Opinions de The French Avenue Ladera Ranch
This place is super cute! I walked by it so many times but I finally decided to try it. I got a turkey club and it was tasty and toasted. They are under new management as of like a month ago, so if you went before it’s worth trying again. They have started doing collabs with local bakeries for additional treats on top of their gelato and macaron offerings. Great for lunch, or a sweet treat! I got a sweet crepe to go and it was deliciousssss.
I was a bit hesitant to try this place out after looking through the reviews but decided to give it a shot anyways. Surprisingly, the crepe was pretty good and the fruit they used tasted super fresh. The worker there was also really nice and had mentioned they just switched management so she was recommending some new pastries they had in the store. My friend decided to get a cinnamon roll (which she loved) and we couldn't get them all but definitely will be coming back to try the rest!
Great spot to come to at the Irvine spectrum. They have an assortment of snacks, desserts and drinks! The new owners are super friendly and welcoming. We decided to get the crepe and gelato. Both were delicious! Especially the crepe which was thin yet fluffy! Definitely make sure to check them out
The French Avenue is a super cute cafe in Irvine spectrum, also under new management! The raspberry sorbet and matcha cheesecake were delicious, will come back to try other desserts. Owner and employees were friendly and helpful as well! Highly recommend if you’re craving something sweet after a meal or caffeine
i ordered an “a la folie” and it came out around 3 mins later. i tried the cone version they were testing bc the staff were great to talk to. and the crepe itself was delicious and the cone itself was intuitive with perforated lines but yeah apparently there’s new management now so i’ll be coming back and trying some of their other crepes when my craving comes back
The staff is super friendly! The gelatos and chicken pesto crepe were really good! 10/10 would go again. The gelatos really help with the recently hot weather!
I’m usually wary of google reviews but saw that they’re under new management so I wanted to try it out! I got the lemon tart and macaroons (to go) and they were both delicious!!
The cali croissant was an incredible sandwich for breakfast ❤️ the service was fast and so nice - would 100% come back again
Stop here for a Gelato, coffee or crepes delicious....great

Amazing crepes, quality ingredients, excellent service, great coffee and a cute location...what more could anyone want? We got the veggie and smores crepes and hazelnut latte. Delish!
Great treat stop for the CNH KIWIN’S Kiwanis Advisors. Yummy Nutella and strawberry 🍓 crepe!!!
The staff is really really nice, the crepes are amazing like out of this world and not even mentioning that hazelnut gelato, i would give it 6 stars if i could, its a great place to snack :DDDD (One of the guys there is really cute 😍)
Very delicious lemon tarts if you like lemon sweets and very nice lemon berry macaron it has a sweet taste and 2 flavors in one macaron they also have refreshing lemonade I personally like the strawberry lemonade it was refreshing. Will be coming back 👍 The employees are very kind
The smores latte was ok got it half sweet ,it was great for the price
Delicious treats from baked goods to gelato with a smile. Really enjoyed the variety of treats and the staff is very positive and friendly. Will look for after dinner treats here so family gets to choose what they want and can walk off looking at stores around

This is a decent place, and it’s clear that a lot of effort went into creating it. The design is very pleasant, the menu is attractive and easy to navigate, and the packaging for the food is nice. There are definite pros and cons here, which will shape your overall impression: Pros: - The crepe batter is delicious. The crepes are not dry, too thin, or overly thick - they’re just right. I really enjoyed them. - Customization options are available. If your chosen crepe is missing an ingredient, you can ask to add it, which is a great feature. Many restaurants don’t offer this option. - The selection of both sweet and savory crepes is good. Cons: -There are no combo options. It would be nice to have combo deals. Often, when ordering a savory crepe, you’re left without a sweet option, so perhaps consider introducing a combo for this. -The sauces in the crepes could use some improvement. -Other desserts on display, apart from the macarons, don’t look very fresh. -The restroom wasn’t operational, which is inconvenient. Overall, I’d say this is a good place to enjoy healthy food, especially in such a convenient location. I do wish the portions were a little larger, but that might be asking too much. I genuinely wish this business success. They don’t deserve the amount of negativity they’ve received.
Really stylish Cafe. The lady working the counter seemed to REALLY care about what she was doing which was a refreshing shift after our dinner experience. She was attentive and hospitable. I ordered a crepe (100x better than the last one I had a Chocolate Bash) and it was really tasty! Love the color scheme and the decorations.

Hey so, i came here in hopes of trying a new cafe! I ordered a vanilla latte that tasted very watered down. I feel like it was ver overpriced. I could get coffee and a croissant from starbucks which only costed $6-7.
Undercooked/Raw egg. So I originally just let the people know and showed them the raw egg in the Croissant breakfast sandwich. Didn’t ask for a refund. Just wanted them to know it wasn’t safe to serve raw egg. They were nice enough to offer to make a new one but honestly, I just didn’t trust the egg to execute well. This post is because, well, there’s several reviews below calling the same thing out and clearly it’s not being considered. The food is pretty whatever, the cost is 2x what it should be for what’s delivered, and the wait was pretty long for the food and we were there at a dead 10:10am on a Saturday.
I got the chicken Dijon crepe and it was disgusting. Too much mustard. I took the chicken off because it has pink spots, so I was worried it was undercooked. The bag of chips that came with the crepe was beyond stale. The girl working there was not the friendliest and the order took too long to cook. On a positive note, I did have the Nutella crepe once and it was tasty.
I ordered an original crepe with only butter and cin - to go. The chef plastered it with cream (I did not see her do that or I would have told her not to). When we got home it was a SOGGY MESS - INEDIBLE SO INTO THE TRASH! Do they not know to separate any milk from a dry crepe if it is ordered to go ?

I don’t typically write review but honestly the food was very much disappointing. I also have a feeling these other reviews are fake to boost their ratings. I ordered the Ham, egg and cheese crepe. Something simple to try out a new restaurant. The girl working looked under 18 and for sure doesn’t know what she’s doing. She overcooked the crepe. The Strawberry Tart I ordered was also tiny, for $9 it was not worth that price. They were bigger ones on display so please be cautious of what they give you. If you want better cousines I’d recommend somewhere else. I’m really disappointed because I was looking forward to a new restaurant at the Spectrum. Turns out it’s a dud. Please take your business somewhere else. I paid $25 for a disappointment.
I wished I looked at the reviews here before buying. All the negative reviews are accurate. I ordered the turkey club and there was a hair in it. It looked like a sad sandwich with subpar ingredients, nothing like the picture. I went back inside to get a refund and she said all she could do is make me a new sandwich. Why on earth would I eat a sandwich made by the same person who made my previous one with the hair?!! I asked for the manager/owners phone number. She gave it to me and made no apologies. I called and left a voicemail for Sam. I also texted him and sent him the picture of my sandwich. No response. Service and food are horrible and extremely expensive.
Terrible just terrible don’t order any food here, soggy croissants, uncooked eggs, too much cheese -just overall gross and for the price is outrageous! Two sandwiches for 40 bucks! Ordered a cappuccino that was a sip of coffee all foam not even a full cup.
Absolutely a travesty of a bakery. I got a turkey club ($15) it was literally one(!) slice of turkey meat, one limp piece of lettuce, the hardest unripe avocado that was the size of a quarter between 2 slices of white bread. Looked nothing like the pictures. $15 bucks for this?!?!? Absolutely insane prices for literally next to nothing of a sandwich. I could not believe my eyes when I saw this sandwich. I thought someone was pranking me. Turns out the jokes on me since I paid 15 bucks for one slice of turkey. On top of that, it took 20 minutes to prepare, which makes no sense because it was one slice of deli meat. This place is not going to last very long. Don't believe in the obviously fake reviews for this place

Whatever you do do NOT order the sandwiches here. They are fifteen dollars and they look like a 10 year old could’ve made it. The menu that they advertise online does not look anything like how it does in person. I normally don’t write reviews but this place is questionable. Save your money…
We ordered a chicken crepe and turkey sandwiches- just like another customer described (2 pieces of bread on a BED of cheap chips. The amount of mustard on the crepe was beyond overwhelming.
They will charge your card for more than the listed price on the menu. Refunds refused Better coffee and food at Starbucks for half the price
Worst coffee I've had. And I used to drink gas station coffee daily. Man, wasted 6.50 plus the time I had to wait to get the coffee.
Dude…. This place is a joke. Took me almost 45 minutes to get a sandwich only to find out that the sandwich was paper thin and tastes like cardboard. Waste of time and money. First and last. Good luck.. you guys are gonna need it.
Horrible place $40 for two sandwiches that had like no meat and coffee that was less than half full the 1 star reviews on here are accurate wish i looked before coming i dont even know how this place is in irvine or even still in business..
The food it’s ok, over priced but the customer service the worst. More training how to treat people.
this place is not good. the worst combo of expensive and bad food and service.
A donut (beignet) is $10
Avoid this place Rude staff
We ordered the almond croissants, They were old very old. They were hard and stale . Then we ordered the little donuts they were stale and hard. Everything we ordered was old and taste awful. I would never go back there or tell anyone about it.
Was excited to see a French bakery. Went in and got a cross aunt and the almond crosssint. Brought home and literally could not bite into them. Both were so hard. They were so okd we threw them away. Even microwaved them and they wouldn’t soften up. They cost me $10 + dollars for it and we couldn’t even eat them. Definitely not be going back. All their pastries sit out in the air and not covered. The staff didn’t even say hi when we walked in. Do not recommend this place!!!
Went yesterday whilst in Irvine Spectrum for a Nutella crepe. No powdered sugar, light on Nutella. It came back covered in both powdered sugar and thick in Nutella inside and on the top. The response that I got when I reminded that I asked for no powdered sugar was ‘I don’t know what you want me to do about it’. I asked if she heard me when I said no powdered sugar, she said yes! Then there was a stand off where she just stared at me, leaving the other customers bemused about the situation. Eventually, she took my crepe back, threw it to the side, made another one (albeit undercooked as she clearly didn’t want to deal with this anymore) and gave it to me. All this without saying a single word! What service.
They gave my order to some random people then had the audacity to try and hand it back to me after those rando's opened the box and stuck their spoon in it. I get that I am Asian and the other group was Asian too, but at least check the order number. My friend had to ask them to remake, but that should have been an automatic reaction from their part. Absolutely not the type of service I expected to see in Irvine.
I wouldn’t recommend getting desserts here. The beignets were disappointing—essentially just cheap donuts trying to pass as authentic. I also got a couple of macarons, and some were underbaked, which was a letdown. Honestly, there’s nothing special about the desserts, and I wouldn’t waste your money here.
Just had a sandwich here, horrible. Maybe is just better to get a tea or coffee. Mediocre service.
