Worth the 4-Hour Drive? Absolutely. Call us crazy (we’ve been called worse), but yes—we drove four hours just to eat here. Why? It all started with a t-shirt. My wife spotted some clever merch from this place, got curious, did some digging, and next thing we know—we’re headed to Decks and Docks for a lakeside food adventure. We rolled up around 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday and the parking lot was slammed. Always a good sign. The place itself? Very cool. True to its name, the restaurant sits right on Weiss Lake, with half the seating on a breezy upper deck and a lower dock bar where you can pull up in your boat like a lakeside VIP. We grabbed a table on the deck under an umbrella, ordered a couple draft beers, and kicked things off with a massive basket of onion rings. These weren’t your average freezer-to-fryer kind either—handmade, crispy perfection. Easily some of the best we’ve had. For the main event, I dove into the Shrimp Juicy Boil ($24.99). It came in a boil bag and pan with all the fixings, and it was delicious. Could’ve used a little more heat for my taste, but it was still a flavor-packed feast. Bonus: it was a LOT of food. I left stuffed. My wife debated between the Mango Habanero Burger (highly recommended) and the local favorite: Citrus Pineapple Grilled Chicken Sandwich. She went with the chicken ($13.99) and raved about every bite. Tangy, juicy, tropical—she was very pleased with her choice. Our server (whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch) was fantastic—super attentive and friendly without hovering. Everyone working there seemed genuinely happy to be part of the experience, which made us happy too. Cool touch: at the bottom of the menu, there’s a note that says, “Enjoy your food? Buy the kitchen a round of after-shift beers (6 for $6).” Loved that. We bought them two rounds. They earned it. The whole area around the lake is beautiful and now we’re seriously considering planning another trip just to spend more time here. And yes—we left with one of those quirky t-shirts that started this whole journey. Decks and Docks: Come for the merch, stay for the view, the food, the vibes—and the onion rings.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere at decks and docks. The only thing that could make it better would be to screen in the outdoor seating. Our food was good and our service was alright. They were pretty busy. So I'm not complaining. Will definitely be back. I could live there lol.

Had a lovely--and tasty--visit at this riverside venue! The scenery, service and selections on the menu are all equally delightful. Plenty of seating options (inside, outside in shade, or sun). Don't just drive by when in the area: MAKE TIME TO STOP!

We happened upon this place on our roadtrip and decided to stop by! It’s right on the water and has bubbles if you want to eat on the deck for the views but stay shielded from the cold. The margaritas were so good, I had 2 and my friend had 3! I had the catfish basket and had some shrimp added.

Very cool place, outdoor patio and waterfront bar..had the white sauce wings and onion rings plus patty melt w fries. Service was onpoint food came out pretty quickly even though they were busy. 4 cheese choices for the patty melt, onion rings were beer battered. Very good spot right on weiss lake w awesome views!!!

The food was great, and our server was great, but they were understaffed. They were pretty busy but only had 2 servers working inside & the decks. Again, our server was great & apologetic for the delays. My wife and I dined on the deck overlooking the water. The view and atmosphere were good. The service was great, atmosphere outta this world, the food however left a little to be desired. Wings are small, the pizza is frozen premade crust, check the bottom, never saw a pizza crust with perforated holes in the bottom other than Hunt brothers pizza. Now with that said the food was hot. The beer was cold, the hurricane I had was great, however I’ve never seen a place this size serving alcohol that only has one bathroom. Will I be back absolutely however don’t be surprised if y’all read about me pissing in the river from the deck 😂 only kidding I’m to old to even be able to reach the water from the deck. In the end I’ll say give it a try, different strokes for different folks, and I’ve been fortunate enough to been to many places. Check out my other reviews.

Arrived around 4:15 in the afternoon. Decent crowd but not overly so. Wait staff was prompt in taking our order and then we waited for approx an hour before food arrived. French fries and corn were cold, batter on the fried shrimp was extremely salty. The hamburger steak had little seasoning. It was our first time there so I will keep an open mind and not write it off just yet but first impression was lacking. 2 people was 53$ before tip. It should have been better

Food was good but service was terrible. We were seated immediately they took a while to get us our drinks when we did get them I got the wrong thing and my son’s cup had a hole at the bottom. I didn’t say anything about the drink not being correct I just drank what she gave me bc I thought it was just a little mistake. She then took forever to come to the table and take our order when we did get our food I got the wrong thing again.. I waited for her to come back and again she took a long time to come check on us when she did come back it was because she had a pizza that had been ordered that was finally ready so I was finally able to tell her my order was wrong after that she brought the correct one but didn’t come check on us again until it was time for her to give us the total of our food. We put our card out and expected her to come get it soon but she took a long time I could hear them talking in the back and the place was not busy at all so there was no reason for that. I was very disappointed because I expected it to be so much better than that.

Service was great. Atmosphere was amazing!! Gorgeous setting over the lake with a beautiful view! The food? Extremely sub par for a place that has so much going for it. The chicken “breast” platter was a chopped/formed chicken patty that was grilled. The bacon on the BLT sandwich was thin and flimsy. The chips and salsa seemed like half stale bagged chips with store brand salsa. The stuff you would buy for a picnic would be far superior. It wasn’t “bad” food. Just obviously cheap low end stuff. It did not make us want to come back. Although we might come back just for the view. Will try a burger next time and update my review.

My first and only time ever going here was a great first impression untill right before we finished our meal. We sat at a table beside a half wall and on the other side was the drink Despenser. Someone went to fill the Despenser with ice and the top was on it so we and our whole table was covered with ice. I thought the manager would come and check on us but no. I thought they would take some off the bill, but no. So I paid $70 for a good meal and ice to be poured all over us. If this hasn't happened would have gave 5 stars.

We went here as a family. The 1st time we went the food was amazing. This time the food was not good and no flavor. The Shrimp Boil has zero flavor and less food than the 1st time we had it. The boneless wings were just oven chicken nuggets with sauce. I dont think we will be coming back. The only reason for 2 stars is because the waitresses were amazing
