 20 minutes before closing on a Thursday night but were treated great, and though we were last customers in the restaurant, they made us very comfortable. Our waitress, Amanda, was very attentive and we really enjoyed the meal, including the three very different types of bread that came with it. I had the "chianti sliced steak" which was unusual and delicious. I hope to get back on next trip to Catskills.
Such a friendly fun atmosphere! Great happy hour specials and large servings.
the best limoncello desert, cannot find or get anywhere else. staff were eternally very kind. will become new frequent attendee. love the vodka sauce pasta
Each visit to Little Italy has been an incredible experience for my partner and I. The food is stellar -- simple, traditional American Italian executed perfectly. Drinks are creative and delicious. Staff across the board are kind and attentive. My desire to write a review mainly stems from the high level of service and warmth of our recent waitress, Amanda. On a bustling Saturday night full of large parties and a line nearly out-the-door, she made us feel important and special as we celebrated a birthday. You can't go wrong eating here!
From the moment I walked to check-in for my birthday reservation for 10, I felt all the love in this beautiful restaurant. Everyone was so welcoming and professional and accommodating. The space is large. We sat down and were lucky enough to have one of the best servers I've had in a long time, our new friend Uriah. A consummate professional, warm and attentive. Loved the guy. Food was absolutely delicious. They sang happy birthday to me and gave me a mug and a cupcake. I take my birthday very seriously, and they did too! I'll be going back for several more celebrations.
I had such an enjoyable and delicious dinner for my birthday in November with my sweetheart, Wayne Lasher. I love the cozy atmosphere! The cocktails, salad, and meal.... fantastic! The perfect ending was the singing birthday greeting from the staff, and a delicious piece of cake served in a great mug .... how thoughtful...love it! Thank you❤️Faith Robertson
We had an amazing lunch here recently on our trip back home. The Bolognese sauce was the best I ever tasted. The dipping oil, made in house, was out of their world. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and relaxing. Best old world Italian food in the Uoster County Area.
Hands down the best food experience I’ve had in Kingston. Wanted lunch here and forgot how late they open - ended up elsewhere instead and boy, was I disappointed! At Frank Guido’s the Mac and cheese on the kids menu tastes like nostalgia. Service is perfect with some cutesy touches, wine selection was great, pasta and meat is always perfect. Not a single complaint. Would go there over and over.
Went for the wife’s b day and it had been years since I have eaten here. Parking can be a challenge if there is an event going on. Amanda was our server and did a great job with recommending choices. So I like that they provide 3 breads in the complementary basket. We ordered the meatball and they were good garlic bread with mozzarella. Meatballs were good, I wasn’t impressed with the garlic mozzarella bread, it just wasn’t a great bread and was less than stellar the sauce that came with it was just mid. I did sample the sample the salted carmel martini and it was good. So onto dinner as I ordered the stead as was told it was amazing and it was. Who would guess Italian restaurant with amazing steak. Others reported they liked their food as we have the chicken parm and penny à la vodka with chicken. We needed doggy bags as you have to have dessert. So we ordered four different desserts in overall they were good no complaints.
My family and I have eaten and celebrated at Frank Guido's over the last 10 years, the food and service is always excellent. I recently had my daughters graduation party with all our extended family and friends. First, the staff that served us was beyond top notch, always smiling quick to serve and assist, just excellent! The room we dined in was beautiful, The food is as, has always been, delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal. We will be back as always.
Stopped in for the first time the other day for dinner with family. The inside of the building is fantastic, clean and comfortable with a touch of nostalgia. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating as well. The food was outrageously delicious and worth every penny for quality Italian cuisine. My favorite part was the affogato for dessert which is my favorite, but hard to find at local Italian restaurants. I will absolutely be back!
This was our first time going and we had to get takeout. It was so good, I had to call the restaurant and tell them. I've worked restaurant most of my life, from management, to cook, and kitchen manager. Our phone order was taken by Terry or Theresa (i believe). She was super nice, personable, and helped me with all my questions. We got the Family to-go deal #1. Penne a la vodka, Caesar salad and bread. We added the meatball app, calamari fritti, and bocconcini. My wife had to run in a pick up the food because i currently have a bum foot, but they offered to help walk out our order to the car. All these little things add up to why they've been around since the early 70's (if i read correctly). Everything was absolutely amazing. I can't wait till me and the wife can have a proper date night and sit for a meal. Thank you for making this family so happy.
First time going to this restaurant and it was probably one of the best restaurants I've been to. This was for a special occasion - my grandmother's birthday. There is a deal if there is a birthday, too. We had a lot of people but there was no problem with it. Everyone loved their food. The table also has a paper table cloth for drawing on which is great for children. I had a special that was the classic turkey feast, and it was AMAZING!! Same for my dessert of a rasberry dark and white mousse cake. The waiter was fantastic, too. Definitely entertaining and did more than what was needed. The place looks huge, but it is gorgeous inside. It was clean everywhere. Definitely would recommend this place for a special occasion. It's a bit pricey but worth it for great food!
Tonight was so awesome with some very special friends!!! When Jack and I first got to Frank Guido's Little Italy, we were happy to sit and chat with Frank Guido!!! Always love the stories he has and how he tells them! There were 8 of us for dinner and we all had a fantastic time. Drinks, wine, dinner, dessert, conversation, laughs and service.... all so wonderful! Thank you Cathie, Terri and Crystal for taking such good care of us... as always!
Service was amazing! From the host , bartender and server we felt very welcomed. The espresso martini was ammmazing ! To start they had a bread basket with a little surprise of a zeppoli which was hilarious and so good. The olive oil bread dip was top notch! To start we had calamari for our appetizer and it did not disappoint! Super tender and finally a place with tentacles! The white pizza with roasted garlic was fabulous. Airy thin crispy crust with delicious ricotta and roasted garlic. The Ceasar salad was great as well. For dessert we had the cannoli and it was the perfect finish to such a great meal. Very impressed
Great Italian food ,Franks a great host, great s lection
Went with a party. The food was delicious, and there was an abundance of it. Service started out great, but once the main course arrived, it began to slide. Overall, good experience. If you're all about the food, this place is for you.
Seems like there’s always a little bit something that I don’t like about my meal every time I go there. Although we do go there four or five times a year. Overall, it’s pretty good.
Food I felt was average. The salmon was too dry, the chicken parm was way too dry, and the bruchetta bread was way too hard. However, I gave it a three star for food because several other items were quite good. We may have gone during an off day. I do not plan to return.
Staff are wonderful! Food was pretty underwhelming. I got the battered shrimp with lemon fettuccini- sauce was almost water-y and the battered shrimp were soggy. Partner got the eggplant/chicken parm and his was a little watery too. He was also underwhelmed for the price.
Have been coming for years. Food is always delicious. However, the prices are getting too high. $10 for 3 meatballs? $6 for a bottled beer? $11 for glass of wine? Also my brother didn’t get his birthday cupcake. We will be coming less because of the prices going up and up.
We went to a work Christmas party. it was a party of 10. My wife and I were early, we told them who we were and she said it wasn't ready yet, we wanted to go to the bar and get a drink because we saw friends. Two minutes later or less the hostess came up to us and said that our table was ready we wanted to wait for my boss to get there because he was the host of the party, only proper in my book. She stood there till we got our drinks and escorted us up. Before we even got settled the food started coming out. There was a lot of food and it was really good but they were trying to take our plates away before we were even finished. Service was good but way rushed. It wasn't enjoyable because we were so rushed. We had no time what-so-ever between courses. Frank Guido's mother would not have been happy. No time to burp.
This place totally surprised us. Food was outstanding...servers seemed to be in the weeds a bit, but were helpful and attentive...layout is a bit off for a restaurant since it's not initiative what requires a reservation and what you can just walk up and sit at.
Food was great, vibe was tacky in a cute way. Staff was friendly. However, the staff kinda rushed us out. We had an 8pm res, and they checked on us every 5-10 minutes throughout our experience, which ended up with them asking if "we were finished" a lot. Felt like they were trying to get us out the door, but I'm not sure why cause the restaurant was pretty empty.
It's Christmas Eve and we wanted a good meal. I gave it 4 stars only because there were only 3 or 4 dishes my husband and I could eat as we are vegetarians. Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli was delicious. The Cheese Ravioli was good as well. House salad was fresh and tasty. I haven't been there in 10 years. This was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter, Dylan, was very attentive, fast, and friendly. Thank you Dylan. Merry Christmas 🎄
I don't know what to think of this place. We went a few days ago and my chicken parm was amazing. Some of the best I've ever had. Went a few days later and it was the complete opposite. I don't know if the regular chef called out or what happened but my wife's salad was very different as well. I've never seen a restaurant have such a variation in quality in the exact same week.
We had reservations for a party of 6. We went for lunch and we were the only customers in the restaurant. We have been to this restaurant many times. We asked the waitress for the check to be split 3 ways. The waitress said she couldn’t do that for us. We pointed out to her on the menu that it said their policy was that they will split the check 3 ways for a party of 6. The waitress had her manager come to our table. The manager was rude and hasty and said that splitting a check was up to the waitress. As stated above, we were the only customers. We left given the rudeness of the manager.
We went on Sunday for a nice lunch. Garlic bread with cheese was wonderful. Fettuccine alfredo was delicious, but the risotto special was subpar. Tasted like rice a roni with not much flavor. I tried to add parmesan cheese to it and as I was shaking it, the entire lid came off and I ended up with way more parmesan than anyone could ever want in it. Purpose of the story..remove the risotto from specials. It’s not great and make sure the parmesan cheese lids are on tight. $95 for 2 entrees 1 soda, and garlic bread. It's not worth it.
Surprisingly disappointing. Went to Frank Guido’s Little Italy last night for my birthday with my husband & adult daughter. We went somewhat late due to work. The service was very good as always, so were the drinks, appetizers & salads. My husband & daughter were happy with their entrees. I ordered one of my favorite dishes that they make, but it was not the same as I have had there previously. There was no taste of marsala wine & the dish was swimming in butter. I didn’t feel like I could send it back, because the kitchen was closing soon. And since it was my birthday, I knew I was not being charged for it anyway, so I let it go. Also, every other time we have been there for someone’s birthday, the waitstaff always bring out a free souvenir mug with a cupcake & a candle & sing “Happy Birthday”. My husband & daughter ordered dessert, but I did not, because I was expecting the mug & cupcake. They brought out my husband’s cheesecake with a candle in it & sang. No mug, no cupcake, no explanation. Maybe they ran out of cupcakes because it was late? Maybe they don’t do that anymore? An overall unsatisfying experience for a very expensive meal.
I’m super into pasta and Italian, if there is spaghetti 99.9% there isnt any for leftovers. Here for the price the spaghetti and meatballs were not gross it was good but I have had way better else where for less and had gotten more. Great people good clean location just the food seamed almost out of a can. The sauce was just not what I would expect from an Italian restaurant and I have had sauce from a real Nona, their sauce not even in the same ball park. The meat balls had little to no flavor and were mushy. I was told by older people that the food was great for ever ago but when I ate there expectations were wiped clean. People very nice place clean and tidy
I can’t really say that I’ve had an experience I walked in the door 20 minutes ago, and the young lady said I’ll be right with you. The place was completely empty. It was hardly anybody in there. She reappeared in about 10 minutes. Never came back over stood around look dumbfounded. Finally she went behind the bar and I went over and I asked her what the weight was. She said I don’t have a server for you.?? Completely unprofessional I walked out. It’s a shame too because I’ve heard good things about the food. Maybe your staff should be updated.
I called in to order my food because I have an emergency. The lady was very rude and I will not be your patronizing. This place ever again and the owners were very nice.People on my two other prior benefit's and very good food
We always enjoy our dinners every Friday night with Amanda (our favorite server) and Terry the manager. They always make us feel so special every Friday. If you’re looking for excellent food and friendly restaurant look no further.
I had such high hopes for this place. What an absolute disappointment. The service was awful, our server was a young lady and likely did not have much experience. She has a lot to learn, drinks were empty for a long time, no dessert was offered, just given the check. The food was “consumption”. It didn’t taste bad, we were able to eat it but it was not special in anyway. It was calories. I could have done the same or better at home. Major regret for coming here.
Friends of ours attempted to place a take-out order for a family who lost a loved one yesterday. It was a small order just a few standard dinners, and they were simply told no. Management needs to seriously reevaluate their staff and their responsibility to the public if they intend to operate as a public restaurant. This showed a clear lack of compassion, professionalism, and basic customer service. We will be sharing this experience and encouraging others to take their business elsewhere.
This restaurant is horribly mismanaged. Take-out is a basic part of running a modern restaurant, yet they couldn’t even fulfill a small, simple order. Wow, unacceptable! What made this experience worse was the complete lack of professionalism and empathy from management. I explained to the manager that the order was small and for a family who had just lost a loved one days before Christmas. Their response was that they “didn’t care why” and they would not make any exception. Good businesses and good people understand that take-out is not optional. This restaurant is neither. It's a core part of the service. Good managers also understand that how you treat people matters. This place failed on both counts. Poor service, poor management, and zero compassion. I will not be returning, and I hope others will take their business elsewhere as well!!
