Very basic, but great food. Be prepared to translate the menu, listen to a man speaking very fast Spanish & eat traditional food at very cheap prices! We don’t speak enough Spanish to understand about 95% of what the server said, but we managed to have some great food & wine!
Such a good place. Their wine is amazing as well as the ropa vieja, and their desserts. 10 out of 10. It's worth it to come that far.
Amazing local food. We had ropa vieja and escaldon. Huge potions and fresh products. A must try if you visit Tenerife
Great wine and food. Loved the authentic atmosphere. Was a highlight on our trip to Tenerife. We arrived mid-afternoon on a Friday and were able to sit down right away. Great chance practice my Spanish; you wont get far with English. 😊
A truly authentic Canarian experience. Guachinche Los Gómez offers a small, no-frills menu focused solely on traditional Canarian dishes - exactly what you’d hope for in a local spot. Generous portions at very fair prices. Tip: They only accept cash or immediate bank transfers, so come prepared!
I met this place through the Viaje Markastle channel and especially through Pepe who lets you know that this is the best or one of the best guachinches in Tenerife. The truth is, the red wine was great, the sirloin was to lick your fingers, the old clothes spectacular, the step first time I try it, I will check it when I visit some other place because they say they do it better in other places. The atmosphere was great, a totally country site, with impressive views, you can see its crops, it was Thursday and yet it was quite full. The price is very good and very well served. Anyway, it was very good. I understand that it is full and it is very difficult to park and you also have to wait a long time to enter, however, we arrived straight to eat because they had empty tables and then when we left it was full. Highlight that there was no chop.
Excellent local Guachinche - go for the local hospitality - you will not be disappointed. We were 4 adults and 3 kids and everyone enjoyed the plentiful food, drink and atmosphere - we shared everything family style. We ate the Bistec (beet steak, tenderized and grilled) and the Solomillo (pork loin seasoned well, marinated and grilled over the charcoal) along with the grilled local cheese and some fries. We drank 1L of the local vino tinto (€7) and some beer. We took home plenty of leftovers and left feeling very full. Would definitely visit again. Note that they do not accept cards so best to bring cash. There is no wifi.
The food was by far the best we had in tenerife. It still surprises me on how some people base their review. It is a rustic little restaurant in the side of the mountain so expect that it’s not a michelin side setup, and it shouldn’t be. They only have a few servers and by the time we were there we had to queue for 30mins so the place was packed, yet the service was sufficent enough but of course we had to wait a little bit, but come on, it was well worth it! You go into a restaurant because you want to eat something nice, not because everything else is perfect… based in that los gomez is absolutely worth it! The chips with the fried egg is sublime, but the grilled cheese with the salsa verde was also a hit. We also had the grilled chuleta (pork chop) which was grilled into perfection and the croquetas were also a must try. All in all, expect that it’s very very rustic place, but if you’re into some very decent classic canarian cooking with a glass of red this is your place!
We came here as part of a small food tour, and the food was absolutely outstanding! Everything was packed with flavour, in particular the red and green mojo sauces, the grilled soft white cheese, and the potato, pulled meat and chickpea stew. The chargrilled pork was also excellent as was the lightly sweetened cream and caramel dessert, reminiscent of a banoffee pie minus the banana. Our lunch came with some very quaffable white and red wines, and generous portions of crusty bread. Excellent value for money overall, and truly memorable, knock-it-out-of-the-park delicious, authentic Canarian food.
I've been there in February with my girlfriend, very typical with the best food we ate during our holiday. Ropa vieja is a must and it was one of the best thing I ate in my life. I recommend this place to everyone, they speak Spanish but the son talks English too. Also the red wine was really good.

If you want to eat a typical Canarian food you should go to a Guachinche and this place is one of them. It's a rustic restaurant by the vineyard with a car park. Ladies do not wear high heels as you will walk on stones before you get inside and the place is typically old and rustic so you are better off with flats and casual clothes. There is no paper menu and you will be told what's on offer. To drink you have an option of either soft drink or their own vine. The price for the food is very nice in comparison with standard restaurants. We ordered various plates and shared them out so we were able to taste everything. You can even order half portion as they are very flexible. It's homemade food being served to you so do expect that not a fancy restaurant style. Food was nice but it does take a while so be prepared for that as they get very busy. Staff was very friendly. If you are coming with a baby and the pushchair it's not a problem they can also warm up the food, however there is no baby changing facility.

Nice and simple set up. It was late afternoon and there was not many dinners, just a group of girls, celebrating an occasion. The food was nice in general, but my husband found a dead fly in his chickpea dish and the bread rolls were too dry and old. It looks like nothing gets waisted in this place. Apart from that,it was good experience over all.
Food and both white and red wine were very good, service on the other hand was poor. We had to ask 3 times to get the remainder of our dishes and the waiter would keep running away in the middle of the questions. I thought price was affordable but not so much. We had to wait for the checks forever too, ended up going to the counter and still had to wait a while to be able to pay We saw several other tables leaving waiting to be served. The place was less than half empty
If you dont have a strong stomach dont go here, it’s a restaurant in the village with 5 items on menu. Food itself its not so bad but everything was very dirty and grose. Waiter has problems with hygene and no one speaks english. While we were eating the whole staff sat on the table next to use and ate as well. We had to wait for the waiter to finish his food so he could bring rhe reciept to us that was just a number written on a piece of paper
Had high expectations as thought would be somewhere locals would go but not! My guess here “got big house and land, let’s turn into a restaurant”. The place is super dirty, sticky tables, total chaos on kitchen area! The view it’s an old plastic dog house, right next to a table!!! Food was brought to table cold but was okay and bread was stale. Service is not even slow, there isn’t any! Billing system once you manage to get their attention is a mystery. Waiter spends a while with a piece of paper adding what he think we had and just give you an amount!!! We added up and way higher then prices on wall but didn’t argue as would take ages again!!!!Only cash or local bank transfer accepted. Doubt if this place even has a license…
Overall I was not impressed with this place. The waiter couldn't be bothered speaking to us(my wife is a native Spanish speaker so it wasn't a language barrier) and he basically told us to order chips with fried egg. It genuinely felt like this and the croquettes were the only dishes they had. The place felt genuine and traditional but I would not recommend it to anyone.
I am so sad to have this unpleasant memory with the restaurant. I was really excited to visit this place, as I saw it in reviews, me and my boyfriend came on foot from La Orotava just to eat here. And yes, as I expected the food was excellent and the red wine too. But as we arrived, I noticed that I won't be able to pay by card, and we didn't have any cash with ourselves. I tried to explain my problem to the waiters at the very beginning, nobody spoke English, and they refused to try to understand me when I tried with google translator. Finally, they showed me a paper which said that I can transfer the money, which was okay for me so we continued ordering food. After finishing the meal, I asked for the IBAN number, and I did my transfer immediately. I showed them the validation of the payment, but I knew that it would take time to them to get the money, as I have a foreign bank account. They refused to understand me again, just showing gestures of not accepting my payment. I asked for help, more guests tried to tell them in spanish that I paid, here's the validation but it will take time. They refused to understand them either. Finally, I really nice local man paid for our meal in cash, so we could leave. Basically, we paid double, once my transferation, and once the man's cash. Next morning, I checked my account, and the money did got received by the restaurant... They didn't transfered it back to me. Huge disappointment not in the food, but in acting like human-beings.
