Opinions de Rio Bravo Tacos & Tequila Larchmont
Tonight we celebrated my son’s birthday at Rio Bravo. It was our first time there. We had a GREAT TIME!! The food is fantastic! The service was great. The prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back.
All I can say is WOW. FOOD was amazing, first time I can remember at actually being Impressed by the wait staff. The drinks and food were served fast!. Water refills were instant and the dessert churros was amazing. Will 100 be coming back
Enjoyed my first (definitely going back) meal at Rio Bravo! Staff was super nice, very attentive. Love the fresh guacamole prepared right in front of you and you can choose if you want it with a bit of spice. Meal portions are filling and yummy!
Super friendly staff that remembers us at every visit. Margaritas are excellent. Try the torrero! We come back regularly. They love kids here and serve a kids' menu. Saturday nights they have a face painter / balloon artist. They always aim to please. We recommend this restaurant to everyone and often bring friends here.
Great decor and delicious food. Clean and inviting environment! They have all the sports channels playing as you enjoy your meal. The guac and the chicken tortilla soup was EVERYTHING!!! Nice spot for a date!
This is a great place to go with small children. If you eat on the early side you'll see many families and options like chicken strips and fries . The tacos and enchiladas are especially good. We've never had a bad waiter and the food comes hot and quickly.
It's hard to say anything bad about this place. The food is good, portions are hefty, staff is nice and prices make sense for what you get. The menu is extensive and they have a extensive drinks menu too. Hopefully the outdoor seating will continue beyond the stupid pandemic.
Been to many Mexican restaurants in Westchester and this new addition puts the rest to shame. Food, drink and atmosphere were good. ....the wait staff was especially attentive. The salsa needs help, but the Margaritas were exceptional.
Food is delicious. Wait staff is attentive - modified a menu item for a friend with dietary restrictions without any problem. However, it can get very loud around many of the booth seating areas, even though they are not in the area directly by the bar, as the bar fills up at night.
Excellent place! Taco Tuesdays?!?! Come on down! They have great deals every Tuesday on tacos and drinks. The guacamole is made in front of you at your request. Want it with more lime? no problem. Do you want it spicier, you'll get more jalapenos. The staff is nice and the ambiance is exactly what a Tex Mex restaurant should be. There's TV's to watch any sports and there's always good music playing. I come here often so I'll see you there!
This is one of our favorite places to eat. The staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating. It’s a wonderful place to take a toddler…ours always loves to visit and watch the guacamole being made tableside. Highly recommend visiting!
A friend and I went for dinner on A Saturday evening and really enjoyed the Margaritas and delicious food. He had a steak fajitas dish and I had the pork Flautas, both were great. Started with their great wings with a unique tangy and spicy sauce, they were really delicious. We recommend Rio Bravo.
The food is excellent (I had a burrito bowl) and the most amazing part is the interior design of the inside area. It is the most beautiful Mexican restaurant I have ever seen. Kudos to the owners for a job well done!
Stopped here on a road trip for a quick bite and am very glad we did. Service was very attentive/quick and the great food didn't hurt either. Seems popular in the local community as well, highly recommend.
This place is great! My husband and I got married 6 months ago and needed a place to have our Rehearsal Dinner after a terrible experience with our original venue. They were able to accommodate us last minute and we were so happy and thankful. The manager and the rest of the staff were professional, friendly and so wonderful! They really made our night go smoothly!
Great atmosphere, food was delicious, piping hot, served quickly. Friendly attentive staff. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Prices are reasonable. My family and I had lunch there last Sunday for my son’s 31st Birthday 🎂. I’m meeting an old friend there today.
Rio Bravo is a welcoming and friendly restaurant. The menu is extensive with options that should satisfy everyone. The service is excellent and the food is fresh and delicious. And the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, unlike other Mexican places. I highly recommend Rio Bravo.
Went for some pre-birthday drinks at the bar. Super friendly staff, very accommodating, nice atmosphere. Will be going there with family to celebrate my birthday.
Rio Bravo is, hands down, the best Mexican restaurant I have been to in Westchester, and exceeds most Mexican spots I've been to in the City as well. The service is absolutely the best around. Professional servers, great hosts, and Thursday Mariachi bands are spectacular. The food is fantastic. I've never had a bad meal (or drink) and the prices are very reasonable given the inflationary times. Such a great place for a date or to take the whole family. (Try the Tacos Barrias, they are a treat.)
Best guacamole I've ever tasted. There is some kind of secret ingredient. Whatever it is, it's interacting with the lime and giving it a different twist. The menu has.some unique items I've never seen before in other mexican restaurants.
Great place to eat ,great food. Service great. On thursday afternoon they have a very nice live mariachi band. You can eat inside and outside. They have glass doors that open up so everyone can see and hear the band. You can check to see if the mariachi band plays on other days. They also have take out. If you have a delivery service you can have take out delivered.
THE BEST. My husband and I love it there! The staff are SO friendly and very quick and it's just a happy place. We've tried a lot of things on their menu but our favorite is the guac. They make it right in front of you, and it's by far the best guac I've had. The price is reasonable and the portions are huge! I definitely recommend it for people who love Mexican cuisine :)
My boyfriend and I went early in the day and it was just so calming in there. The food was very filling and tasteful . We appreciated the freshly made to order guacamole. We plan on visiting during the evening. What we did not like was the waitress and waiter were coming back and forth taking one thing at a time while we were eating.
Solid go-to Mexican in Larchmont. Better than others in town. Good drinks, Large array of margaritas and tequila brands. Food is consistently good. I always enjoy the Marco Polo tacos - shrimp, bacon and avocado - yum! Good ceviche too, generous portions.
We stopped in on a road trip to Massachusetts based on previous reviews. Our experience was absolutely amazing. Our hostess Nicole was so sweet. The vegetable Fatijas were unreal. Veggies seasoned so well. House made habeñero sauce was so good. So glad we found this place. Will definitely be back when we’re in town. Highly recommend.
Celebrated my mom's 80th Birthday yesterday. The entire staff and owners were very pleasant from planning the event to the day of the event. The food was amazing and the drinks were on point. My family and I had an amazing time. We can't wait to return. Thank you all for an amazing experience. Att. Thelma
My husband and I have been to many of Mexican Restaurants but this place, the food is so authentic and they make you feel like family. We are definitely coming back again. All the waiters & waitresses were so awesome and sweet. IF YOU ARE READING THIS YOU MUST COME BY AND VISIT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 THANK ME LATER!
I’ve visited Rio Bravo three times over the past year, and each visit has left me thoroughly impressed with the food, quality, and service. As someone who pays close attention to the small details, I can be quite critical of restaurants, but Rio Bravo stands out. I particularly appreciate how the design reflects authentic Mexican culture. The staff are friendly and kind and very helpful in offering menu recommendations. The food is outstanding—from the complimentary chips and salsa to the guacamole cart, which highlights the authenticity of their offerings. This has quickly become my favorite restaurant, and I highly recommend it to others.
The food, service and prices are all great! Photo is the korean bbq style taco dinner comes with rice, pinto beans ans coleslaw it was Yum! I was able to order a gluten free style enchilada dinner. They can change flour tortilla to corn they are made fresh. The free chips and salsa are also freshly made. They have heaters outside and seating spaced out inside. Covid compliant... Get your Margarita's and guacomole on!
Great outdoor seating area, wonderful service (attentive and no issue giving 6 of us individual checks) and delicious and somewhat unusual mango club quesadilla ("mix cheese, grilled chicken, mango pico, apple wood smoked bacon, avocados, served with lettuce, pico de gallo and avocado salsa) and this amaizing blue moon margarita 👍
My visit to Rio Bravo Tacos after work, accompanied by a coworker, turned out to be a delightful experience. Despite not frequently traveling to Larchmont, the warm and friendly demeanor of the staff at Rio Bravo Tacos made a lasting impression on me. The food was fantastic, offering a genuine taste of the flavors that make such establishments popular. The positive energy of the place, combined with the quality of the meal, created an ambiance that was both welcoming and enjoyable. It's rare to find a spot where everything from the service to the food aligns so well to enhance your dining experience. This visit has certainly placed Rio Bravo Tacos on my list of preferred dining locations. I am already looking forward to returning, ensuring that it will be my top choice for future outings with my coworker. The excellent meal and vibrant energy provided by the staff have made me eager to experience it all over again. Thank you, Rio Bravo Tacos, for such a memorable dining experience.
This is my first time at this restaurant and I would recommend. The atmosphere is amazing the workers are so friendly from the time I got into the door until I left. The service is amazing. I got the combination which included an enchilada, chicken quesadilla and taco. I wasn’t able to eat it because I was so full off of the chips and dip but I did bring it home. The drinks were good as well. I forgot the name of the drink that I posted but I also got a strawberry margarita. I am definitely coming back again. The experience here was simply amazing, keep up the good work!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Loved this place. Rio Bravo absolutely delivered from start to finish. The atmosphere is fun and lively, the service was warm and attentive, and the food was excellent. We received a gift card for this evening from Christ Church Pelham and are so grateful we followed up... The chile rellenos were a standout — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and not heavy or greasy at all. And the birria was outstanding: rich, tender, deeply savory, and packed with flavor. Easily the highlight of the meal and something I’d come back for on its own. Margaritas were strong and well-balanced, portions were generous, and everything felt thoughtfully done. This is the kind of spot you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend if you’re in or around Larchmont and want great Mexican food with a lively vibe.
The food and drinks are 10/10! And the service is top tier! Have gone multiple times and always the same service. Definitely recommend
For a guy who doesn’t much care for Mexican food, I must say I was very impressed. The place is really nicely decorated; very festive. Perfect background music. Excellent, professional, friendly service. Margaritas are reasonably priced and delicious. Guacamole is prepared table side, and is certainly very fresh. And the food is very delicious. Either I’ve been going to the wrong Mexican restaurants all these years, or Rio Bravo is a special place. Probably a combination of both. Bueno! ♿️
Great food! Super friendly, fast and accommodating servers. I have been here several times and will continue to visit. Great experience every time!
We went in with a party of 6. The free chips and salsa were tasty. We all had different items from across the menu. Everyone was very happy and the portion sizes were just right. Those margaritas hit.
Great happy hour! Really good food selection and great prices on delicious margaritas. We had nachos, wings (they were delicious and fell off the bone), quesadillas and more. We've also been for Taco Tuesday, when they also have great deals on drinks and food. Service is always great. There were a lot of families with children when we went to happy hour on a Friday, so great place for families!
First off I wish that I could give the staff of Rio Bravo more than 5 stars. Everyone we interacted with was beyond friendly and helpful. Food - I have a rule to always order tacos if they are on the menu so when I saw "Worlds Best Taco" in the list I had to try them and they did not disappoint at all! They were amazingly delicious. So flavorful! I choose the three item plater with a chicken quesadilla and enchilada. Both of there were very good but the taco was the star of the plate. We also had the homemade guacamole and it was really good. Can't wait to return when we are passing through the area.
Everything about this place is great. I had the Bravo Burrito with a Dos Equis. The burrito was delicious, with fresh ingredients lightly bathed in a distinctive sauce. The service was fast and friendly, and even the decor was rich and colorful. I can’t wait to try some of their other dishes and their margaritas.
Great food, atmisphere and service in Larchmont a few steps away from the train station. Great food and service. Decor is to be admired. The most amazing statue at Rio Bravo to me is of this lovely lady. Everything about her, her dress, the way she displays it, her hair, her grip around a snakes neck, the basket she balances on her head, is all absolutely memorizing.
About average Mexican text mex style food. The dish itself was very good But nothing amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for our friend's birthday. If I was back in the area and looking for Mexican food I would probably go back. Also the flaming Margaritas were pretty impressive.
This place is good to celebrate a birthday part with friends. I would not be a regular at this place bc it's not real authentic hold in the wall type of Mexican food with flavor. I mean they serve COLE SLAW (please get rid of that) with their entres. Also, my impression is that waiters there expect you to spend so that their tips are bigger. Again, I would rather much go here than tequila sunrise around the corner.
Nice atmosphere. Perfection on that part- date night or birthday dinners fun vibe for sure. Staff is wonderful- drinks were great. Menu has limited to no vegetarian options for fun tacos - standard traditional items only. Modifications to items for dietary restrictions ordering was difficult to accommodate. Food was good, nothing overwhelming satisfying all around sound and pleasant. Would return to give it a second chance to make a 5 star impression.
Too many onions and peppers, not enough meat, presentation was sloppy. However, the drinks are very good. If you get the homemade guacamole, that is excellent. Other than that, my meal was not good.
If you're looking for a quiet dinner on a Friday night, this is not the place for you. When it's busy, the servers are frazzled and service is slow. The women's restroom toilet needed a scrubbing as well.
For some reason the food was so good but 15 later i got really sick n threw up my food. I just had the ceviche app n guacamole with chips and a cup of torrilla soup. But they sang for my birthday n cave me a fried tortilla she with carmel n vanilla icecream in the middle it was so good. The service was great.
The food was great, love the tacos and margaritas, very nicely decorated Mexican restaurant. Oscar our waiter was super nice and attentive. The only thing I didn’t like is that they took too long for our food to arrive, but the reason was they had another party and short of one cook. I definitely recommend it.
Beautiful interior! The drinks look nice & popular here. But I was in the mood for red wine. In love with how the place is designed. During seating nachos and salsa served. I loved the pineapple fajita! Definitely recommend to share that meal with another. It's very filling and has everything you need in a meal. Soup looked* so flavored but I thought the soup needed more seasoning, tasted blend, so I added lime and bit more salt and it was good afterwards. Overall very nice place, I recommend.
I went during lunch mid-week and had to wait about 5 minutes till someone acknowledged me at the front, but the staff was all very friendly and prompt with service at the table. They gave me salsa and chips, which were mild- medium heat. Little to salty for my taste, but not terrible. I ordered the chicken chimichanga which was bigger than my fist and very good. The beans came cooked with bacon. Not my personal favorite, but didn't taste bad. The other sides were decent. The decor is beautiful! Bold, bright colors and themed artwork everywhere. Place was clean. You could easily go here for dinner on a date or with the family.
Follow-up visit: Guac and salsa still fabulous. Service is solid. Made a poor choice, apparently. I guess Chimi’s mean something else here? Back home in AZ, we deep fry them. Apparently, it’s just a wet burrito here (see pic), and not too tasty at that. ————————— Fresh made, yellow corn tortillas & table side guac. What else do ya need? Dropped in for an after work meal. Being from Arizona where Mexican food options are fairly abundant, I was little skeptical - but this place did not disappoint. Food was very solid. Tableside guac was delicious. Aloha tacos (chorizo & pineapple? yup, it works) were different in a good way. The fresh corn taco shells had a really great texture. Service was friendly and effective - all in all, a great meal.
Rio Bravo is the real deal. Fresh, bold, and packed with flavor. The second you walk in, you get hit with that warm, authentic Mexican vibe — sizzling fajitas, homemade chips, and salsa that actually tastes like someone made it, not poured it out of a jar. The portions? Generous. The flavors? Legit. Tacos come loaded, the guac is creamy with the perfect lime kick, and the margaritas hit that sweet spot without being too sugary. Service is friendly, fast, and they don’t make you feel rushed. It’s the kind of place you finish your plate, lean back, and say, “Damn… that was GOOD.”
Pretty standard Mexican fare here. The 1/2 price pitcher of margaritas for their Monday night deal was okay at half off but would have been well over priced at full value considering it seemed a bit watered down. We were there on a Monday so it was pretty slow, but the place is large and can accommodate a hefty crowd. Our food was out in minutes and was pretty good. The price does seem a little high for what you're getting all around, though. For the amount they charge, the food doesn't stand up. Guac was fresh made at the table and was tasty. I would consider going back another time to try out one of their other deals ($1 tacos at the bar on Tuesdays) but for a full-price meal with drinks, I'm not sure it's worth it.
3.5 stars really. The cheese sauce is yummy. The food tastes pretty good. But the atmosphere is kinda corny. And if they have a mariachi band playing, it gets really loud and annoying. But I think it would be a good place to drink.
Maybe I went on an off day but me and my GF agreed that the best part of the meal was the guacamole. First off, the menu is too large with many odd offerings. Korean tacos? Aloha Tacos? French tacos??? I ordered "Worlds Best" and she had the "French". Nothing was horrible but nothing tasted fresh either. Everything tasted like it came out of a microwave. And what's with the cole slaw? It tasted like ordinary deli slaw with some corn added. Drinks were decent but again, too many choices of margaritas. Well, maybe not too many if properly prepared. We ordered 4 different types and aside from the jalapeño infused one, the other three were indistinguishable from each other. Decor is where this place stands out. Very nice inside with art everywhere. The ambiance is outstanding. Sadly, it seems like they have become complacent with the bland and mediocre food that they offer.
I normally come here and have a good time. The food is good, the service as well. However, I made the mistake of coming here on a Saturday night and it turns out they have a DJ playing really loud music. It was 8pm and we could barely have a conversation during dinner thanks to that. Maybe hire the DJ but keep the music lower since it’s not past midnight and it’s not a party.
It okay for Mexican food. It is kid friendly and service and delivery of food is prompt, which is blessing when you just want a quick meal with the kids. Also, a great place for cocktail hour with friends (with good bar appetizers) as they will put you in the back away from the families.
My families food was good. My food although taste good contained chopped onions and peppers that were cut in half. Who eats a half of a whole onion or pepper? Extremely lazy cooking on that dish. Made the dish inedible and was sent back. The rest of the staff were polite and professional. Could have done without the large family singing happy birthday praise Jesus 20 times longer than it should have. But that’s no fault of the establishment.
I was a bit dissatisfied when I found out you cant do top shelf half off margaritas on mondays. Since what I really enjoy is the half off pitchers on monday. But anyways, the cheese dips is to die for with unlimited chips as you can keep ordering. Unfortunately, the reason I'm giving a three stars is because the three times I ordered actual food, I was very disappointed in the taste.
Nothing exceptional, but overall we enjoyed our experience. Food and drinks were on par with most of the Mexican restaurants in the area. Drinks were actually pricier than the food. Service was friendly but not necessarily attentive. May give it another try, but there are plenty of options in the area of equal quality.
Place looks nice on the inside but don't come expecting authentic Mexican. Flavors used don't fully represent what Mexican food actually is, and the taste of the food suffers from it as well. This would probably be a nice spot for those uninitiated to Mexican food but this wasn't at a level where one should go. With no disrespect, it feels like an elevated taco bell.
Honestly disappointed. Came here specifically because my girlfriend and I were craving the queso fundido with chorizo. They brought us a queso fundido. As we’re about to dig in we realize there’s no chorizo. When we asked the waiter he apologized and said they ran out of chorizo and don’t know why it was sent out without asking us for alternate options. So they take the queso fundido back and we order Buffalo wings instead.. Our main course comes out which were the chicken flautas. The chicken was dry. The flour tortilla was over fried. The rice and beans weren’t tasty either. Sorry to say but it all tasted stale or old and/or microwaved. Not fresh at all. I usually try to finish my meal but I just couldn’t. I do like the atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s big, spacious and well decorated. The staff is friendly too. I don’t blame them. I think the problem comes down to the quality of the food the restaurant is using in my opinion. I’ve had authentic Mexican food. This isn’t it. Literally the best part of our meal was the Buffalo wings appetizer that we got afterwards. Also in credit of the staff, they were nice enough to give us a complimentary churros dessert which my girlfriend says were good. She enjoys churros so I’ll take her word for it. I’ll also add that this is like my third time eating here and the previous times the food wasn’t memorable either. I finally decided to write a review after today’s experience. Like I said, the staff is great; the restaurant itself looks great but I’m not a fan of the food.
This place has sadly gone downhill in the past year. I’ve been here with my family/friends over 30+ times in the past 6 years but we won’t be going anymore or bringing visitors bc of the unpredictability of the food/service. Cons: Menus have a bad smell and are dirty- so stinky! Extremely off putting before you eat! Margaritas taste watered down- they used to be good. Service is just ok at best. Food can be very bland Pros: Restaurant looks nice, very cute decor. Good salsa and cheese dip and guacamole. Good slaw.
I had high hopes about this place because of all the raving reviews, however my friend and I had a bad experience with some things: - the music was too loud. - The margaritas were watered down, tasted too much like fake syrup - The men’s bathroom was untidy and dirty -The food tasted okay, but we both got sick as soon as we came back from the restaurant, and it was overpriced for what you get. The one thing we can’t complaint is the service, that was great.
Went to lunch with 3 friends on a day that was dangerously hot outside which is important to the review. We ordered drinks and chips… awesome. We ordered lunch and another drink and noticed it was getting hot inside. Within minutes, the restaurant was oppressive. We asked the staff what was going on, thinking the AC broke and we would have to take our food to go. Well, the owner left, turned off AND LOCKED the AC! OUTRAGEOUS!!! The wait staff got in touch with the owners wife (who lives upstairs) and she seemed put off that she had to turn on the AC because there were so few customers. By this time, we were all sweating and annoyed. We were about to leave and refuse to pay the bill but the waitress-who couldn’t have been nicer quite honestly- told us she would be stuck paying if we walked out. We paid but I’m leaving this review so everyone knows what horrible individuals own this restaurant.
Tried out this restaurant because I purchased a Living Social coupon. I arrived around 7 o'clock. We were seated quickly. We were asked if we would like some guacamole? I said yes assuming I'd only have to pay maybe a buck or two... Nope! $9bucks for a small bowl of guacamole! Ridiculous. Drinks were OK, food was just okay.
First time in a long time that I went out for dinner and left hungry. I ordered birria tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were nice, mostly filled with cheese and very little meat. The meat was only at the top of the taco. The rice? Lol, what little there was. Rio bravo is a one amd done for me! NOTHING SPECIAL HERE!!!! This might be a good spot if you are looking for small portions.
Honestly the roof is below mid. There's another location that has way more flavor. We put rio bravo into the Tesla thinking they only had one location but we were wrong once we pulled up. The staff are really nice and attentive so 5 stars for that but the food isn't good at all. Just look at the attached pictures. The "frozen" drinks aren't really even frozen and are not even cheap so you expect a certain quality. I had the salmon and my husband had the soup. The salmon had zero flavor along with the rice and the so called "slaw" had absolutely no flavor. My husband said the soup was 5/10. For a Mexican restroom I expect a whole lot more flavor. The chips and sauce they give u also isnt good. I don't get it. Our bill was $95. As I said the staff were great but the food was not. I would not recommend this place. Lot of better Mexican options.
I had a coconut mojito, it was expensive and not what I expected for having experienced a coconut mojito before. Our waitress was not serviceable, seems as if she forgot that we were their, to the point that I had to ask other people that we wanted to order and at other times having to flag her down. It wasn't even that much people at the restaurant. If I had to recommend it, I would not because for the first impression was my last. The food was not all that, though the chicken wings were good...
Went there to celebrate my wife's birthday. Spoke to the manager about it and I was told he would "take care of it".well it's not taken of.He also also tried to blame his overworked waitress for spoiling the surprise I had planned for my wife. Food was average for this type of restaurant. I will never come back to this place .They ruined a very important day in my wife's life
Stay away from this place at all costs. The food is terrible. I had the churrasco and not only was half of it not cooked properly but the rest of my meal had me leaving food poisoned. Steer clear!
As a CT resident I would never come here again. I came down on a Thursday to enjoy some drinks and the mariachi band and was told “We only accept NY id’s” by the waiter. I spoke with the hostess and she went to talk to the owner who also said the same thing. Awfully disappointed in the service here and which has previously been a pleasant experience.
The waiters try to charge gratuity without your knowledge. A few months ago I sat down to eat and we were only two people. I didn't add a tip because tipping is optional, so I didn't, and the next day I noticed that 20 dollars was added to my card by server Jimmy when I had specifically put down “0” for a tip. I had to go in person and demand my 20 dollars back, and who knows how many people they have done that to and keep doing that to. Customers beware because management then sweeps it under the rug.
