Nhà hàng Văn is a popular spot for authentic Vietnamese food, especially the Banh Xeo. Customers rave about the variety, taste, and reasonable prices. Service can be slow, and the atmosphere is casual and sometimes crowded.
Tip: Try the Banh Xeo, a crispy crepe with pork and shrimp. Be prepared for a potentially long line, especially on weekends.

Affordable, delicious, and Superior Customer Services for the love ❤️of Viet food! Now it is the best time to order to go! Your spouse will love her beef pho, your kids will want a rotisserie 🍗, and you will have the opportunity to order pork chops with sticky 🍚...Ain't that something?! 😷...Ai love 😍 Viet food beyond WTPho?!!!
A staple in the community. Cheap good food, the decor hasn't changed since the 80s. A reliable restaurant when you just want a quick affordable meal
Service is fine for a Little Saigon restaurant. Food is super cheap for its quality, they have lots of vegetable. We go to this restaurant for over 15 years.
we went to Van’s at least 5 times ,bánh xèo very good and price is right i guess by looking at the way people order probably about 50 percent are bánh xèo. others dishes are also popular and tasty and not expensive. Services are fast and friendly.it’s a five stars.besides you can buy many popular vietnamese pastry and cooked foods to go..
Casual place for good VNese food. “Bánh Xèo” is a must. Plenty other options to choose from. Reasonable prices and fast services.
This places serves probably the BEST banh xeo in Orange County. It's a spot that's been opened for a few decades and many locals frequent this restaurant specially for the Banh Xeo. Hole-in-the-wall serving great traditional Vietnamese crepe. Probably the crispiest one I've had in OC as well. Watch the full review on youtube: @thefoodietvshow
This place is exactly like the little viet restaurants my parents would take me to as a kid. Authentic food and atmosphere, I LOVED everything about it. Small mom and pop vibe in the best way possible. Will definitely eat here again next time we’re in town :)
The Bahn xeo was very good. I will definitely return soon. The prices are reasonable and servings are quite big. The staff are very friendly and willing to help you understand their menu.
The best bánh xèo in OC. The OG right here. I remember eating here since I was a kid with my family. Their recipe is the same, consistent quality. They are so generous with the veggies too.
my wife, mom and I have been here twice now and man. we love it! especially when the Latinos say the vietnamese dishes. This nha hang is authentic. The foods are 5/5 its so hard for a restaurant to have so many dishes and they killed it! I really like the fried sweet potato fries and shrimp with nuoc mam. I like the com tam and bun rieu a lot! and I just love how my mom always orders the ban xeo. plates are always empty when we are done. the price is the best too! its not like other vietnamese places where portions can be too much and I weigh 190 pounds. definitely coming back!
Disclaimer: This review is for the Banh Trung only. For years now this has been our family’s go to spot for year round Banh Trung. While this dish is super popular during tet, sometimes we just crave it in April, July, or November. We always swing buy and purchase a small Banh to go and enjoy at home. We eat it just as or pan fried or air fried. The flavors are always on point. Quick note: this place is SUPER busy during tet. We tried to cancel lace an order for Banh tet and they were always sold out. There was a line for people just to place orders for pick up at another time. If you do want to order, come early because the crowds do show up later in the day.
I came to Van Restaurant (Nha Hang), on Brookhurst Street, with my parents and tried the **Bun Cha Ha Noi** and **Mi Quang**—both solid, flavorful, and fairly priced. But this review is about **Bun Bo Hue**, because that’s where my heart. For just $10.95, the broth was deep, savory, and balanced like a monk doing yoga on a tightrope. Every essential was accounted for: pork sausage, pig feet, and my personal guilty pleasure—pig blood. Portion-wise? Okay, I’ll be honest—the meat chunks weren’t exactly bodybuilder-sized, and I could’ve done with a noodle top-up. But at this price? I’m not complaining. In fact, I’m calculating how many bowls I can eat before my cholesterol files a restraining order. Worth noting: I ate here a few months back and the Bun Bo Hue was just *okay* then—maybe matched its price point. But this time? A glow-up. Flavor leveled up, value shot through the roof, and now I’m plotting my return like a noodle-obsessed villain. **Ambience?** Clean and functional. This isn’t some bougie fusion spot trying to impress you with bamboo water features. It’s a no-frills, eat-pay-go setup—and honestly, that’s exactly how I like it. In, out, full, happy. **Final Verdict:** If you love Bun Bo Hue, or just like spending about $11 on a meal, Van Restaurant, is a must. Order 2–3 additional dishes for yourself. No one's judging. You work hard. Eat harder. Hope owners don’t raise the price. 🙏 Ate there in summer of 2025. I was told price has gone up but not verified.
This was one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been too - the place felt very authentic and a bit of controlled chaos. Service was prompt and friendly. But egg rolls ever! And the noodles with fish sauce were so yummy. Dishes are cheap - under $8
I heard about how good this place was from a couple of people. We decided to give them a try! As soon as you walk in, the place was almost full for a late afternoon. You go sit where there is an available seat which I like. Through all the chaos, the server came over immediately to take our orders. There is so many good choices with pictures and detail descriptions on the menu so you don’t have to guess what comes with what dish. The food came out very quickly even when the place was almost full! The prices are reasonable as I think it is the go to place if you are on a budget. The entire process and vibe reminds me of being in Vietnam. We ordered three items and it all came out good! The place allows you to come in and have a quick bite or sit and stay as long as you want. When you finish, you go up and pay at the register. They also sell a little bit of take home food. I will definitely come back and try their other dishes. If you are expecting a full service 5 star style restaurant, do not come here. It is just a good overall place to go and I highly recommend you come try it. Good food, quick service, and great value!
This place has been here forever, and for good reason. The food is just plain good. Get the banh xeo. It's a pork, shrimp, crispy inlet that you wrap in lettuce and herbs. Yes, not a flavor combo that sounds like should work, but does to so to excellent effect. Recommended. By the way, you know the place is legit when they bring you a glass of ice for your beer.
We love the banh xeo here, they used to give us variety of vegetables with it, especially the sour leaf , even tho we moved away but everytime we visited California, we have to come here. They have sweet sticky rice, vietnamese ham are really good here too. Thit kho is decent. We love the deserts here. Their eggrolls is beyond, one of the best in town.
My family has been going here for years and it’s one of the best Vietnamese places around here. The variety, taste, price and amount of food you get is great. I would recommend the bun rieu and banh xeo!!
Great banh xeo… Service is slower compared to pre-pandemic. As with all restaurants in Bolsa, inflation has hit hard and prices have increased but still “reasonable “ compared to other banh xeo restaurants.
Great food. Super authentic and homie Vietnamese food. Highly recommended. I have been told that this restaurant has been serving the community for more than 40 years.
Great prices! Fast service. Great to take out steamed wrapped variety of bánh! GIANT CREPES!!!!! (Bánh Xèo) The dishes that provide a lot of variety here provide such a rich and encompassing arrangement of textures. If you like a mix of chewy, crisp, pork/shrimp/nutty flavors all mixed in with fresh pickled stuff you will love it!

This place makes vietnamese community so humble and welcoming. Crepe banh xeo is the iconic dish. Its affordable and delicious. All portions are go to fill you good. Very few left with to go boxes. Most people left with the steamy snacks they had on the stands.

I enjoy most dishes at Van restaurant. Authentic north VietNam flavor. Good portion. Reasonable price. The only thing disappoint is the restaurant need to keep table clean, floor and neat look...
Saturday 6/14/25 Dinner at Ban’s Restaurant with my sister. Enjoying Vietnamese Bun Xeo and Bun Beo. Good foods with great pricing. They have pretty good bahn xeo (both regular and vegetarian) in the area and the price is great. It’s crispy, light and not overly seasoned with a good amount of filling, I do wish, however, the pork in the bahn xeo had a little fat to add flavor. I haven’t tried many places but my Vietnamese friends say it’s authentic. I used to be an idiot and get the one from Brodard which is oily, soggy, flavorless and expensive. My only complaints here are to not include the fishy tasting herb (I don’t know what it’s called but you’ll know what I’m talking about) and I don’t like how the container is smaller than the bahn xeo so the two edges are exposed and touch the inside of not just the bag but anything in the bag because that’s unsanitary. I always just throw those pieces away even though I don’t want to and end up wasting food because it’s too risky to eat.
I love the Vietnamese pancake! It is delicious, lots of veggies, and cheap! It is sometime too oily, sometimes overcooked and a little burned, every time is it different but over all it is good. I wish they remodel the bathroom... and would give 5 stars.
The place has excellent Vietnamese food, authentic and flavorful, the prices are average, the location itself is not inviting to eat there, but the food quality is good
A hidden gem for Vietnamese comfort food. Everytime i am in Orange cnty, this is the place for bun rieu oc. I can eat it everyday, lol. Banh xeo is also a popular choice but i dont think it that good. Reasonable price overall.
Excellent northern Vietnamese food. Great Banh Xeo( Vietnamese taco with bean sprouts) but the skin is a bit too thick. Banh Beo is very authentic compared to the ones offered in the San Gabriel valley. This restaurant also have a table full of all the other Vietnamese food goodies for take out. We bought a couple of rice tamale and some desserts.
Came here to get Banh Xeo to go for lunch on a Sunday. It was good but not the best I've had, though I would recommend it. Place had a very long line out the door but that was apparently for people buying other things (not from the restaurant menu). Staff told me to go inside and order separately from another person. I ordered, paid cash, and food was ready in about 10 mins. Pics of menu as of Jan 2023.
After years, still a solid choice for bánh xèo. Bún riêu was pretty good too. They cut back on staffing which leaves half their tables still uncleared after lunch.
I have been to this restaurant before but this time had a takeout. Let me be straight to the points: 1. The crispy sizzling crepes were very greasy but very crispy when I picked up and held up well after 30' then 60'. I reheated them in an airfryer which made them even more crispy and seeped out more oil. The crepes themselves did not taste or smell coconutmilk. 2. The veggies were fresh, clean, and plenty. 3. The dipping fish sauce could use a little more salt or fish sauce because the taste was watered down when combined the crepes and veggies together. 4. The owner lady and cashier lady were not friendly by the ways they interacted with other patrons. Overall, I was more impressed with the packaging which they packed 3 crepes in an aluminum pan instead of Styrofoam which kept them crispy and aired out during transportation, the veggies were so fresh and plenty, well wrapped napkins and chopsticks. I wished the owner and cashier were friendly. It doesn’t cost them a smile to establish a good relationship with patrons.

$10 banh xeo for stuffed filling of bean sprouts, 5 slices of pork, and 3 shrimps. This is a downgrade in less than a week.
It's not a pleasant place to dine. Furniture is really worn out. Banh uot with dried shrimp was wonderful but bun rieu was so bland, like they just mixed eggs with a can of tomato soup. Had no spice or flavor.
Food are OK, not really special , bánh xèo has too much bean spouts, meat taste terrible! Friendliness environment : 3* Service : 3 * Cleanliness : 2*
By 11:00 am parking is a little difficult Drinking water has a charge at $0.25
Good food, low prices. Loud, kind of unclean, family type, not a nice restaurant for dates unless you don't want to see your blind date again. Bring the girl your parents set you up with. She would be so turned off by the experience that she won't see you again and you don't have to feel bad dealing with your parents and ghosting her. Everyone wins.

Waitress was so bad and unacceptable. She acted like she didn’t want to be there, when asking for something, the way she answered is like she really wanted to argue. First time coming here and really hope for good experience and good food. 2 stars because they got us quick and we didn’t have to wait long for the food.
We went there for bánh xeo and bánh Tom co ngu. They brought out something else, not bánh tom co ngu. The waitress was very rude and had bad attitude. They gave us a veggie dish with the mold on the lettuces. We had very bad experience with a very bad service. It's used to be good bánh xeo 10 years ago but not anymore. I'll not come back to this restaurant ever again!
Disrespect custumer, service bad, waitting for food more than 30 mins isn't done, I will not come to this restaurant any more!
We just visited the place today. I got Bún Chả Hà Nội. The meat was dry and not juicy. The chả was chewy but did not have the Northern taste. The meat and chả did not soak in the fish sauce well because there was not much of the sauce. We kinda expected that though because it is hard to find a good Bún Chả. Up to now, I think Hanoi Corner still has the best Bún Chả in OC until we can find a better place. The meat in their Bún Chả is more authentic and savory. However the pricing was obviously cheaper than other places given the current inflation.
