I came to Marketplace Grille today for the first time since 2019 and was so happy that it was still the amazing food I remembered. I told my co-worker that outside of my Mom’s home cooked food, this is easily top 3 Mediterranean restaurants in San Diego. I highly recommend the chicken plate or bowl. They cook the chicken kabob on coals, and it’s phenomenal. I would get the herb rice, and always get the side of hummus with the pita bread. It is amazing hummus. Owners and servers are nice, they’ve owned it forever. Great location, very quiet, lots of outdoor tables. This has quickly become my favorite lunch spot in La Jolla.

Best place for Mediterranean food in town, and being that it's in La Jolla, almost guarantees a nice cool coastal temperature. Always fresh, always delicious. I've been a patron since 2001; my wife loves this place and will never hesitate to make the drive from Lemon Grove for their chicken skewers plate or Greek salad. May I suggest a personal favorite? Tony's special! I also highly recommend their salmon bowls. Our last visit, just 2 days ago, was to the Carmel Valley location and they impressively manage to consistently deliver the same delicious culinary experience. The same can also be said for the Mira Mesa location.

The flavor of the chicken and veggie kabobs are simply amazing at this place! Even my 10 year old son said it was the best he ever had. He gobbled down the zucchini and squash that was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The hummus is equally amazing with the pita and rice. This is my go-to place for lunch or dinner!

We Love marketplace grill. The owner and employers are always so friendly and the food is simply wonderful. If you are looking for great food at reasonable price in La Jolla, this is the place to go. Fillet, salmon and baba ganoush are wonderful.

A delightful surprise! The salmon and tabouli salad was absolutely delicious, and the herbed rice was perfectly flavorful. Even the fries were amazing. The service truly stood out. Everyone was so friendly and incredibly attentive. They were always one step ahead, lighting the heater without us asking, bringing extra sauces, and even offering complimentary soup to try. It made the whole experience feel thoughtful and welcoming. I highly recommend!

There is no indoor sitting, so dine in would be only possible weather permitting. Food is great, very tasty, lots of flavor. They had a lot of people working and staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is my first time in San Diego and wanted to try a Mediterranean resturant as an alternative to Mexican and sea food options. I think it exceeded my expectations and I really liked the meat. However, the brown rice was poorly cooked and was oily. I did not like the samosa as well. Both location and service were okay.

Mixed experience. The food was delicious, but a tad pricey and lacking. The service was really great. They brought lots of complimentary pita bread and hummus upon request. The chicken wrap didn’t have a lot of flavor and came with a hair. The salmon bowl didn’t have enough salmon. It was mostly rice and parsley, a bit too much parsley. The corn on the cob was burnt. The chicken plates are probably your best bet, although you’ll be left wanting more chicken too. Overall, the funny and kind employees make it a more pleasant experience than not.

We had chicken wrap which had no salt ,was stuffed with lettuce and we had to search to find chicken pieces. Fries were disaster with no sauce served . Had to go to the counter to ask for salt which was placed to the right of counter. This place was a disappointment but I think they will be healthy choice for the diabetics and hypertension.
