Wow! First timer and everything was great! Sat at the bar, Mario was our guy and kept up with our orders and had them ready. I can't stress the freshness of the food. Reasonable price, definitely did not break the bank for the quality of the food and service. Returning in the near future for sure. Thank you Full Moon Sushi and staff.
Great sushi at a reasonable cost! We have come here 4 times and have not been disappointed once.
Honestly so great! My friend and I loved each roll we tried. Really fair price for quality sushi! 10/10 would recommend.
Best sushi I've had in Southern California, and I'm from Seattle, where we basically have good sushi on every corner. Great price for the quality too. The menu is relatively limited, but just ask one of the chefs to make you something special, and you won't be disappointed.
I’ve visited several times, and each time I’ve tried different dishes. Every staff member is very friendly, and the food never takes too long to be served. The food is authentic and delicious, and you can really feel the chefs’ dedication in every dish. It’s hard to find another Japanese restaurant with such great quality and value!
i’ve been to this spot multiple times, and these three things have remained the same: 1. the food is fresh and absolutely out of this world, not to mention very affordable for a girl in her early 20s 2. the staff are so kind and attentive, they truly mean every “welcome” and “thank you” they say 3.every time i leave, i count down the days that i return if you’re in the San Clemente area, be sure to give Full Moon a try. but just maybe not when im there, i still want to be able to get a table 💐
How have I never done a review for this place?! I've been coming for many years. It's a small gem with the yummiest food, fresh and inexpensive. Quick service and great in or to go. Casual atmosphere. Love the tempura udon and the bento boxes for dinner. Comes with salad, miso soup, side rice, side dish and roll of choice. I got it with crunchy roll. Total value buy and delicious!
SO good! Came for the first time to dine in and went back the next day. GREAT prices and AWESOME service! The workers are so sweet, hard working, and respectful! They say hey and bye to everyone. Loved that!
This is my all time favorite sushi spot in San Clemente. It is fast and very affordable (the lunch special is $9.50 per person). My food came with vegetable tempura, rice, a roll, miso soup, and a salad.

Never disappointed. Our go to place for a quick healthy meal
This was a wonderful wonderful place to get lunch. I’ll post a photo, but the sushi lunch was just perfect, and I really appreciated that the accompanying salad was made with healthy greens, instead of iceberg lettuce. We enjoyed it very much!
Quaint little sushi spot. Our hometown favorite. Food is great and the service is better. Good prices for what you get as well
I’ve been coming here for years. Good sushi, great location, super fair pricing, excellent service.
As somebody who lived in Japan for a number of years and been to far too many sushi restaurants to count, I know real sushi when I see it. From the way they serve the nigiri to the smaller touches (wasabi under the fish) it is truly a rarity to find a place like this. The prices are also comparable to Japanese sushi, maybe a little more expensive, but a good deal. While I have an immense dislike of Western sushi (spider, rainbow, California rolls, etc.) They have these as well and I hear that it is quite delicious. 10/10 Recommend.
The food was tasty and fresh and came out quickly. It was a little tight in the restaurant but we were able to be seated immediately and the kids really enjoyed it!
The place was very nusy when we got there. We were able to get seated quickly, though. The food was great. Service was a little slow. Hopefully, that was just because of the number of people that were there.
If you want amazing, delicious, and affordable sushi this is your place! The staff are all polite and professional, and the food is magnificent experience that you shouldn't pass up!
Great service great food! I've been going to their fountain valley one for some time. This location is just as great! Quality food for reasonable prices
We finally found our new local sushi place! Full Moon's cut rolls are fresh and definitely anything but bite sized. Go here, you will not be disappointed by the food nor the service.
Always good I go with my best friend the prices are good the food is great..The staff always greets you with a big smile. You never have to wait long for your food... and what can I say some people drive by places when they can't see them straight up front..you really don't want to miss here... ITS WORTH IT ...
Great local establishment, affordable sushi always fast and fresh, could use a larger menu but ... I'm a regular now because of service and crazy low prices.
We Really like this place. Reasonable prices, great quality fish, super nice staff ! This is one of our favorite places.
If you are looking for a reasonably price Japanese lunch, this is the place to go! I had the Steak Teriyaki / Tempura combo for lunch, it came with Miso Soup, Salad, Rice and the Steak & Tempura all for an extremely reasonable price! I will continue to come back!
Prices are great and really good fresh food as well! Are visit included family members who were not interested in sushi and they enjoyed their dishes as well.
Good food, friendly staff and good value. Humble decor, just perfect for a favorite local dining spot.
Great little Japanese restaurant with a variety of dishes and excellent sushi. Friendly and efficient service. Always busy… it’s become quite popular
Awesome staff and great food selections and affordable prices
Great value for money , really. Hits the spot for a casual meal that’s not $$$
great food. down side it gets busy and can cause slower service at times. plan ahead but worth it
This is best Sushi in San Clemente. Simple, clean, delicious & fairly priced. I would give 6 stars if I could.
I loved everything about their sushi although we werent able to dine in. I loved the vibe of the place. Also, the food was afforable, delicious and they served us plenty of food.
Our go to take out sushi. 🍣 Staff here is great too. Sometimes it is a long wait because of the popularity and occasionally calling ahead is hard when the phones are jammed up.
Big shout out to these guys for keeping our community fed. They were absolutely slammed tonight and firing on all cylinders. On top of that, they have the best prices around and their food is consistently fresh and delicious. Favorite sushi spot in Dana Point/San Clemente.
Oooommmggggg!! I can't believe I didn't know about this hidden gem!! The sushi quality is amazing, the prices are super affordable and the service was great. Lots of parking, no wait time and friendly staff. This is definitely a new favorite place that I will be visiting frequently!!! A+++
We’ve done take out a few times from here and have been very satisfied with the food. Price point is great, as i feel you get a pretty good bang for your buck. Sushi is great, katsu don is great, and chicken teriyaki is great.
This place is a gem! Great food, great service, and at a reasonable price. Their bento boxes are sooo good, but so is everything else too.
Let me just say, I absolutely love everything about this place. During these crazy COVID times I will not hesitate to help out this business because they deserve it 100%. Food is very well priced without skimping out on anything. Did I mention the food taste amazing? And all the workers just bring a smile to your face. I don’t think I have ever walked in and not just instantly felt the joyful energy. Great food, great prices, great people. If you are in the mood for all those things and more, look no further!
Lunch was reasonable at around $20. The food, atmosphere and service were great. I will definitely go back.
Very reasonably priced and very tasty. We usually get a bunch of rolls between the 2 of us. Have been doing take out since COVID started. Glad to see dine-in is an option again. Can get really busy during reg dinner hours so if you're calling in a take out order, you might have to try many times to get through. Worth it though.
First time here but enjoyed this place and their foods. It is a small place, nothing fancy but fresh and amazing sushi. We tried Hawaiian, spider rolls and chicken teriyaki bowl, they are all good. The portion is good, fish is fresh and hard to beat on the price. We finished our lunch with amazing green tea ice cream for $1.50. It is a good place for lunch or dinner after a day of shopping at San Clemente Outlet. We like to visit this place again and try their special items on the display board.
For the quality of the food the pricing is crazy good. I come here every week and the staff are always extremely friendly and accommodating. Their rolls are delicious and their side dishes and appetizers are also excellent. My personal favorite is the Crunchy Roll combination special which gets you a crunchy roll, miso soup, bowl of rice, and your choice of tempura or chicken/beef teriyaki for only $10.50. Great prices, great food.
Very well priced! Good portion size. Supposedly a local favorite spot. Only thing is there are some rolls that are not shown on the menu like rainbow roll. Parking spaces maybe an issue if it's full. Staff was polite and quick. A definitely must go spot!
Best sushi I've had in a long time! Really fresh and delicious! Service was a bit slow but staff was very friendly. I think it was slow mainly due to lots of pick up orders.
Sorry forgot to take pictures because it was so good. Prices were great and each roll was plentyful! Look online for other pictures people post but you definitely want to stop here for sushi a locals favorite and now mine too! Take out only for now and NO mask required. Call before you go to see when they will have indoor dining.
This is by far the best place to eat sushi. The menu is good, the prices are shockingly low. This is fantastic because the sushi is not a minus. In fact, the sushi more than meets what you might expect. It's a chill local hub. Totally worth it. 👌
Everytime I visit family we go there with their kiddos and it's always a great experience. All of the sushi is delicious and it's all for a fair price... definitely a go to for me!!!
Wow, I love the quaint sushi shop. Reminds me of Hawaiian foodie joints, but very traditional in Japanese. It's fresh, tasty, and incredibly affordable. Nice selection of nigiri, that's an important part of a great sushi shop. Will return often!
When we go they're always busy. Nice menu, excellent value. We have our favorites, poke salad and sushi sashimi lunch.
Great simple Japanese restaurant. Very simple menu, good food, good prices, good service. I want to go back and try the poke bowl (served over sushi rice according to the sushi menu). I had the unagi bowl which came with a very good amount of unagi and included a bowl of very good miso soup.
Great friendly service and reasonable prices. Food is always fresh and excellent!
This is a very consistent and reasonably priced sushi restaurant. The staff is friendly. My family and I eat here like once a week and the food has never been bad, consistency is good when it comes to sushi :)
Food is reasonably priced and service was fast. My 2 year old ate a lot of salmon. I love their pork cutlet with egg. We enjoyed it and will be back.
Excellent service every single time. Incredible $9.50-12.50 lunch special (roll, side plate, miso). I've never found a sushi place around here for that price and quality. Easy-going staff and quick food turnaround. Overall, my favorite sushi place in South OC. I hope they keep these prices and service.
Excellent food! Great prices! Happy vibes! The simple laid back ambience makes you feel at home, could use some decor to spruce up the sushi theme. But we keep coming back over and over again !
We had an amazing dinner at Full Moon Sushi. The prices are really affordable and the fish is great quality. We will definitely be returning!
Killer lunch specials. One of the rare local spots for inexpensive lunch deals. High quality and great flavors.
What a great spot. We are new to the area and found our new favorite sushi spot near us , sooooo happy 😄 Everything was great we had the Yellow Tail Roll, baked Salmon, miso soup, and Hawaiian roll.
Full Moon Sushi is a gem! The sushi is top-notch—fresh, delicious, and beautifully crafted. The prices are very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality. The staff and chef are truly amazing; they're warm, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. This place has definitely become one of my go-to spots for sushi, and I can’t recommend it enough!
Most of the reviews I read about this place before coming, talk about how it’s a really good value. They weren’t wrong. We came for lunch before and ordered for 3 adults and 2 kids. It was probably about $75 and that was with us ordering whatever we wanted to try. The quality of fish seems very good. The slices of sushi are maybe a little thin… but at their prices… you’re still coming out ahead. Order double and you’re still winning. They don’t have the largest menu and honestly you don’t need a huge menu. What they make, they make very well. The Hawaiian rolls are really refreshing and tasty. This place really is a gem. Staff here is really nice and helpful. I can get my sushi fix here without going broke.
Very quaint place, delicious food. I had their signature roll, it was very different, I enjoyed it. My husband and son got the udon noodles, and my daughter a chicken bowl. We also ordered stem dumplings, amazing! 🤩 I think we just found our sushi place
I was in the area and tried due to positive reviews. I enjoyed a freshly prepared meal in a comfortable setting. Nothing fancy, just good sushi and a friendly staff. I also liked the counter seats right next to the chef.
Amazing sushi! With great service. We will definitely go back. Prices are great as well.

It’s a shame google reviews only allows up to five stars! Between me and my girlfriend, we had the Philly roll, baked alaskan, poke bowl, and sashimi appetizer. All of the above were the best I’ve had anywhere around. Let alone for the fantastic price! The service was great, everyone was kind, and the fish was rockin. No doubt that I will come back next time i’m in the area
10/10!! My husband and I go every week, the flavor is great, and their price is the best in the area!
Love this place. Food is quality and authentic. All the staff is best too!

From sushi chefs, to attentive waitresses and a happy greeting as you enter, and a hearty goodbye when you go- this place is very consistent. The $10 lunch plates cannot be beat! In over 7 years, never had a bad experience here.
This is a simple, clean, and efficient setup. Serving staff were knowledgeable and able to help us with our choices. The food was fabulous. Go early, we understand that the line goes out the door after 5.

Cool Sushi spot. They have a great selection of sushi and other foods including udon noodles. They also have a great selection of beer for a reasonable price. This is definitely a cool spot and a great place for a date night!
This is a weekly stop for my family for dinner. The staff is upbeat and friendly, the food is delicious and the prices are so reasonable. The only thing that keeps it from being 5 stars is that it’s tiny and feels cramped at peak times when it’s crowded. I don’t like sitting so close to the next table where I feel like we are listening to each other’s conversations. But they do a good job managing the small space and otherwise it’s a great local spot for sushi!

Great atmosphere! Wonderful service! And most of all we were a little skeptical of the sushi being a small chain restaurant but the sushi was amazing! We now go here regularly!
Nice little establishment clean & friendly staff. Had the poke bowl & baked green mussles I was pleased! 40.00 that includes tip two of us split the mussles & poke had one large sapporo each not a bad deal . The waitress did bring poke bowl without wasabi had to ask for wasabi and soup spoon, oh yeah miso soup comes with poke bowl. I'll return there to eat nice people
Very good for the cheap price! Ordered about 4 rolls and a beer with my girlfriend, and the total was only about 33 bucks. Not bad. Definitely coming back!
Friendly server, good food for the price. It was busy and took a long time to order and get the food. Worth the wait though.
Great sushi for a great price! Now, it isn't anything to write home about, but if you are in the market for it this place is one of your better options out there. The space is a bit small, but I normally get take-out anyway. Living in the area, this is a regular spot I go to often and I have yet to be disappointed in the quality of my food. It takes a minute to get your food, I will say, but in my opinion it is worth it. Great taste for a great price, you can't do much better than here!
Great little place for sushi. Decent food for great prices. Have gone frequently since it opened. Only complaint is that they need to do better upkeep on the restaurant itself. There is food splatter on the walls, the bathroom is dirty. It needs a fresh coat of paint and a deep clean.
Fantastic sushi chefs and over all service. Fresh fish, well made, great price. Easy parking and I could see the ocean from inside at the sushi bar!
Small place. Always packed. You can only order sushi on the bar which is typical. Got a small table for 2 in the corner back of the restaurant and it felt cramp hence the 4 star review. Friend says he is a frequent visitor and the food wasn't bad. 4 dollar Kirin draft beer is nice. Service could have been better when taking the order, but the food came out faster than expected given the amount of ppl.
High quality sushi at a good price. Will be coming back ASAP!
They offers fresh, flavorful sushi with beautifully crafted rolls and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're indulging in traditional sashimi or creative fusion dishes, the quality and presentation are consistently impressive.

This is one of our go tos for inexpensive sushi. You can't beat the price on their lunch specials. We come here often because of the accessibility, and price point. They're all very friendly. Usually quite busy.

It is just ok sushi but a good spot if you are traveling along the way to stop by and have a bite, service was slow and sushi quality was subpar, be aware, this has nothing to do with the other full moon sushi franchise or the one in San Diego downtown.

Sushi was ok, had to ask for over 3 times to get spicy mayo & sriracha. Staff wasn’t as helpful cause again had to requests numerous times and then at the end finally got it. Charged for something we didn’t requested and they took it off but it’s just not great to see your check and have things you didn’t know they charged or you ordered. It’s okay 👍🏻
This was my second visit. The first I had an excellent crunch roll lunch special with tempura. This time I had the sashimi lunch with a veg tempura apetizer. The other items were great but the sashimi was disappointing. The flavor was okay but the texture was off; grainy and watery, as if it had been frozen and thawed improperly. All sushi grade fish has been frozen, but with the right equipment and process it is indistinguishable from fresh. This was more like fish that had been in my crummy freezer. Good rolls are nice, but sashimi is the test and theirs only gets a C.
It's okay sushi; definitely not the best I've ever had. The service was pretty slow because there was only one waiter for the whole place. I had to ask for my drink a couple of times. The prices are fair and they have lunch specials, which is nice. Overall, just okay.
Good sushi, little cheaper(smaller portions though) than other places around. Don't come at lunch they are understaffed and it will take a long time to get your food and one server for a whole room.
No active website but old links on google and yelp are still up and show much lower prices. No one has claimed this business on Yelp. Get a clue Full Moon!
Muted flavors and slow service. Was looking forward to another Japanese restaurant in town. Tried the albacore garlic roll and it was surprisingly bland. Dousing it with soy sauce had limited effect. The children teriyaki with California roll was edible. Chicken was boiled instead of grilled. Teriyaki sauce tasted watered down. Cali roll was alright. Service was slow despite the restaurant being almost empty. That should have been our queue to leave. We wanted to give them a chance and did.
Very mediocre sushi. Service was good! But the rolls were disappointing. We got the tataki, volcano and Albacore garlic
The image on yelp totally contradicts the resturant. The place is small, looks like it was a sandwich or a taco shop at one time and the ad may show there's all you can eat sushi but the owner said they never had all you can eat menu. Food taste bland, mediocre low quality, sushi makers didn't put much effort in making the sushi while I was watching them and the resturant atmosphere appeared to be more surf shop/ food stand image you get when look at the pictures on the wall that depicts surfboards, waves, classic cars and beach scenery. You won't see this at Benihana....
First visit = LAST VISIT!!! The atmosphere of this little joint is at first inviting, but as you venture in...it's a DUMP! OLD old old furnishings! Un-enthused chef! But the worst of the worst...the ROTTEN Fish! This was pre-moldy garbage...feral cats wouldn't eat this! I'm very surprised I didn't hurl it all over the parking lot!!!
Horrible. I am so sad this happened to this location. All the food we ate was much smaller portions and all of the fish tasted very old. I go to different Full moon locations all of the time and they are typically very delicious whenever I go. I also ordered a baked salmon roll and they didn't put it in with my to go, but charged me for it. Very very sad. I used to be obsessed with this location.
We try a new place everyday for lunch, and decided to try out here. Yusuke was our server. She gave the worst service we’ve had. Had to ask for straw and thanked her for it, no response. Had to ask for a spoon and thanked her for it as well, no response. In fact she dropped the spoon off so far out of reach, and it was dirty. When we ordered our food she was speaking with the employees and looking around while taking it. Messed up our orders. No surprise. Instead of taking the food back and fixing it she just dropped off a dirty plate for us to fix the food ourselves… and left immediately after. I think my boyfriend just tipped the change, I’m surprised he even tipped her a penny.
There are too many restaurants nearby to waste $'s on mediocre (at best) sushi. Service was barely acceptable, we had hamachi, lunch special, miso, cucumber salad was wilted, out of the refrigerator, rice was almost cold, atmosphere was like sitting in my garage, total waste of time.
