I'm in Anaheim for a conference and I wanted some good food from a local diner. I found this place with a quick search. I was greeted warmly at the door and led to a booth. Service was quick and friendly. The food is above average. Well made and great flavor. There is a lot of care out in the preparation.
Very welcoming staff! The meat rolls are really big, enough for two people!
Had the Shrimp, Cheese omelette. More than I can eat. Comes with corn or flour tortillas
This food is legit! In business since 1973. I always seem to know that the food is going to be amazing when the refried beans are good, and it was. Everything is so well done and super tasty. My co-workers that joined me think the same. We will probably return there again on this trip and I will definitely go here again whenever I am in Anaheim.
Love the food. Always great flavors. Prices are decent. Wait time is also decent. Waitress and waiters are super attentive and very nice! My only complaint is that they no longer offer you a complimentary refill on their chips and salsa. You have to pay for them now!
Yummy Lunch Combo plate of 3 Taquitos!! 😋 Great, friendly service!! 😀
Family spot, awesome food, fantastic service, best Menudo!
Food was great and very good size portions. Price decently and would recommend.
Hotel I am staying at recommended for breakfast and apprehensive because being from Texas I worried about Mexican food. Boy was I surprised! Food is beyond great! Coupled with the very friendly staff it made me feel right at home. Highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed!
Had a bowl of menudo. Really good & service was great!!
New Review, 08/04/2020: Today I had a Beef Taco/Chicken Enchalada combo, once more with a bowl of their excelent Albondagas Soup, served by the charming Norma on their enclosed (thus bug-free) outdoor patio. Sadly no room for desert, but with rhe whole Bill including tax at under $20, I am a very happy camper. Keep it up, and I'll be back again soon!!! Origional Review, 07/10/2020: Taco and Burito Combo, with a bowl of Albondogas soup, and a fried ice cream for dessert. I May not eat again today!
Really nice place, with great tasting Mexican food. Owner has a very cool story, and originates from Texas. Overall everyone here was super friendly and inviting, food was phenomenal. I ordered the carnitas plate, my wife ordered a wet burrito of sorts, and my son was given small portion of rice and beans and tortilla. Overall very satisfied. Close to hotels and the theme parks too which was really cool. Open till 9pm but sometimes some people camp or drink/smoke in the lot, stay safe!
This place was recommended by hotel staff. Gave it a shot as it was so close to our hotel and all the theme parks. I consider myself picky when it come to Mexican food. I was not disappointed. The food was 5 star. I enjoyed all the history and military service artifacts on the walls. Make sure you ask about the family’s history. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and delicious food. I was there on March 2 for breakfast with my whole family. The staff great and their service was excellent. Loved that they were playing Texas music since I was born and raise there.
No complaints. Food was good, not mind blowing. Pretty standard. I would eat here again. Margaritas were fine, not strong. Flour tortillas were fresh tasted homemade (probably the best part). If you want good Mexican food I would recommend. Id probably only give 4 stars but our server boosted it to 5 star for service!
The seasonal seafood enchilada is the best enchilada I have ever eaten. The rest the table felt similarly about their food. Great salsa too. Very prompt, friendly staff.
My go to spot for years! Love the family run style of business. Let’s make it clear, it’s not just the food that’s amazing here. It’s also the welcoming feeling you get from owner and his family and staff that make you want to return again and again. Menudo is a favorite here along with Huevos Ranchero’s, Chile Verde plate just to name a few. If you haven’t already, you owe it to yourself to come and visit La Casa Garcia!
The best Mexican food I have ever had!!! The whole experience at the restaurant was unbelievable! People who work there make you feel so homely and are so sweet. I had the strawberry margarita and veggie enchiladas. It was delicious. Would definitely be back here!
My family held a funeral reception at La Casa Garcia. There were about 70 guests in attendance. The restaurant also had the other side of the restaurant open for regular customers. Although a bit crowded where our family sat, everything was perfect. It was a lovely gathering of our family enjoying delicious Mexican food in a casual setting. The staff was great. They had kind, happy, and helpful servers. The food was authentic perfection. This was one of my cousins favorite restaurants. I'm glad we got to remember her in a place she loved.
Absolutely love this place. It's a hidden gem! Favorite dish, chili Verde hands down! You have to try it!!!
I've been coming here for years! Really good food!
Awesome if you like big portions very reasonably priced. Very good food. Servers took care of our large group beautifully
Service was wonderful, food was spectacular, the portions were quite large. Our party of 12 were all happy! Thank you!
The morning after attending a Marine Corps Ball, my group gathered for breakfast at the restaurant. The carnitas omelet was outstanding, along with the fresh homemade tortillas!
My wife and I have been here a couple of prior occasions. Never disappointed with home style Mexican food. The carnitas were very tender and not greasy. The barbacoa was amazing. Especially the consumé. Had a cup of the menudo...very tender and flavorful as well... The atmosphere is very family friendly. Latino music playing...usually sports playing on the big screens. It's like being at your Tío's house. People having a good time in a large dining room adorned with old and current military veteranos. Very patriotic. Definitely a place to check out if your near Disneyland and craving authentic Mexican food.
Once I got in (there was big party in front of me), I was greeted warmly and was seated right away. My waitress, Beatriz?, was very friendly and helped me with my questions. I ordered a combo dinner plate of a cheese chili relleno and beef taco. It also came with soup or salad. I chose soup and got menudo. I also got a strawberry margarita. The food was delicious and reminded me of TexMex from Houston, where I’m from. The minor complaints I have was that the salsa wasn’t my favorite and the margarita wasn’t as strong as I thought it would be. I’m going back home to Houston in a few days, but when I come back in town, I definitely will be returning.
Nice lunch menu. I asked for green sauce on my enchiladas they were happy to accommodate.
Excellent, friendly service. Everything was prepared wonderfully and tasted amazing for our party of 8. 10/10 would come again.
Had a wedding in the area, not my own wedding thank God, me and the team were super hungover the next day, half of us met up at this restaurant for menudo, let me tell you it was the best decision made that entire week, the menudo was clean, not greasy, broth was on point, right amount of hominy, fresh tortillas, service is great, very friendly, atmosphere is nice, lots of cool stuff to look at on the walls, full bar, shared an enchiladas plate, which was also out of this world good
Delicious food, and amazing service! The environment is very nostalgic as it will trigger childhood memories of being surrounded by family and the aroma of their Iconic menudo! BTW.... the Menudo is so good!! I live out of state and wouldn't mind making a weekend trip just to eat here!!! It's that good!!!
Had breakfast at La Casa Garcia and it was fantastic! Paula, our server, provided wonderful service — friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere has such a great local vibe — warm, lively, and full of character. If you come on a Sunday, you’ll definitely run into all the locals. Highly recommend this spot for a true community dining experience!
I enjoyed the Barbacoa dinner with beams, rice, and a salad with homemade Ranch dressing. Everything was delicious. They provided salt, pepper, Chilli flakes and Tapatio hot sauce on the table - none was needed, as the meal, every part of it was perfectly seasoned. Went back for breakfast. Omelet, Chili Verde, tortillas. Spectacular. Our waitress was friendly, polite, and very helpful.
The food was great. The albondiga soup has great flavor! The enchiladas were amazing, along with the beans and rice. My hubby got a burrito which he devoured. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is nice, lots of frames on the wall and things to look at. It has quite the history. Would definitely recommend!
Frank has been my dad's friend for at least 43 years. From cook to owner. Frank has always cared about his food . It's always a pleasure to eat here when I'm in town. Menudo is served 7days a week! Love it! I highly suggest if your in the area and want authentic Mexican food, then stop here! You won't be disappointed. Frank if you see this you should put a pic of my dad in Vietnam and one with you. Love this place and food!

This was the closest to the mexican food I'm used to eating back home. I'm from McAllen, Texas. The menudo and the chorizo and egg plate was made like the restaurants back in the valley. Thanks, I …

First time here. Had the steak fajitas. Meat was so tender and juicy..atmosphere is lively, service was great the waiter was always on top of things.. definitely visiting again
We had dinner here tonight, little pricey but you get a ton of food, I had the Quesadilla Ranchera, Chili Verde and my husband had a combo plate which came also with soup or salad, he had a taco and enchilada, beans and rice. The tortilla chips served ahead of the meal were kinda stale, but the salsa was delicious. We also had iced tea, they gave a gigantic glass and it was very good.
The food is tasty here, small menu, sizable portions, affordable prices. We ordered the fajitas, some beef tacos, and the breakfast special (Chile verde) as seen on the pictures. Overall the food is good if you’re into quick Mexican food. The place was clean and in order. The service was fast, although there weren’t a lot of people eating lunch. I’d recommend this place for some quick Mexican taste.
Food was amazing. Ranch was kinda like water almost. Are server was really nice and had an awesome mustache.
Service is not good. Took over 10 minutes to get a server. Then another 8 or 10 to get our waters. They were not too busy, it was 10am. Food is average. I like their menudo but the 2nd time I asked for more, it took for ever and I never got my tortillas. My pata was missing from it too. My family ordered chilaquiles, it seemed like they got the chips and added warm salsa to them.. not good. We were disappointed. Dont think we'll go back. The hostess is a bit rude
We were in town for vacation and decided to try the place out. The service was good and staff was very friendly. The food was good but just didn't taste like the authentic Mexican food we were hoping for. We also had a party of 4 and they brought out a basket of chips which didn't last long and were ordered another but we were charged for it. Not a bad place though.
My overall experience was great the customer service was good the restaurant itself was clean but the food for me wasn't the best it lacked that authentic Mexican style flavor i ordered carnitas plate and it was very dry for me but I really did enjoy the chili relleno but a bit pricey for just a chili relleno was over $7 with no beans or rice unless you got the plate, other than that i recommend for anyone who looking to try some Mexican food at the end of the day you opinion matters the most.
I tried to eat here with my son and my dad, but my son had some chicken from Cane’s, and they didn’t want him to eat it in the restaurant while my dad and I ate here, so they turned us away. The host was nice but the restaurants policy about outside food is unaccommodating. If it were some upscale place I’d understand but it’s just your average walk-in-cafe-style restaurant. We went to a place down the road that was happy to serve my dad and I and let my son eat his Cane’s.
The food was pretty good, I got the chelas chile I got the red and green salsa. The only issue/complaint I have is the coffee was super water down and friend's soda was also water down.
If you're looking for good mexican food, you might want to look elsewhere. The place was somewhat busy, so I had a bit of hope when we sat down for lunch. The lunch menu was a decent size, and the …
Food was bland and with no flavor! I could taste the old oil in which my tilapia was fried in! Not good at all. \nI ordered a margarita and was lacking flavor and alcohol! I got a slushy instead …
My husband and I love the food!! It is so delicious!! However what I have noticed about the women servers or waiters, they treat Mexican-Americans rudely and especially the lady with the very short hair cute, (looks like mans hair cut)!! With white people she is so different!! She smiles at them, takes their drinks order almost Immediately after being seated!! My family used to go there often and were very generous on tipping (despite of the racism and bad attitude of the waitress)!! We continued going but after a while our friends and family who we see at gatherings began talking about Casa Garcia Restaurant on Chapman, I listened and stayed quiet because I wanted to hear what they were saying and they were all talking about how they give much better service to White folks versus Mexican people and if you are Mexican speaking in English forget it they ignore you! This is why I’m sharing my experience because they need to treat “ALL PAYING CUSTOMERS EQUALLY “!! We just want to go there and enjoy our food and pass a wonderful morning, after attending a beautiful Sunday morning Mass and enjoy eating our breakfast or Lunch!! But when you get seated and having to wait at the very least 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge that you are waiting for a waiter or waitress then comes the lady with a Cara de poco amigos, my sensitive stomach gets upset and I can hardly eat!! So please take this comment very seriously! Everything I have written is the absolute truth! I want to go back to your restaurant, but management need to pay close attention to what is happening on the floor with their employees and how they are treating their customers!! I must say though the men waiters are very polite and very respectful and they have wonderful people skills!! Well ok take care and may God bless you all!! I want to go back and eat menudo!!
Large portions, but the quality of food meh. We came as a large group and didn't ask for chips, but were billed for them.
Food looks good but just no Flavor at all , no flavor of spices in it. It kind of tasted like a TV frozen dinner out of the box. The enchilada sauce had a harsh bitter taste , beans tasted plain. Chips tasted good "SALSA" was more like V8 juice , not one hint of spicy in it. Hard shell taco was ok.. don't think I'd return here for another bite. Nice place to sit in a d have a drink , Bar looks nice.
Some time had passed since I last ate here, and did not enjoy it, but I decided to give it another try. We ordered dinner combos with a salad. The salad comes out of a bag, adding a few croutons and tomatoes would be nice. The ranch dressing was so watered down that the bottom of my bowl was full of ranch dressing water. The cheese in my cheese enchilada wasn't even melted, and my food was cold. I showed my server, and he did order me another one. It took about 15 minutes to get it, and my companion had finished eating. I showed the *manager* the water in my salad bowl and my uncooked enchilada. She did apologize, but that was easy. My meal should have been comped, and I would have left happy. Instead, I left unhappy and feeling cheated and disgusted.
This place is very white washedm exican food very flavourless. .. I had caldo de pollo which almost taste like Chicken noodle soup from the can . You know it's bad when I don't finish the beans I love beans .. very Americanized food .... si deberas comida Mexicana ve a otro Lugar aqui ni madres ..
Nothing to write home about. Didn't necessarily feel like actual tex-mex and was lacking seasoning on almost everything. But it fed us! Atrociously average.
I ordered 2 chicken taco and rice/bean platter which came with a chicken soup. I came to this place looking at high reviews. Here is my opinion: The staff is very polite and courteous. Food however, isn't as good as I had expected. Veggies in the chicken soup are soft and chicken completely dry after heating it up several times I assume. Chicken taco were soaked in beans so couldn't really pick them up. Chicken was dry and hard to swallow. I couldn't taste any seasonings on the food and tasted bland. I had to pour salsa on everything to get some flavors!
We visited this restaurant during a trade show together with colleagues. After a 20-minute wait, we were assigned a table. We ordered soup and several different dishes to share. Unfortunately, none of the items we tried (albondigas, chimichanga, quesadilla, sampler) were very good. It was far from authentic Mexican cuisine and almost flavorless and underseasoned. I also didn’t like that the bill was brought to our table before we had finished eating and drinking. We visit Anaheim regularly, but we won’t be coming back here.
I normally say nothing but positive things but today I placed an order via the phone was told my order was gonna be ready in 10 minutes. I get to the location and they are having issues they said wit…

This place is horrible. The Shrimp was hard and not even good enough for bait. The Salsa was watered down and no flavor. I did show the shrimp to the host. The taco was ok and the beans were ok and…
Hostess is extremely rude\n1.50 charge fir card\nDrink prices not listed on menu correctly \nTerrrible\nTerrible\nThe hostess doesn't smIke\nThe vibe lacks vibe
Menudo is overpriced. $17 all you can eat. I asked for a small bowl and it was only one dollar less. They also charge a fee if you use your credit card. food was so so. I won’t be back too pricey.

Do not eat here, the food is not fresh, food is not served as described on their menu. The flavor is not fresh. I ordered chile verde and eggs. The beans tasted days old, the meat was chewy, and the sauce was very watery. The prices are somewhat decent but not worth what you get for the price. They also serve chilaquiles, what you're going to get is some soggy tortillas Splash with melted cheese that's it, then they cover your plate in beans potatoes and overcooked eggs.
Food was below my expectations. We ordered different items and they all tasted pretty bland. Was excited to try based on the reviews but definitely will not be coming back again. The only great thing was the beer, it actually tasted what it was supposed to taste like unlike the food.
The food was terrible! No flavor and over priced. The service was bad, they lied about the prices! This place has a really bad odor I recommend not wasting your money or time. The salsa was so watery and flavorless, the chips needed salt. I was so disappointed big thumbs down. There is no wait because the place was empty.
This was the most disgusting Mexican food we have ever eaten!!! It was inedible and we did not eat it or take it gome but they still charged us $70!!! The food is horrific. Do not ever eat here. They ripped us off and should not be open for business. My husband got extremely sick too. Minus a million stars!!! Gross
I have a different experience . We had some chips and salsa and that was great but unfortunately we didn’t have the pleasure to try any of the food due to lack of service. We sat for good 20 to 30 minutes and hadn’t served us drinks . We could have waited if only they would have at least offered drinks or said will be right with you and possibly checking in on us every now and then. We left stating thank you for your chips , and that’s it. Bad experience for non- locals
Disappointing experience! We came from out of town and were really looking forward to trying this place after hearing good things. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When we arrived, there were three employees just standing around cleaning silverware instead of helping customers or providing any kind of service. It felt like we were completely ignored. After traveling and being excited to eat here, it was frustrating to be treated that way. Definitely not the welcoming or attentive service we expected.
