With all the craziness that comes when visiting theme parks, I’m so glad we had a chance to stop here and have a nice dinner. Food was delicious, our waitress was so nice and helpful. Our dessert tacos were a little bit too hard for our taste but the inside was yummy.Restaurant overlooks the river where the water taxis travel from Saphire Falls to Universal. It was a very nice dinner date for my hubby and I! I do suggest you get there early or make sure you have a reservation because it gets packed.

We had the breakfast buffet on Saturday, December 9, 2023 and we were quite impressed. The $29 per person price included the buffet, omelet station, coffee, water, juice, and other non-alcoholic beverages. The service was swift and friendly. Everything was fresh and well-prepared. Highlights included the omelet station where the chef took the time to griddle the ingredients before adding them to the omelet - so nice to have grilled onions as opposed to raw. The fruit selection was robust and full of berries. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a filling breakfast prior to a long day in the parks.

This place is so good! Definitely recommended for all day. We got an amazing brunch after Christmas, service is super nice and fast. Food is delicious, a lot of different options. There is no gluten free sweet option, but amazing atmosphere. View is spectacular. Staff is super helpful. He brought me Nutella, when I asked, even if it was not on the open buffet.

Food was very good. Margarita flat bread was more like a pizza as crust was thick. Chicken Caesar salad was excellent and very filling. Wait staff was very attentive. They did have vegetarian options and asked us if we had any food allergies. Definitely worth checking out.

The interior is gorgeous, with a blue and white theme throughout. The menu caters to all tastes, and you may even be lucky enough to receive a special offer menu which is 3 courses for $45. The complimentary bread is delicious. The empanada starter was so good. The rotisserie chicken was really good and allows you to pick three sides!!!! The rice is a great choice. The rum cake is our personal favourite from dessert. I highly recommend visiting here for dinner, even if you come from a different hotel, as the water taxi stops directly outside. Service was fast and friendly.

My experience at Amatista Cookhouse was amazing! We dined to celebrate my Aunt's birthday and we were all impressed with the ambiance, customer service, and food choices. We originally went for magical dinning; however, our appointment was at 2pm and magical dinning is after 5pm. Our table had an phenomenal server (Chris Evans) who did a great job explaining the menu and had great suggestions on eating options. Chris was kind to offer to take group photos of our party. The restaurant has a great view and amazing scenery. We will definitely dine here again.

During our visit at Universal's Sapphire Falls Resort, we had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Amatista Cookhouse, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences of our trip — thanks in large part to the exceptional service we received from Hiwot and Tash. From the moment we were seated, both servers made us feel welcomed and well cared for. Without delay, they offered us freshly brewed coffee, chilled juices, and refreshing water. It was clear they took pride in ensuring that every guest started their morning with comfort and ease. Though it’s a buffet-style breakfast — and a delicious one at that, featuring an impressive array of items — what truly stood out was the personalized attention Hiwot and Tash offered. They kindly let us know they’d be happy to bring special items such as waffles or turkey bacon directly to our table if we wanted them. The omelette station was a standout as well, with custom-made omelettes prepared to your liking, cooked fresh and packed with flavor. Hiwot and Tash checked in on us often, never intrusively, but always with a warm smile and genuine care. Their attentiveness, positive energy, and professionalism elevated the entire experience. What amazed us even more was learning that Hiwot is still in training — a surprise, considering the top-tier service she delivered. Her natural attentiveness and poise made it feel like she’d been doing this for years. Thanks to these two incredible ladies, breakfast at Amatista Cookhouse was not just a meal, but a delightful way to start the day. If you’re staying at Sapphire Falls, don’t miss this spot — and if you're lucky enough to be served by Hiwot or Tash, you're in for a real treat.

My father and I spent the week at Universal Studios and stayed at Loews Sapphire Resort. On our first day, my father and I were craving a burger 🍔. So, we decided to to try Amatista Cookhouse in our hotel. The restaurant is very pretty. It is all blue and white and very bright thanks to the many windows 🪟. We ordered two burgers 🍔 and after a little wait, they finally arrived. YUMMY! The burgers were excellent. The meat was cooked perfectly and the brioche bun was soft and flavorful. This burger is a MUST TRY! My father and I had an amazing lunch and will be back for more next time!

This was an excellent place to dine during our stay! We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and we were so pleased to be offered healthy options like overnight oats and a great selection of fresh fruit as well as all the usual buffet staples. Dinner was a little pricey, but the food was fantastic. What really made our experience though was the incredible wait staff. Eric and the team of servers went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was above and beyond our expectations. Definitely recommend!

You need a reservation here. We didn’t know and got shocked by a possible 1 hour wait. The restaurant wasn’t ever busy so we didn’t realize. The team was very accommodating and quickly got us a seat. Top notch service. Food was amazing.

We had such a lovely lunch here. We tried the rotisserie chicken which comes with 2 sides, we opted for the plantains and the yucca fries which were crispy and flavorful. The fish sandwich was fantastic and we also had rum cake which was baked to perfection - if you are questioning to order dessert, DO IT. Looking forward to returning!

We enjoyed a lovely treat on our way home from a day of walking the parks. We were seated right away, had outstanding service, and enjoyed the dark chocolate mousse dessert. We tried some mocktails that were delightful! We were greeted by Drew, a very nice manager, and our server checked on us repeatedly. The menu options are plentiful, and the pricing is very fair, particularly for a resort hotel. (Caesar salad entree for $12 and a ribeye steak dinner for only $48.) We saw they offer a breakfast buffet, and look forward to trying it sometime! We really enjoyed the winery-like decor taking us down to the restaurant. Skip the elevator going down so you can enjoy the lovely ambiance. Kudos to the hoatess and server, who both inquired about allergis to ensure our dietary needs and accommodations could be met. We highly recommend Amatista!

Beautiful restaurant with an amazing view. We stopped in for the buffet breakfast this morning and at $29 we thought it was good value for a resort location. Food was excellent with a great selection and plenty of it. The room is big and airy and the buffet is laid out with plenty of space. Special mention to our server, Jimmy, who was super attentive and gracious. He took care of everything we needed and then some.

We had a wonderful dinner at Amatista cookhouse, and can’t wait to return. First, I was so excited that there was seating available on the patio. Second, the menu calls out dairy and gluten free options clearly—so if you have any allergies, this makes picking options easier. Most dishes can also be adjusted to make them dairy or gluten free. We had the Caribbean chicken wings (these can be made GF on request!) the honey buffalo sauce is so good and is dairy free. We also tried a modified version of the grilled pineapple salad that was also wonderful, it was so bright and refreshing, with a lovely lemon dressing. The mojo marinated rotisserie chicken can also be made dairy free. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and was moist. I had yuca and maduros as my sides, and they were wonderful! All in all, we had a lovely meal. I appreciate the care they took with my allergies and we will definitely be back.

Loved this restaurant. For a main resort hotel restaurant, Amastista is way, way better than it should be! The food and service is on par with the best of the best eateries in CityWalk and that's a massive achievement for Sapphire Falls Hotel.

The breakfast was well worth the price! Food was all pretty good and I enjoyed the options overall. Would definitely recommend the buffet and look forward to trying the dinner one day! It did appear a touch short staffed as it took a min to get some services despite everyone appearing to be working hard, so kudos to them! It did not affect the experience at all!

We stayed at Sapphire Falls after a Christmas party so we ate at Amatista for a late lunch. The view is beautiful. The open concept kitchen and decor was modern and bright. Very clean. Jimmy was such an attentive server. Timed out our courses and refilled our water without having to be asked. We started with the Queso Fundido. It did not disappoint. Their blue chips were nicely thin and crispy. Amatista is famous for their Mojo Rotisserie chicken and we stand by that. Juicy and flavourful. We liked both sauces that came with it The beans and rice was a good with it. The plantains are on the denser side but most importantly NOT overcooked & mushy. We finished off with the Carribean Rum cake. It’s very sweet but properly topped with a big ball of house churned vanilla bean ice cream to balance it (maybe ask for a 2nd scoop if you have multiple people sharing). We also hear their breakfast AYCE is really good.

One of the best moderately priced restaurant options at Universal Orlando, this restaurant has great tasting food, good service and amazing views if you sit outside. Located on the bottom floor of the Sapphire Falls Resort, Amatista Cookhouse has modern takes on Caribbean cuisine along with American favorites. We did both dinner and breakfast with an amazing burger and rotisserie chicken for dinner and the breakfast buffet and fritters and breakfast time. You can expect a more relaxed pace of service so if you were rushing to get to the parks, you might want to let your server know. I know we will be back for the great food and views!

Great gluten free menu. They brought bread to our table that was gluten free without even asking because I mentioned we were gluten free while booking the reservation. Everything was delicious and well labeled. Highly recommend. Worked well for my partner who is dairy free and the drinks were great.

Cody was our server and he was great. Very attentive and friendly. A+ all the way!! For the food: ♦️appetizer we got the mango habanero wings. And they were good. The flavor of the mango habanero didn’t 100% come through. But still very good. 7/10 ♦️Had the angus burger with pepperjack and it was fantastic. Chef nailed the temperature. All around fantastic burger. 9/10. ♦️chicken empanadas were absolutely exquisite. Fantastic all around. 10/10 ♦️got a side of rice and beans and wasn’t for me. (5/10) All around fantastic view and atmosphere and the service is superb.

We ate at Amatista several times during our stay. The buffet was delicious ordering omelettes at request, and so many choices of food and beverages. We also had lunch with a limited menu ( not my favorite, but good), and dinner multiple times. We lucked out and got to experience the magic dining and did this several times as well. The food and drinks were amazing regardless what we got. However, twice we had the pleasure of getting ( second time request, and I asked every time) Siham as our tables dinning room attendant. She was beyond amazing. Her attention to detail and personalized meal experience made me feel at home and truly appreciated as a guest. I could not have requested better service and would highly encourage and recommend the restaurant, and more so request Siham to couples, individuals, or families.

Gorgeous environment overlooking the lagoon and ultra professional service*. The food was just delicious! We ordered the queso fondito, NY Strip steak and Jerk Chicken Potpie. I cannot stress how well-seasoned every plate was, just bursting with flavor! I always use steak sauce and didn’t think twice about skipping it this time it was perfect right off the grill. Service was phenomenal! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and our server Patty was on point and just so wonderful! She took care to time our entrees and gave us time to enjoy the appetizer, even offered to treat us to dessert. Reasonably priced with generous portions! It was a treat to experience dining here. Appetizer bread with walnut - fantastic; Rotisserie chicken - fantastic, not sure how they made it to be so much more tastier than the rotisserie chicken in the park lol; Mussels - fantastic, served with breads grilled on wood fire I feel, so great!! Cheese pizza - the cheese sooo deep Cocktail - tequila old fashioned, pretty good. Probably because we went into the restaurant after 9:20 pm, the speed wasn’t too slow as others complained. We were so exhausted after a long day, but in the middle of the dinner, I was feeling very happy because this dinner is good retreat to us. Server also nice and checked on us several times, made jokes even though it was late. Anyway, I’m very impressed by this restaurant. Worth specifically leaving a nice review.

Came here for dinner one night during our stay and the food was great. We asked to be seated outside so our server was the bartender who did a great job! Had the wings for an appetizer and they were quite good. The only complaint with dinner was the steak…it was a bit tough. We had a an enjoyable time enough to come back the day we were leaving for breakfast. We skipped the buffet and ordered a la carts. Everyone enjoyed the last meal at Universal.

It’s pretty good and conveniently located in the hotel. There was no wait to get seated at night, which was appreciated given that every resturant by Univseral was completely booked. Service was pretty good and food came out quick. Not the best food - chips had no seasoning, the chicken was dry, and the pizza tasted like it came from a box - but it did the job. The salmon was nicely seasoned and was the best dish in my opinion. You can charge the bill to your room, which is nice if you are an Amex cardholder (you get a $100 credit at the hotel).

My experience here was a bit of a mixed bag. On the negative side, the service was very slow with a 30-40 minute wait, the furniture looked quite worn out, and the staff seemed exhausted. The only thing that brightened our visit was the dessert. It was absolutely delicious, and what really saved the mood was a sweet birthday surprise—a small chocolate 'Happy Birthday' print on the plate. It was a thoughtful touch that we truly appreciated. While the dessert and the birthday gesture were wonderful, the slow service and tired atmosphere definitely need improvement

Stayed at Sapphire falls for the first time and tried this restaurant since I’ve heard rave reviews in the past. I would say everything we got was pretty average. The burger basically tasted like a slightly above average frozen patty. The chicken, rice/beans, and plantains were straight forward and the seafood pasta dish was good according to my daughter but was very rich so left her feeling quite queasy the rest of the night. Good Service and nice atmosphere.

Located on the lower level of the lovely Sapphire Loew’s Falls universal resort, it is a convenient place to dine if you’re staying at the hotel. You can also take the ferry or shuttle bus that runs between the 3 universal parks (universal studios, islands of adventure, volcano bay) & universal CityWalk to the resort. There are also shuttles from the other universal resorts. They have a massive buffet breakfast for $30 plus taxes, which is open from 7am all the way up till 11am. The spread is quite extensive. They also have a la carte for lunch and dinner

Very nice ambiance. The restaurant is beautiful. Had the Cesar salad and empanadas to start. They were both great. Then we had the angus steak and the Angus burger. A little pricey for what you get but overall still tastey. The service was also great. Would recommend. Family friendly.

The Breakfast buffet has a good selection of food at a very reasonable price it averages roughly to $23+/- per person. The Amatista Cookhouse is conveniently located inside Loews Sapphire next to the boat shuttle heading towards Citywalk and Universal Studios.

We stayed at Cabana Bay and walked over to the Sapphire to try the restaurant for lunch. Had a delicious fish sandwich and salad next to a window over looking the beautiful waterfalls and lagoon. Would like to go back and try the rotisserie chicken.

Management and/ or head chef: PLEASE STOP SCORCHING GRILL MARKS ON THE MEAT! You’re overdoing it and killing an otherwise delicious plate! ————————- A comparatively superior food option in the Universal Orlando Resorts vicinity. Excellent service and demeanor from the hosts, servers, and bartender. The location is beautiful, classy, and clean. The guava cocktail was very good, better than the banana one we tried. Both bartenders, the lady, and the gentleman, were very pleasant and attentive. I came here twice, once for breakfast, and once for dinner. The steak with eggs was very good! Unfortunately I think the meat is scorched beforehand to give it those appealing grill lines. I say unfortunate because it is way overdone! My steak was medium rare, cooked to perfection on the inside, and it tasted great until it came to those scorch marks! For dinner, I had the hamburger, I asked for medium well but it tasted like a piece of charcoal! The medium was a bit bitter, but still tasted burnt! The buffalo wings and ranch (I asked for BC) were average. I think if this restaurant stops pre “grilling” their meat ( I’m assuming, because my medium rare steak was also burnt on the surface) they can actually be a 5 star restaurant. The service and location are 5 star already!

Went there for the Orlando Magic Dining pre fixe meal. Service was great, except asked for no sour cream on tacos and was brought sour cream. We also asked for steaks to be well-done, and they were served closer to medium. The manager immediately had both situations corrected in a very professional and courteous manner! The food, overall, was not as flavorful as we hoped it would be for the money, though the presentation was nice.

This place has a great looking restaurant and the food is great however our server while friendly was very slow. He also forgot some things a few times. However everything we did receive was good. Recommend if you’re staying at the Loews sapphire but don’t trek over here if you’re staying elsewhere.

All the food was absolutely delicious! We went for Magical Dining & it was worth it. Only downfall, they give complimentary bread for the table but no options for egg allergy which was surprising since they were very well accommodating for allergies.

The atmosphere was great, the decor was really nice, the vibe was good. The food was great, the service was good and I love the fact that it’s on the resort so you don’t have to go anywhere off the resort to eat unless you want to.

I really enjoyed Amatista Cookhouse. Sapphire Falls is a beautiful resort and really easy access by boat or from Adventura resort if you are not staying there specifically. Amatista was quite busy, but an easy reservation to snag with short notice! My son had the rotissterie chicken and I had a couple of appitizers. Both were delicious. The only negative was service was a little slow. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. But overall very happy with the experience and wouldn't hesitate to return next time I am staying at Sapphire Falls!

While the service was truly excellent—we were quickly seated and our server was incredibly attentive—the food unfortunately missed the mark entirely. Despite the prompt and friendly service, the dishes left much to be desired. The empanadas were decidedly average, and the chicken wings were so bland we had to season them ourselves. Even the pizza, which had decent dough, was spoiled by what tasted like a plain, straight-from-the-can sauce. Because of the food quality, we won't be making a return visit.

I have eaten here a few times and have had varying service. The last time we went, the service was really slow despite there not being a lot of people there but there was a good number of staff (early dinner). The hostess was a bit rude, however this hasn't been our experience every time. Their menu options are pretty slim in my opinion. Their breakfast buffet has a lot of options, however, with a custom omelet station which was nice. Unfortunately, I was charged a large amount for my two kids for the "buffet" even though one ate nothing and the other took a few bites. I told the lady they would likely not be eating but was charged anyway. They bring out good bread with the dinner meals which is nice. Kids meals are a-la-carte (fries and drinks are not included). Food is decent though. However, I did get food poisoning from the Cesar Salad after one of our visits. The restaurant is nice and open with nice views outside which I do like.

We were staying in the Sapphire Falls resort so this seemed like a logical options. We dined here for breakfast and lunch. Overall it wasn't spectacular nor was it necessarily bad. I would classify the food quality as someone above "utility dining," but the pricing was far too high. They're charging for dining experience comparable to other much nicer theme park resort restaurants but they're just not there. Breakfast - scrambled eggs were rubbery and slightly under-salted but edible. Potatoes were similar. The coffee seemed like it wasn't brewed quite right but it was hot and worked. The donuts were good though. Lunch - Our two sandwiches (Fried Chicken Sandwich and Fish Sandwich) were just alright, but not up to the standard of the price. The fries were good though - somewhat oversalted but not in a bad way (went very nicely with a beer). The service was fine - somewhat inattentive and often times we went longer than normal instances of not being checked on to see if we needed anything else. Again, not necessarily bad, but just not up to what you're paying.

It's a really nice dining room, and the service is incredibly friendly and sincere but the food was diabolical.....you know how you get a Michelin star right? It's less about the menu and more about consistency, I get the feeling from this location that the menu is well thought out, and with the right chef this could be a solid restaurant. Admittedly, we arrived late, 9pm and last slot is 9:45 but they had evidently given up. The shrimp starter was epically over seasoned and had a detergent aftertaste....that I can still taste, more like an afterburn. Wife has salmon that was a little dry but the dish overall was ok, my rotisserie chicken was sub- boston market, bordering on pigeon size and very dry, the beans and rice was not what I expected and the yucca was swimming in grease, nauseating, the plantains were very good, thankfully. At this point we were not going to embark on an underwhelming dessert and left. The meal was priced fairly, drinks were excellent, check was $150 for the two of us....if this is the kitchen that prepared the room service that might explain the low standards but I'm guessing. We're eating at the other sapphire falls restaurant tomorrow, strong water....and I'm nervous 😂 😂

Definitely a let down for one of the few hotel food options. Chicken Caesar salad has no flavor and portion is small. Chicken sandwich has the same taste and size as a frozen Tyson chicken, not impressed.

Thanksgiving was okay but would have been better if the plates weren't cold. Worst offender Couldn't even stomach the turkey and gravy it immediately went room temp and was not the best in the first place. Opposite side the Ham and glaze was good, juicy and got second helpings with cranberry compote As we didn't order drinks we barely got table service. We had a reservation and still had to wait 10 minutes after checking in. They definitely oversold their service capacity. It should not need to be said but when you serve food that is barely hot enough on cold plates then you get cold food. If you want to serve a buffet invest in plate warmers. If anything is to blame it's the money pinching. Invest in staff. Invest in necessary amenities.

Nice atmosphere but food not great, certainly not for the price. Garlic rolls were gross, risotto was partially cold, burgers were not anywhere close to the 1.5 pounds they claimed.

The positive was that it was clean and once we got the food it was good. However to eat breakfast it took an hour and a half. We got skipped for out seating, then when our food finally came out 2 out of 3 were wrong. Also coffee is $4 for mediocre at best coffee.

What I got, was Alright, it wasn’t the best, the Chicken that I got was Hard, and the Ranch Dressing they make is very Watery, no flavor at all. The sweet tea was terrible. The waiter was pleasant , But that Chicken Noodle Soup was the best that I’ve every taste. So I was suggest to get the Chicken noodle soup…🤣

Wasn't offered bread, had to ask. Ordered a kids salad with grilled chicken, we got our food and it wasn't till we were about done we realized the salad didn't have chicken. Told the server he says we can fire you up another, I said sure. Got my bill and I was charged for a kids side salad and a kids salad with chicken. $12 total for lettuce 4 cherry tomatoes and a few bites of chicken.

At 35 a head for the breakfast buffet I was a little underwhelmed. That being said the overnight oats were great and my dad loved the omelette he got. The space is beautiful and located right next to the door to the water taxi and the bus stop so a convenient location for breakfast on the way to the parks

We’re a party of seven that came up from Miami and Boston and had dinner here last night and also breakfast this morning. The steak and french fries that my sister had were very good and I think everybody enjoyed their food pretty well. I ordered the pork chop which on the menu said it was sous vide pork chop, which meant to me it was gonna be cooked to a perfect temperature and be moist. Unfortunately, the pork chop was extremely dried out, which means it has been sitting around for a while or they finished it on the grill for too long. I could only eat about a third of it. This morning a few of us got the buffet and I ordered the poached egg and smoked salmon. They bring you a lot of smoked salmon, but only one piece of toast, which was not nearly enough for all the salmon and also the salmon didn’t come with capers so I had to order those separately which was odd. But the poached egg was extremely raw and when you poked it opened, it was basically a raw egg liquidy. Now poached eggs are supposed to be undercooked but not 100% liquid. So then I had my smoked salmon sitting in a pool of raw egg. Anyway, I think they try the best they can and it is a theme park restaurant so my expectations were not the highest. But the servers are always awesome and friendly.

It was good eats, but just short of great. Overall my family enjoyed Amatista Cookhouse food and my only real nits to pick here is that the service could have been more attentive the evening we went, and one appetizer could have been made better. I would like to give it 3.5 stars but that's not possible with Google Reviews. My family ate here during Orlando Magical Dining Month so we had the paired down menu as part of Magical Dining. For our an appetizer I had the chicken empanadas, which had good flavor but the presentation was very simple (see photos). Also the empanadas surely needed more filling inside. They still had good taste though. My daughters both had QUESO FUNDIDO for their starter and it was bursting with flavor. Without a doubt it was the best appetizer we had by far. You definitely need to try this. For our entrees, I had the rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection and exactly as I requested. It was juicy and had really good flavor. On a side note, I didn't not like their steak knives. It needed to have better serrated edge for cutting. My sides were mashed potatoes and broccolini and both tasted really good. My daughters had the SIXTY SOUTH SALMON and she said it tasted good but she didn't like the quinoa (neither do I), and my other daughter had a roasted chicken with three sides and she got the tropical fruit and the black beans and rice. It was a full meal for sure. She enjoyed all of that as well. For desserts I had the CARIBBEAN RUM CAKE and it was delicious. I wasn't disappointed. You could definitely taste the rum and the ice cream put it over the top. Both of my daughters had the DIABLOS CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE and it definitely was chocolaty and very decadent and also tasted good. Overall this restaurant was good. It's worth a visit but my one big nit to pick is that service was a lil lacking in not being as attentive as other spots we've visited but the food good. We had to wait on refills and it took forever to get our dessert course. The table next to us got in and out quickly and had the same server. Outside of the lack of attentive service the night we went, this is a good restaurant to try.

The service is awesome and the staff is very friendly. Standard food - nothing was spectacular other than the pastries / donuts, but you can get those anywhere. 2 adults and 1 child was $78 after tax for the breakfast buffet. Not super impressed with the food but the view is beautiful.

This restaurant is overall average at best for me, after having a dinner here. The food is alright, with a vague Caribbean and Italian theme it seems. The place overall doesn't seem to know what it wants to be, so theming and decor is just generic to me. The food quality is basic overall, where the kitchen is open near you at least providing something to look at. I wouldn't come here again most likely, but its good enough for simple eats if staying at the resort.

What a disappointment. The environment looks great and the ingredients sound delicious. Unfortunately almost every part of the meal was a let down. The cheddar biscuits were undercooked and left a weird after taste. The shrimp pasta was also undercooked but at least sauced well. The blue mocktail (name forgotten) was SUPER salty and unable to be drunk. The chicken in the soup was also overcooked and dry, even in the soup. The Margarita pizza was super greasy as well. Finding highlights was a real challenge. I was so hopeful but was significantly let down. I would suggest trying something else in the area, especially at these price points.

The breakfast buffet was very disappointing. The food was extremely bland, coffee tasted terrible, and several of our plates and dishes were dirty with old food caked on them. The service was good and the restaurant is beautiful so it was a let down that the food and cleanliness was lacking.

Food was superb really good. Server was HORRIBLE. The server kept disappearing. We had empty drinks the whole time. Appetizer came out took more than an hour for the food to come out after the Appetizer. We had steak and no steak knives. Took him 10 minutes to come back and check how our food was and then we could ask for a knife to cut the steak. We saw the bus lady more than we saw our server. She cleared all our plates and we sat for 14 minutes before he came back to see if we were ready for dessert. Then waited another 15 minutes for dessert. Overall the whole experience was so drawn out that it made our Friday night date drag because we couldn't get the service. Fix the service and we would come back.

Sadly disappointed by this restaurant. We went out of our way to come here as I had heard it was very accommodating for gluten free individuals. Our server was terrible and not accommodating at all. He made us feel as though we weren’t wanted and he didn’t want to be there which I can understand having worked in food and bev but a good waiter never show that, especially at a restaurant at this price point. The gluten free empanadas were excellent but make sure to ask that it goes to the gluten free fryer. The mocktails were also very yummy as was the soup but don’t get the chicken wings. They are overpriced and mediocre in flavor. While food was decent with service this bad we won’t be back.

Convenient location but overall disappointing. Service felt rushed, once seated, we waited about 10 minutes before being acknowledged and another 15 minutes just to pay, until we finally asked the hostess. The food was just okay; my burger was oddly cold except for the patty. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and the experience wasn’t great. Won’t be coming back.

Nothing special. Arrived at 5:30. Place was empty maybe four tables. Food took awhile. And then husband's steak came. Half of it was still raw. Sent it back and took absolutely forever. I maybe could see that happening if the place was packed but 4 or 5 tables, come on buddy....

The bread was good, the steak was lacking in flavor, and the asparagus wasn't cooked enough. It was intrusive they require your name and phone number to be seated.

S

Me and my husband arrived and checked in just in time to get the breakfast buffet so it may be that we just got them at the tail end of breakfast and it was off. But at these price points it ought to be good anytime you go. We had heard it was Universal theme park’s highest rated restaurant so we were excited. When we got there we had to put our name on the list and wait which was fine. Then they ended up calling everyone else first who arrived after us. They didn’t call us they sent a text, which I’m glad I decided to check my phone because it was still in airplane mode so I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise. So we get seated and the buffet was disgusting. Eggs were powdered eggs and mushy, I have never ever seen sausage gravy that looked or tasted like that, biscuits were hard. My husband got a carton of milk which was frozen when he opened it. The only redeeming quality was the man making the made to order omelettes. And that’s all we ate. I got an orange juice from the server who was really friendly. We left an 18% tip and paid $98. Never again.

I went for Magic Dining and I can safely say save your money, and time. Food wasn't anything special, service took a year and a day, we had to request things multiple times from different staff members. And they can't get the cooks right on super thin steaks, it's almost like they pound out their meat before they cook it. Definitely disappointing the only saving grace was the manager was kind enough to take an entree off the bill but everyone I went with confirmed that we'd never give them a second look again. It's a shame because I used to work for the hotel chain and was told all their restaurants were top notch especially the I-drive ones. Views were nice and decor is pleasant but that's about all that was good about the experience.

T
Travis Gunn

We gave this restaurant 3 chances. The breakfast buffet food was delicious and there's plenty to choose from. The coffee was decent but luke warm. Dinner was a disappointment. The kids Mac and cheese tasted like dirty dish water. The chicken was alright but a bit dry, which appears to be the norm according to other reviews. The service was so slow! For breakfast some of us got the buffet and some ordered off the menu. Those that ordered off the menu waited over 30 mins for the food which was just oatmeal. Funny enough, they just grabbed the oatmeal from the buffet. Crazy. The manager was helpful but it shouldn't take that long if they're grabbing it from the buffet. Not great experiences for that price. We will utilize the Dutch cafe and Strong water.

M
Mary Smith

Ordered a flat bread. The attached photo is the remake. Still burnt. The first one was worse. Service is good. Ask if I want to get it remade again. I didn't have the time to wait so I refused. The top tastes okay and because the bottom is burnt it tastes bitter.

J

Never felt so disrespected at a restaurant. After sitting I requested our heaters be on since our daughter was cold and we sat outside. They ghosted us. Alright whatever no biggie. Waited about 20min to finally get initial service and learn who our waiter might be. We were super easy, we had all that time to look at the menu so ready to go. The guy was standoffish and a jerk but whatever I just wanted food. At least another 20min to by, same guy comes out and another Latin lady and completely ignore us. The guy glared at me and made eye contact and nobody bothered to check in. The service here is ABYSMAL and the servers are disrespectful. I didn't get to try the food but it looks good...

Not only were we skipped over for help three times before being assisted, but after eating the subpar chicken wings for $16, I found a hair in the sauce. My hair ain’t black. Ew bro. I changed my review from a two to a one cuz I feel like throwing up now. Thanks.

I’ve always made a point to visit Amatista every time I’m at Universal—it’s been one of my go-to spots. But this time was incredibly disappointing. Our server was rude and seemed very unhappy to be there, which set a negative tone from the start. The bigger issue, however, was the food. The rotisserie chicken we were served was undercooked, with some parts visibly raw. That’s a serious food safety concern and completely unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one in a major resort. I’ve had good experiences here in the past, which makes this all the more frustrating. I truly hope the restaurant takes steps to improve both the service and food quality moving forward.

A
Alena Kishko-Nogueira

To get into this restaurant, we waited one hour to get our first food, which was just bread and butter. It took another hour after that. We got more bread after 45 minutes and only after two hours we got our main food course which was pizza, chicken and turkey. The turkey came with fries that were cold and stale. The mac & cheese tasted like butter mixed with sharpie and plastic, and the pizza was very cold they almost forgot to come in the serve us and the Mocktail island time is way too bubbly, and has a weird spicy sour aftertaste.

V
Vicki Lin

I just visited Amatista Cookhouse at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort and ordered a hamburger to take back to my hotel room tonight. When I placed the order, the bartender told me it would take about 15 minutes. However, my food was brought out in less than 10 minutes, which initially seemed great. Unfortunately, when I got back to my room and opened the box, the hamburger was cold and the bun was really mushy—as if it had been sitting out for a while. It made me wonder if the restaurant might have accidentally given me an order that someone else had returned or ordered by mistake. Overall, I was disappointed with the quality and experience. For a resort restaurant, I expected my meal to be freshly made and warm, especially since I ordered directly from the bar.
