Fresh food, excellent tacos!

Nice spot for some munchies. The food tastes great. I wish they served alcoholic beverages to go with the tacos and quesadillas. I would recommend this place for a quick meal any time.

For a place with such a long and interesting name, they make great food. I do understand the yogurt and such part now that I've been in there but I must admit it does sound vaguely off putting to think about yogurt and tacos together lol. It has great food and they give a lot for a good price. I have yet to try the froyo so I can't comment on that. Def a place to try tho.

The best Quesadillas on Long Island

The Best Taco and Quesadillas there are, also their colorful chips with melted cheese it's delicious. My kids husband and I love eating here because they have a big election of meats.

I didn't know what to expect since I've only heard of Taco Joe's but never actually bothered to walked into one. I've been going to a similar competitor in East Meadow for many years but this place is truly on a whole other level. First of all the place is beyond gorgeous! The food tastes like it was all made from scratch just for you. I recommend the Fajitadilla quesadilla..it's awesome! I asked the worker behind the counter why no salsa bar and he said because they make every salsa from scratch and it's time consuming and very expensive to make. They give you side cups with your order though. The best salsas I ever had and I'm originally from the West Coast.

Taco Joe's is like a deli for Mexican food, with their 9 dollar grand canyons (large burritos) being a great amount of food for the price, that not only feels healthy but fills you up. The jarritos (mexican soda brand) they keep stocked in the fridge are great and come in a variety of flavors. The staff is friendly and the eating area is always clean. My favorite Mexican place

Can I request the next Taco Joe's be located in my living room??? I can not get enough of this place. I moved into queens 3 years ago and I still come back. I drive, most of the time in rush hour traffic (NY traffic will take me 45-60 mins to arrive) to take out. When I hit the lotto one day and have my helicopter, Taco Joe's better build a helipad so I can land there every other day. I love this place, I love the food, and so should you. Do me a favor and drop everything you're doing and go eat there. NOWWW!!!

I'd have to say that this Taco Joe's is definitely better than the one in Massapequa can't vouch for the one that's on Old Country Road but I can't say that this one is pretty clean in comparison to the one in Massapequa and their food is fresh. I have a sensitive stomach and their food does not bother me. So count on me to be your human poison senor. Lolol

This is the go-to place for Mexican fast food. So if your looking for a burritos, tacos quesadillas look no further. Service with a smile large portions and overall an excellent value.

Love the food. My favorite are 4 soft tacos with spicy chicken, peppers & onions, guacamole and medium salsa. I usually go vegan so I replace the chicken for black beans [strained].

I’ve been ordering from here through Grub Hub and the food is always good. Delivery is fast & the food is still warm. You can’t go wrong with the tacos, burritos or quesadillas. I also recommend the kids meals.

I should've reviewed this place 2 years ago when we frequented it more often! We LOVE LOVE LOVE the food here! Everything is made right before you and you can pick exactly what you want! My obsessio are the nachos but we're crazy over the tacos and burritos too!

today i ordered two 'straight shooter' tacos. the chop meat was fresh , as was the cheese and tomato add-in . freshly heated soft taco shells were good . . . all at a nice price point . quick, easy affordable meal ! not my first time there, nor the last .

One of our family's favorite restaurants. Service is super friendly and always smiling. The manager is very friendly and regularly comes out to greet us and talk about our day. The entire restaurant, including bathrooms, are always immaculate.

Visited this joint from New Jersey and it is definitely the place to eat at if you're looking for something that isn't Moe's or Chipotle. The grilled chicken salad was phenomenal and having a frozen yogurt bar after a meal makes things 10x better. I wished Taco Joe's were all over New Jersey and New York. Thanks for everything.

I love Taco Joe's and this place is no different. Every time I get a burrito, they really stuff it. So I always have a lot to eat when I order a meal. While I'm ordering I can see the employees cooking the meats. this shows me that the meats that they use for their burritos are fresh. At this restaurant in particular, the employees were very nice and helped me with my order. I would definitely eat here again!

Expensive ( but what isn’t!). The best taco that I have ever eaten. The only thing I didn’t like was that there were too many funky choices and not enough traditional Mexican tacos. The taco shell is what makes it so awesome.

Their food is absolutely amazing. You can't go wrong with fresh ingredients plus all your food is made to order right before your eyes. If you're on a health kick their salads are really good as well.

The service was great and the line was moving quickly. The burritos and tacos were very fairly loaded with whichever fresh ingredients you want. Plenty of seating at this location as well. We will definitely be back!

Fresh ingredients paired up with friendly folks preparing your meal make this joint a winner. The crunchy tacos are cooked just right and include just the right amount of fillings. You can pick what you want in each taco, so they come out just the way you ask for them. The burritos and quesadillas are good sized, so be prepared to share it with someone or plan on finishing it later on. It's in a good location too, easy in and easy out. They are quick to get your meal ready, but this isn't fast food. It takes a minute to get everything just right, so plan on it being a couple minutes before your meal is ready. Totally worth the wait. When you're craving Tex-Mex on Long Island, this is the joint to go.

Great spot! Walked in on a whim because I was in the neighborhood and decided to check the place out. Couldn’t have been happier, food was great, staff was amazing and quick. Food is always great, and they give you insane portions! I normally go with the meteor crater salad with chicken. It’s a huge taco bowl shell loaded with rice, lettuce, whatever protein you want, pico, and guac! Prices always affordable and the food is always delicious. Everything tastes fresh all the time, never any complaints here.

Bumped into this eatery by mistake awhile ago. Never heard of this gem before and i am glad I discovered it! They definitely need a Taco Joe’s in Queens! All ingredients are very fresh and this is late at night towards closing so that tells you they keel everything nice and fresh. I love their service and the restaurant is pretty large and accommodating. They close at 10pm which is a blessing, what Chipotle, this is better and just on par with it and I wanna say even better! Highly recommend you visit this place. Again YOU NEED TO OPEN ANOTHER TACO JOE’S CLOSER TO QUEENS. FRANKLYN SQUARE???

Juicy chicken not too dry, fresh fixings, and not too pricey. A good spot for taco salad

Excellent choice for burritos, tacos, nachos, and bowls. Quality of ingredients are always fresh and prepared well. Chicken, steak, and pork are all very nicely seasoned and grilled perfectly.

The food is good here, and the staff is friendlier and more attentive than I've experienced at other locations. The menu still takes a bit of time to navigate when bringing folks there for their first visit. The portions are excellent.

The line at Taco Joe's gets a line to the door on weekends, but it typically goes fast. The line cooks are organized and heavy handed with ingredients. I don't mind it, it makes for a good lunch the next day. 😉 If I don't finish my Grand Canyon burrito for dinner, it makes for a good lunch.

Portion sizes are usually pretty good here. I usually get a chicken burrito, salad, or rice bowl. All of which I have been happy with.

Fast casual sit down place. Basic menu or build your own. The food is cooked well and is flavourful but isn’t over the top. It hits the spot for a quick bite.

My grilled chicken salad was ok but my wife's salad was very wet and soggy not edible. She only had maybe half and threw the rest away. It's a big salad you get your money's worth as opposed to buying pizza. The gentleman whom I presume is the owner was extremely pleasant and patient whilst taking our order and toppings for the salad.

First off, I wish all the workers there would wear there masks properly and not just as a prop. It goes OVER your nose and mouth! I don’t need people breathing on my food during a pandemic. Also, please don’t have us sign our credit card receipts right now! Our only option for signing is to use a pen which 500 other people have touched immediately prior. What that said... I Love their food and the fact that I can get frozen yogurt at the same place I get the rest of my food. There are some people there who need to learn to smile and not be so grouchy but for the most part the workers are nice.

Absolutely love Taco Joe's. The food is delicious and quick. Staff is always pleasant. Sometimes the dining room tables and floor are messy. They need to wipe down the tables between customers. Overall a great place to eat.

Super fresh food, much better than "corporate" competition. Staff was attentive and fast paced (self order). Location couldn't be better for a Home Depot lunch in a hurry. Loved everything about their food.

This place delivers good value for the price. I stopped in here for lunch and could very quickly place my order. I ordered a half chicken and half steak quesadilla with black beans and sour cream. It comes with a side of pico de gallo, guacamole and sourcream. This quesadilla was think! I was surprised that they actually packed it. Usually you go to these chipotle style places and they put only a little bit of meat but they did a good job here. It tasted very good too. The cheese was nice and stringy and the chicken/steak combo went over well. The staff was mostly friendly. The woman who worked the cash register was friendly and warm-welcoming. It was overall a pleasant experience. Some of the staff couldn't seem to understand me very well. Communication was a little difficult but even so they got my order right. English maybe their second language so points off for that. Either way I would come back.

Pretty good mexican food. Meat is tasty as is the beans and sides. Looks clean inside. Responsible prices. Friendly! Only thing I found odd was a spanish man working there looked scared when I was taking pictures.

Knocked of a star overall and a star off of atmosphere. WHY do they have to have the music so DAMN LOUD??? It's like Cinco de Mayo on the streets of Mexico City! And on top of it they have to music sources playing at the same time!!! Drives me crazy!!!!!! Solid food. Quick service.

Great decor definitely very busy with phone orders unfortunately to the detriment of the patrons at hand. I make my confession I have been spoiled by a Mexican friend who cooks. Sadly it is not here. Perhaps the boss was gone out on this day. Rather though after living in Cali plus after speaking to my co workers who both can cook well they say that the further away you get from the border the food quality diminishes proportionally. I was just expecting Baja Fresh quality but not the one in New Hyde Park, oops it’s closed ouch. Sad things can become so much better.

Not sure. About the accuracy of other reviews. Imo the freshest stuff is the lettuce and tomatoes. The chicken is dry The steak is dry as well this place is just a step above the fast food franchises. I wouldn't go again if I had a choice. There is a spot in westhempstead that kills this place it's a smaller non franchise spot. I think everything is much fresher. And the steak is skirt steak done correctly. Again if your time is limited, I guess it's ok.

Very good food, but I had a problem the other time where the manager would not give me a water cup. Not even a tiny one. I didn't feel respected as a costumer, even though I'm paying almost $17 just for one burrito bowl. They have always done so before, so I don't know what the problem is.

Overall food quality is good and fresh. However, I ordered the meteor crater that was $13 on the menu in the store, but I was charged $16 for the meal, which is much more than sales tax can account for. I even saw the $13 price show up before the price increased while the cashier was checking out. I see online that the cost is $16 but it is false advertising to show lower prices in the store and up-charge at checkout. For context, their other location truthfully charges $13 for their meteor crater and you get a complementary small bag of chips. SMH.

Every time we go her they mess up the order. The food is good but they just can't seem to organize themselves. They gave us 2 big bags this time but I'm missing 3 items. I called and nobody left anything behind. 82 bucks for half my order. I won't be returning because this isn't the first time.

Normally their food is good. I don't usually order tacos, but others in the family do and they usually look decent. This last time, however, the tacos were terrible. I ordered beef and chicken on crunchy tacos. I don't know what kind of taco we got, because they didn't look or taste like crunchy tacos. We ordered delivery, and when they arrived, they were soft, they had a strange composition, and they didn't taste like regular corn crunchy tacos. The inside of the beef tacos was ok, but the chicken ones seemed like they had a weird kind of soft cheese included. Even when I put them in the oven to reheat them, they were still not "normal". One of them fell completely apart. I had to use a spatula to take it out and I had to eat them with a fork and knife. I'm giving a 3 rating now, but If this is how they will continue to make their tacos, the rating is going down and I'll stop eating there.

My daughter and husband were in your restaurant last night December 30 to pick up some food for dinner. It was very slow moving on line. The gentleman behind the counter could hardly speak any English. When my daughter went to order a black bean quesadilla he couldn’t understand what she wanted . She had to resort to high school Spanish. What country do we live in ??? English is our first language and if they’re going to be serving behind the counter they should be able to understand English. The portions were small and put together without care . The gentleman behind them who was Spanish and speaking Spanish got a much bigger portion then they did as we were Non-Spanish patrons. They felt that were in a foreign place in our country. They felt discriminated against Because they were not Spanish. I know that taco Joe’s is a Mexican restaurant but I think you should do a better job in hiring the people behind the counter who represent you . We will never patronize taco Joe’s again .

Use to be better! I usually go to Taco Joe's once a week, cause they are/were so awesome. Lately, they have been very skimpy with the portions they serve, & they have increased their prices. It's disappointing because they use to serve you more for less.

Been coming here for quite a few years. But recently I noticed a quality going downhill. It seems if the manager is not there the food is unseasoned and bland. Ever since the 24 Hour Jack's (in the Box) closed down in Mineola, I have had a serious hobo craving for fried tacos. They were the best! I remember, back before NY took away my license to drive a car because of that unfortunate "Did I just ram the back end of a Corrections Department Bus?" incident, I used to love ending a night of getting hammered by negotiating the Jack's drive-thru and feasting on a pant-load of super tacos. I knew that the night would end with me riding the potty like a Kamikaze pilot who lost his map to Pearl Harbor, but I didn't care. Unfortunately, Taco Joe's is not going to be able to fill the taco shaped hole in my heart. I don't blame them for trying, the same way I don't blame the folks who organize the Special Olympics; but I don't want them to hold the Shot-Put Competition in my mouth. I mean, I could have looked the other way at the squadrons of flies in the seating area, the stale urine smell that lingers no matter how far from the toilet you sit, or the mouth-breathing lazy-eyed dude who mangled my Straight Shooter combo meal with his dirty hands. What I do mind, however, is the UNBELIEVABLE amount of salt that they put in their ground meat recipe. There is not enough homemade jailhouse Prune-O in the world to wash that taste out of my mouth. And then for dessert I had the good fortune to witness another member of Joe's special team flash her obviously unwashed thong while trying to mop up a puddle of vomit left by another satisfied customer. FYI Joe: there is no shame in going to barber college, and your taco's will not be receiving a certificate of participation.

The staff here was very rude. My boyfriend and I walked in ad the lady at the front saw us stading waiting to rider and she didn't even geeet us then we start telling her our order and she ignores us. Then after minutes of us stading waiting for her to acknowledge us she starts filling my boyfriends craft in a very sloppy way. Not only was she sloppy but she also didn't put two of things my boyfriend asked for. As we are our cradles my boyfriend and I realized there was barely any meat in them and more than half of it was filled with lettuce ! I didn't pay to just eat lettuce ! I will not be eating here again.

Ordered 2 deluxe Tacos. While she was preparing them I could literally count the strands of cheese placed on each. Obsessing over that I failed to realize she had not put on my Sour Cream until it was too late and I'd finished choking them down as I entered the establishment starving. Oh well. 🙄👎

Came to the restaurant and they did not have fish or shrimp available. They said oh we are out. So either they don’t order properly or they are not willing to cook the food that is on there menu for their customers. I guess they are only willing to sell what they have left out for hours and not cool fresh food

I stopped here today on my way back from class. I got the meteor crater and some chips. As I am eating my food I bite into something hard and almost cracked my tooth. When I spit out what was in my mouth, I saw two small pieces of something hard. After washing it off I discover that it was a rock that I had broke it half with my teeth. I decided to take back the food for a refund, because I am not having them remake my food since I don't know where the rock came from. I walked in and went straight to the register and the man that helped me, I told him I found a rock in my food and he proceeded to help the next few customers. I waited patiently and when he finally got around to address the situation he looked at the rock and questioned it. I stated I would like a refund and he told me he can not because cash would be missing from register. At this point he was rude to me for dismissing the issue from the beginning and now the person I was with. The manager (who was the same person who served me the originally) said there was nothing he could do except talk to the "big boss" we asked for him to call and he said I can give you the number but you have to use your own phone. After he handed over the phone number I asked for a copy of the receipt and he was rude saying he already gave me one and then the person I was with asked for the name of the boss and the manager was rude and said "I wrote it there cant you read?" The situation is not resolved and I was treated unfairly. There was a rock in my food. I simply wanted a refund. That is the last time I will ever got to this location.

So I ordered food for my staff today and when I received it it was completely disgusting soggy and absolutely unprofessional temperature was disgusting portions discusting, presentation disgusting and I wasted money because half the food was thrown out I wouldn't feed my dog this food and this is from total orthopedics. Would like a refund

Very unfortunate that they are losing a customer of many years because they now charged me $1.85 because I asked for extra onions. I have always received extra onions before with no problems. Plus, my burrito price includes guacamole which i do not get so why cant they substitute? And we all know how expensive guacamole is. They say its a new policy. Couple of days ago I purchased Meteor Crater Salad with Spicy Chicken to take out. When I got home I started with my food and after taking my first bite I I realized that Chicken was too hard so I took another piece and than a third piece and found that it was either not cooked properly or was not fresh. So I packed it back in the refrigerator. Next day I took my food along with the receipt to the Levittown Store and spoke to the manager who flatly refused to exchange or refund the Meteor Crater. Infact he was very rude and impolite and told me to get out of the store and refused to give me his name and said he was the GM for that store. I was totally surprised by his behavior as a manager or a GM. Specially when they have signs all over about the Freshness. There were customers in the store also felt that Manager should have at least replaced the food and should not be rude when the food was not eaten and also had receipt for it.

Their workers need an attitude adjustment. Many others have said the same thing. The food is hit or miss. It depends on who makes it and how fresh it is. A wasted opportunity

I’ve been going to taco joes for years but I noticed for the past two yrs the prices were going up. I understand the whole inflation thing but today I went and got one bowl, one burrito and a quesadilla, that came out to 76.00! Now that’s freaking ridiculous! I felt like I got robbed and I never spent that much in taco joes! I am so pissed I will NEVER EVER go there again. I don’t know if it’s because of new management but today they just LOST a valued customer! GOOD BYE TACO JOE! Hope you enjoyed those 76.00 because you’ll never get the chance to take advantage of me again! And btw the food isn’t that great anymore too!

Used to really like this place. They keep raising their prices and refuse to change the online prices which still list prices that are 20% lower than actual prices. They refuse to have printed ones in the stores so if you want to know prices, “you can call in advance and we can tell you”. I asked for the owners name, and “Al” works from home and there is no way to get in touch. Apparently same for the general manager who is not around the store to ask questions on pricing. CORRECT your online prices and PRINT menus so people know the prices they need to pay and not submit to the pricing of the day.

This lady has racial profiled me for providing my card to pay for my bill. She said in Spanish which I’m bilingual , is the card real? To her manager. I asked her if she wants to see my id or my badge. Horrible customer service. I will call the corporate office. And Department of Health for using the same glove to swipe my card while making my tacos .

I can't believe I am leaving a bad review. Firstly, I never give bad reviews. Especially for restaurants. Secondly, I can honestly say I haven't had any real issues with this location until tonight. Tonight, I walked in, and the servers were very nice and accommodating. it wasn't until it was time for me to pay for my order. The manger tried to over charge me for my salad. I come there ALL the time. So I know the cost. My order was the shredded lettuce, regular tomatoes, cucumbers and a sprinkle of onions. NO MEAT!!! The amount she tried to charge me was $11.41. This isn't the first time she has tried this, however she was told by the male manger months ago that its $8.00 plus tax when she tried it before. I said politely excuse me that's not the correct price. She said, yes it is. I said No ma'am I never pay that much because it has no meat. With a smirk on her face she begins to pick up the register to turn it towards me. And said I can show you, I said I didn't ask you to show me I am telling what I normally pay. She said oh that is what the old manger would do but now its this price. I said to her are you a manger?! I asked because I could not believe that she was a manger and was very unprofessional. She replied Yes again with a smirk on her face. I then walked out leaving the salad and yes I was angry in the way I was being treated. I walked back in to ask for the owners name. I had to ask her three times because she just stared at me I like I did something wrong to her. After she finally responded to me I said that was terrible customer service. I had to sit in my car for a second and reevaluate the whole thing. Did I do something wrong, Was I disrespectful. Trust me if I was wrong I would have went back in and apologized. But I didn't do anything to be treated the way she treated me. I even called my close friend to ask her how much does she pay for the same salad. She responded $7 to $8 but never more than that. As I mentioned before this isn't the first time she has done this to me. Therefore, I am starting think she has a problem whatever it is with me. Little did she know I am a restaurant owner and I know she handled me wrong. I would never treat any of my customers like she treated me. Because of her unprofessionalism she lost money because I didn't purchase the salad and I am no longer going back to this location. Her goal should be to treat all customers with respect and to make sure they are accommodated. The goal also is to make money. She cause her boss to lose money and a customer. Very disappointed

I hate to do this but first time ever i had a bad review of one of my fav take out places....this evening my gf came in to get take out (nachos) to be clear. just to mention we are regular customers here but today there was a girl who took her order and was extremely rude when serving the food. to say that when my gf asked for just a little bit of beans the girl serving grabbed a full spoon of beans and splattered them into the plate like if I was going thru a movie prison scene with attitude, what kind of way to serve food is this and what kind of disrespect is this, we are paying customers it's not like I asked for something extra. If you dont like your job or you dont like helping people maybe look for another job and we have never experienced any bad service here for all the years we have been coming but honestly with employees like that it gives a bad name to the place. I hope this location gets more friendly employees because this is not it. The employees are really rude & disrespectful.. from the cashiers to the dishwashers.. Food is overpriced, stale & the high priced salads are not worth the price.. Employees are very dirty I watched them handle cash the phones, broom, pick up change from the floor.. cough and sneeze into there hands.. pick there nose.. I actually seen a sticky mouse glue trap with 3 mice being tossed into a black garbage bag.. this place can do much better for now I give it zero stars.. attitude & hygiene needs to be improved...

Extremely rude every time I go in and definitely not worth it. I asked for an order to go and she just walked away. They just left it on a plate on the counter and walked away. The food is okay but not worth how rude and unhelpful they are every single time.

They were playing rnb on a television on one side of the restaurant and Spanish music from a jbl speaker. I couldn’t even think and started feeling nauseous. I asked the manager to shut off the speaker and he did. The food lacked flavor and the burrito was really soggy. I don’t recommend this place.

I come here all the time I live 20 minutes away and I always work late and I came today 3/8 and the door was unlocked mind u and I saw food in front of me and the denied serving me and said they were closed . Crazy they don’t care about the gas and time I took to get there and didn’t even serve me ungrateful people .

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The food was overpriced for what I got — a plate loaded with rice and barely any chicken. When I asked for my receipt, they said they didn’t have it and just handed me someone else’s. That felt really unprofessional. Honestly, I’d rather go to QDOBA next time. The food didn’t taste good either. I won’t be coming back.

I am very disappointed… I’ve loved taco joes but I haven’t gotten food from taco joes in awhile… came in and asked for a bowl the portions given out were so skimpy I asked for a little extra rice and was given a disrespectful stare…. The portion for the meat was again skimpy… for $16 a bowl… I will not be coming back again.

Two tacos WITH A COUPON was charged 14.95??? The place has no ambience. It’s not a restaurant. It’s a takeout joint. Coupon states buy one taco get one for two dollars. How is that over $10? IDK? I WALKED OUT! Will not be back. Terrible business terrible service!** UP CHARGING*

First and last time here. 3 tacos and 2 sodas is somehow $25.. I than asked to put the 2 sodas back and for some reason the gentleman removes a taco from my order. When I get home I noticed I was charged for 3 tacos yet only somehow only two managed to arrive in my bag.. So for now $18 I paid for 2 nothing special tacos…. I called immediately and the gentleman told me I can come back for a free taco? I don’t want a taco?? I am not coming back, I want my $ back. He than proceeded to tell me to dispute it with my bank? Cause there was nothing they can do about it? Super awkward / uncomfortable experience. Thanks for robbing me. Can’t even throw in napkins for x2 $18 tacos or replacement the shell… smh 🤦🏻‍♂️
