They opened at noon and we were about 20 mins early so we waited in the car until they opened at noon. I ordered Oxtails, yellow rice, Mac and cheese, greens, green beans and brocoli and cheese. We also tried baked chicken mashed potatoes and yams, The Oxtails were cooked well but needed a little more seasoning. The greens were seasoned and cooked well. The baked chicken was delicious, very tender and juicy. The broccoli and cheese I won't order again, the cheese is different and doesn't stick to the broccoli. The rest of the vegetables were good. The service was very friendly. The food is set up in a buffet style so you can see all of the food items. You tell them what you want and they serve your food for you in a Togo box. So the wait time very minimal the way they have it set up. Ohhh the blue lemonade is sweet sweet.

I visited Tampa for a weekend and wanted some soul food, luckily this place wasn’t far from my hotel. I got the oxtail meal with rice, candied yams and Mac and cheese, over all the food was pretty good and flavorful, it could’ve been a tad bit warmer though.

We went Sunday after 4pm. I got the smothered chicken it was flavorful and juicy, collard greens which were a bit too salty for me, and their Mac and cheese was good. And I believe every meals comes with cornbread. They have seats, a bar, and tvs for those sport fans.

A first time visit to Blue Flame and it was a positive one. The inside was very clean, the employees were very nice and friendly. The food that I tried was pretty good. 👍🏾 There was a line but it was not a long wait time. I do feel like the portions for the side items could be a little larger for the price that you pay. I did not visit the restroom as I had a togo order. All and all it was a positive experience and when I am in that area I will re- visit.

I just want to take the time to acknowledge the staff. They were fast, friendly, professional and SMILED. I appreciate Blue Flame for serving liver and onions. The portions are plentiful.

I went today and we tried the spot because everyone recommends them for soul food. I’ve been in Tampa since 2008, and I have yet to find a spot that truly delivers. Their beef stew…it had a weird raw curry flavor. The collard greens were bitter, and the field peas were not fluffy on the inside. The cabbage and broccoli were both chopped in big pieces that were hard to break down. The turkey wings were tender but lacked real flavor. The cornbread dressing was decent but again no real flavor. I cook so I come in expecting restaurants that charge high prices to deliver and all I can say is we went, but I don’t have to return.

We visited restaurant, because was told food would be great. Unfortunately, it wasn't The turkey wings were salty, and taste as if it was boiled quick , therefore the meat was just smothered with gravy to camouflage the flavor. The so-called blue cake and drink both had toooo much sugar, which isn't good for anyone's health. I hope they improve on cooking methods, because we ALL want this restaurant to be successful..

I ordered my food on line because I saw the reviews for the difficult parking. When I arrived the lady at the corner just looked like she did not want to be there. Very little interaction with the greeting and closing. After I got home my food the sides was wrong for the entrees. In addition, the corn bread was not included. Which had me annoyed a little because I wanted to try it and it was part of the meal. The food was good but extremely salty. I would not recommend this place for a person with high blood pressure because it will go through the roof. The flavor of the food was very good.

The food wasn’t all that at all . The ribs were a 7/10. The mash potatoes wasn’t good . The green beans wasn’t hitting . The fried chicken wings were okay . The fried chicken reminded me of Chinese fried chicken 6/10. The yellow rice was horrible. The potato salad was a waste of money and time to get . Food is too expensive and it isn’t good . I wouldn’t come back unless I’m just coming to get the ribs and fried chicken only and that’s it . Oh yeah the pink lemonade was really good and the Mac and cheese . $60 done the drain

Disappointed. This place is very exspensive for a soul food joint. I spent $30 on a turkey wing plate and dressing. I don’t understand why they charge for dressing as a separate side order it makes no sense, true soul food joints have dressing 8 days a week and don’t charge separate for it. And then how do you charge extra for dressing and don’t even have cranberry sauce available? Smh. The food was very basic and bland at best. Florida soul food is an embarrassment and can’t touch Atlanta at all. This would’ve been a $15 plate at best and tasted way way better back home, shout out Annie Laura’s kitchen riverdale, ga. Nice women that work up front though.
