Opinions de Chinese Red House Lebec
This place is SO amazing!! I came from Korea Town, I'm down here for work and this place is so authentic. So delicious. So fresh, perfect and surprisingly a 5 star place!! Food wise. Iv tried, fried wontons, potstickers, hot and sour soup, egg flower soup, mushu pork, veggie fried rice, walnut shrimp, lamb bbq, beef bbq, lemon chicken. Everything was perfect!!! We order a few times a week and will continue to try new dishes as well as keep ordering our favorites!!! Thank you for being here and serving fantastic, home made food. Being out here is so lonely, but when u have really great food, everything seems a little bit better....
My daughters & I eat here atleast 1x a week! Their lemon chicken is AWESOME! I use to like orange chicken but it's nothing compared to their lemon chicken. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant. Everyone is really nice, the service is great ( thanks Linda), and I highly recommend it!
Great Chinese food on the Grapevine. Excellent pot stickers and chowmain. $6-$8 items. Service was quick, server was friendly. Plenty of free parking. Open seating. Prices are fair for being an hour or more away in all directions from any major cities.
Some of the very best Chinese Food I've ever had. I've eaten Chinese food all across the country and I wasn't expecting this to be so good. I had the Kung Pao Chicken and everything was so fresh and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and still crunchy. The sauce was amazing. The Chicken Egg Rolls are the best. The Vegetable Fried Rice was excellent and so fluffy. Everything was unbelievably delicious. This is a definite eating stop for me whenever I'm in Lebec, CA. The prices are very reasonable.
Don't let appearances fool you. Although this restaurant has a limited menu, what they serve, they serve well! I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious, fresh, and flavorful the food was. I truly did not expect this. I feel as if I stepped out of America and onto the streets of China. A five-star flavor experience from a restaurant with fair prices and moderate interior. Will definitely be back the next time that I am in the area. Thank you for the great meal! Justin Braneky LTI Trucking #LTIProud
Been driving by here for 4 years, never stopped till today. Amazing restaurant. Hidden gem. Food was amazing and the lady serving tables rocked. Will be back soon.
Walked over from the truck stop. Ordered the Kung Pao chicken. Hope you like spicy if you order this! It was right at my limit for what I like in spicy. Portion was huge came with rice.
Love this place. Staff is always friendly. I usually order from the menu a la cart. Shrimp Chow Mein, Lemon Chicken and a small white rice is my go to. Def worth checking out.
Really incredible place. Late night spot that I sat in to recharge on a long journey. Cheap sodas, good looking food, and I think my weary traveler vibe lead the very kind host to not charge me for tea. Family owned feel. Six stars
What an amazing find! The food tasted as if I stepped out of America and straight into China.. Flavorful beyond belief. Don't be fooled by the smaller menu. What they serve they serve well! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I rarely describe a restaurant as a true culinary delight, however this place deserves that title. My taste buds were alive as the flavors and textures intermingled and brought me great delight. Try for your self and see! Justin Braneky LTI Trucking #LTIProud
love the hot and spicy soup egg rolls are the bomb kung pow chicken orange chicken beef/ broccoli and shrimp fried rice are delicious live locally and always order take out portions are big
Ok... Stopped here for lunch on a road trip, randomly we came across it off the highway and I gotta say, some of the best Chinese food I've had. We tried the cashew chicken and veggie fried rice and it was tasty, fresh and just good! Not sure when I'll be this way again, but I will certainly stop to eat next chance I get.
So good. Extremely clean. We ordered beef and broccoli, scrambled eggs with shrimp, beef skewers and white rice. My husband loved it so much now I've got to try to make it at home lol. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. Definitely will be back on our next trip through.
Food was excellent. Had the fried lamb with cumin which had big chunks of onion and green pepper. A small egg drop soup was Very flavorful and pretty good size. Had a great experience and plan on returning.
I'm always satisfied when eating here. Everything I have tried has always been excellent, and very tasty. Definitely one of my favorite Chinese food places. Food made quickly. Definitely recommend the general chicken, and pot stickers.
The food was good. There was lots of options and the food was quick.
We were PLEASANTLY surprised by this hidden gem. We got stuck on the grapevine due to a very bad accident. We pulled over to stretch our legs and get food. We didn't want fast food and we are EXTREMELY grateful we took a chance on this little place. The service was wonderful and everyone was friendly. The food was delivered quickly, hot, fresh and fantastic! There aren't combination plates - so eat family style. We enjoyed sharing and trying a bit of everything. We had egg drop soup, egg rolls, pork chow mein, steamed rice, orange chicken and kung pao chicken. Everything was delicious 😋😋😋 I'm surprised by the reviews about service. We had a wonderful experience. This will definitely be our go to stop on the way to So Cal.
Pricing is fair considering the satisfying portion sizes. The food tasted great (orange chicken ad chicken fried rice) and came out steaming in well under 10 minutes when i visited this mellow afternoon. I didn't get a concrete look at the food selection but menu looked medium~large.
Story time? My car broke down, stranding me in Lebec for a few days until parts arrive. It's a fine town. Folks are friendly and helpful. But there's almost nothing here. It seems like the town is basically built around a truck stop. All that to say, this Chinese food has been the highlight of my being stuck here. My only regret is that I waited until my (hopefully) last full day here to try it, but this is immediately ranking among the best Chinese food I've had, and it's pretty inexpensive too. I doubt I'll be coming through this area again, but if I do, you'd better believe I'll be making a stop back at China Red House.
Great food (huge servings), prices, and staff. Very accessible location. Ordered the lemon chicken and the deep fried fish. The fish was awesome, and the lemon chicken was great as well. Ordered the large rice for two people and then realized it was for maybe 4 or 5.
The food was very delicious and fresh. Surprisingly the place was much different from the first time I visited. My food was made to order opposed to pre-made buffet style. I will most definitely return the next time I pass through. 👍👍
Very nice mom & pop Chinese restaurant. Very good food in a traditional menu with many items to choose from. We had the egg rolls, fried shrimp (has coconut in the breading), egg flower soup, and ma po tofu with steamed rice. The portions were generous, ment to allow sharing of the different dishes. The flavors were excellent; I particularly enjoyed the ma po tofu (had a very good balance of spice, flavor, and heat). There was enough left over for us to take some home. The service was very kind and helpful, and made our experience that much better. Quiet relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely mark this place for a future visit. Thank you China Red House.
Truck Driver's Paradise! This is some of the best Chinese food I've run across! Rice was Perfect! Also , the sauces are not sugared like Panda does..it's authentic flavor! Totally Yummy! I had the Green Pepper Beef minus the onion, everything is cooked to order! (Onions have a side effect on me, dare not eat them on the road...LoL) As shown below!
Generous amounts of delicious food at amazing prices!! Came here with family visiting from Korea who needed a break from burgers and pizza on our road trip to LA and it was a big hit with everyone. We ordered Kung Pao chicken, mapo tofu, potato slices, veggie fried rice, and chicken noodle soup. Everything was good but the soup and potatoes were my favorite. The fried rice was a little bland on its own but perfect with the other flavorful dishes. The couple working here were so kind and helpful as well. We were so happy with the food that we ordered salt and pepper squid, fried shrimp, potstickers, and more veggie fried rice for our ride home to the Bay. Again, everything was nice but the salt and pepper squid was especially good. I'd definitely stop here again on another trip.
Must stop for this Authentic Chinese food on rest stop at 5 south,👍 very kind mom n pop resto, and order dumpling and hot sour soup 🤣 happy yummy tummy plus the house special fried rice! I unbearable something so good is put of no where 😜 order additional dumpling and fried rice to go for the long drive down south.
Hard to see at night, but they have truck parking across the street if you dont want to walk from the pilot. Love this place and really good flavor and not just generic food
Ordered takeout. Inside is very very clean. You can place your order on a touch pad if your paying card. The chow mein is just what I like. HUGE PORTIONS. Egg rolls are so good and crispy. Lots of options.
down home Chinese food served by dedicated staff. I used to camp at McGill and would stop at Red House to fuel up before heading out. last time I was there, the waiter came over and directed me to finish my appetizer before the main dish came, reminding me of a loving but firm grandparent.
I ordered a house special chow main it was good in size and a lot meat on it Thank you!!!
This is my second time I was at this restaurant. As the first one, from the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome with their warm smiles and attentive service. The food was absolutely phenomenal! Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection.
Nice American style Chinese place. Kung pao tofu was 10/10. Friendly service in a modest but welcoming building. Also tried broccoli shrimp which was good, broccoli was perfect. Egg rolls are solid with an excellent sauce.
The food was delicious, but on top of that the waitress lady was so kind and gently. Our kids were very upset because they were tired, and she helped us bringing some coloring sheets and crayons 🖍️. She did her best to make our lunch a good experience. I truly recommend this restaurant!
3 minute walk from the new Tesla chargers. Super fast, fresh, and DELICIOUS!
This was my first visit. It was noon on Sunday and the server was very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant appeared to be clean and well maintained even though the building is older. The food was fresh and very good, meeting my expectations. I ordered Orange Chicken that came with steamed rice. I only waited a few minutes for my order.
Ordered the Beef and broccoli, vegetable fried rice and vegetable chow mein. They are very generous with their portions , and I think the food was bombdalishes. Truck drivers…worth the walk. Most of us don’t like to. lol!
Had an order of general tso chicken with steamed rice ,very good portion size ,the food was absolutely delicious.hamds down next time I'm in the area will definitely eat here again
I love this place the food is so good 100% good. The hot and sour soup is mouth warting delicious. I always get excited when I'm driving over the grapevine going back home to Los Angeles because I this is my favorite stop.
Was really good food. Huge plates full. Has a buffet style. And dine in. Just across from Pilot truck stop.
Everything about this establishment was outstanding. We walked in with a large group of 15 people and I felt terrible when I saw the size of the place. But I was absolutely blown away by the service this small local restaurant was able to provide. Linda served us with the utmost attentiveness and prompt attitude. I couldn’t haven’t been happier with my experience. Oh and also the food was outstanding and priced very fairly. If I’m ever in Frazer Park I will hands down be back and I would recommend trying this place.
Absolutely love this place every time we pass by we have to stop and get there veg fried rice omg delicious. Thank u Linda and the owners. Definitely recommend for good authentic Chinese food
I ordered the eggplant with brown sauce and it was excellent. It was served HOT (temperature) with rice. It was so much better than stopping for fast food. This is a small business with reasonable prices. The one person in the front of the restaurant did the ordering, cashiering, serving and cleaning. She was nice and efficient. If you are driving up or down Tejon Pass and hungry, stop here,
Haven't had chinese food in a while...this house fried rice and chicken wings hit the spot😋
Great food! Everything is freshly made. Right now the restaurant is closing at 9 instead of 10 pm. The food is served family size, i would say 3-4 people can eat from one order. Most of the staff does have a thick accent so please be patient and double check they have your order right. The food was fully ready and perfectly cooked within minutes!
I recently moved to Frazier Park and was having a hard time finding healthy takeout food, I'm so grateful for this Chinese place by the freeway, all of the vegetarian options feel super healthy, I usually order Kung Pao Tofu, the sauce has a lot of flavor, it has peanuts and comes with rice on the side.
We got stuck here overnight due to car issues. What a nice surprise to find this little place. The staff was very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed the food and found the portions to be large. There were three people in our group. Everything came to us piping hot and we had enough leftovers for a snack later.
Legit, super fresh, clean, and good Chinese food. I would say the food is less flavorful than Panda Express, but the veggies and meat they use are very fresh and made by order (which means not premade). They do know how to serve you. They also use a very convenient pay system. There is no reason to fuss about the place. Super!!!
Beef Fried Rice is one of my favorite Chinese dishes. This place didn’t disappoint. It was very delicious and flavorful. Just the way I like it. I’m mad at myself for eating it all in one sitting.

Great Chinese restaurant! Food quality is comparable to first rate restaurants in major cities. We ordered Orange Chicken, egg rolls, and house rice, all excellent. Roomy dining area, easy parking. Will come back again.
I got veggie egg foo young. The fried egg part was delicious, the veggies were yummy, and the rice was good too. The sauce is kind of a teriyaki-style. Not sure if that's because I got the vegetable version (like maybe chicken or beef comes with the traditional brown/gray sauce.) Anyway, the food was really good and the lady behind the counter was super friendly. I'd totally stop by again. The atmosphere in there is just "ok". It's kind of like an old school American diner got converted into a Chinese restaurant, but lost all bunch of charm in the process. It's fine. There's a lot they could do to improve the atmosphere.

The hostesses was nice and professional, the restaurant clean. Food was excellent, a welcomed change from the truck stop norm even if it was a small jump from pilot. Was a tad pricey, other than that I enjoyed my dining experience and will be back.
Closed on Tuesday .... Hours not current on Google ... Looks like a great place ... We parked at the truck stop in the back so we could get a walk in before dinner... At 5 pm local time we arrive at the doors ... Lights off ... Dang! Oh well ... I guess we do Wendy's across the road. Maybe next trip? ... A note to the owners! Update your hours on Google when you change them ... Your door says open 7 days a week ... Please address these discrepancies.
The food was satisfying and reasonably priced. I was very comfortable there. I didn't have to wait long for the food. I don't often give five stars, this place was a solid four. I like this place and will return! I 💕 ke this pla
My husband and I stopped here on our way through California. They were super accommodating and made us a sweet and sour tofu dish even though it wasn’t on the menu. We really appreciated it. The tofu was crispy and delicious. The fried rice was fresh and super good. A great place that we almost missed. We had only gotten off the highway for gas. Glad we did.
Pretty good Chinese food given the location. I only get takeout from here and the place never looks busy inside, rarely do I see people dining in (maybe it's the timing?). The food is always ready fast, whether preordered on the phone or ordering on arrival. Service can be so-so depending on who is helping you out. My go-to dishes are the veggie chow mein, followed by Kung Pao tofu (though I am a spice wuss). I'd certainly recommend this spot if you're in the area and craving quick Chinese!
Great little place across the street from Pilot/Flying J that serves good food at moderate prices. Had the go-tos of Broccoli Beef and Kung Pao chicken, both were delicious and enough to serve 4, my problem is I am a long haul driver and I hadn't eaten so two entrees was not out of the question. Will remember this place for future reference, the food was great, service friendly and it met my need for Chinese food in a hurry. Also, the large soda truly IS, it must have been about a quart or so. Wondrous after a miserable morning slogging it up the grapevine.
my crab Rangoon was a little bit spoiled but not to bad, but other then that everything was really good 👍🏽
Two of us ate here in June 2022. It was a Wednesday about 1:00 PM and the place was entirely empty of sit down customers. I suppose we missed the lunch rush. They were very accommodating and prepared my meal without ingredients that I can not have. Everything was prepared fresh and hot. They were not selling fountain drinks that day, although they had a machine so drinks were sold by the can.
Good for a quick lunch or dinner prices are not bad
Excellent freshly prepared food. Very tasty. Fresh ingredients. Quick service. May have to wait during rush hour. Only issue is food is served in styrofoam boxes which was a little annoying. Overall, it was a nice discovery on our way back from Palm Springs to the Bay Area.
Excellent food for take out. There is a dining area. It's kept clean. Think Panda Express. It used to be a cafeteria style like Panda Express. But now they make to order from a menu. You still order at the counter. If you dine in, the very wonderful lady brings it to your table. My only complaint is that my eyes (and stomach) are always bigger than my wallet. Worth it.
I ordered the Kung Pao and I'm only giving four stars because in my opinion it could have been spicier. The woman at the counter (owner?) was so polite and had an infectious smile. I will most likely come back to try something else next time I pass through town.

this place could be a gold mine as it is rt. across from a truck stop that has 100's of trucks daily. most trucks have only one person. I went here and was not ready to pay $10.00 for one kind of meat/main dish and $10.00 for rice. that would be ok if I was not alone, but more than I could eat. Smaller portions for main dish and rice with a reasonable price and you will have to make a bigger place
From the outside it doesn't look like much but when you get inside it did not have an odor did not stink the place was cleaned the bathrooms were clean the portion size for the amount was way more than normal for the price of the food I definitely guarantee stopping at this place you won't regret it
Not the same egg rolls as I remember from 15-20 years ago. Tasted like frozen Panda. Other food was ok. Good amount for the price.
Ordered General Tsos Chicken and paid for the upgrade to Egg Fried Rice (initially I got plain White rice, took it back & I ended up with Egg Rice, my fault for not looking before I left)... I can safely say "What they lack in Quality, then have in Customer Service... Maybe it was just an "Off" day..." I did get a free beverage tho...
Let me start by saying the service is ALWAYS Amazing. The lady that runs the front end is Always very friendly. The food is very hit and miss. I can't even chew the Sweet and Sour pork my daughter and I ordered. We spent $62 on two orders of Sweet and Sour Pork and a Large egg flour soup plus a tip. Just to not be able to eat the main entree. I mean we couldn't chew it at all. It was extremely Hard. I tried to let it sit to get "soggy" then rewarm it but, that failed. Unfortunately I think this will be our last visit. $62 is just too expensive to only be able to share One soup between two people.

Not consistent. I picked up 3 dishes that was phone ordered. When I got them home, veggies were missing in the chow main, and the sesame seed rice balls had been nuked - with melted holes in the foam container. I through out all the food. I have ordered the sesame seed rice balls at the end of our restaurant served meal to take home as a desert later and they were always fantastic. I am very disappointed with this take out lack of consistency.
The service was great but the food wasnt very good. There was any too much salt in the kung pao chicken and broccoli beef. I couldn't enjoy it. The chicken in the chicken fried rice, noodles, and the orange chicken tasted gamey and old. There was also a bug in the sauce that was served with the shrimp. The egg rolls and fried shrimp were pretty good. I was really hoping to love this place since we are always passing through the area.
Employee offered amazing customer service. On it and very polite. However, the food wasn't appetizing at all. It lacked flavor in every aspect and didn't seem fresh (and it was just cooked). Tasted like something that was microwaved but thats been microwaved again. Teriyaki sauce didn't taste like it should. I asked for extra because im a big fanatic of the sauce but I couldnt eat my teriyaki afterwards. Won't be eating here again but 2 stars for the great service, time, and location.
I’m really sorry but as nice as the staff is here this has got to be the worst Chinese food I’ve had in my life. It’s clear everything is frozen. The quality of food is barely food. My meal had the absolute bottom of the barrel cuts of meat, taste like it was sitting out for 10 hours, nearly inedible, and the spring rolls were the same kind I buy in the store but somehow cooked so so so much worse. It’s possible I just got the wrong thing (general tso’s). I hope this place tries to make real food one day, but until then I won’t be going :(
Lady at the counter was nice and helpful. Food was far from good. Too much sauce on the orange chicken. Chow mein was too salty and had the most strange noodles. It also had breaded chicken. Nothing was freshly made. Also, 2 creepy older gentlemen were just sitting at a table just staring down everyone who walked into the place. Take my work for it, choose something else.
Food looks good, but it tastes as if it was fried in old oil. Fried wontons were great, but walnut shrimp was below average, not recommend it at all

Tastes like mall food :l I’d only ever go back if just about everything was 3-4$ cheaper. But I’ll never pay authentic prices for stuff that tastes like fake Chinese food. I wish this place was better :( bc I love Asian food and this is the closest to us. Never again.
If I could give it negative stars I would. Just went in the lady who works here told me there is no combination plates or bowls. You have to buy everything separately I wanted a bowl with orange And fried rice she said $6.99 for rice and 8.99 for orange chicken. That’s one way to close a business.
First time trying this store. The store hours stated the store closed at 845pm. I called to order food at 8:25 pm. The lady said she wouldn't take my order because she was "closing up". It's too bad because we moved up to Pines. Definitely won't be back to this place.
Tried to place an order. 40 plus ➕️ dollars for small order of rice, with wonton. Inflation! At its best! No good, no patronage. Sticking with fast food until I get out of here and back to the east coast!
Worse customer service, food is bad and it smells like little street. Ordered kung pao chicken, took 40 min to make while there’s no one waiting and dining. The boy at cashier is working like I don’t really care. And one more thing, they have 2 restrooms but I had to go to arco gas station to use one there.
The guy at the counter pretends to only speak English. I ordered shrimp egg foo young. Got sweet and sour chicken. He gave supposedly didn't understand English. I can't wait for some egg foo young but for now I eat sweet and sour chicken. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT
Almost empty, saw the cook was Asian. They didn't give me any soy sauce or anything.
First time wasn't the best but thought I'd give it a chance and order something different. Worst Chinese food I've ever had. I think they shop in the Asian Isle at Costco and microwave it. No,flavor soggy chowmein, sticky rice and don't get me started on the vegetables. Jack in the Box is next door and you're better off with egg rolls.Panda Express is authentic next to this place.
I ordered four plates to go today for me and my workers. The food was horrible. It was disgusting. We opened it, took a bite and threw everything away. And the service was horrible.
This guy isn’t friendly, he had a terrible time communicating and gets the orders wrong! By the time we realized it they were closed. The chicken is old chewy dark meat. The egg rolls are mushy spring rolls , he will over charge you and when asked he’ll say it’s a credit card up charge , keep in mind he just does it and never mentions it! I asked for sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce...hit neither 😒 don’t waste your money, it’s expensive food.
Do not eat here! i have gotten food poisoning from eating at this restaurant once I arrived home 1hr of being home I experienced the following symptoms nauseous, sweating, confusion, diarrhea, painful stomach aches like glass moving inside. Worst pain experienced ever.
I would give this place no star if I could. The food was very nasty! Chicken seem like it was stewed with teriyaki yuck! The broccoli was old and turning yellow! AND found hair on the lettuce that was in the plate with my chicken. This is the worst Chinese food I've ever bought and they are high as hell. None of the meats come with rice. NEVER AGAIN
I came here while waiting to charge my vehicle. The lady/cashier told me I couldnt wait in the dining area and had me waiting in the corner entrance where its fully soaked by the suns heat. There's nobody else here and I wanted to wait for my food in the comfortable shade in the dining area.. that's crazy.. don't come here....the food wasn't tasy at all either.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere for a very small restaurant.. the menu is pretty simple and was nice.. but that's all I got to see as I sat there for fifteen minutes.Waiting for service which never came.So I got up and walked out
It's definitely Not what you would expect; prices are of a nice sit down Chinese restaurant. Quality is definitely frozen and prepackaged. I dined in and yet the food was brought out in to go/ and Styrofoam containers. The "Egg rolls"( 3" Spring rolls* ). We're literally the worst I've ever had to be transparent. The food is bland! How do you mess up Chinese food!? I give honest reviews. I AM NOT being petty. I ate "California surf club " in Redondo Beach a few days ago for the same price! I only finished it because I'm tired of Wendy's at the truck stops.
I've ate here 2 times ,and there won't be a 3rd .your lucky to get out of there without getting food poisoning. I think the people working there live in the kitchen area in a makeshift room in the back . Do better china red house or go somewhere else and serve your slop . There aren't many food places up here and we don't need you ,if this is what your putting out .
The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere for a very small restaurant.. the menu is pretty simple and was nice.. but that's all I got to see as I sat there for fifteen minutes.Waiting for service which never came.So I got up and walked out
