I've had the opportunity to try different breakfast dishes here and I must say I really do enjoy them. Both the food and service have been great so far, the music is very subtle so you can definitely carry a conversation. Located right off of the 94 in Lemon Grove across from the trolley station so it's easy to get to. Perhaps the only downside is that it's a little small so often times you may have to wait for a table.

Was craving a savory/sweet home style breakfast and am so glad I came to the Lemon Grove Cafe. I’d already nearly finished the pancake before remembering to take a picture - it was fluffy, moist, rich, perfect as a pancake can be! I got the chicken fried steak and eggs with extra crispy hashbrowns, and it was absolutely delicious. Loved the breakfast, ambiance, service, everything. Reminded me of the hearty breakfasts I’d have back home in Texas cafes. Will absolutely be back!

Atmosphere inside and out is such a hidden gem! Super clean! Yummy yummy food. Don't miss out on one of the hidden food mom n pop place in Eaat San Diego were the locals go.

This is my favorite place for chilaquiles verde. Best chilaquiles I’ve had. The tortillas have just the right crunch to it and the salsa is delicious. The only complaint I have here is the under staff. Took awhile to get our order in and out. Only saw to ladies serving and it was not that busy. Other than that it was great experience.

Sat outside with some friends and it was very nice. Service was super, friendly, attentive and efficient. Food was pretty good - had the senior French toast breakfast and it was more than enough and tasty, too

Discovered this place while looking for a spot to have breakfast and read a chapter. What a find! This place has a rich atmosphere with this Route 66 theme that doesn't feel at all pretentious owing to it's scruffy urban feel. There's a feeling of history here, a bit of hand painted sign peeks out from under a neon replacement that feels like layers. The interior has these tall expansive booths covered with a Route 66 themed fabric that would look out of place anywhere else. It feels old but we'll cared for. The staff could not have been more warm and welcoming with a kind of edge, toughness that feels like classical diner waitress without feeling cliche. I was surprised and pleased to see a Greek influence on the menu! I ordered a Greek breakfast dish that was served with a deconstructed gyro that is simple and works really well. The joint (it feels a bit Noir) was not packed, but full and very busy both times I've been here — obviously a popular spot. And it just feels comfortable being here. I'm from North County and only get down here occasionally, but I'm in love with this place and look forward to breakfast whenever I'm down this way.

Great mellowing atmosphere. The server is very attentive and polite. Seated in seconds with menus and coffee upon request. 80s music with great hits sets the rooms ambiance. Coffee is freshly made. Food is great and a 10minute turn around time after ordering. Eggs were decent, but seam to have been cooked in something that took away from the flavor. After 40 minutes of dining, the servicer made less contact with the table and tended to float around the back, speaking with the other servers about personal occurances but still good overall service. I would still enjoy coming here from time to time to enjoy the atmosphere and the food.

Great service! And Food was great for the most part! the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars it's because I ordered their seafood omelette and was disappointed with the seafood aspect of it; the omelet had something like 3 shrimps and the rest was all imitation crab. The sauce,side, and pancakes were all good- I will definety come back and try more things, but probably not that dish.

It's almost not fair to leave a mediocre review, given how hard the staff works, but here goes: I arrived a few minutes before 6PM and stood at the counter for almost 5 minutes before the only server told me to sit anywhere. There was LOTS of seating available, and the place wasn't particularly busy. However, the line server was extremely busy, working very hard to satisfy her customers. It took a full 15 minutes after I entered the building for her to take my order, and another 15 minutes before she brought my Greek salad, which was quite good. I wanted spanakopita but they were all out. I wanted iced tea but they were all out ❓The entree arrived about 10 minutes later, so by the time I began eating the main part of the meal it had been a full 40 minutes since I walked in. I have been here several times before but had never ordered from the Greek or Mexican menus. Some of the gyros and skewered chicken meat was fine but a little dry, and some was overcooked and inedible. The rice pilaf was extremely buttery flavored. The pita bread was oily but tasty until it cooled off, then it was dry and not so good. The portion was HUGE and could easily have fed two people if it had all been edible. There is MUCH better Greek food nearby and I already know (without tasting theirs) that there is much better Mexican food nearby. I think I will stick to their traditional American menu in the future. I believe there was a single cook and perhaps a dish washer. The owner must be trying to squeeze out a profit by running the place with only 2 or 3 staff at a time.

The food would have been better if used quality ingredients. For the fiesta omelette used cheap American nacho cheese which ruined the entire omelette. The potatoes had no flavor and the pancakes were doughy, the crepes tasted bland and watered down. However, for the amount of food the price was great. Staff was friendly.
