I recently dined at the one and only Durian Durian Thai Fusion and wanted to express my sincere appreciation for a truly exceptional experience. The restaurant's ambiance was exquisite, beautifully appointed and creating a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. The quality of both the service and the food was outstanding, exceeding my expectations in every way. I would wholeheartedly recommend your restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. Thank you again for a delightful evening. Lucy and Richard Jay

Durian Durian is an absolute gem in the neighborhood! This cozy Thai restaurant perfectly blends traditional and fusion dishes, offering something truly special for every palate. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautiful Asian-inspired decor that makes the dining experience feel both authentic and relaxed. The food is exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and always thoughtfully presented. Every dish I’ve tried bursts with unique, delicious flavors, and they regularly feature a special menu with creative new options that keep things exciting. The specials drinks and desserts options are amazing. Their vegan selections are particularly impressive—delicious and satisfying even for non-vegans. The staff and owner are incredibly welcoming and attentive. Service is consistently fast, friendly, and professional. The entire restaurant is spotless, which speaks volumes about the care and pride they put into everything. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Thai cuisine or just great food in general. Durian Durian is a place you’ll want to return to again and again!

We ordered take-out for the first time. Durian Durian did not disappoint. We got the honey garlic tofu, pad see-u noodle with chicken and samosas. We enjoyed everything. I can’t say enough about the hospitality of the hosts. They were so nice and pleasant. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you like Thai food.

This has been a place me and my family always frequent and have confidence we will not leave disappointed. The restaurant has been here for many years and has consistently made us happy in every way - the food has always been delicious and the way we want it, the service is on point and so friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is amazing and good for any kind of party - couples/dates, family dinners, business lunches/dinners, and large birthday parties. I highly recommend anyone who loves and appreciates great Thai food, to go here, and leave fully satisfied!

Durian durian is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for some delicious Thai food. This is one of my go to spots whenever I’m in the lakenona area. The staff is incredibly friendly, the restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. Today I tried the sticky wings, the spring rolls, the phai thai with a side of white rice and the classic pepper steak. All were tasty and rich with flavor. Next time I hope to save room for mango and sticky rice. Thank you star and Ivy for your hospitality, I love seeing managers that are hands on with their staff and helping in anyway they can, it’s amazing.

I’ve frequented Durian Durian for years when I used to live nearby for good reason. The food is always delicious, service is perfect, and atmosphere is relaxing. My favorite aspect of Durian Durian is being able to customize the spiciness level for your entree. I highly recommend the Cashew Nut Medley.

This place is a gem! It was my first time here, and I was truly impressed. Everything was delicious, with authentic flavors. The atmosphere is cozy, which is surprising given how it looks from the outside. The service is very friendly as well. Everyone should come here—definitely a 10/10!

Service was excellent. The Durian Durian sampler was delicious. It was hard to not like anything on that plate, egg rolls, fried coconut shrimp, tulip dumplings, rangoons and pot stickers. Definitely 👍 Husband had the moonlight noodles. Its an off menu special, It’s rice noodles vegetables and choice of protein in a cloud of egg whites. It’s a pretty dish and tasty too. I just loved the presentation the egg whites did look like wisps of clouds. I had the Malaysian Laksa. Once again the presentation it was a generous sized bowl but they had this gorgeous crusted fried egg on top. Laksa is a staple in South East Asian cuisine. This was a very good version of it. Good flavors all around. Both portions of food were generous and rather reasonably priced. Happy hour alcohol 2 for $7 quite the deal, and realize when you get tea it’s a pot and a pretty glass pot at that. The menu here is diverse. Chinese, Indian and Thai and SE Asian dishes were on the menu. I’m already looking forward to going back to try other dishes there.

This place is a gift from the heavens. Mango sticky rice is delightful. The massaman coconut curry is speaks to my soul, I almost cried eating it. Servers are so nice, prices are great, and the serving sizes are generous. This is my favorite restaurant in the area! Love!!!!!

Simply the best Thai restaurant in the Lake Nona area. I love coming here and eating quality, delicious food. The atmosphere is inviting and intimate. My favorites are the green curry and panang curry with chicken. The pad thai is cooked to perfection (choice of proteins (chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu). Everything on the menu is customizable to your heat level. Vegetarian options. All of the dishes are cooked to order. Price is right for the amount of food you get. Vegetables are fresh, and what I've tried and eaten so far are not overly salty or sweet. Last but not least, I highly recommend the fresh mango sticky rice for desert. It's the best way to end an amazing dining experience. I am a frequent customer here, and I highly recommend this place for all your Thai cravings.

I did not know this restaurant existed in the area and was pleased to give it a try. The owner at the front desk was so pleasant and patient while I made up my mind. The food was ready quickly and it was very fresh and flavorful. I can't wait until we go back to eat in. The menu has a wide range of great looking dishes and the price was great!

Consistently delicious! I've dined in or gotten takeout many times over about the last 9 years with a variety of family and friends, and everyone has always been pleased with their meals and the service. I love the green curry with tofu, mild or medium. YUM! 😄

We had a very large party of 20+ that the birthday girl wanted to try. Called ahead and they were ready for us. This was a new Thia place for all of us (we are mostly from N Orlando) and everyone loved their food. The place is clean and the service was awesome. Would definitely recommend 👌

Wow, this is one of the best Thai cusines you will ever try. Ever since opening 5 years ago, me and my family visist every week or two. The atmosphere and music is always on vibe. Waiters are so sweet, the best I've ever seen at any restuarant. The spice levels are so helpful, and you can ask for a spice box to use which comes with different spices and Sriracha to put. Food is always amazing and hot. The owner Ivy is very kind and sweet, honestly, if you live in Orlando I would try it out!

DURIAN DURIAN DESERVES YOUR BUSINESS!! Been coming here for 5+ years and the food never disappoints. Great place to come for a nice dinner out, or order to go and enjoy at home. On top of that, the service is phenomenal. They care about their customers. Always so excited to see you when you walk through the door. They’re constantly giving me discounts for promotions and celebrations they have going on, without me even having to ask. 10/10 recommend!!

Being vegetarian, the options for food in Lake Nona are limited but this place is heaven. The flavors, the consistency, the hospitality and overall the prices. If one item you should never miss is the Thai donuts. Many instances when we visited this places only to have donuts - a different league for food lovers.

Simply put AMAZING.. The establishment is clean, vibrant and most importantly the server was very knowledgeable about the food and made wonderful recommendations. My meal was to die for, everything was cooked to perfection. A place i will visit frequently. Anybody in the mood for Thai food go to Durian Durian on Narcoossee rd, Orlando. Years later and the food is still amazing. DELICIOUS 😋

Definitely will come back! The place is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful. The waitress was nice and attentive. The food was great. The only thing I would recommend changing is the pad Thai. The pad Thai was not traditional or original pad Thai but still tasted great!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! The food is amazing, the service and owner are amazing, and the new decor is beautiful! This was my 5th or 6th visit to this local eatery. It is consistently excellent. The massaman curry is nothing short of fantastic each time we’ve been there. Tonight we had mango sticky rice for dessert and it was excellent. The ambiance is warm and inviting with the feel of a high end big city restaurant. The service is incredible friendly and helpful in every way. The only suggestion is to slow the service pace a bit between the time the order is placed and delivered to the table. This would allow guests to savor the ambiance and their beverage before the meal service begins. In my opinion is would eliminate the fast service feeling and enhance the very elegant dining experience here.

The atmosphere was so nice and comfortable. The place smells delicious and the food provided was fresh and delicious! We got curry samosas, spring rolls, pineapple fries rice with chicken, fried fish with curry, and chicken lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious 😋 would completely recommend.

Wow! What a Thai food restaurant. Highly recommended and we would definitely revisit. Amazing food and friendly service. Lots of options for vegetarians. We ordered Cashew Medley and we never such an amazing dish. Sauce was thick and flavorful. Red curry was not watery and perfectly spiced. Laksa soup with noodle was very flavorful. All dishes have perfect quantity.

Always wonderful experience coming here! Starting from the hospitable owner, attentive servers, excellent food and presentation and very tasteful ambiance. I ordered Malaysian curry laksa noodle soup for the first time; definitely recommend. Happy 12th anniversary and making it a full cycle! Thank you for everything you bring to the table (literally and figuratively 😍)!!!

Looks a lot nicer inside than outside. There was 1 server for the whole restaurant but she was on it. Their spice levels in the curry is lower than what I am used to, I got the mild and it was not spicy at all. I usually don’t get a medium but here I would recommend medium if you just like a little spice. The samosas and veggie dumplings were delicious as well. They were out of fried ice cream when we were there.

This place is always a hit with my friends and family. Sometimes we order in for the wonderful atmosphere with the interior while other times we do carry out each time the food is always hot fresh and exactly what we ordered. Staff is always polite and even when service is extremely busy the food always seems to come out in a timely manor. I highly recommend the chicken pad Thai but honestly I have enjoyed everything I have tried from here.

Some of the best Thai food we have had in a long time! I also love that they remove the fish sauce to accommodate the vegan/vegetarian ppl and lots of modifiable options for vegetarians. My husband loves how well seasoned the chicken is. It's become a household favorite, we dine in or take out often!

I love a restaurant that gives great service. I can cook good food at home, but when I go out to dinner I want to receive great service and good food. This place gives both! We had a beef brisket appetizer that comes with Chinese bread and that was delicious! Very flavorful. We both ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp, I ordered mine mild while my husband ordered his Thai hot. The shrimps were made to perfection! I absolutely loved the way they made the rice. And their Thai iced tea is yummy. We will return and look forward to trying other plates.

Yesterday was so AWESOME! From start to finish, the experience here at Durian Durian is always enjoyable. I’ve been living here for 11 years & coming here since, but this time was even more special because I brought my girlfriend here for the first time. The reservation/seating process was easy, the food was top-tier, and our server, Natasha, was such a blessing. Her consistent check-ins and lovable personality are such an enhancement to the culture of the restaurant. Hold onto her, we’ll be back VERY SOON! - Joseph & Joscelin

Nestled in an unsuspecting shopping plaza is one of Lake Nona’s most delicious eatery for authentic Thai food. The owner (Ivy) is always up front greeting everyone and will remember who you are after only one visit! This is, without question, the best Thai restaurant my husband, Bill, and I have ever visited. The food is outstanding. I’ve always loved lettuce wraps and used to prefer PF Chang’s—until I tried Durian Durian’s. They’re even better! The fried rice and eggplant tempura are also exceptional. Portions are generous, the service is consistently five‑star, and the owner, Ivy, is one of the most impressive restaurateurs we’ve ever met. The restaurant is spotless and wonderfully comfortable for casual dining. If you’re in the Lake Nona area, you will not be disappointed. Truly a fantastic dining experience.

This is our favorite Thai food spot in the area. The food is dependably delicious and the restaurant environment is neat, relaxing, and welcoming. We love the pad Thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao, and pineapple fried rice the most. The owner will remember your face, and we are always blown away by the service and hospitality we receive, even when doing a pickup order. Literally every time we have visited we have overheard the owner greet other “regulars” and ask if they’d like “the usual table” and recite their favorite go-to order to get it started in the kitchen right away. It’s a special kind of family-owned hospitality matched with homemade food feel you just don’t find as much these days. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Was my mom's birthday and the restaurant we tried to go to was closed for Superbowl (who does that?) Found this cute spot and was so happy to find they have sooo many vegan options!!! My mother in law is a vegan so it was the perfect fit. The hostess and server were great and they even gave my MIL a birthday donut dessert with candles! My family was all very impressed by their food. We love authentic Thai. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great night!

This restaurant was highly recommended, so I had high expectations. I went after lunchtime, so there was no wait to be seated. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was good. The dining area was well decorated, and somewhat small. My husband ordered the chicken Panang curry and I ordered the Singapore street noodles - both medium spicy. The Panang curry lacked flavor and the chicken had an odd texture (“slippery” is the best way I can describe it). The Singapore noodles were very flavorful, just a bit on spicy. The price was what I would expect for this type of restaurant, and the portions were decent. I would be willing to try this place again, but I will skip the Panang curry dish.

Was busy at 6:30pm on a Thursday, but they seem to be used to it and everything was running smoothly and without delay we were seated, ordered and the waiter explained some dishes, he was friendly and cheerful. My glass of soda was always promptly refilled without me having to ask (something I use to rate the service quality) We recommend the Durian sampler platter, the pad see-u noodle was very good with seafood as the protein. They are not a chain, so they take pride in their menu items.

A

This place is consistently good for dine-in or carry out. I especially like their curry dishes. They have great lunch deals and kids meals that are very affordable. And the service is quick. It's one of the most established restaurants in the Lake Nona/Moss Park area, with good reason. I hope they are here for a long time!

B

Durian Durian serves up Thai Fusion Cuisine. Located in the Lake Nona area of Orlando, specifically the Nona Commons shopping mall. There is plenty of free parking. I've eaten there several times and had take out many times. It's always consistently good. If your looking for a break from all the chain restaurants, this is one you should try. Attaching a pic of the specialty Thai items along with prices.

Good food. Great local place. Wonderful service. The food has definitely been "Americanized" so if you like spicey, go ahead and go for the hot. We usually go medium with thai or indian but this one barely gave me a lip tingle. But still tasty. I had the thai tea and it was perfect. It is sweet so u can have it for dessert if you'd like.

OMG I found new my favorite restaurant. The place is good interior and great service. Only one thing what I disappointed was appetizer. It was frozen others are all great . Very cozy and good food.

K

The atmosphere was more pleasant than expected for a “strip mall” type of restaurant. My dish was good, not the best but definitely satisfying (I had the honey garlic chicken, mild). I did not care for the salad dressing that is offered with the lunch meal. My co workers got the pad Thai (she loved it) and the punang curry (This was his second order of that dish). The Rangoon was good. The service was the fastest I’d ever seen which was nice since we had to get back to work in a hurry.

S
Sky Thai

Nice and modern Thai restaurant near the airport. Unfortunately, they don't actually sell any durian! The food is pretty good. The classic Thai dishes are good here. They will make it spicy if you ask and they also have a spice tray if needed. I got the Khao Soi which was a huge portion. I added duck for an additional charge and it was pretty good, but would have gotten it on the side instead.

R
Rida N

Durian Durian is quite an authentic Thai spot and although it is family owned the ambiance of restaurant is more formal than other local Thai spots. However, the food was not a fresh as I would have hoped. I would not recommend the Seafood mix because the calamari and scallops did not seem fresh, ruining the flavor of my entree. The chicken items also did not taste fresh. However we ordered several other items and didn’t face this issue with the shrimp and veggie items. One cool aspect was the pineapple dish actually comes in a full pineapple. Overall the server was attentive. Ambiance 5/5 Food 3.5/5 Service 4/5

A
Amanda Zonta

Good service, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I was so hopeful to find good Thai food in this neck of the Orlando area but this wasn't it :( Honestly, it tasted like jarred sauce, or something. Pad se ew had almost no sauce and mostly tasted like oil. Pad Thai tasted more like a sweet chili or sweet and sour. The peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls was more like peanut paste and was cloyingly sweet. The rolls themselves were all noodles and lettuce/cabbage. The tom yum broth was good but that was the only thing I really enjoyed.

F
Francis Walters

Great food, but too many "upcharges". Just put one price on the menu and let customers choose whatever they want. Nobody likes to hear "upcharge"; and what's worse is that the waitress didn't even know how much. 🙄

B

If you're looking for truly authentic Thai food, it may be worth seeking out a restaurant that is owned and operated by Thai individuals, or one that has a strong reputation for serving authentic Thai dishes. The Thai dishes ordered were crispy duck and papaya salad. We were disappointed in quality taste and ingredient used.

L
Leila

We have been here a handful of times, and the food is usually hit or miss. We went here again this past weekend, and the food was terrible. We got the summer rolls, Jade dumplings, green curry with tofu, panang curry with combination meat, and chicken lo mein for my daughter. The summer rolls only had two shrimp in them and just tasted like basil. The jade dumplings were so bland, and had no flavor. The green curry was supposed to be Thai hot. It wasn’t hot at all, and just tasted like flavored water. The panang curry was lacking in flavor too, but it was edible. My daughter’s chicken lo mein was probably the best dish. I gave the waiter feedback on the food when I asked for the check. She told me that we should’ve told her right away so that they could remake the dishes, but we honestly didn’t think that they could make them any better so we didn’t see any point in sending them back. The owner did come talk to me and apologize. She offered me a $15 off the next time we visit, but honestly, we won’t be coming back.

I was so excited to try this place, as it had incredible reviews, but I’m sad to share that it definitely fell short. The staff was very friendly when I went to pick up, but the chicken pad Thai I ordered was extremely bland and tasted like it was doused in teriyaki sauce. I usually love pad Thai and I had to throw out my leftovers.. it was that rough. I just want there to be more accurate reviews, if this is the best lake Nona has to offer. If you’re looking for an incredible Thai place, Siam Garden in Winter Park is fantastic…unfortunately this place is not even close to that level. I do wish them well, but I think they need to do some revamping.

The pad Thai had too much sauce and the Massaman coconut curry potatoes, carrots, and onions were undercooked. It didn't taste like it was cooked together. It tasted like everything was cooked separately and then placed in the curry and warmed. The Thai spice level is not spicy. The people seemed nice, but the food was not great.

We used to be regulars here but the food quality has declined significantly. Today was the worst. Pad Thai drowned in some sour sauce with half raw/chewy chicken on it, watered down Thai tea and a server that we needed to get up to even talk to. Would not recommend this place to anyone anymore. The only reason for 2 stars is that it’s a local business and they used to be good

This is the second time I’ve ordered salmon from this restaurant, and both times it gave me a stomach virus. Typically, I enjoy other items from their menu, and they taste great. However, the first time I ordered salmon a few months ago, I experienced severe food poisoning. As a big fan of salmon, I decided to give it another try recently, but I got food poisoning again. I suspect there’s something wrong with their actual salmon. I’m giving two stars because other dishes on their menu are good, but their salmon is terrible. It seems like there’s an issue with the fish they use.

I used to really enjoy this place, but lately they've been skimping on the food. They no longer add vegetables to the vegetable fried rice; instead, it only includes onions and beans sprouts. Plus, they charge an extra dollar for protein when they know they didn’t put any vegetables in the food. Portion sizes have shrunk by at least half, and the spring rolls order size has decreased significantly, but prices remain the same. I used to love this spot, but I wouldn't return now. There are many other places offering similar food for less money and better taste.

Was excited to try this place and ended up throwing $30 worth of takeout in the trash. Pros: Friendly customer service, decent size portions, vegetables cooked perfectly, and medium spice level done well. Cons: The food was awful. The panang curry tasted like super salty coconut milk. The drunken noodles were so incredibly salty. It’s like they accidentally dropped an entire jar of salt in both dishes, completely ruining it. We also didn’t appreciate the up charges. I’ve lived in several states and multiple urban areas (NYC, DC, Philly, etc) and have never seen an extra $1 charged for chicken or tofu. That should be included in the standard pricing, and it wasn’t. We won’t be trying this place again.

Pretty big disappointment. We were in the area and saw reviews, and wanted to check this place out. As soon as we got there and got seated, there was a lady vacuuming the entire restaurant while there were still people eating there, which is very unprofessional. We placed our order with the server and she was nice, but the food wasn’t. The spring rolls were cold, like they took them out of the fridge and forgot to reheat them, and the wings were lukewarm, as if they were cooked an hour ago and were just sitting there waiting to go to someone. We got up and offered to pay for the apps but cancelled the mains and left. They didn’t let me pay for the two apps, but definitely not going back.

Sorry seriously worst experience in FL. We arrived with baby and we sat at the table for 20 mins without anyone asked anything. NOT EVEN ANY TAP WATER! And when I ask for can we order now, I got the “suggestion” that their food need at least 30 mins. “ Do not expect our food to be quick” was their own word. Sure. WE LEFT.

J
Jesus Garcia

I don’t usually leave these reviews… but I’m a huge pad Thai fan, my family went to dine in and asked us if we wanted something… We of course ordered our go to (Pad Thai)….. and I say this as constructive as possible for the owner and its chefs….. guys there is a way to make a Pad Thai and it is most definitely not the way that you guys made it. We paid $24 and my wife and I couldn’t pass two bites. It tasted like the sauce came from a package, and still with zero flavor…. I hope you guys seriously improve your recipes for other future customers…

A

I ordered through uber eats and the pad thai was a dry lump of noodles with what tastes like sweet and sour sauce. My “green curry” had BLUE chicken, I suspect food coloring given the electric color and lack of flavor. Dont order here its gross

R
Robert Deroy

I don't know about the service and the atmosphere because it was delivery, but the food had no taste. You can see that they purchase everything from a commercial, most likely from Cisco or Gordon food because there is no flavor. There is nothing hand-made there.
