We lucked out by getting a table next to the glass with a view. All the tables had been full. The potatoes and vegetarian omelet were good. The eggs were a bit softer than I like. The sourdough was tasty. The iced Chai was also delicious.

Such a great place for breakfast/lunch! Simple food offerings but done well and big portions. You can’t beat the view and atmosphere and the chance to take a stroll on the beach after lunch. Would definitely come back!

Wandering in Paradise

Amazing brunch with a breathtaking view at Caroline’s Seaside Cafe in La Jolla Shores! Tasty iced cappuccino and mocha. The food was yummy, we liked the beef short rib hash and eggs, curried chicken salad sandwich, and cinnamon roll. Very friendly staff. Expect to wait in line and need some time for your food to come out, but with a view like that you should be entertained. Dog friendly as well. Recommend!

This restaurant by the beach is a great place to relax with a beautiful ocean view, even though it’s busy. The atmosphere is calm, and the staff is friendly and quick. The food is delicious—the strawberry salad is fresh and tasty, and the burger is juicy and filling. If you want good food, great service, and a nice view, this is the place to go!

hadn’t been here in years but it’s still just as good! amazing location right by the beach so if there’s no seating (which there hardly is because of how busy and popular this place is) then grabbing takeout and eating it by the ocean is a good substitute.

This place is lovely! Lots of seating, with beachside views, very casual environment and laid-back. The food is great, coffee was ok. They don’t allow studying with computers or books. Parking is very hard to find. Otherwise it’s a great place to grab a meal.

We love playing casual volleyball games at La Jolla Shores Beach, and I looked up nearby food spots, perfect find! This place is great. Just a heads-up: there’s usually a long line if you’re dining in. But if you’re ordering to-go, the line is much shorter, which worked better for us since we wanted to head back, relax, and enjoy the beach with friends and family. Honestly, the food is worth trying! We loved the tuna sandwich and the beef short ribs hash with eggs. Just note: you can’t get the mimosas for takeout. I didn’t get a chance to take photos of everyone because we were so hungry, but it was definitely worth it. I especially loved the tuna sandwich with the side, just not the salad, haha! I like salad, just not after a game. The front desk staff (I forgot her name) was super friendly and let us know we didn’t need to line up with dine-in customers. There are two lines: one for dine-in and another for takeout/delivery. The takeout line is definitely the way to go.

The views of this cafe are spectacular. Its worth the wait. Stopped by on a busy Sat morning for lunch. Be ready to wait in line to eat. Lines get long and food took about 50 mins. Thankfully, our lattes came super fast. Free parking is hard to find on the street but you can park in the lot. Download the app and pay $4.20 per hr. We ordered a Hazelnut Latte, a Chai Latte and a watermelon juice. Our daughter loved the blueberry pancakes. We had Albacore tuna melt with fries and a vegan avocado toast.

The place has a very nice view of the beach if you sit in their outdoor seating. There was a little bit of a line on the a Friday morning, but surprisingly didn’t take too long. Their staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. One plus of waiting in the line is that you get to see what to order before they take your order. The food has good portions and is very nice. A plus is that they have vegan options. One downside is that there aren’t reservations, even though the line wasn’t too bad, and that they don’t have smoothies, which is a major downside for some.

Come for the views and not the food. The atmosphere is absolutely stellar. It's a gorgeous cafe. And has an amazing view of the beach. The sourdough toast was really good. The rest of the food wasn't great. I had the roast beef hash and it was fairly bland, so was my significant other's southwest scramble. Also why is there only one restroom? There was a line for the restroom the whole time.

They seem a bit unnecessarily strict with their ordering and seating system. Especially considering it's gloomy Monday morning and their is no line and plenty of open tables. They have a cafe order set up, but you can not sit unless you order food from their seating* menu. Also i only ordered a coffee and it stilk took 20mins to come out.. Honestly this place put a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure I'd be a returning customer. Pinpoint is a super cute cafe up the street with better view that id prefer to visit.

Took 45 minutes to get our food, one salad and a burger. Tiny menu and horrible service. It was not busy when we ordered either.

Ordered food ahead of time online as I was traveling by myself with my 1 year old and 2 year old. On arrival, no line, open tables, and only a few people around. I got my food from inside, sat down at a table, grabbed a high chair and started to feed my kids their pancakes. The manager approached me and told me I had to leave - “You can’t eat food here that you ordered online, people will get jealous your food is ready before theirs.” Simple question : where’s the kindness? I ordered food from YOUR restaurant. I have two small kids ready to eat. No lines, open tables. You tell me to leave due to other customers potentially getting jealous? Ridiculous. First time in my life I’ve experienced this level of (lack there of) service. Please don’t go here. You’re supporting a manager who treats people without a care in the world.

Im local to San Diego and I always walk my dogs in this area. and always said that I'll stop by to get a coffee from this spot. So I did stop by and ordered coffee. As I received my cup and went to look for a seat , 1 minute later I was approached by a manager and she started that all tables and seat are for customers that purchase food only. I really felt so unappreciated. As a customer because I just bought something from thier menu. She gave us a minute . So we left right away. I was treated unfair and I was treated wrongly. Just for that I will not be returning. I will also send a letter to the school (UCSD) property owner for this unfair treatment.
