Outer Rim Lounge/Villains Lair offers amazing views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and a fun atmosphere, especially for DVC members. The service is generally good, with some servers like Scooter and Dave receiving high praise. Some find the food overpriced or the theme lacking.
Tip: Reservations are encouraged, especially for the Wicked Wind Down, as the lounge is not large. Build in extra travel time.
Villains Lair is the place for an evening drink, fantastic view of the sunset, and incredible look at Magic Kingdom and as far as the eye can see. If you can't get a reservation then jump on the elevator to the 16th floor as soon as it opens at 6pm, order a drink and maybe an appetizer, then admire the atmosphere until they start seating the reservations.
We try to do the Wicked Winedown at the Villains Lair when we are here! We were greeted by an enthusiastic person Scooter, who was helpful and friendly with plenty of energy! His personality set the tone for rest of the night for us! Our server Dave was polite, friendly and helpful as well! The food was delicious! Watching the fireworks always a good time. Can’t wait to come back again. We have done this at least four times if not more hard to remember. As long as DVC hosts it we will enjoy it! Thanks for another good night! Included some pictures of our food and drinks!
We did the Wicked Wind down. The lounge is not large so reservations are encouraged. There were 3 of us so we got 3 appetizers. Honestly it was enough food to double as dinner. It was all good. The drinks were amazing, and that view was something special. I can't remember the last Disney fireworks show I wasn't competing with screens and kids on shoulders to see. The staff was attentive. This was an amazing experience!
Amazing views and delicious drinks. We loved the cake. Though the flatbread and sliders weren’t impressive they were good. Nice atmosphere and extra touches throughout.
We had heard of the Top of the World Lounge and wanted to give it a shot. We decided to splurge for the Wicked Wind Down and it was a great choice, when we finally got there. Luckily, we built in extra travel time because it was a mad house. Backup at the monorail from the Polynesian, which led to a huge backup waiting for the elevator to go to the lobby - because you need to go to the North elevator to check in and be scanned up to the 16th floor. We took the stairs down (much quicker) only to find that 1 of the 3 elevators was running. Once we finally made it to the lounge, things improved immediately. They were able to accommodate our larger than standard party and gave us great seats together by one of the windows. Our waitress was awesome and explained all of our options for food and drinks. She even brought our drinks out to the terrace while the fireworks were going. The food was fantastic. We had the charcuterie board, the pork belly sliders, the shrimp and the hummus and all were very good. Two of the kids with us had the pretzel which was also good and I really enjoyed the spicy mustard that came with it when I stole a piece. The capper for the night was the 7 layer cake. OMG, it was delicious and I could eat it every day. Overall, a super fun and tasty experience that I would be glad to do again!
Returning for the first time since COVID, renamed and rethemed. This Evil Lair, nay The Villain's Lair is a great place to 1) see the MK fireworks 2) Have an Villainous Beverage 3) Enjoy a giant hot Bavarian pretzel and 4) share a delicious slice of Chocolate Seven "Lair" cake. Drinks and food are pricey reaching $20 plus for some signature alcoholic drinks. But the view and the Venue make a special outing worth it! Especially if you are staying at Bay Lake Tower!
Spectacular views of the fireworks over Disney. Members only location. Large outside deck area for conversations and views. The inside is elegant and seats a smaller amount of people. Large bar and menu for delicious decadents. Fun place to enjoy and unwind after a fun filled day in the parks.
Private bar for DVC members and guests of members. Perfect for viewing the Magic Kingdom fireworks show. I really like that they will reserve your table so you can go and watch the fireworks and then come back in. A little pricey but you're paying for the view.

Amazing place to watch the nightly fireworks at Magic Kingdom. You must be a DVC member or guest of DVC member to check out the lounge.
Love the new atmosphere. Our server was amazing!!! She definitely made the Villans Lair delightfully wicked!
Our 3rd time here, views and service are amazing, highly recommend
We had such an amazing experience even though the lounge was full thanks to amazing cast members Athena, Kat, and Shannon. Thank you for making our night magical ❤️
Great view. Limited access starting at 6:00 PM. I found out that you can’t access the 16th floor until after 6 when the light in the elevator goes from red to green. It wasn’t busy at 6 for regular drinks and food. The Tomatoes of Terror Flatbread was just average and soggy in the middle so as for a crusty flatbread. However, you need reservations ( made through the DVC 800 number) for the $55 per person including kids fixed price event which includes a drink, an appetizer and a slice of cake during the time people go their to be able to view the fireworks at 9:00 PM. I am assuming the fixed price is to keep people from just ordering an appetizer and keeping the seats for hours to watch the fireworks.
Almost a 5 star if it had a few improvements! I attended the Wicked Wine Down with friends. They are DVC members, which is required for entrance. The WWD cost included 1 drink, 1 appetizer and 1 dessert per person, as well as a private viewing area on the balcony to watch the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. The view was spectacular! The music being played at MK during the fireworks show is played here as well, which makes this an excellent viewing location. There are equally good views in the "non private" areas of the balcony that don't require you to purchase the WWD. The drinks here are very good, true bartending craftsmanship. As a group we had the hummus, pretzel, charcuterie and a plant based flatbread pizza. All of the food was great, with the exception of the very small/lackluster charcuterie board. Lots of very hard crackers, very minimal amount of meat or cheese. There is only 1 dessert on the menu, The Seven Lair cake, and it is very good. It is a huge portion. We all shared 1 slice and boxed the others up to go. The atmosphere is good... but could be excellent. This place is billed as the Villians lair, but the theme decor is VERY weak by Disney standards.
We came up to check it out as we have not been here before. Beginning of July and on a Saturday night. Also our first time a Bay Lake - our home resort is OKW) We opted for drinks to go, as we had dinner reservations already. I got the Cursed Pirate. It was extremely sweet, but good. I decided to get mine on the rocks vs martini style. It helped keep it cool and cut a bit of the sweetness down. Would definitely get it again. The views were awesome! The back overlooks the courtyard and pool, as well as Bay Lake and you can see Discovery Island. The front had a great view of the park, as well as some of the resorts around the lagoon. I bet the fireworks are great up there. They had an outside bar that never had a long wait, also nice the bartender remembered our drink order as we came and got drinks to go after dinner. Service was top notch! The kids were too short to look over the ledge outside, but I would consider this place as an adult environment. Seating is very limited, definitely get a reservation. The bar is first come first serve, but you can be added to the wait list for those as well. The vibe was lacking. The Villians Lair consisted of some villain pictures and the resemblance of a slide show on the TV. Would love to come back here for food, drinks and *no* kids😅
The new Villain's Lair theme is just ok. There isn't much decor to make it very immersive. The new drinks are very good and decently priced. It seems to me that the food menu didn't really change from what it was before the shut down. The view is still amazing and plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the fireworks. The new system of getting into the lounge with each group having a table wasn't too bad but you need to make sure to get there early! Like 15 mins before they open if you don't want to worry.
7/2022 Dvc entry only right now for top of the world lounge it's villains lair themed. Big screen villain changes periodically. The mirror mirror drink was the best. Flat bread was good. Great spot to watch fireworks, staff was pretty knowledgeable a lot of training going on when we went. Apparently you can dress up with villains garb which is on the coat rack when you enter.
We visited the Villains Lair a few nights ago. Others in my party had drinks and they said those were good, and we split the pretzel among us which was also good! Our server was fantastic. I was disappointed in the “Villains Lair” design, specifically with the television with cords hanging down the bottom. The tv just had different Villians on a slideshow. This just seemed a bit cheap. The other wall has villain art and they should’ve kept that throughout to match the theme.

As DVC members, we try to visit Top Of The World Lounge each time we stay at Bay Lake Tower. We hadn’t been here in about three years, and some of the processes to get up to the lounge had changed, which unfortunately wasted about 45 minutes of our time before we got to our table. However, Jalen (the Hostess), Travis (our Server) and Patricia (the Manager) did their best to improve our overall experience, which we greatly appreciated, especially since we were dining here for my birthday. The food was good, but not the best we’ve had at Disney. The reason we come here is for the incredible view and experience of the Magic Kingdom fireworks, with a private viewing area for Wicked Wind Down guests. I strongly recommend making reservations ahead of time for Wicked Wind Down to ensure you get a table. It is well worth it for the money, about $55+ tax & tip/guest, as you get a good sized appetizer, an adult beverage (or alcohol-free, if you prefer) and a large piece of a delicious layer cake. I also strongly recommend getting seated an hour before the fireworks start, to ensure your food does not get cold while you are outside watching the fireworks. Better communication is definitely needed from the moment you make the reservation to the evening you arrive at Bay Lake Tower to attend the event. We never even received a confirmation email, so I was not 100% sure we were even on the list. Signage in the lobby would be extremely helpful, advising guests to go up the elevator to the 16th floor to check in. With that said, the staff here works hard to give you a good experience, and Jaylen, Travis and Patricia saved the evening for us. Thank you all!

This place is great if you want to have a great view of magic Kingdom during the fireworks. I've heard it's hard to get a reservation and I can imagine why, it's not a huge place and it's located at a very popular location. The drinks are good but a quite over priced. The food is ok again but severely over priced for what it is with the only thing priced appropriately is the 7 layer chocolate cake which can be shared as it is quite large. The pretzel everyone mentions is good but again way very over priced. The server we had was very nice and even offered us to box the second cake included with the wicked wind down to take home. He did forget that I requested no ice in my first drink and i had to request water refills and soda refills several times and wasn't very fast at bringing the drinks, but he was pleasant overall. One final thing to mention is that it looks like an adult bar like nomad lounge at animal, or similar but somehow it's so noisy and the kids are rather until that it feels like you are in a kids lounge. I would go again mainly for the view and maybe a drink, but knowing what to expect helps.

Great idea and setting, but the service was sub-par. It took over 20 minutes to receive a mocktail and another 20 minutes just to check out. The server then offered to comp the drinks, but the bill had already been prepaid. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Making the shortest people sit on the tallest bar stools when empty tables are scattered everywhere is ridiculous. I understand there is a ticketed experience for fireworks, but if those people are not at the lounge 15 minutes prior to the start of fireworks then those tables should be given to other patrons. 0/10 do not recommend.
My one-star review is likely premature. Never got to taste the food, expensive the service or atmosphere. We were asked to wait for tables to be clean and the bartender to 'catch-up'. All while we couldn't order a drink while we sit outside the lounge on the patio. 20 minutes later the 'lounge' was half empty with tables still not clean and my party is still outside waiting to order a drink. Not again....DVC continues to disappoint.
