This is a really nice Mexican restaurant. The salsa is great, slightly thick. Food was high quality and large servings. Guac seemed a little expensive but tasted good.

Customer service was outstanding. Our drinks never sat empty. Our waitress was kind, accommodating, and patient. . Chips, salsa, and chili con queso were great. Chips are thin and crispy, salsa was slightly spicy, and the queso was creamy. . I ordered the chicken fajita tacos (2) with lime cilantro rice and charro beans. Child ordered soft tacos (3) with Mexican rice and refried beans. Husband ordered enchiladas. All three plates were packed with flavor. . Beautiful atmosphere and decor. Upon entering the restaurant, it smells clean and is well lit. Menu offers vegetarian and gluten-free options as well as children's menu options. . All in all, I would return and recommend Abuelo's.

Went on a Wednesday, the place was pretty dead. We ordered the El Jeffe margarita and it was so tasty! We had the queso with meat and it was really good. For our entrees we had the steak fajitas tacos and the Laredo. The steak tacos were good. The Laredo was also good with the cilantro lime rice. The staff was nice and accommodating, thankfully we beat the little rush that they had as we were leaving. We will return again.

First time visiting Abuelo's, and i must say it was very good. The food was very well seasoned, cooked, and overall delicious. I had the two combo fajitas (chicken/steak), and the steak was right on point, cooked medium-well, and very juicy. The chicken had good flavors, but a bit on the dried side. The flour tortillas were freshly cooked and had the freshness taste, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. My only down side was the chicken was dried, and the servant was great, but I had to ask for simple things like straws for the drinks which she completely forgot, and remind her of several other items. However, overall it was a great experience, and i will definitely recommend them.

Went last sunday, I did not had high expectations. However, I was surprised the food was actually good. I had the shredded beef burrito w refried beans this was really good. The chips w the queso was awesome. Now, I did not like the red skin potatoes mash. The piña colada was good. But the mamtecado frito!!!! Dios mio. I love my server since she offered it because this dessert it's not on the menu, which I think they should add this. That was to die for, I can eat 10 mantecado fritos from Abuelos... I had them in the past different places but this one was top of the list. Cant remember my servers name, she was really nice with me and explained well each ingredients from menu which made my choices easier.

We had a blast at this Abuelo’s. We had a little child and they accommodated with us and provided us with everything we asked. Our waitress Dora was amazing. She went above and beyond to meet our needs. It was my birthday and they made sure that we are happy. Dora and the crew were professional and super nice. The food was great and big portion. Chips and salsa were freshly baked and prepared. I had so much fun and our little guy was happy too. I can’t emphasis how much we appreciate Dora. I hope she gets a promotion or something.

On vacation and my fiance and children brought me here for Mother's Day. The wait time was 1 hour for a table. We waited and let me just say. The waiter was absolutely one of the best waiters I've ever had I think his name was John can'tremember sorry.? . The Charro frijoles were out of this world delicious. I had the Sirloin Steak and enchilada plate. The steak was Oh My Gosh!!!! SO tender and flavorful, the papa's con Chile was so freaking good the Mexican rice I wasn't to fond of at all. The enchiladas were so good but the tortillas didn't seem heated up at all so I didn't even eat the tortilla. I ate the inside only. I tried a bit of everyone's food and it was all good. We had the sampler queso and it's a MUST try !!!!

This is a beautifully themed Mexican restaurant. The "open" courtyard with the statue of Abuelo is a real eye catcher and the wall murals are beautiful and full of details. The fake vegetation is pretty and pleasing to the eye. The food is TexMex and is very tasty. The portions are very filling too. We enjoyed our generous orders of fajitas. The flan they serve for desert was very good with a perfect texture. We had known about this place for a while but hadn't been to this part of town in a while to try it. We are very glad we did and look foward to try some of there other foods next time we visit.

First Time Visit – Absolutely Delightful! This was our first time visiting the restaurant, and we were thoroughly impressed. The dining area is beautiful, surrounded by stunning paintings and a captivating sculpture that adds to the charm of the place. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and took the time to share the history of the restaurant with us — such a thoughtful and informative touch. The food was absolutely delicious, full of rich flavors and cooked to perfection. We had no complaints at all. A special mention goes to the caramel flan — it was heavenly! Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with caramel. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to our friends and family. A wonderful experience all around!

We visit often from Utah and found this place last year and loved it. The 2nd visit did NOT disappoint. The food was served hot and well timed. Most importantly, it was delicious. I am not a soup person (at all), but it was so cold outside the day we visited that I decided to get some to warm me up. The BEST chicken tortilla soup I have ever had. And such a great kick to it! HIGHLY recommend. The nachos, enchiladas, tamales, and tacos were outstanding as well. To boot, the service was so great. Our server (I wish I could remember his name, but he was the bar tender as well) was so kind and attentive. It made the experience that much better. This has become a regular haunt for us when in the area.

From the moment I walked in, the vibrant decor and festive atmosphere made me feel right at home. The soft background music added to the charm, creating the perfect setting for a great meal. Wow! Anyone who follows my reviews, knows it takes a lot to impress us. We finally tried Abuelo's for an early dinner on Saturday. We both love Mexican food. This place put some interesting spins on the normal TexMex and it was all delicious. They give you 3 different salsas with your complimentary chips. A sweet citrusy Verde, regular which was very good and a smokey hot. The 3 dip appetizer spared us from having to choose which one to try and they serve them with pork rinds. I had the taco salad which was like nachos in a bowl and not at all soggy like a lot of them can be. Hubby has their grande platter which was so large we could have split it. Everything we tried was very flavorful and often surprised us at how good all the flavors complimented each other. Christina was our server and the bartender for the whole restaurant. She never skipped a beat. Extremely friendly and attentive. Our drinks were refilled before we could run out which was often since we were eating spicy foods. The food came out amazingly fast and everything was hot. We wished we lived closer because we would probably go very often. Highly recommended.

Summary: Abuelos is an excellent choice for enjoying authentic Mexican food in a beautiful and cozy setting, with a moderate to high price range. The food is spicy and comes with generous side dishes. The service is incredibly friendly, and finding parking is not a problem. As a starter, the nachos were a great choice, served with a variety of sauces, with the tomatillo verde being the favorite. The “El Grande” dish lives up to its name—well-stocked and full of flavor. To top it off, the red sangria was a hit: refreshing, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the experience.

We had lunch at Abuelos on 5/24/24. It was our 2st time here; it will not be the last. As we were brought to our table, we were very taken by the interior. You feel like you are in a courtyard. Our server John was great - attentive without being intrusive and had a dry humor we appreciated. He immediately brought chips and salsa for us to nibble on while we decided on lunch. I ordered the Dando burrito lunch plate and my husband ordered the charro beans and cilantro lime rice. The food was delivered promptly and hot. I do not recall having a meal where I had to let it cool for a moment. My burrito was delicious (as was the house margarita 😉). My husband (who does not like spicy foods or cheese) enjoyed his rice and beans. When the meal was over and we were ready to leave, John brought us drinks to go. I thought this was a very nice touch. Total cost of our lunch (before tip) $33.00.

The queso appetizer with chips and chicharróns was delicious. The shrimp was a little overcooked but not bad in taste, and the fajitas were 3 out of 5 stars. A little more seasoning on the fajita would have made a difference.

Ordered a side of beans and rice for our daughter, the ABUELO'S DIP SAMPLER (did double guac because we didn’t want queso diablo), hubby ordered MI ABUELO'S MANJAR and I got PECHUGA CON CALABAZA. The beans are really good and so is the rice, can tell it’s fresh! The sampler was really good, I enjoyed how they had pork rinds instead of just chips, I’ve never thought of that before but it was life changing to try that with queso! So! Good! My hubby really seemed to like his dish, I barely tasted a bite of it, but what I did taste was good! I’m really picky about ground beef options in Mexican restaurants, but this was quite good! My dish was really good! My waitress recommended it and I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn’t crazy spicy which I personally appreciated, but I think she left the actually chilis out which helped in terms of the heat. All in all, it was good and I recommend! I’m sure we will go back again in the future!

Ariel our server was great. 3 of the 4 dinners were good. My chicken steak and shrimp fajita could have been better. Steak was nothing but fat and grizzle. Rice was stale and onions were mush.

I went with a very large group, of like 20 people! and we sat in a secluded room, the food was very good. It is not the first time that I go, but what I did see was that the portions are now smaller even tho they have the same price. I was disappointed in that. On the other hand, we had a good time👍🏻

S

The food tasted good overall, very traditional and flavorful. The guacamole in the appetizer was mostly lettuce, so there's a heads up which was unfortunate. The sea bass was good with the Sherry sauce. We recommend it. The server was subpar. When he was on the floor he was on his phone and chatting with another server mostly. We had to ask for napkins, refills, etc and look ask another server to get him twice. He was a decent person but not attentive at all. We went for lunch so there were only two other tables that belonged to other servers there.

Nice place. Food was 5.5/10 but the desserts were out of this world. Bar and server did not communicate well. So, there is a little confusion with our drinks.

Ok, so I hadn't been here in over 2 years, because of a bad experience on my first visit. You know what they say. First impressions last and sometimes because of our stubbornness, we can miss out on something good. I went here for lunch with my buddy who was in the area. He said let's go to Abuelo's. Immediately, I was like nah, why don't we go to Fish Bones instead. He was good with that, but I could really tell that he really wanted to eat there, so I called him back and said what the hell, it's been over 2 years, let's give them another chance. Everything was good. From the moment we walked in and greeted by the host, our server, drinks and food were all on point. Great portions! I had a blackberry mojito drink they have on their menu, refreshing and tasty. Food was out promptly and we were in and out, as a lunch service should be. I was really amazed with the quality of the food, which was my issue with them last time. Is you ask for hot sauce they will offer Cholula or Tabasco, but if you really want the good stuff ask the server for their red house sauce. 🔥. All in all, I can say I was pleasantly pleased and happy that I gave them another chance.

Celebrated Cinco de Mayo here with my mom and sister. We had an excellent server and the food was good too. Post was kind and seated us within 5 to 10 minutes. We also ordered a side of guacamole and a coronita. For dinner we ordered the fajitas trio and it was enough to feed all three of us.

Took my mom out to this place. It's been years since I have been here but the food is as good as I remember. The decor is nice and it has good atmosphere. It's a little more upscale then your average mexican restaurant but still affordable. I have to say I have had better food for less money. All in all it was a good lunch.

Private party experience: great! 4/5 I attended a private event for a company and the food and service was great. Drinks: My wife had a sangria swirl, which did look different from the actual picture, however was delicious. I had a blackberry mint mojito which was also delicious, reminded me of a jolly ranger drink. Food: For our entrees, my wife had The Grande which includes a little bit of everything, this is a great entree to share for 2 since it's the best bang-for-your-buck, lots of food 1 great price. I had the steak fajita enchilada, it was very savory and I cleaned my plate fairly quickly (I think I was very hungry) Service: Since we had a private room for the company event, we were immediately seated. The waitress was great, she attended to all of our needs even when we were a large party. Verdict: My overall experience was great however the only reason I have it at a 4/5 was the timing on the food and service. We were a party of about 20 and we only had 1 waitress which dragged the whole ordering process, drinks, etc. so our stay lasted a while unfortunately.

Man, this place goes a little downhill each time I visit.. and that makes me sad. Let’s start with the positives... Positives: Really cool looking restaurant inside! It is starting to feel a little worn and dated but overall it is super nice for a casual chain restaurant. Service is usually very good. Quick and friendly! Love that you get 3 salsa choices with your chips! Negatives: Food - there is just much better Mexican food now in the area. Even with chains, Chuy’s has this place beaten hands down. When it first opened there was less competition. My fajitas were worse than what you would get at Chili’s and those are pretty bad. Prices - way, way, way high for what you get. I shouldn’t feel like I’m paying theme park prices in a chain restaurant in the loop. Overall, I’m leaning more and more to not returning which bums me out.

Ambiance is very classy, definitely come dress nice, not 5-star restaurant nice but more casual nice, if you know what I mean. They start off serving you a trio platter of salsas and a bowl of thin crisp chips which I actually prefer. I love that they bring extra plates too in case of spills. The server is very attentive but not too over the top attentive, which I really appreciate. Can I say the decorations here make me feel like I am in another country, in the Bahamas or something like that. It makes me feel like I am in a 5 star restaurant. Strawberry lemonades don't look like they come from a fresh strawberry purée but they still have a good flavor to them. I ordered the avocado enchiladas and the server told us plate was super hot before handing over, I really appreciate all the details in their service. The avocado enchiladas are very soft and the combination of the cheese and avocado was surprisingly very delicious. The refried beans are a bit dried out, rice was scrumptious. And the touch of the red pepper and lettuce leaf was nice too. Over all, if you like Tex-Mex food, you can assure yourself that this is the place for you.

Food was subpar, to say the least. Sangria was store bought straight from the bottle. My husband and I both had heartburn and disappointment after this meal. Tamales were bland and tasted stale. Would not return.

We found this place as we were heading home from SeaWorld Orlando visit- the place is well laid out & a very interesting look inside- must visit to see - now on to the food - i ordered the Green Chile Pork Chimichanga & my wife ordered the vegetarian Quesadilla- both items cost were excessive for the portion- my chimichanga was very tasty though; however my wife's meal look like a kid's meal- that was a very poor showing of a Quesadilla- i attached and additional photo of one we get at Salsa's for clarification of our view - not sure we were ever go back to this location- definitely didn't get our money's worth- you can see her Quesadilla has very few vegetables and even less cheese- highly disappointed Further - I was sent a reply from the owner on July 1st to send my contact information to them to discuss further - no response from my sending them my contact information - pathetic customer service response! Definitely will tell others about this place! One whole week later and no response from the email with my contact information was given - so very disappointed for this customer lack of service

I come here once a year, every year in January. It's 7 years running and they still serve the most pathetic cheese enchiladas in the USA. Melt the cheese please in your cheese enchiladas. (Like ABUELO'S in Midland, TX.). This place is brutal. Cheese enchiladas are WAY under heated! They come out warm. Always. Should be bubbly on top before removing from oven. A 2nd grader could prepare this better. It's either lazy cooks, ignorance , or they are microwaved. All three are unacceptable. The service was impeccable! Great waiter.... efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and a great sense of timing. Ambiance at all their locations' is fantastic.

While the Abuelo's Dip Sampler was alright (chicharron with 3 kinds of dips), I was not impressed on their take of quesadillas. The cheese was overwhelming- and it was way more than the actual meat. It made it really salty. The rice on the side was salty too and the quesadillas made it worse. I prefer seeing the tortillas than it being drowned with cheese. And of course, the meat is the most important thing. Even that I did not like the way they made it. The server was friendly and the restaurant was clean and modern. If you're looking for a different take on Mexican cuisine, you can probably try this restaurant. Just set your expectations as it's on the pricey side and to be honest, it's not really that authentic. There's other Mexican restaurants out there- take El Tenampa as an example- if you want a delicious Mexican food and yet on the cheaper side, this place is definitely a must-try. Also, it was quite weird not seeing an Horchata at a Mexican restaurant. They should add it to the menu.

I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas. The menu said “fresh chicken” but there is no way this chicken was fresh, it was very much a prefabricated type of chicken sliced up. Very fast food like. The platter was delivered sizzling and the server put it right under my face I had to push it away. There was so much steam. The onions and peppers were over cooked and the meat was covered in a sauce that I later found out was teriyaki sauce. If you don’t like that or like the sweetness of it tell them! I had no idea it was going to be in the dish and it ruined it for me. This is not any kind of Tex Mex I’ve ever had in fact I don’t know what type of Mexican food it was. I didn’t enjoy the three salsas either. One was mild, one was sweet and one was a little spicy with a smoky flavor. I did like that the chips were thin. The sour cream, guacamole and pico was okay, the guacamole had started to darken in color suggesting it had been sitting out for a while. The skinny margarita was okay. The server was very nice. The restaurant has a hacienda feel. They have a very limited lunch menu, mostly just enchiladas so I ended up ordering from the main menu.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! I’ve been here before in 2014. The food and decor was old. Read some great reviews online recently and thought I should give it another try. So I ordered it through DoorDash and I was so disappointed. Not only was the Juarez dish poorly packaged with the beans all over the tamale that’s in the far end but the food had no flavor. My husband had the steak fajitas which was packaged very neatly but again no flavor. So bland so sad. I will never come back. And wayyyyy too over price for this hot pile of garbage.

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WANT REAL MEXICAN FOOD !!! This is an American/ Puerto Rican restaurant, hostess was super nice, the older woman seating us was rude to her. I just wanted tacos 😅Mother’s Day I wanted real Mexican tacos … we’re at the loop so I’m like cool let’s go to abuelos 😑 Kissimmee area is hit or miss with food and this was a complete fail !! A FLOP !!! They serve nachos like Chili’s, you know the big corn chip piled with toppings and it was burnt 🙄 like yall have tortilla chips and gave me this ??? no thank you, waitress gets the manager, MANAGER TELLS ME “THIS IS AMERICAN MEXICAN, you have to ask for old school nachos”, I ask her can they make it she says yes, my kids get their food and it’s covered in bagged cheese !? the yellow shredded stuff that’s oily and hard once it’s baked, refried beans were cold and old on both plates 😡 The burrito was warm, the waitress forgot to tell them NO tomato’s My simple tacos - when I tell you, I made sure to ask for none of the toppings, I specified - steak tacos with uncooked onions and cilantro, corn tacos, (in Florida you have to say corn), when I tell you she came out with these nasty flour tacos and cooked onions with chunks of cold oily beef !!! I had enough !!! As I’m going to pay the manager and the man with the red shirt are staring me down, in my face, and they didn’t stop as I made eye contact 😩 like they were insulted 🤦‍♀️ it was so weird 🤣I paid, gave the waiters a $20 tip, and left the food 🙋‍♀️
