Highly recommend. We were visiting family and they took us here. Great cocktails; guys had the chili Manhattan and I had the gingerbread espresso martini, then we had oysters and beets with whipped feta... all delicious. For dinner, we each had something different so we could share and sample. Chicken cutlets and pork were amazing as were the duck and ciopinno - foil boil. Then the key lime cheesecake to top it off. Plus we had a great Dr Francks Riesling for half price. Will definitely be back!

Our waiter was very attentive and really presented himself in a way that matched the atmosphere, it was appreciated! The dill pickle egg rolls were really fun and they clearly put thought into the experience of eating there. Very nice local option for a nice dinner out.

Last minute decision turned into a delightful evening. We had deviled eggs and red steamed shrimp to start. Southern Fish Fry and Steak & Frites for our dinner. Delicious food, wonderful service (ask for Sydney!!!) and a cozy atmosphere.

We just had a great time for my Mom’s birthday. Our server Mackenzie is the best server I’ve had in years at any restaurant. Her genuine enthusiasm for us to have a good time and be happy with our meals was felt by the whole table. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was bright and enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

Really good food and great location. Outdoor dining and bar available. You can choose self-service at the outdoor tables or get excellent service inside at the open air sunporch. There is also a more formal dining area indoors for inclement weather. The indoor bar has a better selection of beer than the outdoor bar and FYI if you order wine outside it will come in a plastic glass which I personally wasn't crazy about and don't understand since the beer came in glass. We had the coconut shrimp and the salmon. It was delicious! Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful clean environment. Our table was ready at our reservation time. The service was wonderful. Our food was all sooo very delicious. We had the coconut shrimp, Cajun blackened shrimp, fish fry and an Angus burger. We had our 13 year old with us and she even loved her grilled cheese. We made sure we saved room for dessert and the key lime cheesecake will keep you coming back for more. We definitely will be going back

The food was amazing! My family of 4 had a great meal with great atmosphere! We had the snapper sandwich, chicken tenders and pit beef sandwich with fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor! The bartenders and food service staff were great. Can't wait to go back again!!

The fried pickles are amazing. Not what I expected but pleasantly surprised! Oysters from Canada were excellent. Beef , steak excellent. There brown Boston bread was amazing. Excellent presentation, execution, and value. Great views too.

The best dining experience I’ve had in upstate New York. I found Galene on a Google search and decided to try it. I was not disappointed. The service was outstanding as was the food. I highly recommend Galene.

Our food was top notch. The Red shrimp for an appetizer is always excellent. My husband chose the pork for an entree, which he loved. The Eggplant cavatini was my selection, and it could not have been better. I could eat only half the portion. Another thing I really appreciate is the bread at Galene - Boston brown bread and crusty Italian. (Do NOT serve me rolls from a package! ) Our server was very attentive and friendly. It was super dinner in a very pretty environment by the lake.

One of our favorite places directly on the lake. Top notch food, service and atmosphere. Bar is beautiful too with high tops. Sunroom has open air feel, but dining room indoors is lovely too. Tiki Bar & food outdoors is available on the outdoor patio directly on Conesus Lake on a nice warm day on Fri-Sun. A true gem.

Out for a Sunday drive...our original late afternoon dinner stop was unexpectedly closed.. bummer .. Time to regroup, remembering a spot we had not tried, "Galene" ... fingers crossed. We arrived before 4, FYI Sunday hours 4 to 9. As we wait we notice other cars arriving, and by 4 there were several party's in line, and other cars arriving ,always a nice sign. Interior very upscale and modern, lovely lake view, with boat docks. A creative cocktail menu priced fairly, a demerit for not having J.W.Black though, bar service: excellent. Menu again creative, with Vegan and other dietary options also. Our choices were perfectly prepared, the wait staff was busy yet remained very attentive to their tables. All in all a great experience. We will absolutely be back.

The menu needs a bigger selection of Entres. The restaurant is very elegant, with nice a atmosphere. The waitress was very accommodating. They should offer 8 and 12 oz steak dinners. I'm not sure who could eat a 24 oz steak dinner. Also , offer more bread , or ask which bread we would like.

We went here for dinner immediately following our engagement. The staff was so nice, the food was amazing and the view was still beautiful even though it was a rainy day. In the midst of the emotions of being engaged (and maybe a few glasses of wine), I forgot my purse at the table, not realizing I did until the next morning. Luckily, I was able to get ahold of the restaurant who did confirm it was there. Unfortunately for me, I live 2.5 hours away. Fortunately for me, the owner personally mailed my purse back to me so I did not have to take time off of work to go retrieve it. The food was amazing but the customer service was next level. We will be going back here in the future!

Amazing atmosphere. Watched the sun set over the lake. The service was- perfect- not intrusive and yet there when you need it. Great job! The food was priced properly and tasted good. My only "rub" - I want an actual salad with a main dish entree or some other non starchy veg. It needs not be much but something. I think this trend of buying a salad for almost as much as the main entree is bunk. Charge us a wee bit more and add some green beans or wilted kale salad or something! P.S. nice touch with the saffron threads on the salmon.

So very good. The customer service by Cassy and the rest of the crew that worked with her was superb. All servers were on point, from water and drinks to grabbing dirty plates, and providing extra napkins. The food was quick. It was nice to see management do the rounds, thanking us for coming in. Our meals were so delicious. We ordered the Vegetable Ceviche, Steamed Red Shrimp, Beets and Whipped Feta, Crab Cakes, and Norwegian Salmon. All were expertly prepared, the sauces were perfect, the tenderness of the crab cakes, and salmon was cooked perfectly. Yes, the Red shrimp is jumbo and tastes like lobster. They cooked them so perfectly they were light and juicy not overcooked and dry. For dessert, we got the Key Lime Cheesecake and decaf coffee. We truly enjoyed our experience and have already recommended to others. The prices are on par with fine dining before inflation. They do such a nice job with great prices. We look forward to coming back, sitting outside on the water, and trying new dishes. Thank you, Galene Team for the wonderful night.

We have been coming to Galene ever since it opened, as this restaurant sits right on the lake and has beautiful views. Food here is always delicious, it is not an extensive menu, but I have my favorites that I rotate between. Love the garlic bread and coconut shrimp, plus the pork with pureed cauliflower. The blueberry Danish when they have it (might only be brunch now) is great, for dinner we have had to switch to a vanilla and caramel cake, also great. You can also sit on the patio and get a limited menu (self serve) and drinks from the outside bar. Plenty of dock space for boats. Great place to just relax and watch the scenery.

Our party of four had a perfect meal at Galene. The crab cake appetizer was excellent, perfect sauce! We had a variety of entrees: Shrimp and Grits, Salmon, Steak and a pasta dish. Everyone was pleased, and our server was excellent and super sweet! The dining are was a bit noisy, but with so many folks there, how could it not be? Definitely coming again!

Sunday brunch was amazing! I had the Smoked Salmon Benedict and it was one of the best breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. The service was fast and the decor was super cute. I believe the owner came and said hi to us as well which was super nice. Not to mention the amazing views. So glad to have found this gem out in our neck of the woods.

The service was professional and fun, the food was fresh, well prepared and delicious. The menu has great surprises and delicious choices. The oysters were perfect and the shrimp scrumptious. We devoured the key lime cheese cake. It was a bit cool at our table by end of our meal.

Decided to try this place after being disappointed by the previous two proprietors. The new establishment has hit it out of the ball park! The place is clean, the staff is friendly and efficient. Renovations were well thought out for access by boat or vehicle with plenty of room outside as a lake front should have. Modern docks and semi shaded or covered outdoor dining and bar, as well as indoor dining. We choose to order outside at a service window and sit viewing the lake. My son and I are Reuben sandwich fans and always get one if offered. We haven't had a PERFECT Reuben in years until last night! My wife ordered the House Burger, took one bite and although likes ketchup on burgers didn't want to spoil a perfect burger. We will be back to try their other offerings, and will dine inside next time. We're looking forward to another visit. I think we found our new go to for excellent food and atmosphere!

Another place where google should allow more than 5 stars! This was a wonderful experience. The food is absolutely wonderful and the service is top notch. We had a large group and we had already had a few drinks before we got there, so we were a little loud and maybe even a little obnoxious. They were so professional and patient with us. Young John was our server and he was nothing short of outstanding. And! The food was also nothing short of outstanding as well! Wow! Out of 14 people in our group, every single one of us loved our meals. You know that feeling you get when you take that first bite of an amazing food, and your heart melts a little? That’s about the best way to explain it. We can’t wait to get back! Thank you Galene!!

Visited on a late March, snowy, blustery day, and it was so beautiful! The food was served in a very timely manner. The taste of everything was exquisite! The service was incredible. We're definitely going to make this a regular place! Edit: not all of the menu items are on the list to review. Also recommended: coconut shrimp, filet. Salads are delicious!

We had a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted by the hostess & she said the kitchen was closing up for lunch service. She went to check if they could accommodate us and then promptly sat us at a table next to the large, open windows looking out on the lake. Wonderful view! Our server, Piper, was very friendly, energetic & super helpful. The meal was delicious. I had the open-faced chickpea salad sandwich. Excellent presentation & tasty. After our meal, Piper said to take our time & enjoy the view. We never felt rushed to leave. She recommended we come back & try their other restaurant too. We will be back here & will try the other place.

We had dinner tonight on a beautiful evening overlooking the lake after we docked our boat. The food, the weight staff and service in the atmosphere were all fantastic. I would absolutely go here again!

PHENOMENAL! Came to Galene for the first time for date night. Our expectations were certainly exceeded. We ordered a few cocktails and some apps, everything was 5 star. Maleena was our server and was exceptional! I would reccomend this to anyone as it truly is a come as you are place. Anywhere from swim trunks at the dock bar or classy inside. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Very lovely experience! My boyfriend and I decided to try it and it absolutely did not disappoint! Bread was delicious, we had for an appetizer the lobster-like shrimp and it was some of the best shrimp that him and I have ever eaten! He got the 24oz Delmonico and I got the Steak and Frites! Cooked to perfection and amazing flavors! Got some dessert and that was so good but we just couldn’t finish it, so we brought the rest home. We didn’t even have the time to take photos as we just wanted to dig right in! Our waitress was super sweet and we got to sit in the sun room which had a beautiful view! We definitely plan on going back to hopefully sit outside at some point!

I've been coming here since they first opened and we have been regulars of their sister restaurant ember for years before. Both restaurants are top notch. We just went Sunday July 13 for my 30th birthday. Our waitress was Caroline and was perfect in every way. Food was unbelievable as always. They have the best espresso martini I've ever had. Galene and ember are my favorite restaurants in the world. If you haven't tried galene, you have to go.

WOW. We love Galene. The atmosphere and service are 10/10. The last time we went we sat in the bar area and the bartender was very attentive. But the most impressive thing is the food - we were blown away. The best things were any of the pastas, the shrimp bao buns, and the red shrimp, but we loved everything (orange chicken and steak frites). The red shrimp honestly tasted better than lobster, and came with a really good garlic butter. We would order this over and over. The shrimp bao buns didn't' just have tiny chopped up shrimp - it had large chunks of shrimp and you could taste them. The prices are also very fair. In the summer you can even see the lake and eat outside which is a plus. Galene is now one of our favorite restaurants in the area and can't wait to go back.

Stopped in for drinks with another couple on Valentine's Day and had a great time sitting at the bar. Have been before for dinner and was pleased. Everything nice will cost you but sometimes it's worth it and Galene is!

My fiancé and I had the best experience at galene! The food was exceptional we had half a pound of the Argentina steamed shrimp which was to die for. The whipped feta and beets starter was fantastic and so flavorful! Our meals on top of it all were delicious! We ordered the steak frites and Gnocchetti And Clams. On top of it all we had the wonderful server Maleena! She went above and beyond to make our experience special and she was so kind! Do not skip on the dessert because the chocolate cake with ganache was rich and a perfect way to end the meal! We will definitely be back!

My partner and I were in town for dinner and they provided a wonderful experience. The Tin Can was a surprise! As a new-bie I honestly didn't know what that meant. I thought it was for plating but NO its canned seafood. Not my type as I wanted "fresh seafood" and that was the only option I saw for scallops. They were VERY nice and took it off the bill as we didn't eat it. We also order the following- Double Cheese Burger Club- 10/10 (fries 7/10) Fried Pickles- 10/10 Street Corn- 10/10 (chips meh/10) Rigatoni w/ Broken Meatball- 10/10 Service- Exceptional service! I would suggest the servers don't focus on price when talking to guests. Just explain what each dish is and how good the differences in your product are. I made it clear I was excited for some fresh seafood and I feel I should of been turned a different direction when I brought up the tin scallops. Atmosphere- Clean and properly priced! Great venue for a larger party's or small date night! Lots of parking and they had an excellent selection of cocktails to choose from. Top shelf liquor options were also good.

Galene is not only the best restaurant in the Finger Lakes, it’s also one of the best restaurants in New York. The restaurant sits in a perfect location on Conesus Lake with amazing waterfront views. The staff were all excellent and made great recommendations. We had the wasabi caesar, tin of octopus, rigatoni w/broken meatballs, dandan noodles, Delmonico steak, and key lime cheesecake for dessert. Every dish was prepared perfectly, to the point where it was just so surprising because this level of consistency is so rare. We will definitely be back and will tell anyone visiting the area to stop in this great spot

I didn't get the other dishes we ordered, but this is the Pork Ribeye, I was told by my friends that this will become one of my favorites. Yes, this Pork Ribeye was delicious, the spiced apple glaze over the mashed potatoes brought this to the next level. It was a little light, but I was content afterwards.

After having 2 prior disappointing restaurants fail at this location, it's a relief to finally have an excellent restaurant be here. It's the best spot on Conesus Lake, and the food, service and atmosphere is top notch. And it doesn't seem to be overpriced, for what you're getting. Highly recommended. We've been there several times, and have had a great time every visit. If they don't bring out a complimentary bread plate, ask them to bring you one. The hush puppy and Boston bread are off the charts.

We had a very nice dinner experience with my husband at this restaurant! While waiting for our table,we could enjoy a tasty coctail at the fancy bar. Food was very good.Our waitress Jen with German roots was so cool and funny.We ordered a Rosé wine and it came warm.We commented it and Jen told it to the hostess. Promptly we got another cold and more expensive Rosé wine with the price of an old one.Very customer oriented, amazing atmosphere,views, and food! We will be back for sure.

We had an amazing meal and experience. Our server, Michaela, was so attentive and friendly, she is top notch and had a friendly smile the entire time! Now the food…we started with the Steamed Red Shrimp, so juicy and sweet, it lived up to the “lobster-like” description! I had the Gnocchi and Chicken Confit, it was so tasty I ate every bite, and a plus, it’s locally made! Lastly, they have an extensive drink menu that will satisfy anybody. I highly recommend them and you won’t be disappointed if you try them out!

The food and service were amazing. The restaurant is a lovely not-fussy well-laid-out venue. The dirty streaky windows took away from the otherwise excellent dining and bar areas.b would definitely go again.

Restaurant is very attractive with a great bar, menu, and well presented food. Salmon not as hot as I would have preferred but good. With restaurants now having to charge more, the food should be hot. The service was good, but many used glasses and dirty dishes left on table unless we asked to have them removed.

Pricey but very tasty food. Portion sizes are not skimpy, but neither are they over abundant. Understaffed wait staff (tonight), however the hostess filled in and helped out to get us started. Have been before, will go again.

Attractive and stylish atmosphere, wait staff friendly and helpful, food creative and delicious. Loved sitting by the window looking out over the lake. We had oysters, chef salad big enough for two, and the shrimp and red snapper "fish fry." Every plate has a regular familiar name but there is always a creative delicious twist to it. We opened the place on a Friday night but they were already out of the tuna poke bowl, no butterscotch pudding or plastic bags to hold our take out. Aside from that, we had a great time.

Normally my friends and I go to Embers but we decided to go to Galene and overall the experience was pretty good. We got the Mac & Cheese, Fried Pickles for the appetizers the Double Cheeseburger and Shrimp Sliders for our main dishes which were all enjoyed. I would recommend that management work on a few things. We had a 7:15 reservation and we didn't get our entrees till after 8pm and our server could have been a little more attentive as we would have liked to order a round of drinks but the wait time was too much. As I said earlier the overall experience was pretty good and we'll be back in the future.

Galene was a fun night out. Our waitress Michaela was very attentive and charming. The restaurant was busier than similar spots in the city even on a Sat night. We had the shrimp salad and coconut shrimp, both were great. The chicken cutlet main was good but a tad dry, the special braciole fantastic in spite of coming out early. Dessert bundino was ok. Cocktails included multiple tiki and tiki inspired drinks- all were delicious. We will be back.

My husband and I were excited to try Galene's. If I had to sum it up I'd say it was different. I liked what they did with the place. They had outdoor seating and they added a space that was open air but under the roof which is where we ate. We started with this small plate of different breads including Italian, hush puppies and sweet molasses. I was impressed! We ordered garlic bread. It came grilled with butter and garlic. That's like a magic combination! My husband ordered gnocchi and I ordered a hand basket of chicken tenders. When I asked my husband if he liked his meal the only answer was "it's different". The chicken tenders were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I can't forget about the view. It was beautiful! I would recommend you try Galene's!

Beautiful lakeside space with a nice menu, BUT... Service began well and fell off sharply with little to no attention between the first and second turn of the night. The Beets and whipped Feta were FANTASTIC!! Unfortunately there was sand in our Gnochetti and Clams, and our "Cioppino" seafood bake was over done and served with gas station style Cole slaw.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill since it opened. It has an amazing atmosphere (other than the screaming kids 2 feet from us, smell and flies in the open areas) and drinks but the food and service has become sub par especially for the price. Floors were trashed, no soap in bathroom, rushed dinner but slow on water and drink service, etc. This used to be my favorite local spot. Our dinner was a new low. The food was not good and we didn’t finish it. Don’t bother with the foil broil haddock. Dry. You and your staff need to do better. We will not be returning.

The food is amazing. I've left good reviews on facebook and have sent family here when they are in town. Sadly I can't handle some female members of staff anymore. The condescending attitude is too much to handle

I recently had an unfortunate experience with Galene while trying to book a rehearsal dinner for my wedding in October. I initially reached out to them at the beginning of November to inquire about reserving space for this special occasion. To my surprise, they informed me that they do not accept bookings more than 3-4 months in advance. I understand policies like this exist, so I asked for clarification on when I could make a reservation. Due to the busy nature of wedding planning, it took me a couple of months to circle back to this task. I reached out again, eager to secure a booking so I could send out invitations on time and alleviate any last-minute stress. I offered to place a deposit to reserve the space, hoping this would demonstrate my commitment. Unfortunately, my attempts to communicate with the restaurant were met with silence, requiring me to follow up multiple times for each email I sent. After much back and forth, they finally informed me that they do not accommodate parties of my size, which is information I could have used back in November. This was not only frustrating but unprofessional, has left me scrambling to find an alternative venue in an area with limited options. The lack of clear communication and the dismissive attitude during our interactions were disappointing, especially during such an important and stressful time as wedding planning. It would have been far more considerate and professional for the restaurant to inform me of their limitations from the start. This experience has left me with a negative impression of Galene, and I hope they can improve their communication process for future clients.

Have tried to make reservations twice. Once by phone and they decided to cancel Father’s Day brunch but wrote our phone number down wrong and couldn’t notify us. Showed up to a closed restaurant. More recently sent a request for a group on the website so information would be correct. Have not received a response. Response: yes, filled out large group request on the website site. Also tried to call 3 times when you were open and no one answered.
