We got a bite and a drink here before our kayak tour- it was a great beachy vibe, delicious tacos, and a good margarita! The place was huge and wasn’t too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Nathan helped us out at the bar and he was really nice. We ended up doing fish tacos and shrimp tacos. Both were so good! The fish tacos were a nice chunk of fish and are not to be missed.

Excellent spot in La Jolla, non fussy and very local friendly... Always has a good mix of people. The food here is fantastic, prepared with love and extra focus on ingredients. Just ask your server about allergens and they will be happy to talk about it. It's a bar and restaurant with extremely capable bartenders and wonderful chefs. You will have a good time here, 10/10 have never been disappointed. My group were a gaggle of swimmers, everyone ordered unique drinks and menu items and everyone went home happy with their selections. Must try the nachos!

Awesome food and drinks! Staff was very friendly and had great customer service skills and sense of urgency. Stopped in after a kayak and snorkel tour and it really hit the spot. Would definitely return. Great vibes!

My first visit but not my last. Service was fantastic, the food was amazing, and being open-air near the ocean meant there was lots of foot traffic, happy people, and fresh air. The drinks were So Tasty and the food was some of the best I've had. Expensive isn't always best and the best isn't always expensive! We stopped for a quick lunch. Place is nice with good service and friendly staff. We sat outside which was good. No wait. We ordered pretty simple food (fish and chips). So im only raiting on that. The chips were good and crispy. The fish batter was not that good (Too heavy). And too oily. Overall a nice place to stop by. And again Only rating one item on their menu.

Cool spot for a beer after a beach day or to watch a sporting event. Fast service; we had the fish tacos, poke, and the cheeseburger; the food was ok, average.

Shorerider sits in a cute, well-lit stretch of La Jolla, surrounded by a lively cluster of restaurants—perfect for a casual evening out. The menu had good variety, and the mezcal-based drink was excellent. Definitely one of the highlights. Tacos were solid, though I wish the salsa had more depth. The chicken quesadilla was also tasty—not overly cheesy, which worked well. Service wasn’t bad—understandable given how busy it was—but it did feel a bit stretched at times. One thing to note: even though the place is listed as open till 10 PM, the kitchen stopped taking orders by 9 PM, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, good food, great drinks, and a lively vibe. A solid 4-star experience—just make sure to get there earlier if you’re planning a late dinner!

Great service and vibe. 10/10 Drinks: great, delicious margaritas plus, they have some variety with the mocktails. 3/10 Starter: we got the Brussel sprouts. It wasn't crispy, cold, too much going on flavor wise. Probably not in season. Food: I got the poke bowl, hawaiian style/ ahi. And it doesn't taste like oahu hawaiian style poke you can get at foodland or onos but it was good enough. Rice was def cali portion and it comes with some side chips. (Please see photos) My got the shrimp, carne asada, and first tacos. He states the best one is the carme asada, while the fish and shrimp were tied. The tacos were socal style surfer tacos and nothing at all like the kind you get from a downtown or SD street style tacos. Vibes: very beachy and touristy. Can be fun with groups and family friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Great food. Decent service. Fun, chill atmosphere. Lunch with my niece and kids (teens). We had the ahi nachos (excellent), poke bowls (delicious), and taco plate (very good). Service was spotty, but friendly.

We enjoyed great guacamole, street tacos and margaritas near the beach two different days. The first day we sat outside and the service was slow but kind. The 2nd day at the bar and one of the bartenders - I think the one that was supposed to be taking care of our area, was pretty disengaged and acted as if she didn’t want to take care of us. After quite some time I asked someone else passing by if I could place an order. I ordered a 2nd drink from another person passing by. I asked that bartender if I could get more water when she had an opportunity - received an annoyed look, and I had to ask yet another person to close us out later. Unacceptable service on that 2nd day.

Great location near the bear in La Joya I had the wahoo fish and chips, the fish is very dense almost chicken like in texture. It was a good flavored fish and the aoli sauce for dipping is delicious! We also had a cheese burger and was up to par. I would go back if I was a local. The service was excellent and we got a table right away.

We popped into Shore Rider on a whim after a beach day, and it turned out to be a great choice! It was busy, but the space is large and open, so it didn’t feel overwhelming. We ordered the fish tacos and chips with guacamole, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out fairly quickly despite the crowd. Our margaritas took a bit longer to arrive, but the bar was definitely slammed as there was a Padres game on, so that could have been part of it. What really stood out to me was how family- and dog-friendly the place is. It’s clean, casual, and perfect if you’re out with a group or want to bring the kiddos or pups along. They also had a solid beer selection for those who prefer brews over cocktails. Great place to kick back and enjoy a casual, coastal evening.

Had lunch with family here. I really wanted to give them more stars because I was enjoying the kale salad with chicken but there was a hair in it and it completely ruined my appetite. Brownie points for them because they didn’t charge me for it.

Rarely do I take the time to write a poor review but our group was trying to get drinks and the servers made the experience so unnecessarily difficult and unpleasant. This might be the only bar in San Diego to not let you order drinks at the bar and scold you if you try to do so. Safe to say we won’t be coming here again.
