A quaint gem in Lafayette! It’s the kind of place that feels like you’re dining in a loved one’s home. We came for Sunday brunch and the food delicious and the ingredients were fresh. My boyfriend had the Eggs Benedict and I had the Veggie Omelette. Both delicious! The side of toast was freshly baked by the owner and we decided to leave with a whole loaf. Looking forward to coming back.

Maria and Ahmed cook only with natural and sustainable ingredients and the food tastes fresh and fantastic. We usually get veggie omelettes, Joe’s Special scramble with Italian sausage, or Eggs Benedict on weekends. For lunch, chicken pesto sandwich, and chicken salad - either as a sandwich or on a green salad with the raspberry dressing. All are so tasty! Always get the breakfast potatoes, even if having lunch - they are so yummy and crisp without being greasy. The baked goods are excellent - we’ve taken multiple loaves of bread home and are never disappointed. Maria and Ahmed are so welcoming and warm and we always feel like family when we go there to have a meal. We now live about 45 minutes from Lafayette but we take every opportunity to stop by for a meal if we’re even somewhat close. This is one of our favorite places in Lamorinda!!!

Tucked away in the corner of a quaint strip mall, they wait to delight in flavor and portion. This was the most stuffed crepe I’ve ever seen. It was my first time there and somehow was greeted by name, just a splendid experience.

Breakfast for four of us before moving furniture yesterday. Even my veggie omelet was good, lots of potatoes and their mocha frio is so delicious, one person got two of them.

I had the sausage crepe with a hot latte and it was all so excellent. The food is flavorful, locally sourced, and organic. I had the pleasure to meet Maria who told me her upbringing in the Andes mountains influenced the sustainable practices they use to minimize their environmental impact. They don't even use plastic trash bags! Eat here for reasonably priced food that is delicious, good for you, and good for the environment

Screw the negative reviews, about how the place is needed an upgrade and they only take cash for some stuff. -When we came in, we were greeted, and felt comfortable in the restaraunt. -The atmosphere and vibe is so old school and we love it. If felt like an escape from the fast paced and technology of today generations, which some folks will not understand. -The food was amazing in our opinion, everything is organic and the breads were made in their little cafe. What surprise me the most, is when eating their food, I did not feel bloated like the other restaurants we've been to. -Price of the food is reasonable. They do take card payment, but prefer cash. -we definitly will come back, and please support you local businesses.

The food here is amazing!! All organic and natural ingredients and they make their pesto from scratch. The pesto crepe is a must-try, 10/10 recommend.

Crepes! Breakfast crepes, savory crepes, dessert crepes, all delicious. Greek crepe is particularly recommended. The staff is also extremely friendly, and there is a small outdoors seating area perfect for a quiet lunch.

Fresh food, great service, and zero environmental footprint! Maria hand picks the music which really made a difference. From tango to Abba, it made my experience very enjoyable and relaxing! I will be back!!

Cute little place, Id like to try their lunch. We had breakfast. The eggs & ham were good I thought my French toast could use more flavor, it was alittle blan for my taste. Loved the atmosphere & the waitress was very sweet.

What a cute little spot right next to the Lafayette post office! The lady who owns and runs the place with her husband is so sweet. She cares deeply about her customers and the community. Also, the menu emphasizes clean organic food. If you're looking for a nice simple spot for breakfast or lunch, this is a lovely little place. Plus, you're supporting a local business that has been in Lafayette for many years!

Had a delicious Grilled Chicken Garden Salad lunch today at The Rising Loafer. Ate outdoors on the patio. I appreciated the many available menu selections and for returning another time the breakfast menu looks very appealing. The couple that run this restaurant are very friendly, helpful, and prompt and it was a delight to talk with them a little and hear about the organic food they serve, their story, and their community involvement. This is definitely a place I'd like to return to many times. I dislike going to restaurants in Walnut Creek anymore (too much of a hassle, too much commotion), I find this place to be relaxing and pleasing along with a full menu, relaxed atmosphere, organic items, and more affordable pricing, so I'd rather come here. They deserve a top rating.

I had a lovely breakfast of French toast, eggs, and bacon with my friend. The food was tasty, the coffee was just right and most importantly the service was amazing. I enjoyed the ambience and felt like it was a nice little retreat right here in downtown Lafayette. I'll be heading back shortly.

Food was good, all organic and made there. Restaurant was empty on a Saturday late morning. The server and the cook were friendly. A little odd that we were charged $3 for an extra plate to split a burger for my kid (apparently this is stated in the menu). Overall good but probably will not visit again.

We ordered a sandwich and chicken pancakes, which they kindly replaced with turkey upon our request. This came with a small portion of soup. We really liked that the portions overall were generous. Everything was delicious. The coffee was a bit bitter for me personally as I prefer a smoother taste, but the owners were very polite and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was tasty and authentic. I truly recommend visiting. I am not sure why the rating is so low, but I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Great breakfast at this very welcoming cafe. We shared an egg scramble and a large bowl of very fresh fruit and fine coffee. The owners are very attentive and their hospitality is evident in every aspect of their food preparation and service. We look forward to returning here soon for another meal.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews but I am totally disappointed. It’s an old and dated restaurant which needs major upgrades. You have to go through the kitchen to use the restroom. All that did not bother me. I was disappointed with the food. $14.95 for a breakfast items. But who charges $3 for a piece of toast? I am sorry what? A toast is always included in the breakfast. An ordinary bread, nothing special too. Then to make matters worse, they will also charge $3 for splitting the plate? Seriously? You can tell that they are using cheaper quality ingredients because it reflected in the taste. Very bland and ordinary. The pancakes had lumps of flour in it. Their freshly baked bread tasted dry and flavorless. They prefer cash instead of card. Someone wanted to order 2 coffees but the lady refused him card payment. I mean in this day and age a restaurant wants cash doesn’t sit very well. Clearly it’s a mom and pop restaurant. The gentleman cooks and the lady does everything else. And the reviews are probably by their old customers who also don’t like change just like them. I feel bad writing this review but unfortunately it’s the truth. Sorry won’t be returning.
