Great Carne asada, I'd definitely come back for that alone, well prepared and cooked. A little bit of comedy while I waited for my meal, and the convenience of two hookers soliciting me after I got to my car, couldn't beat the service this place offers!

I've been going to sammies since I was a baby too young to sit out of a carrier, Its almost like a second home to me and all the people are super friendly. To this day the food is absolutely fantastic and anyone who tries it will probably say the same, there's something for nearly everyone 😁😁😁

The Tripas were cooked perfect, i had the #39 , a chile relleno & a beef enchilada rice & beans .it was a big serving i didn't think i was going to be able to finish it all but it was so good i almost finished it all. The staff was very welcoming & very friendly. I highly recommend this place for the quality food.

Great place!!! Only restaurant in antelope valley that reminds me of boyle heights. I would suggest the shrimp cocktail with the large corona. The carne asada fries are on point as well. Cool people behind the counter that are always nice. The salsa bar is fresh and the chips are nice and warm.

Amazing food no matter when you go. Best shrimp cocktail you can find in the area. Burritos are amazing, and the special plates will fill you up like no other. Micheladas are no joke here. Absolutely love Sammy's for the food, drink, atmosphere, and knowing when we come in we are treated like family.

Tastes like REAL Mexican food like you get down there at the vendor's carts on the sidewalk. Also, they are generous with the amount. I recommend the Burrito's and the Enchiladas, too. It's a good place to stop for lunch if you are in a rush. Fast, efficient service.

I love the food here especially the shrimp cocktail. The staff is friendly and they have great prices. They were not busy when we were there, with plenty of parking and plenty of indoor (air conditioned) seating inside. They also have a drive-through but we didn't try that.

A few days ago I had a very negative encounter with an employee here. It left a bad taste in my mouth so I then left a very scathing but factual review based upon that experience. Today, I called and informed the owner, Mr Sammy, that I'd like to come in and speak with him about something. (I never mentioned what it was about.) He agreed. Later that day I went there and we spoke man to man. I'll just say that I was quite pleased with the professionalism and politeness displayed by Mr Sammy who had already addressed the issue with his employee. (He is an absolute gentleman and I respect him.) It was clear to me that he 'got it' and fully understood what I was trying to convey. So for this reason I have deleted the negative review and am replacing it with this one because the food here is actually quite good. ANY of us can have a bad day because we are all people and none of us are perfect. I cannot condemn a place that is generally good over just one mistake. If you like good Mexican food I would highly encourage you to try Sammy's. I have enjoyed every dish I've tried and especially like the enchilada and taco plate.

This is definitely our go to Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is amazing and authentic. It is very apparent that this is a family owned, family run business. They are super friendly, courteous and helpful. Food is awesome!

Today was my first time ordering from Sammy’s restaurant and I must say I will be back very soon! I moved from Bakersfield, California 6 years ago and I just could not find a flavorful carne asada burrito until now. I can’t wait to take the kids so they can pick out their own burrito, I also would like to try other items on their menu😋

I love Sammy's. Been coming here for a few years now. I always enjoy the food. It's always fresh and well-prepared. The service is the best. They are always so nice and helpful. Their salsa is delicious. It's a cute place well decorated with Mexican colors and memorabilia. I highly recommend this restaurant to someone who is looking for authentic Mexican food. Just look for the bright green truck parked in front of the establishment. Enjoy!

The food is excellent just like I remember, authentic Mexican food and I think there is nowhere else that has better Mexican food. Ok I love Sammy’s and have been coming here for years for their tacos. They have some of the best tacos in the AV. Recently though, I hosted Christmas at my house and my mom wanted to do tamales so I bought us some pork tamale plates so her and my dad would give their approval. As a side note, we have made our own tamales for many years, since I was a child, at my grandmas house. She has since passed, RIP. But I digress! The tamales were fantastic! Lots of meat and not dry, which can be a common problem if cooked incorrectly. I spoke with Sammy’s daughter who was working the front and she gave me all the info needed to place a catering order. My order was accurate and it all tasted amazing! I ordered 36 tamales, both pork and chili/cheese, a tray of beans, tray of rice, tray of chips and 2 different salsas. I have to say they have some of the best beans I’ve ever had in my life. They are so dang good. Their prices are on the higher side but you’re supporting a local business that truly has amazing food and excellent customer service.

Great service, good Mexican food. Was surprised how nice the inside of this place was. It felt really old school and authentic. I had the asada tacos combo, and I added an extra taco. The beans and rice were delicious. The tacos were also great. Weak beware adding extra hot red sauce from the bar. ITS HOT! I like how spicy and tasty it was! They also have free chips, and real salsa to dip them in available from a self serve counter. Overall very good experience, and would recommend.

Finally I made it to the right Sammy's .. I was staying up the road near the other Mexican restaurant . They have a sign w Sammy's Carlos .. I ended up eating there each day but the worst part was I called my orders in. Well finally I go to get it and hear that I called ur place. The bottom line was I thought no one could match them which now called Ayurro I think .Tho u all kick.buttt So come one come all . Eat be happy.cuz it's worth it. Food was good and the prices were reasonable. Great customer service. Although the place is a little small, so eating inside feels cramped.

The menudo was really good, lots of meat, husband had a mojarra which was cooked right on point, not dry at all crunchy yet soft and moist on the inside, reasonable prices and the micheladas ate bomb.

Food is the best. This is the first when I order a cóctel de camarón its perfect the way it is. Hands down one of the best Mexican food in the AV. Beware, it's best to take it home. Inside its really small and stuffy.

It's good , actually better than most Mexican restaurants in town . They have authentic Mexican food sort of the way my grandmother used to cook . The place is simple but the food is tasty which is what matters .I recommend it if you enjoy real Mexican food , if not I recommend taco Bell.

The food was not great. I went for dinner and ordered a burrito. It had more fat than meat. The rice was dry and the atmosphere was not great.

Very friendly but the food has no flavor. My family had the asada fries, enchiladas and wet burrito. All very mediocre. The enchiladas where the worst, the tortilla was not cooked at all very dry with little sauce. The carnitas on the wet burrito tasted old and dry. The asada fries where the best part but compared to other places not very good. The staff was friendly so thats why i gave 2 stars.

The food look good and tasted just OK, it's too expensive for being Mexican food. My meal cost me almost $20 for eggs, beans, rice, pork in green salsa, and one coke. For the same price I've could had gone to TGI Fridays and have a great tasting burger and a nice cold BEER. Plus to top it off, the meal did not agree with my stomach, I was burping the taste of the meal the whole rest of the day. I was very disappointed.

This is the second time I got sammys and the first time I got a burrito it was so dry and bland. This time i got California fries and it’s as if they microwave the fries and put shredded cheese on top. I tried giving them a second chance but it’s just seems they don’t care about the food they make.

They charge extra to pay with credit cards. They don’t disclose this until after they charge your credit card. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. I hate the fact that some restaurants do this and shy away from them as the cost of credit card processing should be incorporated into their profit margins from the get go. If I would have known I would not have bought from here. Unfortunately I wasn’t told until after the card was charged, the lady even verified the amount before charging the card for more!!! Ridiculous!

I ordered a carnitas burrito with green sauce and they put red sauce. My food looked like it was wet dog food. When I called to ask what time the owner would be in Cynthia, the daughter got mad and said she was recording me and that since she already returned my money I shouldn't need to talk to the owner. She had a snooty attitude and did nothing to make me feel better about the situation. Her attitude was uncalled for.

Tried this place out hoping for a authentic small town breakfast feel. Was extremely disappointed! To start, be aware that the agua Fresca is from the machine and the food , while being a large portion is basically from a can. I ordered the chilaquiles plate and three tacos. Beans are canned, the sauce they place in the chips is really bad and the taco meat was old. I’m sad because I was excited to try something new but after a few bites I just paid and walked away kinda disgusted. Great customer service tho!

This place has been here as long as I can remember and the food is always been good. Shrimp cocktail and the Carlos burrito are fire. There's Salsas are all really good. Edit: very sad to see their decline. Carlos burritos used to have meat and lots of it and no potatoes. Now one small piece of meat and loaded with potatoes; with an increase in price. They had the best wet burritos in the A.V. very disappointing.

Worse than a roach coach! The place smells like armpits! The tables are filthy and greasy and the owners are loud and obnoxious. We chose life and left!
